Upgrading your Insta Feed Kansas City is known for their new and upcoming murals & walls that they have to offer. Honestly the best way to discover new walls to spice up your Insta-pictures is going out and adventuring with your friends but here’s a compilation of a few of my favorites that are worth taking a look at! While you’re on Instagram, don’t be afraid to give me a follow @Izzmend & see the different locations I’ve been too!

Love you like a Summer Night: 1624 Grand Blvd, Kansas City Missouri This one is located right behind Messen ger Coffee, which not to mention is a great stop for coffee and pastries. But this garage painted door gives me the best summer and colorful vibes, even though were in the midst of fall.

Dorothy Girl : 1212 Holmes Street, Kansas City, Missouri This Wizard of Oz reference mural I recently discovered is the cutest! Its located in the crossroads district behind the Rosin Preservation building. It can be seen when driving on Cherry Street and there is a little kitty mural next to it as well.

A Whole Lot of Wallll: 400 East 17th St, Kansas City Missouri Okay this spot is conveniently located down the street from Grinders Pizza (which is so yummy) similar to the Maker Mural it contains about 11 different and unique murals to let your creativity run wild.

4. Blue MM Door & Greater KC: 1725 Main Street, Kansa City Missouri Granted that one of these is a door and not a wall, these two pieces can be found a few feet down the street from one another and both possesses different vibes for different pictures.

Royals Strong: 401 East 16th St., Kansas City Missouri This mural is fantastic for those who love their Royals. I think this art piece really represents our KC Royals pride.

Your Skin Will Thank You Later... Transitioning into Autumn Skincare Tips and Tricks With Summer officially being over and us transitioning into fall, that comes with the changing of leaves, cooler temperatures, and the dry air, causing an array of new skincare issues like parched lips, transitional skin and dullness. The changing seasons can be particularly harsh on your skin and often requiring a shift in products. Here’s a simple guide to some critically acclaimed products we swear by and a couple tips to try along the way. Moisturize All Dayyy • Being brutally honest, the most important step would be piling on that moisturizer. As the weather gets cooler your skin in prone to getting drier and more sensitive, needing a bit more attentation. Even if you identified with having more of an oily combination skin its critical to finding a moisturizer that works with your skin that being a gel-based product or just a moisturizer that is a light ream-based. One of the most versatile moisturizer I have tried would be the Nivea Soft Moisturizing Creame retailing at $6.99. It’s a great product for those who are not so oily and want a deep repairing cream. A bit more high-end product that works beyond amazing would be the Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream retailing at $60.00. One word: YES. This product I believe could work for essentially anyone, making your skin plump, refreshed and taking care of any imperfections. Keeping it Clean • Scientific studies have shown that lower oil and lipid production are more present in the cooler months. This can trigger inflammation within the skin and causing issues such as eczema and rosacea. Swapping to a gentler, more hydrating and thicker cleanser would greatly help your skin adjust to the changing seasons. Creams that contain more oil content make them a bit more hydrating. I recommend the Neutrogena Deep Clean Cream Cleanser starting at $6.99 and a cleanser that is gentle but also getting the work done well. Save your Skin from the Sun • After being out in the sun and water for those past months, your skin has accumulated a good amount of UV damage. The fall is a great time to give your skin some help and take care of the hyperpigmentation, dark spots, and problem areas. Make sure to continue using sunscreen during the fall because UV rays continue to be present all year round. Protecting your skin with a daily layer of sunscreen is just as important in the summer months as in the winter. The Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Sunscreen retailing for $8.99 is great for everyday use, bring a lightweight product or finding a foundation that includes sunscreen would be ideal as well. Kissing Lips • Just like your skin experiencing a more intense dryness, our lips can experience that same effect. We suggest switching to a more nourishing lip products in these changing seasons. A lip serum, balm, or oil containing vitamin C would be your best bet to keeping up with soft and plump lips this fall Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment Sunscreen SPF 15 retailing for $24, is a great alternative this cold season.

Marissa Miller is a Kansas City Native and her business is 90SIX. Growing up in KC, she has always had a passion for anything fashion, as she says in our interview with her. Miller gathered the concept for her business because of her love of vintage clothing. On the other hand, she didn’t like how some thrifted items where so “used”. So she took action to design her own vintage inspired clothing line, starting this idea out just for herself, she then expanded on actually making it a real business. 90SIX debuted in the summer of 2017 and has been blossoming ever since. Miller’s team consists of herself and two other employees, for design and production. Miller designs and screen prints all of her own clothing, with the addition of creating her own jewelry and distressing vintage denim too! Miller’s line is made up of unique clothing (usually being KC related items or just fun fashion pieces) and accessories while maintaining a handmade touch, making each piece its own and special to that customer.

90SIX is known for their attention to detail in all the articles of clothing that they curate and having that ability to connect vintage and modern trends together while still providing a unique experience for the consumer. 90SIX is locally based out of Kansas City but ships out nationwide. They can be found on many social platforms like Instagram @SHOP90SIX and their website, where their apparel collection can be found. Miller hopes to grow nationally and expand her business, with also the hopes of inspiring other locally based companies. She leaves us with advice to give to other locally grown businesses, ‘make sure you know who your audience is and make connections with other local artists, it’ll be super helpful”. Miller says to have fun with it, and work hard! 90SIX’s mission is to inspire their customers to developed their own fashion identity. 20
