Power of the Soul: Inside Wisdom for an Outside World Interview by Linda Frisch

In these times of transformation, so many people are becoming aware of different potentials. Their abilities and psychic senses are opening, and they are looking for information to help them and to guide them. Omtimes.com

Today, we are bringing forward John Holland. John Holland is an international Psychic Medium. He has been featured on the History Channel, A&E, Unsolved Mysteries, and on a radio show on Hay House. An author of several books, but today I want to get you to know him as a soul who has evolved, who has grown along with us on his soul journey, and we are going to showcase one of his books, “Power of the Soul - Inside Wisdom for an Outside World.” Then, today, just looking at this book, I see that much of this journey which was chronicled in his different books, is really incorporated in the Power of the Soul book. This is a wonderful reference. It is a wonderful guide, because I see John as a very authentic soul, a man of compassion, a spiritual teacher, and a fellow traveler on the path

of service. John, how are you? JOHN HOLLAND: Good, thank you. LINDA FRISCH: Now, at the beginning of your book, you have a quote: “Imagine yourself as a luminous being of energy and light, because in reality, you are.” Is this how you see the soul? JOHN HOLLAND: Yes, totally. We are made up of energy, and so I look at it as we are beings of energy and light. Even scientifically, energy cannot die it simply transforms. So, yes, I believe that we are all luminous beings. Most people just see themselves in a mirror, and that is who they think they really are. That is the reflection of them, but that is not true of who they really are on a spiritual level. We are not our image in the mirror. We are so much more than that. LINDA FRISCH: When did you, through all your journey, come up to the

Omtimes.com

point where you say, ‘Let us deal with people getting to know their inside wisdom?’ JOHN HOLLAND: The soul tries to get your attention. Before you have the wake-up call, it has already tried giving you a dream. It has already tried giving you an intuitive hit. In your mind, you are saying I really should not be doing this. I do not know why. I do not feel right about this. We do not listen to it. Then, synchronistic events start happening--the right people in the right place, or sometimes it is just a coincidence. The soul tries to get your attention through your dreams, your intuition, and synchronistic events. You do not pay attention to that, and then you get wake-up calls. A wake-up call could be passing. It could be a relationship ending. It could be you getting fired from your job. Mine was an automobile accident when I was living in California. That was my wakeup call. I was going a little

Omtimes.com

crazy in L.A. I was a young man, and I was not living a really great life, and the accident put me right back on the path. So, I did not complain, Linda, about my car, is gone, what am I going to do, and I thank God - not for giving me an accident - but I thank God, or my soul, that I had that accident. As soon as it happened, it was my wake-up call to get my life together, and if it were not for that accident, I would not be on this phone with you. I would not be the person or the professional medium that I am now all because of an accident. If people do not listen to wakeup calls, then that is not a good thing because you only get a few of them. Your soul tries to knock you back on the path, but we have free will here. We have free will. Your spirit could be leading towards your goal, but it is our free will. Do we go towards it or do we run from it? LINDA FRISCH: I sometimes know people cross our paths for information and we are shown different

directions. Would this be a possibility on your thoughts of it is part of the past lives? Or how do you see reincarnation fitting into this soul awakening? JOHN HOLLAND: Well, there are two different aspects. I think the consciousness of man is somehow shifting. A lot of people are becoming more intuitive. I think what is happening is that we are becoming spiritually awake, and people do not understand why. I think that maybe the consciousness of the Earth is changing or the consciousness of man. We are questioning our own immortality more. We are asking the bigger questions. So, if someone suddenly is quite intuitive, it does not mean to become a medium, not necessarily. It means use it in your own life to help you, to help the people around you. If the mediumship potential is there, then it will develop, and spirit will help you. But, reincarnation, I know I have done this before.

Dr. Brian Weiss regressed me once, and I was a preacher. It seems I was either a monk or a preacher, or in some type of religious aspect. I mean I did not go back through hundreds of lives. So, I did not do that much research. I did have the regression with him, but it seems I was born this way. Even as a child, as an Irish-Italian Catholic living in Boston, Massachusetts. Yet I was fascinated by watching where we used to go as kids. They used to have the Hare Krishnas, you know, in red robes and the bald heads, and the chanting on the Boston Common. I would be found chanting with them, and my mother would be with my other four brothers and sisters and would say, ‘Get over here.’ So, I believe I have done that before. I was also born with an unbelievable talent for art. And I never took a class as a child. Is it past life or is it in the genes? See, I think it may be a past life, that I have done it before. People say well, it is in the genes, but okay, that is possible,

Omtimes.com

too. I do not know how that works on a scientific DNA level with chromosomes, but I really believe it is a past life, and we keep learning. We keep coming back and learning the lessons. I mean, like kids that have famine in Africa, or around the world. Why would they choose to be born in that life? You know what you are going to get into before you get here. I really believe that, and I believe that the people that suffer are the ones who are going through a huge spiritual progression, a huge spiritual progression. So, that is what I believe and, of course, when we come here we do not remember that we chose these conditions. For anyone who is listening, you know they say that everything happens for a reason. I love that saying, and I hate that saying because I do not understand why some things happen. Why a child was taken from their parents, or why a spouse was suddenly taken, also. I do not understand. And I believe sometimes stuff happens, but there are things like that

Omtimes.com

accident I was in that was meant to happen. I think that was my last-ditch effort on a soul level, a spiritual level, to get on my path and I chose to listen to it. So, “The Power of the Soul,” there is a lot of stuff in there and, when I did the reincarnation part of it, it was just to show you the continuity of the soul. You were a soul long before you came here and you are going to be a soul long after you leave here, until it is time to choose to come back. LINDA FRISCH: As a medium, as being able to see, when people come to you do you see more than what you were talking about “the continuity of the soul?” If you see a person who has passed, can you see further beyond the personality? JOHN HOLLAND: Not really. I do not believe another psychic or person should tell you who you were in a past life, I really do not. And I think they should try to understand themselves by going for a past

life regression, but I would not do just because you are curious. I mean, past life therapy helps people with anxiety, people who are claustrophobic, or they are having a bad relationship, maybe, with someone. Maybe two sisters are not getting along, maybe in a past life they were mother and daughter. And if they go back to a past life, they can see where the anxiety came from, or where the claustrophobia came from, or the relationship that was difficult in that past life gets carried over here. When a student sits with me for reading, I do not do past life readings. I am strictly connecting to their loved ones, but something happens when a student sits with me. It seems the reading takes another course and I start talking about past lives, or their path. This means to me that I am being guided, that they need some additional counseling or instruction. I used to do psychic work. I used to see if someone was going to take a job where it would go, but I do not think the

future is set in stone, the person has free will. Every person who sits in front of me is different, but my job is to connect people on the other side. LINDA FRISCH: You had a wake-up call. If you look back on your life as part of your legacy right now, would you have chosen the same path? Would you choose the same things? JOHN HOLLAND: Probably, yes; I probably would have. There are different choices that maybe I would like to, but everything in my past, every pain, every joy, every sorrow, led me to where I am now. For people who are listening, who something dramatic or terrible happened to in their life, did it elevate you, did you learn from it? I say to people who have got into an awful relationship, “What did you learn from it? They may say they did not learn anything from that one. Yes, they did, they know what they do not want in their next relationship, obviously, or

Omtimes.com

hopefully that they get that. I think that some of the most painful moments in our lives can be the biggest spiritual catalyst for us. LINDA FRISCH: I think that is part of what you are bringing up in this book, Inside Wisdom for an Outside World. You are saying acknowledge yourself. Acknowledge the information that comes up for you, and stop giving your power away to other people by their opinions of you. JOHN HOLLAND: I wrote “Power of the Soul” because in it I describe what the soul is. All these wonderful things, from synchronistic events to intuition, to psychic ability, to reincarnation, but most people they do not want to do the work, Linda. They would rather go to someone and have someone else tell them what they are supposed to do. A lot of people will not work on their spiritual side. They would rather have someone else try

Omtimes.com

to do it for them. LINDA FRISCH: Do you see a change? I know a lot of the radio shows we are doing now, and a lot of information we are doing on OM is presenting this. Do you see that change coming with people? JOHN HOLLAND: It took me many years, but your soul is part of you. Your spirit, your soul, is part of you, okay? You cannot get away from it. It took us many, many years to pull away from our souls. And it is still part of you, but we forget that it is there. It is going to take a little bit to get back in sync with it, but basically, it gets down to meditation. Go quiet and listen to that still, inner voice, you know. We have not listened to it for a long time, so it takes a while to get used to listening to it again. But before you reach for that phone just stop when you wake up and put your hands on your chest and say, “I am a soul.” Let your soul get integrated back into the body be-

cause it was just home in the spirit world. People forget that when you sleep your spirit goes home; it revitalizes itself and comes back. I mean you are still connected. So, just take a moment before you reach for that phone. Put your hands on your chest and say, “I am a soul, and set the intention. The first thought for the day, I want it to be invigorating. I want it to be inspirational. What is that thought before you reach for that phone, because when you start reaching for the social media, it is not always good news, okay, especially lately? So, before you reach for that outer technology, reach for your inner technology. Get it? Before you reach for your outer technology, like your phone, reach for your inner technology, your spirit. LINDA FRISCH: What was your passion? What is important also is that you need to give back and be grateful for all that is within, but also to give back to others? JOHN HOLLAND: I believe that the universe gives

and receives, gives and receives. Whether it is a compliment, and thank you, or whatever; and so I believe that to prime the pump of abundance you have to give and receive, give and receive. I have been very blessed; got to travel and study with a lot of teachers. I have been to Australia, the UK, and Scotland. You know, I am just a guy from the city, from the ghetto, and it is my way of giving back because I have been blessed. It is like paying it forward. It really does work. I do not give to receive, I give because I can. And if I get something back from it then that is great, but I do not give to receive. Some people say, well, can one person make a difference? Absolutely. At one of my animal charity events, I got a little dog. I would drive by the NHSPCA every day and say I wonder if there is anything I could do. Well, who would have thought that by me getting a puppy ten years ago, it would help bring over $100,000 to the SPCA? I dedicated the fund to help animals brought to the SPCA to save their lives.

Chiropractic Arts: Not Just About Neck and Back Pain by Dr. Lee Ann Kalaba, DC

Chiropractic Care is More Than Just Pain Do you ever wonder why many chiropractors focus on a wellness approach to healthcare? Are you one of those people who thinks that chiropractic is only good for

Omtimes.com

pain relief, especially for the neck and low back? You see, there is a common misconception that chiropractic care is only beneficial for neck and back pain. While chiropractic has been documented as the most effective, conservative care for such issues, chiropractic is about much more than just pain. (See partial list near bottom of article.) Chiropractors are first and foremost experts in nerve signal interference, the result of which leads to the “pain expert label. Many people feel better or experience pain relief because of chiropractic adjustments that have helped restore optimal flow of nerve signals. A Healthy Nervous System Needs Clear Communication And, the nervous system controls every cell of your body. With a healthy nervous system and clear communication signals to those very cells, the body has its best chance to function at its highest level.

Thus, this affects all processes in the body, not just neck and back pain. It is important to note that that nerve signal interference has three main causes: physical, chemical, and emotional. It’s not just about spinal alignment in a wellness practice. Many wellness chiropractors support the adjustment process with other types of recommendations, such as diet, exercise, and stress relief techniques. This provides a robust healthcare model that is much more than simply relieving neck and back pain. A wellness-based chiropractor will utilize education, and clinical experience, along with specific tools and techniques. These serve to identify interference in the communication between the nervous system and the rest of the body. The chiropractor administers an impulse into the nervous system (an adjustment) to restore this communication cycle. This adjustment may or may not be at the site of pain or other

Omtimes.com

symptoms. But, it will always be at the location of poor nerve signal flow. Restore Proper Motion and Holistic Balance It is this communication cyclefree of interference-that allows the body to restore proper motion. It also serves to lower inflammation, reduce pain, improve digestion, lower stress, improve sleep, reduce allergies, and much more. Additional lifestyle recommendations are also often provided in the chiropractic environment. Thus, patients receive a wholebeing approach to healthcare, not just one focused on tight muscles and achy joints. Below are titles to specific, peer-reviewed case studies that demonstrate the potential impact a healthy nervous system can have on one’s life, all after receiving chiropractic care. Depression Neurological Function Supporting Lifestyle Changes Female Infertility Pseudoseizures ADHD

Omtimes.com

Care of a Battered Woman Substance Addiction Traumatic Brain Injury Cervical Muscle Spasms Hypertension It is important to note, however, that chiropractic does not treat any of these issues. Chiropractic care restores nervous system communication to its optimum level. This care may allow the outcomes above based on the body’s incredible ability to heal. This is especially true when supported with proper nutrition, healthy movement, and stress management. About the Author Lee Ann Kalaba is a practicing Doctor of Chiropractic in Tucson, AZ. After a decade in Corporate America as a CPA, she experienced a severe injury that was the catalyst of her healing journey and also put her on the chiropractic path. Now, her vision is to utilize chiropractic care and health coaching to help people improve their health so they can pursue the life of their dreams. http:// benowchiropractic.com/

Hidden Mental Health – How the Stigma is Breaking by Eileen O’Shanassy

Changing the Stigma and Fear The stigma and fear behind mental health can be scary. Here are a few ways things are changing.

Omtimes.com

Mental health is a topic that has carried a lot of stigma and baggage with it for most of recorded history. This baggage has made it difficult for those who suffer from a range of mental disorders to seek proper treatment. The fear of labels and unfair judgment has forced many people to suffer in silence. Anxiety and depression have gained acceptance faster than others, but drug addiction and bipolar disorder still carry the threat of criticism from the public. But even the friends and family of sufferers are often quick to make harsh judgments. The good news is, things are starting to change for the better, and the goal of accepting and getting the proper treatment to those who have mental health challenges is slowly gaining traction. The

following article is going to explore the factors that have made this progress a reality.

Mental Health Education Education has played a vital role in removing the stigma of mental health conditions. In the past, people were often of the opinion that mental disorders were just excuses used by those who had no desire to improve. But as we learn even more about these conditions and the situations that contribute to them, understanding each disorder is becoming easier than ever before. Just learning the biology behind some can help to alleviate harmful stigmas about mental health disorders.

Advancements in Brain Science & Tech When it comes to removing

Omtimes.com

the judgments associated with mental illnesses, science is making a lot of positive changes. Brain scans now allow us to see the neural activity that proves the existence of the conditions and the impact they can have on people’s lives. People have a natural tendency to reject and fear things they do not understand, but scientific studies have broken many mental conditions down in a way that paints a clear picture for everyone. Not only can we see that drug addiction changes the way that the brain works, but per Nova Recovery Center, we can also see what kinds of treatments and medications are the fastest ways for addiction victims to recover. Currently most Residential Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center facilities use a variety of counseling,

Omtimes.com

medication, therapy, and other treatments combined. Knowing which treatments and combinations will help can go a long way in patient’s lives.

Breaking the Silence Unless a problem impacts people directly, it is easy for them to disregard and ignore it. Although almost everyone knows someone who has a mental disorder, they won’t always know about it. Those who carry the burden of mental health problems are usually reluctant to speak up because they don’t want to lose family and friends. As the stigma continues to break away, more people than ever before are finding the courage to end the silence. Once the public starts to realize that people about whom they care face these challenges, they can start to relate to the problem on a

personal level.

Process of Changing Views of Mental Health Every social movement that was meant to inspire change has been met with initial resistance, which is to be expected. People generally fear change and prefer to stick to things that are familiar. We now have a lot of individuals working to spread awareness. The public is becoming accustomed to mental health disorders and the difficulties that those who suffer from them face daily. With the proper treatment and care, many people who have mental health issues can lead normal and happy lives. Rather than discovering how to treat these conditions, overcoming the stigma that surrounds them is the biggest obstacle that people face.

Research, education, and public awareness campaigns are making slow but steady progress toward a brighter future for everyone. Mental health conditions impact more than the people who are diagnosed with them. Therefore, everybody has something to gain by encouraging those who need treatment to seek it.

Last Year’s Birds and This Year’s Nest by Alan Cohen

Relationships and Past Connections With the advent of the Internet and Facebook, I’ve had lots of people from my past find me and reach out to connect. Some from as far back as elementary school, high school, and college. Some of

Omtimes.com

these people were my best friends at the time. It was exciting to hear from them again, and in most cases, we had a lengthy phone talk or lunch date. Part of me thought we might rekindle our friendship. But in all cases, after our initial meeting, we didn’t have much more to talk about. Most of our conversation was reminiscing. After that, the interaction ran out of gas. We hugged, wished each other well, and said, “Let’s keep in touch.” Then we went our separate ways, never or rarely to connect again. Part of me felt sad that such friendships had no current life. Then I saw a quote by Miguel de Cervantes, author of the beloved classic novel Don Quixote: Do not look for this year’s birds in last year’s nest. This is a fabulous, penetrating lesson! What is of the past belongs to the past. What is of the present belongs to the

present. Sometimes the two overlap; often they do not. Birds & the Principle of Golden Intersections This brought me to discover a principle I call Golden Intersections. When we connect with someone, whether for a moment, a decade, or a lifetime, there is a purpose to that meeting. A Course in Miracles tells us that there is no such thing as a random encounter; every person we meet is sent to us by Spirit for a purpose. Our job is to discover and extract the gift in that meeting and use it. No connection is outside our destiny of good. All relationships exist for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. Reason relationships might occur via a crossing of paths for a meaningful moment. A conversation in an elevator, a hearty laugh with a waitress, or one date with a person you do not see again, are never an accident; they all have a purpose. Season relationships

Omtimes.com

go on for months or years. A romantic relationship, a strong friendship, or a close connection with a co-worker belong to you for a length of time. Then, like all seasons, the interlude comes to an end and gives way to something new. Lifetime relationships are usually with family members or a dear friend. They run deep and run the gamut of activities and emotions. Recognizing the Gift of Relationships No matter how long your relationship lasts, there is a gift in it. Sometime that gift comes through love, fun, and joy. Sometimes it comes through hardship and challenge. Do not write off difficult interactions as a mistake or a waste of time. In some cases, the gifts they bestow are more transformational than easy relationships. A Course in Miracles tells us that it takes great spiritual maturity to recognize that all events, encounters, and relationships are helpful.

Omtimes.com

I used to romanticize the past by wondering if I had made a mistake by not getting together with some past girlfriends when I had the chance to. I second-guessed myself for leaving or not cultivating relationships that could have turned out to be soulmate connections. Then something truly uncanny happened: In every case, some unexpected event showed up to demonstrate to me that there was a good reason those relationships did not endure. For example, my first love was my high school girlfriend Laurie in New Jersey. I was constantly high on love for months until we had a stormy breakup when I went off to college, and I never saw Laurie again. Often, I wondered if we might have continued our love affair and come together for life if I had handled the situation better. Birds & Bonds of Friendship Thirty-five years later, a friend of mine in Maui invited me to an intimate dinner party

at his home in a remote tiny mountain town. “I want you to meet my friend Eddie,” he told me. I was shocked to discover that this Eddie was Laurie’s brother! When our conversation came around to Laurie, I admitted I felt bad about our breakup. “No need,” Eddie told me. “If you saw the life Laurie has chosen, you would not miss her. Her lifestyle and the choices she has made are worlds away from what you are doing.” Then he told me about Laurie’s volatility and scarred relationships. Still I gave him my email to pass along to his sister so I could at least say hello after all these years. Laurie never connected. Now I realize that ending the relationship, even for what seemed foolish or immature reasons, was the way it had to be. It had a delightful purpose when it existed. But, when that purpose had been served, there was no reason for it to continue. As we step into spring, the season of renewal, we have

an opportunity to let the past go and allow new life to fill us. If you and I can just have faith that what belongs to us will stay with us, and if something served us in the past it does not necessarily belong to us in the present, we would forever shine in the now. Last year’s birds built their nests, and both the parents and the chicks have flown on to a new life. When we stay as light as birds in the glorious now, we too fly on to our highest destiny. The World Needs Our Individuality by Sherrie Dillard

Individuality Plays an Important Role Individuality is a vital part of humanity. Since the beginning of time, self-sacrifice has been ingrained within our consciousness. Like herd animals, we have huddled together throughout the

Omtimes.com

centuries to keep safe, claim our territory, and insure our longevity. Conformity and adhering to what was best for the group, the leaders, and those with power was expected and enforced. We instinctively want and need to be a part of a tribe. We seek our identity and fulfill our desire for community by bonding with others. Connecting with others of like mind and heart is healthy. However, it is important to bond with others through our most loving and positive aspects. When we form close ties with others through negative and fear based commonalities, this only reinforces and exaggerates these qualities within ourselves. It is tempting to align with others through our prejudices, judgments, superficial likes and dislikes, fears, wounds and other constrictive similarities and sentiments. Yet, a minor

dislike can become a prison of hate and limitations when it is reinforced by group consciousness.

Bonding with Others in Positive Ways Even when we bond with others through more positive aspirations and goals, we may find ourselves feeling hemmed in and out of touch with our own unique spark of individuality. In varying degrees, we have all experienced an inner resentment when we feel we cannot be who we are meant to be. We work at jobs that we do not necessarily like or enjoy. We stay in unsatisfying relationships that do not speak to our heartfelt needs. Debt rises to pay for the home, cars, clothing, and other gadgets that we hope will help us to feel accepted and good about ourselves. The resentment builds and our truth sinks deeper and deeper

Omtimes.com

into a silent inner prison. We have become willing, but disgruntled participates in the charade of falsities. Although the compliant surrender and suppressing of our individuality for something outside of ourselves is bigger than we are, conformity and compromising your authentic self is a dead end. The world no longer needs complacency and the safe and predictable. It needs our ideas and our genius. We have lost our individuality and uniqueness and we suffer, individually and culturally. Conformity solves nothing in this world. In the all-important and crucial areas of medicine, the environment, our energy needs, world hunger, politics and poverty, war and conflict, we also need new ideas, inventions, risk takers, out-ofthe-box thinkers, and those who are willing to tell the truth.

Be the Most You Can Be! Be the most that you can

be. Find what makes you unique and shout it out to the world. Every day there is the opportunity to approach the traditional and accepted with curiosity and clear vision. Thus, begin with yourself. Challenge your thoughts and your patterned way of relating to life. See the original within yourself, see it in others and you cannot help but express it in everything that you do. You are your security. There is no outside, government, corporation, cultural support or organization that is more reliable than you. Keep one hand in the heavens, always feeling around for the pure and magical. Plant your feet firm in the earth and do what you came here to do and be your truth. Soul Healing: How to Heal the Soul by Maggie Chula

Soul Healing Finding Deep Relief Soul healing is possible, and many people are searching for something to help them feel better. Whether we are upset with things in our private life, changes happening to

Omtimes.com

our society, or concerned about the Earth, it seems like nothing will help us feel happy or content again. No one is hearing the collective screams of our souls. What the heck is going on and how can we find relief? How do we continue to believe life is getting better when the news is full of issues and problems? Some of us do find a sense of relief. However, it seems as we go through the day our mind gravitates to the worse information, or emotions we have felt since we woke up. It is as if our mind is seeking out the darkness. We wait to be rescued by an explosion of light permeating our being and bringing the comfort we seek. While this does work for some, for the majority of us, we are out of luck. Each day is another ding to our mind,

a blow to our body, and a disconnect to our soul. This has to stop. But how?

Basic Steps to Soul Healing There is a way that has also been evolving as we become more aware of the intricate way our energies co mingle and cause us distress. Connecting to the life force we share, the source vibration of God, is a necessity to obtain and sustain the health of our soul. It is the basic ingredient to healing our life, our body, and sustaining mental health. The best part of this basic ingredient for healing on a soul level is, it is free, simple, and easy. Connecting to the source vibration, therefore, is as easy as breathing in the breath of life. Using the imagination to envision each breath as a

Omtimes.com

gift from God helps the mind and body relax. Thus, we instinctively know we need oxygen to maintain our bodies. We know air is life, air is healing. Embracing this wisdom as we breathe helps our body receive each breath as a healing vibration. This slows down the distress signals from the brain, and calms the nervous system. Another simple way to help ourselves and the people we love feel better right now, is to feel love for our life. Love for life everywhere we encounter it. If we also use our imagination to envision this love flowing to us from the source of God, through us to others, and surrounding our world in an infusion of pink energy, we will also feel better. Our vibration will be lifted, and our bodies will relax.

Omtimes.com

What Are the Next Steps? Our soul journey to heal our bodies and our mental state, will continue through our lifetime and for many lifetimes to come. It makes sense then, to learn these simple ways to maintain a basic state of health for our connection to our soul. But there is more we can do than just maintain our health. There are many tools we can find to heal our past and acknowledge the lessons we have learned throughout our soul’s existence. Time for an Intuition Tune Up by Marc Lainhart

Know Where Your Intuition Will Take You When you are aware and know how to tune-in to your own intuition, this can be one of the most important spiritual tools to have at your disposal for the many pathways that life may offer us. Listening to

Omtimes.com

your inner guidance system and the whispers of your heart and soul will lead you to many successful, inspiring, and lifechanging experiences and wonderful “soul adventures!”

Tune Up Your Intuition with These Methods: “Trust Your Gut” - We are the equipment, we are the compass; so, pay attention. No matter how good something looks, if it doesn’t feel right... Walk away! Garbage In - Garbage Out - Detox the body, improve the diet, rest, hydration. Dream Journaling - Write first thing in the morning and within minutes of waking up. Practice a creative art - Painting, playing guitar, sculpting, write a book. Lose yourself - in movies, music, plays, and dancing. Have a positive, inspiring, uplifting mantra or daily affirmation.

Go on a much-needed date with Mother Nature - Nature is our greatest teacher. Mindfulness - Master the inner ego, judgment, and opinions of the world. Meditation - Spend time in silence (listen and silent have the same letters). Take notice of your surroundings through your five senses. Improve the “sixth sense” and intuition by enhancing and improving the “known” five senses. Work with external tools such as an Oracle, Tarot, Numerology, Angel, Shamanic, or Animal Totem decks and cards. Test Hunches - Weather forecasts, head to the horse track, play along with the TV show Jeopardy, or other game shows to see who will win for that night. Write down a prediction on world events or upcoming information that would make the news, good, bad, or indifferent.

Omtimes.com

Daily routines of life Slow down; take the time to disconnect so that we can make the time to reconnect. Being too busy in life makes it very hard to be sensitive and hear the quiet voices of intuition, and whispers of our heart.

Practice These for Inner Wisdom Alignment: Use past experiences as a learning tool for the future How did those experiences make us feel? Heavy? Light? Negative? Positive? Look at the details of the situation in the past and also reflect on how the human “radar” system responded based on physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual triggers. Did you heed the warnings through feeling, thinking, hearing, or “knowing?” Feel into the experiences - The mind chatter or a bunch of “drunken monkeys” in the mind will never turn off or stop arguing with us until the day we pass into spirit, and leave the physical body. Intuition tends to work through feeling and moving past the fearful

Omtimes.com

and analytical mind. Engage in Motion - Tai Chi, Yoga, Qigong, Movement Flow, General Exercise or Weightlifting, Diaphragmatic Breathing, Gyrokinesis, Pilates, Nia Technique, MELT Method, etc. Practice being in your “observer” body and not your “ego” body.

Additional Alignments to Tune Up Intuitive Skills Align to Values - Find a “soul tribe,” community, or like minds. This will help, support, and mentor, while assisting in becoming more comfortable and confidant in intuition. The mind can steer us away from the spiritual path, values, goals, and our integrity; however, intuition never will. What does real intuition feel like? How can we behave and act in alignment to our values, goals, aspirations, and what we want for our lives through “true” intuition? All humans have the gift of intuition and its close relatives are inspiration and gratitude.

Therefore, it is no coincidence that “inspiration” contains the words “in spirit. Intuition is very subtle and does not yell at us. ‘Silent and Listen’ have the same letters, just spelled out differently. Are you listening? True intuition, gratitude, and inspiration flows to us from the spiritual, quantum realm or universal wisdom of the unseen world. Hence, develop “an attitude for gratitude,” with much positive thought and actions as possible. Pay attention to patterns and cycles in your life. As the old saying goes, “what we resist... persists.”

Intuition Has No Expiration Date Very often, all of us humans are trying to access our own intuition to gain answers, knowledge, and wisdom while we travel the many roads of life. Life can bring a range of different issues, choices, and experiences. These can range

from something very immediate in life to something more specific, such as relationships, career aspirations, or moving to another location in the world. Intuition has no timeline or “expiration date,” so have patience. Listen often, observe much, and practice daily in getting to know the voice of your own intuition. “The concepts of spirituality are typically the physics we haven’t understood yet.” -Nassim Haramein About the Author Marc Lainhart is an international and tested Spiritual PsychicMedium. Bullies Aren’t Just on the Playground by Julie Geigle

Bullies, Criticism, SelfTalk, and More We have more power over our lives than we realize and it all begins with our thoughts. Through our thoughts, we can either build ourselves up or tear ourselves down. Which are you doing?

Omtimes.com

Really take the time to pay attention to how you are treating yourself and what thoughts are popping into your head in regards to how you look, how you talk, how you act. Are you constantly putting yourself down and chastising yourself for what comes out of your mouth or how you look in the mirror? Stop. You wouldn’t treat a stranger that way, why would you treat yourself like that? From this moment on make a purposeful decision to be kind and loving to yourself, and if that’s too much of a stretch for you just simply stop criticizing yourself. Eliminate the Bullying Attitude Anytime a bullying attitude or negative thought comes into your mind or out of your mouth about yourself say, “I CANCEL, CLEAR AND DELETE THAT TIMES THREE.” Next, say each thought lovingly to yourself three times

daily and watch magical things begin to happen in your life: 1. I am my own unique self. 2. I have unlimited potential. 3. Events in my life are unfolding in magical and mysterious ways. I promise that if you make a concerted effort to catch those negative nellies from flying out of your mouth or floating around in your mind it will change your life. You are a powerful manifesting machine and speaking ill about yourself poisons and blocks your best intentions for creating a life you love. Bullies are not just on the playground; they are in your mind. Rise and take back your power and stop being a victim of yourself. As you heal the bully in your mind you also heal seven generations of bullies behind you and seven generations of bullies to come. Talk about being the change you wish to see!

Omtimes.com

Speaking of change… expand your awareness with wonderful words: omnific \om-NIF-ik\, adjective: Creating all things; having unlimited powers of creation. (source: dictionary.com) Omnific also occurs as omnificent and omnificence, a noun. Get those creative juices flowing because it’s time to step out and shine. Be all that you are because if you don’t, who will? No one, that’s who! There is not another person in this universe that has the same abilities, talents or skills that you have. There is not another being that can smile like you can, or laugh like you can or shake your derriere in that adorable way that you do. You are a powerful, magnificent being who did not come here to be a victim. Leap into your Divine greatness and unleash your omnificence. Angelic Reminders to Help Eliminate Bullies Remember if you hear, see or feel it three times it means your

We Are All Mother Nature’s Daughters by Mari Selby

Mother Nature’s Daughters Call to the Earth Feminine leadership is coming to the forefront. Consider the following quote: “And to rise out of the mush we have been caught in these 100’s of years and take flight in

Omtimes.com

the air of the emerging new story. The many flowers of mind & soul we now enter are those that belong to all cultures, to what I call PanGaia. And as the butterfly pollinates and cross pollinates from place to place, flower to flower, so do we if we have the will and the willingness to be part of this extraordinary moment in time.” –Jean Houston

Natural Leadership in an Imbalanced Ecosystem As Jean says, we are emerging into a new story. Our world has been out of balance for millennia. Can we stop another eco-disaster from occurring? What can we do to feel more powerful when media messages pummel us into powerlessness and submission? Do we really want to be a woman that is smiling all the time? A woman who smells fresh as a daisy, or has shining perfect hair? Being feminine doesn’t only mean being soft and nice. Where in nature do we see images that are smiling, soft, sweet and nice? We

see beauty everywhere, however tornadoes aren’t nice. Hurricanes indiscriminately rip apart cities and the countryside. Tonight, the rain has been battering our gardens. Nature is in balance with ferocity and gentleness, compassion and survival, purification and growth. The cycles we experience in our bodies, the wisdom we gain from experience, our passions, tell us that we are mirrors for, and daughters of, Mother Nature.

Embracing Feminine Leadership Power As we become more aware we can see that conscious, radiant feminine leadership has the power to set the world to rights. Becoming a feminine leader means emulating the balance in nature, while feeling more joy, and more pleasure in the moment. As women leaders, we offer empowerment to all who we touch. Being a leader can mean saying “No,” meaning “No,” and standing on your “No.” Leadership can mean being the best Mother you can be. Being a leader may mean daring to do something you have been afraid of doing for Omtimes.com

fear that you won’t do it well the first time out of the box. Leadership may mean discovering your role models and being guided by their example. Being a leader may mean stepping out in the community to create a community garden, or more recycling for your area. Leadership may also mean running for an elected office to have your voice and those people you touch heard. Being a leader may mean allowing your imagination room freedom to explore and create. Leadership comes in as many forms as we do, and is only limited by our imaginations.

Mother Nature’s Daughters Born to Lead the Way Despite a persistent myth, no one is a “born leader”. The qualities of leadership are in every one of us. Some people are blessed with the nurturance, encouragement and support to fully embody their leadership qualities. Too often, as women we either turn to our fathers, lovers, husbands, and brothers for

Omtimes.com

approval. Thus, we bury those innate qualities of leadership and courage. We may struggle to recover those qualities through desperation, or despair, or tribulation. Or we women can “pass it forward” to support each other in our process of stepping out into the world and daring to show our passions. We can be mentors for each other, we can form supportive networks to light the way for others women. As Benjamin Disraeli said, “The greatest good you can do for another is not just share your riches, but reveal to them their own.” As Mother Nature’s daughters, we can embrace our leadership role. About the Author Currently the director of Selby Ink, a publicity and marketing firm, Mari promotes authors to develop name recognition through traditional publicity efforts as well as social media. Selby Ink specializes in the genres of body, mind, spirit, relationships, environmental issues, and social justice. www. selbyink.com

The Insight of Mystical Thinking in Uncertain Times by Judi Lynch

Mystical Thinking Can Come in Handy Verily, these are incredible times; so, mystical thinking can be important. We are witnessing a great change brought about by a great

Omtimes.com

divide in the way we all see the world and our future. It seems that everything is up for renegotiation. Our senses are stirring with action and motion with the need to come together. Humanity appears to be in peril. This is a time to reflect on what we believe in as individuals and how we see the evolution of man, to cherish the spiritual consciousness which guides our souls. The anxiety in the air is palpable for those who live their life from the source. It becomes a necessary practice to acknowledge and filter where fearful energy is originating from. We must be able to find the joys in life as well as meet its challenges. It doesn’t mean we must shut off our feelings but we really have to watch which ones we feed and nurture.

Our Mystical Thinking Connects Us All Remember life here on Earth is unique for every one of us. Our views depend on where we’re physically located, our financial status, spiritual beliefs, religion, ancestry, life experience, courage, health and a host of other factors. Deeper inside of us all lives a knowledge that we are truly all connected by our humanity. If we are megasensitive to every negative event that occurs in the world daily, it begins to have a very damaging effect on our hearts and minds. Our lives are purposeful when we give them purpose. Keeping our minds centered, balanced and focused can become a challenge without certain ingredients to help us cope in a healthy way. Looking

Omtimes.com

inward, remembering what we’ve learned, what our own truths are can be a big help. We can slow down our anxious minds with meditation, prayer, exercise, nature, music, journaling, art. Any activity that reminds us that life also holds joy, wonder and excitement.

Our Spiritual Existence Seeks Nourishment We have a metaphysical, spiritual existence that is just waiting to be nourished and held dear. A light filled journey the soul is happy to bring to you if you ask. Educating the mind of those things unseen but felt and heard can be a saving grace to the life you may feel you incarnated here for. Courage is gained every time we can learn to take a challenging situation to see its purpose and solutions for healing. When we learn how to heal

Omtimes.com

our own minds from negative thinking, we start creating again. When we create, our lives begin to evolve. As we learn new concepts and ways of living, we share. As we share we turn on the light for others to have the same courage. Beyond religion, heritage and any other past influence we have the power of illumination if we listen. The souls who realize that humans evolve spiritually will also change physically to create the future before it gets here. They will see the inventions that need to be built.

Mystical Thinking Brings Humanity Hope The manufactured medicines we will no longer need. Their minds will be connected in a new way and form. These mystical thinking, magical practitioners will bring

humanity into a future with hope, healing and heart. They will never give up in making life better. When it looks as if everything may be falling apart in the world, in the minds of the mystical it’s the beginning of a new era of change. The forces of egotistical, selfish, and bigoted behavior are being revealed. In that revelation, there is a bigger force of love which will come together to override any pathos. If we are living here as awakened spiritual beings, we know Eros. We have a cosmic book inside us that describes the miraculous beauty of our beginning. If we read that book and know our truths, we know that our existence is incredible and amazing. We are walking, talking

beings with the ability to connect our hearts and minds through energy and thought. We will learn how to speak up and speak out for what we believe in. When we open the shiny, mystical parts of our humanity, we will recognize the future is brighter than we could have imagined. About the Author Judi Lynch is a psychic medium, intuitive counselor, healing channel and author. She is president of the Crystal Healing Foundation, Inc. a 501(c) spiritual charity and writer for OM Times Magazine. The Divine Feminine and Return of the Sacred Wisdom of Creation by Elohim Yael

Sacred Wisdom of Creation in Harmony The patriarchal traditions symbolize the archetype of Lilith symbolizes sensual desire and fury, as something to be tamed. However, her archetype shows us several keys for harmonizing

Omtimes.com

the imbalance between the masculine and feminine. Use these for freeing ourselves from repressed or unconscious inner feminine parts. When each one of us takes responsibility for this rebalancing process, we empower the feminine. We set her pure power of creation free, both in ourselves and collectively. This way the feminine (in us) can fully step into her part of divine cocreation with the masculine and fulfill her true role on the path of living in harmony.

The Shadow and the Struggle The previous four articles on Lilith capture how the once harmonic unity of masculine and feminine continued in misbalance during the rise of the masculine oriented system. The masculine focus on form and its tangibility put the own-form, the own race, color and the individual identification above the others. This subjected brothers, men and women to a great divide for centuries to come.

And it also led to inner wandering and to constraint of the experience of freedom. As the own-form and appearance - the outer - was put first, all perceived to be tangible and visible oppressed the nontangible and non-visible of the inner (world) towards the background. It ‘disappeared’ and fell into the shadow of not being conscious of it anymore, leading to inner wandering. Furthermore, the feminine struggled deeply in face of the patriarchal system. She felt it was necessary to secure her position and her experience of freedom by setting conditions. While doing so, one part of the feminine retreated and the other, that Lilith represents, escaped reality and fell into shadow. This caused a huge inner conflict. Unable to recognize what happened the feminine stepped out of her own wholeness, both parts feeling abandoned and victimized. The inability to see what truly lies underneath the appeared distance kept the feminine in

Omtimes.com

denying her own responsibility for the removal with the masculine and herself.

Going on to Imagine Infinite Love By acknowledging this wounded pattern within our inner feminine (parts), we start the healing process. We must reconnect with all feminine aspects - the good, the lesser, the sorrow and unconscious or shadow parts - and face the layers of denial and condemnation of herself. Then, when truly opening our hearts and letting all of this in, we can make peace with it and take back the ownership where it once was lost. This is what Lilith invites us to do: • Imagine what can be possible when filling our inner wounds with infinite love. • Imagine how these floods of universal unconditional love touch us deeply and graciously, and what then can be restored, also collectively.

Omtimes.com

This unconditional love indeed includes the unconditional love of the masculine. The feminine believed the heart of the masculine was too small to give her sufficient space. In fact, the pure core of the masculine never stopped cherishing her. His love is grand and heartening. Accordingly, it seems unavoidable that if the feminine will keep on setting conditions towards the masculine and his love, she herself will limit her true power of connecting. In this true power of (re)connecting lies her pure creation potential.

The Return of Sacred Wisdom of Creation This potential is set free when regaining the whole ownership of the feminine, for this also leads to reclaiming ownership of her pure potential of bearing and motherhood. It involves the Sacred Wisdom of Creation cradled in the pelvis area and includes, for example, our natural and intuitive abilities, the creative flow of inner knowing, and inspiration. By fully recon-

necting with all our feminine parts and by unconditionally opening to the masculine, the true infinite wisdom of cradling creation is empowered and its potential set free.

aspects of divine co-creation, within yourself and collectively. As here lies the path towards living in harmony, a new world of divine oneness. Please join us in doing so.

Therefore, it is essential to trust the love of the masculine (part in ourselves) unconditionally. We can welcome this loving care and full support entirely and open-heartedly. This way our inner feminine can truly connect with his love and with this feed and empower his carry-full support. For him to keep on supporting her and so on. This starts an infinite love dance of creation, in which the feminine takes full responsibility for her divine part in the co-creation allowing the masculine to do the same.

We encourage your connection with these previous four articles in this series:

Sacred Wisdom from Primal Energies The female primal energies, such as Mary, Isis, Lilith, Sarah and Hagar, Innana, Astarte/Asera, Tiamat, and many others, invite you to set this straight. Use this sacred wisdom open heartedly and deep inside to harmonize the

4. Making peace with the Feminine struggle 3. The heart of the Feminine struggle 2. Making Lilith and her Shadow visible again 1. Lilith, shadowing the Feminine dilemma About the Author Through her articles and gatherings Yael reminds us of unconditional compassion. This is an important step on the path towards living in harmony. She invites us to experience a deep connection with both ourselves and the whole as heartily as possible. Yael embodies the Elohim essence. This means she is connected to the universe from a clear awareness of harmony and unity. www.ajourneyoflight.uk

5 Questions to Ask to Help You Throw Out Your Head Trash by Heather O’Neill

Five Questions to Sort the Head Trash Head trash--it’s that stuff in our heads that we spend time engaged with instead of putting it where it belongs-in the garbage!! But until we

Omtimes.com

recognize it as such, we call it truth and then obsess on the things it is holding us hostage believing. It’s the “I’m just not good enough,” “my partner isn’t giving me what I want and need,” and “I don’t have enough money and time,” junk. Since our actions stem from how we feel inside, if we are letting the trash do the talking then what goes on around us is going to seem like garbage as well. So here are five questions we can ask ourselves to help identify it and work on throwing it out! 1. How do I tell my stories? Think about a recent experience and rate the story that was told about it. 1-5 would be focused mostly on what was bothersome about it or what didn’t live up to expectations. 1 being nothing at all about it felt good. 5-10

would be mostly focused on what was liked, 10 being totally focused on the good stuff. When we engage in this inner research around our stories we can begin to gauge where our focus lies. Then we can decide where we aspire to be speaking from going forward and begin to adjust our stories accordingly. 2. How do I speak to myself? More often than we realize, we speak to ourselves extremely harshly and in ways that we would never speak to someone we loved. If our loved ones make a mistake we usually love and support them through the learning. It’s worth listening very closely to the way we speak to ourselves and to pick words that we would use with those we love. We deserve the very same treatment!

Omtimes.com

3. How do I define myself? When we talk about ourselves we don’t often lead with our stellar qualities. Many times, we share the things we feel we are not good at. And even further we might engage in self-deprecating comments! What is that stuff?? It’s garbage. Who we show up as is who we believe ourselves to be. If we don’t think we are good at something we don’t need to give energy to that sentiment. We can choose to give energy to what we believe we ARE good at. It’s not about being ego driven, it’s about which beliefs we give energy too. It’s OK to want to feel good about ourselves. 4. What do my relationships mean to me? Those on a spiritual path

Omtimes.com

know that our relationships are where we put the pedal to the metal. They are the grounds for our true spiritual growth. Especially those we are in merely out of circumstance. i.e.) those we work with. The relationships we “have” to be in can ultimately serve as our biggest opportunities for growth when we don’t let them drag us into being someone we don’t want to be. We can view them as the greatest place for us to practice being our best self. And we can practice that in any relationship. Even the ones we have the most expectation from. But in those relationships, we can ask for feedback. We can use them as mirrors to what is going on inside our self. And we can join forces to

continue to grow to be who we seek to be within. 5. How clear is the window to my soul? Remember a window should support vision from within and without. And when we have a lot of head trash floating around it clouds up that window. When we are not clear on who we want to show up as, or what we desire in our relationships, or how we feel about ourselves than neither is the universe. Clarity throws out the garbage. Yes, our desires will always be shifting. And that is fine. But when things are not clear, all we get in return is more murkiness. A wonderful exercise to support this clarity is to write down a sentence or two about what we want in

the following areas: health, family, love relationship, friendships, career and spiritual life. When we do this, we send clear messages to the universe. And then we are not creating through head trash. We then create through clarity. About the Author Heather O’Neill is a Certified Law of Attraction Personal Life Coach and Reiki Master Teacher. How to Ignite New Possibilities by Crystal Presence

New Possibilities in Human Consciousness As we make the biggest shift in human consciousness, we also wonder how to bring resolution to the chaos, suffering and struggle we see in the world. We strive to bring forth a new kind of leadership and find ourselves sometimes wondering if chaos, suffering and

Omtimes.com

struggle are “just how life is”? If not, how do we ignite new possibilities? One thing we have learned is that resistance, avoidance, and complaining about the problems never works. What we resist, persists. The problems we resist will always show up again in different forms, times and places. The question, therefore, is are we part of the resolution or part of the problem? “We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when creating them.” --Albert Einstein

An Example of Bringing New Possibilities A good example is Mary, who is always looking for a way to have a better relationship with her husband. She resists his way of thinking and tries to control and manipulate him to see things her way. She talks about it, argues about it and builds up resentment when her husband does not “get it”. Her husband grows more resistant, resentful and less

affectionate. By not facing their issues their resistance persists. These behaviors keep them feeling disconnected and separate from themselves and one another. Visionary and author Esther Hicks has said, “Problems are unsuccessful attempts to resolve difficulties.” Deep inside we know that the problems we have are of our own making, and now we are also facing a major global breakdown-breakthrough. We feel vulnerable as we watch our systems breaking down (politics, government, education, medicine, religion, institutions and relationships). So, we find ourselves reaching out with a stronger motivation to ask new questions.

Investigating New Possibilities Considering that we need to be open to new possibilities, the following are some of powerful questions we can be asking ourselves: What is the nature of

experiencing ourselves as part of the resolution? Is the nature of telling the stories of resolutions past, present and future? What is the nature of experiencing a new and resolution oriented leadership?

incredible access that we have to see the solutions.” Jean inspires us to be pioneers in this exciting time in human history. She encourages us to explore, interact, connect and listen to the stories of resolution that are arising from all around the world.

The following are some things to remember as we look for new resolutions:

With our hearts and souls engaged for change, we know that we are part of a new level of leadership rising from all walks of life. We find the way to cross the divide between ourselves and others, locally, and globally. Through deep meditation, we discover new qualities in ourselves, widening our horizons, and staying in alignment with ourselves.

• When a problem comes into focus so does the resolution. • Every question has an answer. • Change is inevitable. • Changing beliefs will change our realities. • Focus on the good news.

• We shape our future by being resolution oriented role models for the children.

We move with passion, understanding and listening deeply to ourselves and others. This enables us to feel ourselves igniting new possibilities for resolution.

5 Things You Need to Know about Ego Energy! by Nickolas Martin

Ego Energy Influences Us in Different Ways Ego can affect us in many ways we may not even grasp. Consider these five ego influences: • Ego profoundly impacts your health and happiness for better or worse. Omtimes.com

• Ego works to ensure your daily and mortal survival in ways that can lead to suffering. • It has no awareness of itself but you can become aware of what ego is doing to your life. • Ego has no awareness of God but can negatively impact movement on your spiritual path. • It is possible for you to heal with ego medicine to bring this energy into balance. What Working with People Can Teach Us Over 35 years of working with people in various roles and contexts has taught me that a person’s ego energy exerts a profound, pervasive and relentless influence on the quality of life we can live. This influence is also reflected in relationships, our ability to love ourselves, how well we

achieve and come to know our life’s purpose, our ability to grow our mind-or not, the capacity we have to experience genuine happiness, and our ability to deal with change, adversity, stressors/stress and conflict. When ego energy is healthy and balanced, things go well in each of these key life areas. When it is imbalanced, various degrees of difficulty occur in these mirrors to our life. Ego ultimately has a positive purpose. It is trying to help you survive in the daily and mortal sense which most would agree is a good thing. Survival efforts manifest in our thoughts, words, behaviors, emotions, and even physiology as we negotiate the key life areas mentioned earlier. When our ego energy is healthy and balanced, we aren’t just surviving but living-really living in those key life areas. When it’s imbalanced, life

is mainly about survival and suffering often becomes its companion. Suffering reflected in many of those key life areas within the words, thoughts, feelings, etc. we resort to in the name of our survival. Often, leading to a journey into more and more mindlessness and spiritual unconsciousness from which it is difficult to awaken.

can by cultivating your ego consciousness with what I wish to share with you via my trilogy of books written for this purpose-Ego Therapy, EgoSpiritualism, and The Two Voices Within.

Ego has no awareness of the energy it is or its impact on our lives, for better or worse.

Absent an intellect, it does not know who you are, what God is, or even what it is. Consequently, it is not out to “edge God out.” However, ego energy imbalance can have a negative impact upon your spiritual consciousness. This imbalance leads to the construction of ego illusions involving: unworthiness, inequality, separation, sensing all energy, disorder and egoic control.

It does not possess an intellectual or intentional capacity-it’s energy. This is completely different from many representations of ego which ascribe an intentional quality. It has a profound purpose-your survival-but does not act with volition. Absent a consciousness containing an intellect and intention, it cannot heal itself where needed. But you

Ego has no awareness of God; it makes no direct attempt to impact our spirituality or relationship with God.

These illusions really come to the forefront when we are

working hard to survive and keep us firmly locked into the “little picture” of earthly life. These block us from seeing the big spiritual picture in which we come to fully know the love, life, and energy that God is, and the “great gifts” of life, creating life, eternal life, and God within, which anyone who has ever lived may receive. We Can Heal Ego Energy As I said earlier, you can heal your ego energy where needed. This healing involves using what I refer to as ego medicine. Briefly, it involves: 1) coming to know what ego is and isn’t; 2) tuning into your specific ego energy to determine whether imbalance in its power, flexibility, or vulnerability are at work in your life; and 3) using ego related reality based thinking to replace ego related non-reality based thinking. Each of the books

in the trilogy facilitates this healing process so that you can live the great life. When you look at the view of Earth from space, you are immediately in awe of what you do see: the incredible beauty of Creation. It is not until you look closer that you realize what you do not see. You do not see lines partitioning countries. You do not see separation between races. You do not see division between religions. You do not see the walls people build to isolate themselves from each other. There is only One Planet. There is only One Humanity. This section is dedicated to introducing thoughts and ideas to foster a greater understanding of Humanity’s interdependence.

Nonviolence and the Use of Force by Arthur Telling

Nonviolence Under the Looking Glass At a Buddhist temple in Sacramento, California, a young American nun was answering questions for a mostly Burmese congregation. Buddhism teaches nonviolence. A man who had recently

returned from a violence torn area in Myanmar (Burma) asked the nun what to do when his village comes under attack from Muslims. The nun responded that violence was not ever to be used, not even in defense of home or village. Many in the audience became angry upon hearing the nun’s seeming insensitive words. Another man stood, complaining that if they didn’t defend themselves their families and friends would be wiped out and their treasured Buddhism would cease to exist. The Theravada Buddhist nun held fast, repeating earlier words that as Buddhists they should not, under any circumstance, raise a finger against anyone. The nun was doctrinairely right; Buddha instructed to never at all harm, by intent, sentient beings. But this American nun -- who was not Burmese and perhaps not

exposed to such aggression -was she giving the appropriate advice? Might there be a more practical middle-ground for villagers who are lay Buddhists and not monastics? Can a Buddhist people justify defensive violence and not abandon their principles? As practitioners of whatever our faith and principles, we are at differing levels of experiential understanding. In the Buddhist practice, a monk, purifying his mind, grows in spiritual power and personal strength, his strengthening aura affecting those in his proximity and beyond. There are stories of these powerful men; such as a Mahayana Buddhist Master. He rode in the back of a bus as thieves robbed the passengers individually. On reaching the master, the thieves immediately knew he was a holy man, and instead of robbing him, they knelt at his feet and asked forgiveness.

The story is true, according to the monk’s disciples. If this man were in a village overrun by Muslim aggressors, he would stand in the path of the aggressors. Yet, he would hold respect for them, knowing in his mind they are his misguided brothers. If his spiritual power is great, they will turn away. Otherwise they may kill him, or beat him, or bypass him and continue their attack. Regardless, the monk is or was true to his principles and will enjoy a holy spiritual plane upon death. An Ordinary Man, with a Duty The other case is the ordinary man, practicing Buddhism, with duty to family and community. He has a responsibility to his village, and so must fight, if necessary. But as a Buddhist he must it without attachment, upholding the values of the high-level monk in his imagination, but not affording it in his physical actions. He

Omtimes.com

must fight without anger, without malice, praying for the souls of his dying adversaries. In so doing the cycle of violence should begin to crumble. As with the highlevel monk the thoughts of the more ordinary of men will impact those in their proximity, and given time, peace between the warring factions may more likely come. And the Buddhist who dies in this way will enter a higher spiritual plane than he otherwise would, not dragged down by a hatred for others. Karmic attachment will not happen. Is Nonviolence the Way Forward? But should violence really be justified? The nun could be right after all. Perhaps total nonviolence will prove to be ultimately the secure way to peace. We see political and social movements dedicated to nonviolence. However, the passive resistance can cause harm by shaming adversary. We

can point to Martin Luther King of the American civil rights movement, and Mahatma Gandhi of the Indian revolt against occupying Britain. But it would be a cruel and difficult lesson watching family and friends harmed, doing nothing to intervene, particularly when there is wherewithal for halting the attack. The differing beliefs of the world religions indicate that this issue remains unsettled. Hindus justify fighting, as a path of activity, done as a duty with detachment. Jewish history justifies wars of selfdefense. Christianity’s “love your neighbor as yourself” and “turn the other cheek” demands strict adherence to nonviolence. However, when the Pope formerly held worldly power, the Catholic Church created Just War doctrine for justifiable use of force. Nonviolence A Personal Matter The defining difference for

individuals is the view and importance the individual attaches to nonviolent teachings in these religions. As to the degree that nonviolence should extend is ultimately a deeply personal matter dependent on our private understandings of our own purpose for living and our place in the world, and to the truths behind the principles to which we adhere.
