Georgian Style

The Georgian Style is very symmetrical. There is a beautiful front porch right in the center of the house. Georgian homes have gable/hip roofs. They tend to have a neutral color scheme. These homes are great for families.


Federal Style

Federal Style homes are very similar to the Georgian Style. They are very symmetrical and have gable/hip roofs, but no front porch.

They have a very American Country look to them. Greens and Reds are very popular as shown in the picture above. Even the rooms have a symmetrical look to them.

There is a very open and welcoming vibe in these homes. All the furniture is comfortable and old fashioned.


Greek Revival Style

The Greek Revival Style has an extended hip roof. There are white columns in front of the house. These houses are a little asymmetrical, with most garages attatched to the side of the house.


Italianate Style The Italianate Style has an extended hip roof, like Greek Revival housing. They have a lot of curved archways and very vertically shaped windows. Doorways in the interior are also very curved as well as exterior.

The Colonial Revival Style is based off of 3 smaller styles: Federal, Saltbox, and Capecod. There is a front porch and columns. It can be either symmetrical or asymmetrical. Yellows and blues are used most often.

Prairie Style

Prairie Style homes are homes that follow “Of a hill, not on a hill�. This style was used alot in 1900-1920. Infulenced by midwest architects.


Craftsman Style

Craftsman Style homes are homes with gable/hip roofs. They have decorative beams. They are good for families.


Shed Style

Shed Style homes were created by Charles Moore & Robert Venturie. They have asymetrical angled roofs. vertical windows are also popular.


Ranch Style

Ranch Style homes are homes that are one story. Families left cities for more urban homes.


Geodesic Style Geodesic Style homes are homes made with triangles to form the walls and ceiling. They take less energy which is nice.


A-Frame Style A-Frame Style homes are homes with the walls in a slanted “A” shape. They are not good for growing familys. You wouldn’t be able to add any roooms without messing up the roof shape.
