The Strength of Living a Healthier Lifestyle In 2015, the Oklahoma City Community Foundation set out on a mission to get Oklahoma City residents moving with GetMovingOKC, an online activity hub. Five years later, it was time to move forward under the new umbrella of KeepMovingOKC.org. An initiative of the Oklahoma City Community Foundation, KeepMovingOKC.org aims to connect central Oklahoma residents to physical activity opportunities. By utilizing the online community calendar, people can stay active throughout the year with activities available to all regardless of budget, schedule or interest. “We want KeepMovingOKC.org to be sustainable and grow so that anyone can find something on the site to help them keep moving,” said Talita Denegri, Community Foundation Trustee. “The website is designed to increase visibility to physical activities that are accessible, affordable and doable. Our community can’t become stagnant. We have to strive to do better!” Discover all this new tool has to offer at KeepMovingOKC.org

Trailblazers – The Greater Oklahoma City Parks & Trails Foundation Established in 2017, the Greater Oklahoma City Parks & Trails Foundation has become a big advocate for the value of parks, trails and public spaces in central Oklahoma. The Foundation recently published an updated version of their trails map, which provides a more in-depth look at 14 Oklahoma City trails available to the public, complete with recent improvements. “We developed this map for our communities to inspire them to get out and explore the Greater Oklahoma City area,” said Marsha Funk, executive director of the Greater Oklahoma City Parks & Trails Foundation. “Our second edition improves upon that, and we hope it continues to get people outside and moving.” The Foundation works in tandem with the Oklahoma City Community Foundation on many projects, sharing committee members, initiatives like KeepMovingOKC and the vision to provide Oklahomans with access to beautiful green spaces, and ultimately, a higher quality of living.
