FITNESS FACILITY SERVICES Please sign up at okanagan.bc.ca/kelownastudentlife

Okanagan College is committed to promoting health and wellness as a lifestyle choice for all eligible students. Our facility offers a wide range of cardio machines and strength training options. Memberships can be purchased online for $10. Cards are activated based on your enrollment and program dates and will be automatically reactivated for returning students. FITNESS FACILITY HOURS OF OPERATION Mon - Thu 6 a.m. - 8 p.m. Fri 6 a.m. - 6 p.m. Sat 12 - 4 p.m. Please note: we are closed on all statutory holidays and holiday weekends. February reading week hours will be Tuesday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. WEIGHT ROOM ORIENTATION Learn how to use the fitness facility equipment safely and effectively under the guidance of our staff. Group Orientations: Our fitness specialist will book a maximum of four people per orientation. Book your orientation online at okanagan.bc.ca/kelownastudentlife and a fitness specialist will contact you.

COMMUNITY GROUP FITNESS PARTNERS

In partnership with Global Fitness, Ekahi Center for Yoga and Parkinson Recreation Centre, Okanagan College is happy to provide free group fitness classes and pool passes for students at these facilities. Please visit the Athletics, Recreation and Student Life office (A 105) to find out how you can access these classes.

Outdoor Adventure Program Athletics, Recreation, and Student Life is excited to continue with the Outdoor Adventure Program. This program is intended to introduce students to fun recreational activities that are found in the Okanagan area. We will be giving away prizes on each excursion with a grand prize giveaway at the end of the semester! Look for the Outdoor Adventure Program logo attached to the events that qualify.

$10 FRIDAY NIGHTS Bus ride to and from Big White is FREE for Okanagan College students. You MUST sign up for the bus at okanagan.bc.ca/kelownastudentlife by the Thursday prior to departure date. Lift tickets and rentals are payable at the mountain. Dates: Jan. 11 & 25, Feb. 1 & 8 and Mar. 8 Time: Meet in the Atrium of the E building at 3:30 p.m. *Cost: $10 lift ticket, $10 Rentals payable on the mountain Sign up: okanagan.bc.ca/kelownastudentlife Sign up deadline: Thursday prior to departure date by 3:30 p.m. STUDENT DAY Join us for a fabulous day on the hill with 50% off lift tickets, rentals and lessons. Never skied or snowboarded before? No problem; ask us about the Beginner Packages. Bus departs Campus at 7:30 am promptly and will leave Big White 4:30 pm *Cost: Lift tickets $45, two-hour lesson $35, equipment rentals $35 includes helmet, Full Day Beginner Package $130; ½ Day Beginner Package $100, ** Snowshoe Package $55 (includes snowshoe trail pass & rentals and 1.5 hour lesson), Tubing or Skate Rental (Rink use is free) $12 each Sign up: okanagan.bc.ca/kelownastudentlife Sign up deadline: Mon, February 25 *Does NOT include GST **Please note there is a minimum of three people needed for snowshoe package

COYOTES BASEBALL The Okanagan College Coyotes Baseball Team is looking to build off a successful 2018 fall season. With a strong core of student athletes and a number of promising new recruits, the team will be aiming to secure a second championship at the CCBC Championship Tournament. Please come out and support your Okanagan College Baseball Team by attending a home game this spring. COYOTES BASKETBALL Okanagan College is proud to welcome Men’s and Women’s Basketball to our Intercollegiate program and we are now halfway through our first official season. Please come out and support the teams as they embark on their first PACWEST Conference year. MARCH PET PAWS We know the facts! Studies show that interactions with therapy animals can greatly decrease stress in humans. We could all use a little less stress so we’re bringing in the therapy dogs to visit with you! Stop by and pet one of our furry friends, and grab a snack at the same time. Compete for the right to call yourself the Okanagan College Ping Pong Champion. Prizes will be awarded.
