FITNESS FACILITY SERVICES Access cards to fitness facilities are available for purchase at a cost of $10 from the administration office (ASHNOLA Building).

FACILITIES PERSONAL TRAINING & WEIGHT ROOM ORIENTATION A personal fitness trainer can design a program best suited to help you achieve your fitness goals. Personal programs cost $75 for students and $150 for staff and include three sessions. Or if you would prefer to learn to use the equipment in a group setting with no more than five people, consider signing up for a free weight room orientation. To book your personal training, please contact the Athletics, Recreation and Student Life office (PC146) or call Jo Ann at 250-492-4305, ext. 3274.

CLASSES

Sign up for fitness classes at the Athletics, Recreation and Student Life office (PC 146). The deadline to sign up for fitness classes is Tue, Jan 9.

ENTRY LEVEL EXERCISE Wanting to start a workout program but don’t know where to begin? Take this class and we’ll show you how to use our fitness center equipment properly and safely and we’ll show you some basic exercises using free weights and our resistance machines. Dates: Wed, Jan. 16 & 23 & Mon, Jan. 21 Times: 4 - 5 p.m. Location: PC 148 Cost: Free Register by: Mon, Jan. 14

SPORTS & ATHLETICS Sports and Athletics events are free of charge to participate. Prizes are awarded to top finishers. DROP IN BADMINTON Drop in with your friends and polish up your badminton skills. Dates: Mon, Jan. 14 - Feb. 11 Times: 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. Location: gymnasium (PC 145)

SINGLES BADMINTON TOURNAMENT Register to play in this fun tournament. Prizes will be awarded to top finishers. WINTER BOOTCAMP Date: Mon, Feb. 25 Join Kolbi as she takes you through a whole body workout which will help you look and feel your Time: 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. best. It’s just as much fun when played at TABATA College. Drop in to participate. As part of the Flourish Wellness Project, classes offered on a drop-in basis and are open to all OC students and employees. Yoga mats provided, or bring your own. Dates: Thu, Jan. 10 - April 11 Times: 12:30 - 1:15 p.m. Location: gymnasium (PC 145) Fee: free for students, $5/ class for OC employees or $50 for the session

WORKOUT WEDNESDAYS Drop into the gym or fitness center the first Wednesday of each month, finish your workout, then enter your name at PC 146 for a draw prize. Dates: Wed, Jan. 9, Feb. 6, Mar. 6, & Apr. 3 Times: 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.

OCSU WELCOME BACK OCSU is welcoming students back with a free taco in a bag event. Grab a warm taco bag to ward off the winter as well as a water bottle, pen, and more to start the semester-and year-off right! Date: Tue, Jan. 15 Time: 11: a.m. - 1 p.m. Location: PC 113 WELCOME BACK 2019 Celebrate the new semester with a free lunch, games and prizes. A great place to learn about student services on campus. Date: Mon, Jan. 7 Time: 11 - 1 p.m. Location: Community Hall (PC 113) 21 DAY WINTER HEALTH CHALLENGE Take on a new health challenge each day for 21 days and start feeling your best. Prizes go to top challenge finishers and we’ll draw for participant prizes. Pick up your challenge card in the Athletics, Recreation and Student Life office, PC 146, in January. Dates: Jan. - Feb. Cost: Free APEX MOUNTAIN GETAWAY Join us on the slopes at Apex Mountain for an amazing outdoor experience. They’re discounting prices on skiing, snowboarding, skating and tubing just for students. Dates: Fri, Feb. 8 Times: Depart OC at 3:30 p.m. Arrival back at 9:30 p.m. Fee: Lift Ticket - $8; Tubing - $8; Rentals - $8; Skating – free if you bring your own skates; Bus transportation - $10 Register by: Mon, Feb. 4 MEXICAN FIESTA WINTER CELEBRATION Reading week is almost here and we’re heading to Mexico. Well... not really. We’re bringing the spirit of Mexico to the college. Join us for an evening of all things Mexico. Munch on Mexican snacks, try to break a piñata, sample a margarita or two, and dance the night away. Date: Thu, Feb. 7 Time: 7 - 10 p.m. STRESS BUSTER AAAHHHH!! Exams, assignments, job, family life… How is it possible to balance it all and still remain calm? Stop in to visit with therapy dogs, play some games, make greeting cards, experience positive aromatherapy, and more. Great draw prizes will be given away. Date: Wed, Feb. 13 Time: 11 - 1 p.m. Location: Community Hall (PC 113)

WELLNESS WEDNESDAYS WITH FLOURISH A series of FREE drop in workshops designed to create a safe space so you can get curious about what YOU need to flourish. Learn strategies, connect with supports, and grow your ability to manage stress which will enable you to be a more successful student. Check outokanagan.bc.ca/flourish for details. Dates: Wed, Jan. 9 - Apr 10 Time: 3 - 4 p.m. Facilitator: Sarah Lefebure and various guest speakers Location: PE A06 OC POTLUCK SERIES This is a monthly event for ALL students and staff to get together and have some great food and socialize with each other. Please bring your favorite dish and you never know what games we may have cooked up. Time: 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. Dates: Jan. 16, Feb. 6 & Apr. 10 Location: Aboriginal Student Lounge MULTICULTURAL DAY CELEBRATION Come and sample foods from different countries, mark where you have been on the world map, and see how many different languages we can say “Thank You” in. Date: Wed, Mar. 6 Time: 11:30 - 1 p.m. Location: Community Hall (PC 113) IT’S A WRAP Come join your fellow students for this free end of semester event featuring games, prizes and a delicious lunch.
