Our week-long educational day camps are small in class size with experienced instructors and full of interactive fun and adventure for youth. Campers can engage in areas such as computer programming, science, art, math, digital animation and more.

Explore LEGO™ Robotics

Let’s build amazing LEGOTM robots with real motors and sensors and then, let’s program our robots to make them move and do cool things. Using LEGO® WeDo and Scratch, together we will explore basic programming and test our engineering skills. During this week you will create your own animations, video games and robots. Explore the amazing world of mechanisms and controls through hands-on learning and creative thinking.

Mini Mad Scientist

Entering grades 4-6 in September

Lost in Time - Dinosaur Adventure Explore Camp OC Attention paleontologists! For one week only, Camp OC will be transformed back 200 million years. You’ll create fossils, crack homemade T-Rex eggs and build dinosaurs taller than you. You will even learn about the last living dinosaur, Tuatara. This camp is guaranteed to be Jurassic.

Do you love art? So do we! Join us this week to unleash your inner artist. This camp is all about letting your creativity flow as you explore different artistic techniques and bring your works of art to life. Experiment with various art forms such as sketching, painting or sculpting and maybe even find a new passion while you’re at it. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or looking to try something new, there is no doubt this camp will be art-tastic.

Welcome campers! You have been accepted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Get sorted into your house, join the dueling club, decipher hidden messages, play Quidditch and of course, work towards winning the Hogwarts House Cup. Craft amazing potions that bubble, boil and fizz. Even bring home your own wand that Ollivander would be proud of. This week will be full of science and magic.

Calling all mad scientists! Throw on your lab coat, head to the laboratory and prepare to get messy. We will be making tons of crazy creations all in the name of science this week. Discover different solutions and reactions, develop hypotheses and conduct your very own experiments. This camp is sure to be a blast.

EV3™ Robotics

If you think LEGOTM is just a toy for kids, think again. This week you will design and construct robots from the ground-up using Lego Robotic Invention System. Bring your construction to life by using the EV3 lego brick and your own new found programming skills. Challenge your fellow campers’ constructions to a race or a game of robot soccer.

Jr. Art Academy

Do you like hands-on art projects and love seeing your creativity come to life? If art is your “thing”, then our Art Academy is where you need to be. You will paint, draw, sketch and sculpt all types of media into creative masterpieces that even Van Gogh would have been stunned by. Let your creative mind soar in this artistic exploration.

Intro to Trades

Have you ever wondered what the trades are all about? Then you’re in luck with this camp! This week you will explore this fascinating world while gaining hands-on experience in approximately five different trades’ specialties. Campers will build a project that incorporates their creativity with carpentry, metal working, plumbing, concrete and electrical components. Learn some useful skills while gaining extensive access to the trades’ facilities and technical training at Okanagan College. Who knows, you may find an interest you never knew you had.

Video Game Workshop

Jr. Mod Design using Minecraft ™ Do you play Minecraft? Have you ever wanted something that wasn’t part of the game? We will show you how to personalize Minecraft by creating datapacks. Explore how to create and customize datapacks by changing textures, adding recipes and making new worlds and experiences.

Website Design

Do you want to build a website or blog, but don’t know where to start? Or maybe you started, but it’s not how you imagined it? This week we will use different software and tools to create something unique to you. Dashboards, widgets, graphics, colours and fonts, we will explore it all. You can even link it to other social media sites. Create something you can show off to friends and family and be proud of.

The Informed Parental Consent Form will be emailed to you after registering your child. Please fill it out as soon as it is received.

Like video games? Don’t just play them, learn how to make them in this creative computerbased camp. Working with a variety of 2D engines, campers will be on the game design fast track, drawing their own graphics, adding custom sounds, building their own levels and making their own rules. From start to finish, experience how games are made.

CampOC - Penticton campus What to Bring to Camp

Our Commitment to You

Please have your child bring a lunch and snacks to camp. Due to allergies, please do not include any nut snacks. Be sure to make note of allergies or a special diet on the Camp OC Informed Parental Consent form. Campers should dress in weather appropriate play clothes and should bring a hat, running shoes, sunscreen and water bottle. If your child’s camp requires additional items they will be listed on their registration form.

Camp OC is committed to offering your child a fun, safe and educational experience. We will make every effort to ensure that your child’s camp experience is positive by providing quality content, instructors and facilities. If something is not meeting your expectations, please let us know as soon as possible and we will do our best to fix the situation.

Refund Policy To withdraw from a camp, contact us by phone, email or in person. Full refunds will be given if the request to withdraw is made at least five business days in advance of the camp start date. Requests made less than five business days in advance of the camp start date, will be refunded 50 per cent of the registration fee. No refunds are given after the camp start date or for days missed. Refunds can take between two and four weeks to process and will be mailed in the form of a cheque.

Late/Absent If your child will be absent, please notify camp staff by calling 250-492-4305

or e-mail cssouth@okanagan.bc.ca. It is the parent’s responsibility to make sure that their child gets signed in at the beginning of camp. You will not be notified if your child is absent from the program.

Behaviour and No Bullying Policy Okanagan College expects all campers to behave in a respectful way towards other campers, camp staff, equipment and camp facilities. Parents will be notified if their child’s behaviour is inappropriate. If the inappropriate behaviour continues, Okanagan College holds the right to remove the child from camp, without a refund.

Photo/Video Release Please make sure to read Camp OC’s photo and video release policy. It can be found under FAQ’s on the website as well as on the Informed Parental Consent Form.

Informed Parental Consent Form The Informed Parental Consent Form will be emailed to you right after you register your child for camp. Please make sure to read it, fill it out and submit it at least two weeks prior to camp starting.
