Dr. Amit Goswami “The Everything Answer Book” Interview by Sylvia Henderson
The Everything Answer Book - How Quantum Physics Explains Love, Death, and the Meaning of Life Sylvia Henderson: Dr. Amit Goswami and is an award-winning Quantum Omtimes.com
Activist and a Theoretical Quantum Physicist. Dr. Amit Goswami became internationally recognized. He appeared in the film “What the Bleep Do We Know” and, later, appeared in its sequel called “Down the Rabbit Hole,” as well as the documentary “Dalai Lama Renaissance” and the awardwinning documentary “The Quantum Activist.” He is currently a pioneer of the new paradigm of science called “Science Within Consciousness” an idea he applies in his seminal book “The Self-Aware Universe” where he also solves the quantum measurement problem elucidating the famous observer effect. Since then, Dr. Amit Goswami has written many other popular books based on his research on quantum physics and consciousness. We can site among them: “The Visionary Window,” “Physics of the Soul,” “The Quantum Doctor,” “Creative Evolution,” “God Is Not Dead,” “How Quantum Activism Can Save Civilization,” “Quantum Creativity,” “Think
Quantum, Be Creative,” “Quantum Economics,” “Unlocking the Power and Economics of Consciousness,” and his soon to be released book “The Everything Answer Book - How Quantum Science Explains Love, Death and the Meaning of Life.” Sylvia Henderson: Dr. Goswami, there are so many profound insights that you have shared from your soon-to-be-released book “The Everything Answer Book How Quantum Science Explains Love, Death and the Meaning of Life.” You have provided such a brilliantly layered pathway for the reader to follow while you explain everything through the reality of consciousness. Why is it important for us to view ourselves, our world, our experiences, and all the existence, really, from consciousness space science

versus Newtonian matterbased science?
ground of everything.
Dr. Amit Goswami:
So, when you say consciousness, --what is consciousness? You talk about local consciousness and then non-local consciousness. What do you mean by that?
Yes, this is the most important question to start with. Newtonian matter based science and their science only to the extent that we are machines and, admittedly, we do have some conditioning in our existence and behavior. We do have a genetic disposition, and that conditions us to some extent. Then we have conditioning that we grow up with, such as nurture, that part also objective, and then quantum physics admits we do have reincarnation so past-life conditioning, too, contributes to our condition existence. Beyond that, we have creativity. Beyond, we have feelings, we have intuition. These experiences are beyond what a machine can experience. Quantum Physics has come along, and it has given us a new basis to look at things, and that is the basis we are talking about today. Consciousness is the
Omtimes.com
Sylvia Henderson:
Dr. Amit Goswami: Quantum Physics says that there are two domains of reality. One domain is where we have Sensorial experiences, as we experience, you know, sensing, thinking, feeling, intuition. All these things come with objective experience and we, as the subject of experience, experience these objects. So, that is the consciousness that is explicit, that is manifest. Then, Quantum Physics also says that there is a domain of potentiality in which all objects of experience become potentiality, possibility way, and this is what consciousness is. Consciousness is that domain of potentiality. It
consists of multipotentiality of subjects and the potentiality of objects, and when we choose from the potentiality of objects, then that is the manifestation conversion of potentiality into actuality that means something to you. So, in the domain of potentiality, the consciousness is unconscious. Sylvia Henderson: I see. So, in our local consciousness, the subject of experience, we live in a 3-D reality that is influenced heavily by the concept of duality. From a quantum physics perspective, is duality a reality within this non-local consciousness of potentiality?
Dr. Amit Goswami: Yes. I should have mentioned that what I am calling the domain of potentiality is also a domain of oneness. There is no distinction between consciousness and its possibilities, and the domain of oneness is also visualized as a domain in which communication is
instantaneous without signals. Therefore, we call it non-local, a signal-less communication. Whereas, in space/time domain of reality, we call it local because communication requires signals which always take a finite amount of time going through space. A signal going through space taking a finite amount of time is always involved in communication in space and time. Therefore, we call it local consciousness, so in that way. Now, of course, ideas become most important when we recognize that both domains are important for functioning. It is not one versus the other. The unconscious contributes to what we experience in the conscious. Sylvia Henderson: So, the non-local consciousness, could this also be defined as God, or the Dao, or the Universe? From a spiritual point of view, how would one look at non-local consciousness as a defined concept, is that correct?
Omtimes.com
Dr. Amit Goswami:
discoverer of quantum physics, had this oneness experience “I am the whole world.” I have experienced this, and many people have experienced this. So, that is the kind of oneness that quantum physics posits, that reality at the level of potentiality is about.
A very good point. Indeed, spiritual traditions call it God, but you have to be a little bit careful. If you are looking for God in water, then fish would have discovered it, and that it is neither here nor there makes it very clear that it is nowhere to be found in space and time. You should look at it outside of space and time which suggests something like oneness. So, is God non-local consciousness, yes?
Can you talk a little bit about the observer of our thoughts and our experiences?
Sylvia Henderson:
Dr. Amit Goswami:
It really does depend on our definition of God then does it not?
Yes, basically this is the important part of quantum physics. How it gave us one consciousness as the reality of potentiality. So, that means everything is one. Then comes the question of “Alright so what do we call it, what do we call this oneness”?
Dr. Amit Goswami: Yes. If you recognize God as a oneness experience. These experiences are not very uncommon, you know when we walk in the forest, or we look at the vast ocean, or even the beauty of a sunset, sometimes we fall into this oneness of consciousness where it feels like we are one with everything. Many people, including the
Omtimes.com
Sylvia Henderson:
That is where the observer effect comes in. We notice that when we measure - I said before that measurement or observation changes people’s potentiality into the actuality of our experience an observer
is essential for that - so what is the observer doing? If you look at it, then something a little paradoxical because before the conversion of potentiality into actuality observer himself or herself, the brain, is a potentiality. It is just a wave of opportunity. It is not an actual brain. There is no manifest brain. So, the process of conversion of potentiality into actuality, not only is the object created but also the observer is created. Sylvia Henderson: So, from the awareness of potentiality and multiple possibilities, you also talk about the importance of creativity, that it is very vital. In doing so, you also talk about suffering being a catalyst, or the catalyst, behind creativity. As you know, humanity wishes not to suffer, but is suffering purposefully for humanity to expand and grow creatively? Dr. Amit Goswami: Well, all the sufferings is
certainly an important one, and we have to consider it because of some people, including myself, are not attracted towards getting beyond our machine existence unless we are pushed badly by suffering. I did require suffering initially but now, my curiosity is aroused, and I do not need to suffer anymore to investigate the reality of oneness and all of this nice pain - values, love, beauty, justice, truth, which also is part of that same exploration. I do not need suffering anymore. My curiosity propels me all over the world looking for all these things and changing myself into a transformed person. So, I hope that the listeners are encouraged by this. Suffering very good, but you do not really have to sustain suffering dynamic for very long. Once you get the taste of what this building of potentiality works for you - all these wonderful possibilities that are open to us are only subjects for our creative exploration.
Omtimes.com
Sylvia Henderson: Well, I most definitely prefer the curiosity road map to suffering myself. So how does one begin to get a taste of that oneness? How does one begin to choose curiosity over suffering? Does meditation aid in that process? Dr. Amit Goswami: Yes, if we can listen to this sage advice that is given to us from age-old spiritual traditions if we could listen to that? I mean, I was told in my childhood - because I grew up in a kind of spiritual society - but life took me in a different direction. Thus, I could not stay with that kind of advice. I tried meditating early as a teenager, but never really got behind it. So, for me, suffering was essential. This was my favorite dream if we can build a society with the new quantum knowledge, where we teach meditation, we teach yoga, and stuff like that, there would be many, many minds slowing down, and exercises which
Omtimes.com
would allow our creative motivations just out of curiosity. We would not be so careless about our suffering being so important to us at a major stage of our life. Sylvia Henderson: You know, you touched on something that I think is important for people to hear and that is mind slowing down exercises that opens the door and allows us to move beyond our suffering. So, why is that? What is it about slowing down our thoughts, our mind, to allow us to do this? Dr. Amit Goswami: When we slow down, our unconscious takes over. This is the thing, Sylvia, this is the crucial thing. Creativity consists of both doing and being. If we are into doing and constantly changing, all doing comes with thinking and so the mind is constantly occupied. There is no scope for the unconscious for this oneness to come into play. Unconscious is the oneness, so if you want the oneness
to play a role and the values that govern the oneness to come into our life, then we have got to give the unconscious a chance. Of course, every night you sleep that is true, and that is unconscious, but the problem is that if we do not prepare enough, then sleep does not come to our aid very much. So much more help is unconscious episodes during our waking hours, and we gain that through slowing down our thoughts and slowing down our feelings. It turns out we are in the unconscious and in that unconscious what happens is that the objects of potentiality they grow. And, of course, given the choice what could be deduced from it, a bigger pool of potentiality or a small pool of possibility? Obviously, we choose a bigger pool of potentiality. Sylvia Henderson: Dr. Goswami, one of the things you talk about in that book is what the Newtonian Science touches upon
which is the conditioned mind; but what Quantum Physics explains so well the concept of Dharma and even reincarnation and how they inter-relate, to be an endless journey. How do Karma, Dharma, and reincarnation have an impact on someone in that situation? Dr. Amit Goswami: This is such an important question, especially in the culture we live in today. After the 5th Century A.D., because of political reasons, Christianity tried to welcome the concept of reincarnation, and this caused a lot of cognitive dissonance in this along with Psychologists in how to get a good hold on what the problem is with human development. The problems decidedly that are in reincarnation karma, as you put it, influences us greatly and karma is nothing but propensities or habit patterns that remain from our past lives. Now some of these habit patterns are good, for example learning to learn, that
Omtimes.com
is a very good habit. Learning to process meaning is a very good habit. Being purposeful is a very good habit. Learning to love is a very good habit, but there are also, likewise, very bad habits. Procrastination, lack of forgiveness, lack of acceptance, these are very bad habits that we also hold, and if we have only bad habits, then these bad habits will prevent us from creative exploration. So, that is the problem with karma. When you say bad karma, we do not mean that we have done some wrong to somebody and that somebody is going to get us, no. Nature is what is going to get us. Bad karma means we have developed some bad habits, and those bad habits are going to keep us away from investigating the new and investigating what makes us happy. Like love, beauty, and abundance. These things make us happy. So, this is the problem of karma.
Omtimes.com
Dharma is another very beautiful concept. It turns out that before we come into this life, we choose the kind of Archetype, which includes objects that we wonder about that everyone wants to explore like love, beauty, justice, wholeness, that I have already mentioned several times. You know, who does not want to explore love? Who does not want to explore beauty? Who does not want abundance in his or her life? These are the things that we want, but the question is, you know, we never find them. Some of us are forever dissatisfied because we never found what type of Archetype that would give us the happiness that we seek, the satisfaction that we seek. The answer is that it comes from the incarnation you had chosen before you died the last time, and you must remember it. Of course, we also choose to birth, which is supposed to be helpful to remind us.
For example, if you want to explore music, this Archetype of beauty, then you would choose a musical family to be born into so that the remembrance comes easily. But, you know, it may also happen that you were born in a musical family, but then your parents divorced, and you moved away from the musical family. So, it is very important for everybody to make a concerted effort. If you are not satisfied with your life, that is a sure sign that you have not found your Dharma, the Archetype that you chose for yourself to explore in this life. Sylvia Henderson: You know, one of the other things you talk about, which I found very interesting, was Poker Karma. That explains why we are not exact duplicates of our previous lives. Would you mind talking about that? You were talking about how you could be dealt five cards of information from your past life, but then the rest of it is kind of randomized.
Dr. Amit Goswami: Yes, very important information. I am glad you raised that issue. Let me tell you about the data that was collected by a past life regression therapist in Ohio. He, David Klein, had many people that he regressed to past lives and kept a regular journal of all these people’s data. And he found that many of his clients were talking about lifetimes, consecutive lifetimes, and he started to compare the propensities that karma brought in each of these lifetimes. He found that the propensities of being are not cumulative. You do not bring all the propensities that you gathered in your immediate past life. So, why do you bring only a portion of it? This is the question that arises. In fact, Klein called this Poker Karma. Like you do not play all 52 cards in poker, you play with only five or seven cards. So, the analogy appears that you only bring a small number of propensities out of your whole bunch of
Omtimes.com
cumulative propensities. Why is that? That is because you want to use those propensities for a specific archetype to explore. For example, in my own life, I have known that I came to explore the archetype of wholeness, and that requires propensities that I have. You will find the Archetype which is particularly suited. Those propensities are particularly suited for the archetype you chose. Now, I got rid of a lot suffering because there are many life circumstances which did not allow me to stay within the lives that I had started. I was not following the Archetype of Wholeness for the bulk of my life, and I knew that I could change my life, and in the course of that, I recognized that I have to integrate my life and livelihood and all these concepts. Sylvia Henderson: There are other things that you touch upon in your book is about unprocessed emotions,
Omtimes.com
and how they can affect us, especially physically. Why is it so important that we process our emotions, from a quantum physics point of view, why is that so important? Dr. Amit Goswami: Yes, this question of emotion is a very important one because, you know, we are born with this negative emotional brain circuit which, of course, plays havoc with us. Those emotions that we recognize as anger, love, competitiveness, jealousy, envy and all those things, they create so many problems for us. But they are built into us so we cannot do very much about them except to realize that it is in our power to make positive emotions as well. You do not have them in the brain as you are born, but we can make them; we can build them in our brain by creative exploration of the Archetype. For example, if we explore the Archetype of love. We can create positive emotions to replace those other emotions of
anger and jealousy and hatred and negative judgments. We can balance them with positive emotional brain circuits. Start to explore the Archetype of love, which is not difficult because this is one of the Archetypes which is built into us. We do not have to really get initiated by making any big fanfare of exploration. It is built into us in the sense that we have an immune system in our body in the form of one part of it is called the Thymus Gland. It is in the region of the heart, and the job of the Thymus Gland is to distinguish between me and not me. Now, when a stimulus comes to us like you are going on the street and a person of the opposite sex comes at you, and you look at him, you look at her, and I am having these enormous feelings in my Heart Chakra. Familiar, yes, tingles in the heart, heartwarming, what does it signify? It is built into us. So you have recognized the other as part of you. There is no longer any separation between the two
of you. That is what we call romantic love. An ordinary person who has not worked on love does not have a positive emotional brain circuit could stay in hate lifelong. We know that. People stay in it for lifelong, but people who have a love circuit in their brain do not stay in hate for more than a few minutes. In a few second, they are already over it, and they are immediately feeling love again in their hearts. Sylvia Henderson: And that alone will help you step out of suffering for sure. I do want to remind everyone that Dr. Amit Goswami’s brand new book is coming out on April 1st. It is “The Everything Answer Book - How Quantum Physics Explains Love, Death and the Meaning of Life.” And if you would like to know more about Dr. Amit Goswami, you can go to his website: www.amitgoswami.org. Dr. Goswami, thank you so much for this opportunity. It has been amazing, and a moment I will always remember.

Innovative new approaches to Healing as well as holistic methods for dealing with health issues and personal growth
Are You a Wellness Adventurer? by Lisa Shaw
Try These Holistic Healing Methods For some wellness adventurers, we don’t feel right, but we just can’t identify the precise cause or condition. We know, however, the root is not entirely physical. Physical ailments would
Omtimes.com
send us to a medical doctor. But our malaise is not just psychological or emotional, either. To address those issues, we’d need a psychotherapist. What we feel might be described as a knot in our center, slowing us down, making us feel heavy. We have enough not to mask our symptoms with chemicals or even natural supplements. We realize that what we really need is a healing; not a cure, not a bandage. Ideally, we seek a treatment (or treatments) in which body, mind, and spirit converge. Whether we are novices, experienced seekers, or simply curious explorers, we are ready to investigate nontraditional routes to wellness. Here is a helpful guide. The effectiveness of holistic healing hinges on the premise that modalities will work best when aligned with our particular personal needs. Wellness Adventurers May Opt for Chiropractic Chiropractic, is “a therapeutic system based primarily
upon the interactions of the spine and nervous system” (dictionary.com) The premise is that the body knows how to heal itself so without invasive seizures and harmful chemicals, the fluid along the spine works to heal and aligned the body. When a chiropractor adjusts somebody, whether it is a quick edit, harsh crack, or a gentle pressure such as a network chiropractic, it prompts the spinal fluid to flow properly and integrate those areas of the body that are not working optimally. Insurance companies usually cover a limited number of visits per year. Network chiropractic, developed by Dr. Donald Epstein, addresses matters of higher consciousness using a much gentler approach than traditional chiropractors, usually the simple finger pressure along significant spinal points which pressure prompts the body’s automatic responses. The Network motto is, “Healing your world, one spine at a time.” Network chiropractors report client reactions as integrated

spiritual awakenings, involuntary waves of movement, and spontaneous vocalizations to release negative energy. You can find chiropractors certified in this specific method through a web search here: http://www.chiropractorspinalanalysisnetwork.com/ what-is-network-spinal-analysis-chiropractic.html Energetic Healing with Cranio-Sacral Therapy Cranio-sacral therapy, relates to a modality practiced by trained massage therapists certified in the field. Considered a “cross between chiropractic or osteopathic maneuvers and hands-on healing,” it is both relaxing and transforming. It involves balancing “the pulse of energy that flows between our head and pelvic area.” This equates to a balance between the crown and root chakras and all points in between. Even though it involves traditional massage education, training centers consider it an ‘intuitive technique.’ This form of
Omtimes.com
therapy elicits profound changes in both physical health and mental clarity. For more on Cranio-sacral therapy, visit this link: http:// www.cranialtherapycentre. com/a-beginners-guide-tocraniosacral-therapy/ Acupunture & Acupressure Work with Energy Flow Acupuncture and acupressure work with the body’s energy flow along the Chinese meridians or pathways that lead to health; the channel through which “chi,” or energy, is transported through the body. When it flows unobstructed, we experience health and wellness; when it is blocked, we feel symptoms of physical distress. Working on these points balances the flow of chi in the body. Acupressure is just the application of manual pressure along those same meridians. Specific acupuncture/acupressure points in the body correspond to multiple physical ailments and have been successful at helping people overcome addictions such as smoking or overeating.
Reiki Results in Relief Reiki, a Tibetan method of hands-on healing discovered in the early 20th century by Dr. Mikao Usui, uses “Universal Life Energy” to heal body, mind, and spirit. The” “KI” in Reiki is another name for the “chi” that moves through the meridians and chakra points in Chinese medicine. Some practitioners place hands on the body while others work in the aura or energy field. Within moments, the client’s breathing slows and deepens, inviting meditation or sleep, as it clears energy blockages to promote wellness. A full Reiki session on a massage table lasts an hour. Many spiritual centers offer evening Reiki circles as an introduction to the method. Reiki can also be sent via distance. Ayurveda Brings Together Body, Mind, & Spirit Ayurveda is an ancient Indian form of holistic medicine that also operates on the body-mind-spirit continuum, understanding that none of these operate independently of the other. It classifies people into three types
or “doshas,” each exhibiting distinct characteristics; in each person one dosha is dominant. A method specific to that dosha: diet, herbs, detoxing, and oils, treat imbalances in the body. Ayurvedic spas and retreats have gained popularity. Physicians undergo five years of training before practicing this method of “complementary medicine.” The best-known practitioner in the field is Dr. Deepak Chopra. All holistic healing methods, whether invasive or subtle, aim to restore our balance. This is by no means an exhaustive list. Other modalities to explore include re-birthing, fire walking, sweat lodges, and shamanic healing. About the Author Rev. We Want to Know – Do Good Dreams Go Bad? by Janice Chrysler
When things go our way, it can be easy to believe and see where our thoughts create our reality. Our willingness to see opportunities through people and events in our lives reinforces our understanding that the universe provides these daily synchronicities. But what about those times when we set
Omtimes.com
out to manifest, but somehow it never seems to happen?
When the Good Dreams Become a Nightmare How often have we felt like that lonely hamster running around and around in the wheel going nowhere? That is when we start doubting our ability to be the creator of our reality. During these moments, ego may step up to the plate and proudly announce we are not worthy. Ego could say we are not smart enough, not capable or strong enough. It might throw in a good dose of fear-based thoughts and anxieties around our dreams. Other times, these dreams that have been around for so long may even spark an inner competition. It compels us to feel we must achieve it, no matter the costs of time, money, or energy. Even if we lose the passion, it becomes a matter of winning! Something that was excitingly enticing and seemingly accessible now appears morphed into something beyond belief. It might look unrealistic and downright scary!
Instead of being our inspiration, these good dreams may now be more like something we dread. We feel as if it seems to hide in the shadows waiting for us to mess up. Our good dreams become our nightmares!
Shifting Our Thoughts The most important lesson we can learn in manifesting is to be willing to bend, to shift our plan of action. Releasing ego puts our trust back in the universe and the divine to provide. Making our path too straight and detailed we often will lose sight of all the shortcuts, interesting detours, and those things more wonderful than we could have planned. We start out with an idea how to reach our goal and an intention is set based on our passion. The universe may know of a better path for us to take; a more fulfilling way for us to experience and obtain what it is we desire. This is where things get interesting. We will have choices, as always, to make and sometimes those choices may involve letting go of what we thought for so long was our dream. Omtimes.com
Letting Go of the Dream Circumstances or our needs could have changed. What was needed in the past is not what we need in our lives now, or at least not in the same way. Our own insights and spiritual growth have evolved to a higher level and with that our needs also change. Things that seemed important to us either do not mean as much or we have uncovered a deeper passion and meaning to our quest. When this happens, we become more open to look for answers in different ways, expressions and experiences. Our original dream may not “feel” right anymore. To pursue it would go against our willingness to achieve the higher good for all. In forcing ourselves to place energy in a project that no longer will serve us or others, we could very well miss a wonderful opportunity. What if this was the time we were to learn from our journey so far and be willing to cut the cords? Could we be destined to do something different now? What if we are holding ourselves back from achieving our true potential?
Omtimes.com
We Can Re-Create the Dream We can re-create the dream to something that better serves our needs today. Or, we can allow it to turn into a nightmare and control us. If the latter happens, ego wins, fear takes over, and we lose sight of all the amazing things the universe holds for us. It is right to let a dream go… not because you failed, are unworthy, or too old or too scared to try, but because you know it is not for the higher good at this moment in time. Be open to search, to travel different paths, and above all trust we are loved and taken care of…because we are. About the Author Rev. Do You Need Help Learning How to Receive? by John Holland
It Can Be Difficult to Receive Many people have no problem being givers, but when it’s time to receive, I think that some people struggle. Are you the type of person that
Omtimes.com
always gives to others and forgets about yourself? Some people even have a hard time accepting a compliment. If the “law of abundance” is going to work successfully in our lives, there must be a flow both ways - both in the giving and the receiving. During a workshop, I taught a few years ago, a lovely woman volunteered for a reading and I could see from her aura and energy that she was a total giver. She always went out of her way to help others, donated her time to charities, and even cooked meals for sick neighbors. I asked her, “I see that you are such a kind woman, and always giving to others, but why is it so hard for you to receive?” She started to cry and looked at me and said, “I don’t feel like I’m worthy.” At that point, I told her that she was worthy and gave her the biggest hug, as did other students in the class!
It Is Not Easy to Accept Even Small Rewards I too am a giver, and I told the class that it took me quite a
while to learn to receive, and that it wasn’t easy to do at first. I explained that I started with something simple and encouraged her to do the same. If someone paid me a compliment, I didn’t dismiss it but simply said, “Thank You!” We’re all meant to help each other with our time here, and we’re all connected! So why is it so hard for people to receive? I feel it might be the way we were raised or by what society dictates, including the comments that might have been ingrained in us: “You should stand on your own,” “Don’t be dependent on anyone,” “Don’t be a burden to others,” or “You don’t deserve that!” By refusing to receive, you’re sort of dismissing the grace of abundance in all forms from entering your life. I want this newsletter to remind you to honor yourself with the work you have done, physically, mentally, emotionally, or spiritually.
JOHN’S LESSON Here are a few tips to learn
Omtimes.com
how to receive and honor yourself: Start off small. At the end of the day, make it a point to be thankful for something you received, whether it was a compliment, a hello from a stranger, or even a smile! Be a little more discerning in your giving. Let others give to you! If you’re always the one who jumps up and pays the bill, then allow the other person to pay so that they can feel the same joy you receive when you’ve been the one paying. If you’ve done a great job at something, and you’re proud, then do something special for yourself! It’s not being selfish - you’re honoring yourself and your soul. Learn from children. They are excellent teachers when it comes to receiving! It’s natural for them to ask for help, just as easy as it is for them to help another. Appreciate all the abundance and goodness that’s around
Omtimes.com
you. Be thankful for your health, children, sunny days, your garden, family, best friends, or even the person who lets you jump ahead in line at the bank! The more joy you notice and appreciate, the easier it becomes for you to experience more happiness, joy, abundance, prosperity, and most importantly - love. By learning to be grateful, you’re acknowledging and honoring the Divine Source, and by doing so, you’re keeping the energy of the “giving and receiving circle” open and flowing. Meditation Methods 3 Ways to Still the Mind by Arthur Telling
Meditation Methods to Clear the Mind There are a few effective meditation methods to try. Sitting meditation is the most widely practiced Buddhist way for clearing the mind and attaining enlightenment. The student sits in a lotus-like
Omtimes.com
position or on a chair, hands palms up or clasped together. This encourage the flow and retention of energy in the body. The practitioner focuses on the method of watching and following his breathing. As thoughts arise, he allows them to pass without attaching to them, continuing focus on breathing in and out. It is a beginner’s method of meditation practice, taught commonly in conjunction with walking meditation. In walking meditation, the student similarly meditates when walking, but focuses on the movement of his legs and where his foot lands. As the student progresses, other tasks are also introduced as he learns the quieting of mind through daily life routines. These activities include walking, eating, working, washing dishes, cleaning the car, painting the walls, shopping, or anything. This is action meditation, or meditation-inactivity, and can be practiced anywhere and anytime.
Advanced Meditation Methods Available We find more advanced meditation methods in Buddhist disciplines. Mahayana Buddhism advocates the Chan (Zen) technique called “hua tou.” This relates to the “origin of words,” where “hua” means word and “tou” means origin or head. It is used to examine the state of mind before words form or originate. The student recites a phrase in the form of a profound question, intended for piquing the mind. This is referred to as growing the doubt sensation. Popular questions are: “Who is mindful of the Buddha?”, “Who is dragging this body around?”, “What is wu (emptiness)?” and “Who am I?” There are no answers for these questions. The critical phrase repeated mentally, continuously, eventually grows a doubt sensation as to the incomprehensible answer to the critical question. Practitioners of this
Omtimes.com
meditation method could also focus on what comes before the critical phrase, becoming more aware of what exists before the formation of the words of the critical phrase. Penetrating this doubt sensation leads to an experience of a state of mind prior to the formation of words. The practitioner realizes the true nature of reality as it has always been. This is enlightenment, seeing your true nature, even if momentarily, or for a longer time. The Silent Illumination Meditation Method Another, second, advanced meditation method for practitioners is Silent Illumination. The student focuses on the entirety of his present moment experience, not any singular quality of breathing or walking or critical phrase. When sitting, he considers the whole-body experience, with awareness on inner nature.
Omtimes.com
When walking and in other activities, he allows his mind to equally consider all that is in his present experience: sight, sound, smell, taste, and physical sensations, focusing on no one thing. A way of perceiving used occasionally called direct contemplation, where there is no identification of objects and things. There is no discernment, and no judging. A flower not a “flower;” it is what it is as perceived: not red or yellow, not a carnation or a rose, not of a particular shape, or that it is on a stem. The goal is to experience the creation as the eye – not the thinking mind – perceives it. Buddhist meditation instructors generally tell students to choose hua tou or silent illumination per their preference, and to stay with one method and persevere to enlightenment. Oftentimes, when the mind fills with thoughts, practitioners settle down the body, breath, and
mind before starting on hua tou or silent illumination. The Breath Meditation Method By the breath meditation method, practitioners can watch their breath. They count one on the first outgoing breath and continue counting to ten for each succeeding outgoing breath. After ten, the practitioner goes back to one again. This continues to ten until the practitioner feels his mind is calm and quiet, and ready to begin hua tou or silent illumination. With mastery of our mental processes using these methods, or those from other disciplines, we position ourselves to be in the present moment and to gain enlightenment. Further regular practice of such mental practices can calm and quiet our mind, give inner peace and reduce stress and thus enable us to be more productive and successful in life, work and relationships. With what we have -- just “body,
breath and mind” – we can begin our meditation practice. Local Chan (Zen) centers offer free or low-cost classes and weekend retreats, for beginners and serious practitioners. The two-thousand-plus-year ancient history of Buddhist meditation methods also offer Westerners new to the practice the good guidance of trustworthy meditation instructors. Their purpose is to open society to this exciting journey leading to mental development, peace of mind, and enlightenment. New Answers That Bring New Life by Guy Finley
Check These Two Misguided Scenarios Picture a man who just heard that one of his closest friends has betrayed him. How does he respond? What’s his first answer to this ordeal? Anger that includes plans for revenge. Imagine a woman who suddenly realizes she’s going to be late for an important appointment. There’s no way to make it on
Omtimes.com
time. How does she meet the pressure of this moment? What’s her first answer to running out of time? Anxiety that includes inventing excuses she hopes will be believed. These are different people under different circumstances, but they’ve made the same miscalculation. They both have the wrong answer. To understand their error, let’s take a closer look at how each arrived at his or her mistaken solution.
Time to Look for New Answers The man who found out he’d been betrayed thinks his anger is a source of strength. And he also believes his heated plans for making the score even will make him feel better. But anger is never real strength, and revenge is always self-wrecking long before it ever touches its intended victim. What this man doesn’t see is that the reason his heart aches isn’t because of what someone has done to him, but because of what he’s doing to himself by embracing punishing, raging thoughts. He can’t see the real reason he aches is because it’s his own answer that’s hurting him.
The woman who’s late for her date is certain her anxious feelings and worried thoughts can help her find a way out of her predicament. What she doesn’t understand is that her feeling of being squeezed into a tight spot is because she’s temporarily tucked away in a darkened corner of her own mind. What she can’t see is the pressure she feels isn’t because she’s late, but because she keeps jumping headlong into a torrent of cascading emotions. She doesn’t understand that the crushing rushing she feels is a part of her own answer.
New Answers to Some Old Problems Your answer to the challenge of any moment -- and what you experience as the quality of your life in that moment -- are one and the same thing. In other words, the way you answer life’s events, and what you experience as your life, are really one. Let’s examine how this works. If your answer to some sad memory that floats through your mind is to just drift along with it, why should you be surprised when you suddenly find yourself being carried over Omtimes.com
the falls of deep grief? The reason you have the feeling of falling is because you and your answer are never apart. You can’t separate yourself from what you receive from life any more than the ocean is apart from its own waves. Within the space of each beat of your heart, you get the exact measure of the answer you gave to life the moment before. No more, no less: Life is always true in this way. Without fail, and without judgment, life speaks directly to you through your own immediate experience of it.
Listening to Wise Counsel of Reality Learn to listen for its wise counsel whenever you meet a moment. What it always says is: “Here is you back.” Reality is a perfect mirror. It always reflects exactly what’s in it. But we forever distort everything we see in order to justify concealed, unconscious intentions. Therefore, we must always be willing to meet life from something higher than our present consciousness. Truth alone is the perfect teacher because its fearless nature never Omtimes.com
denies what it sees. Your life can be light-filled and lighthearted if you’re willing to see that when there’s something sour in your life, it’s your answer that’s bitter. Don’t be afraid to see that most of the answers you presently meet life with are the wrong ones. Self-doubt, anger, denial, anxiety, aggression, worry, resentment, ambitiousness, envy, greed, self-righteousness, sarcasm, one-upmanship, demands, cynicism, avoidance, recrimination, dependency, expectations, coercion: all are wrong answers that can only supply secret aches.
New Answers Lead to Right Choices You may be wondering, “Well then, what’s the right answer for me? How can I be sure of making the true choice? Or even if there is such a thing?” That’s easy! Here’s why. Do you remember in your school days, during exams, there were some questions that came with multiple choice answers? There were always those times when you could come up with the right answers -- not because
you knew them -- but simply because you knew that none of the other answers offered could be correct? In other words, you arrived at what was right by knowing what was wrong! You may not have known it then, but by deliberately eliminating what was false, you were employing an ancient and wise technique to come upon what’s true. And contained right within this powerful principle is a truly amazing secret. Each time you refuse to choose wrong answers to live from, you’ve just stepped that much closer to coming upon what are new and true answers for you. Then, you’ll have their reward: a quiet mind, a contented heart, and complete confidence.
There is a Higher, Happier Answer Regardless of how unpleasant any circumstance seems now, always remember: it’s impossible to answer any situation with negativity without casting yourself into that same selfcreated darkness. There is always a higher,
happier answer if you’ll only learn how to ask for it. Again, this kind of conscious selfsuspension -- of putting your habitual mind and its answers on hold -- can seem scary at times. But one day it will be your greatest pleasure to realize that you don’t need any answers that want you to be afraid. The more you understand about the Truth and the nature of the way it fearlessly answers life, the stronger you become yourself. Is Your Business Bursting to Get Out of the Box? by Simone Milasas
Innovative Businesses Blaze New Trails It’s no secret that increasingly clients and customers are seeking something different. Something that’s truly fresh, innovative and out of the box. An innovative business doesn’t always function from industry standard, or only rely on what’s perceived as tried and true methods. A truly innovative and conscious business owner Omtimes.com
is always seeking that which will create greater possibilities; they’re never satisfied with the status quo. However, the willingness to take a different perspective, and to ask dynamic questions of yourself and your business, can be uncomfortable. It is easy to do what others expect of you because then you wouldn’t need to change anything. You’re safe in the box. But here’s
the question I like to ask: is being safe what you truly desire or is it time to get out of the box that you’ve created? How do you know if you’re in the box? A lot of people don’t realize they’re in a box!
Experiments Show Learned Behavior There was an experiment some time ago where researchers placed jumping fleas inside a glass box to observe their behavior. Although they could leap higher, the fleas learned to jump only as high as the glass lid. Even after the lid was taken off, the fleas didn’t jump out.
Receiving is key. Many people consider that giving is good and receiving is wrong. I did too. Years ago, the founder of Access Consciousness® Gary Douglas told me, “If you’re willing to receive everything, you can have everything.” How much judgement are you willing to receive from others? How much criticism are you willing to receive for standing out? I’ve discovered that the more open you’re to receiving, the more money you make and you get to have more fun.
What Are Some of the Ways to Get Out of the Box?
Have you decided there’s a lid on what you can choose for your business? Every single judgement that you have about your business, your clients and customers, your products and services creates a box instantaneously.
One of the ways you can get out of the box is gratitude. Have gratitude for what you’ve created currently, because when you have gratitude you start to receive more. What if you were grateful for everything you have created, big and small? This is not about judging you. It’s about increasing your awareness.
So, what choices could you make today, which might make you a little uncomfortable, but will increase what you’re willing to receive?
I always say, if you’re aware of something then you can change it. If you’re not willing to have the awareness of it, you cannot change it. With money, Omtimes.com
for example, many people are not willing to be totally aware of their finances so they can’t change them. They just create a box around money. One that confines them. If you’re willing to be aware of, and grateful for, the amount of money that you haven’t created and the amount of money you have created, you can step out of the box.
What Else is Possible in Conscious Business? Often, people think that money gets you out of the box. It doesn’t. Realizing that you could create anything as your business, and having no judgment, is what gets you out of the box. A phenomenal question to ask in business is, what else is possible? Ask, what else is possible? when things are not so great and also when things are great. With that question you’re asking for everything that’s beyond your imagination to show up. Your imagination only knows what has been done before. So, ask: what else is possible beyond what you
Omtimes.com
have yet instituted? What else is possible beyond what you’ve ever imagined? Questions will always take you out of the box and bring new possibilities. Conclusions will keep the lid on the box. We have boxes for finance, tax, regulations, law etc. and if you educate yourself about them, you’ll know how to use the rules to your advantage. I used to think reading the constitution of a business was one of the most boring things in the world! Until a friend changed my perspective and got me to love reading constitutions for what I could create and change with them.
Information Creates Awareness But if the thought of educating yourself about tax and law freaks you out, do some simple searches on the internet. It’s easier to access knowledge and information than ever before so seek it out. You don’t have to become an expert. Also, know that anything you resist is potentially an area that will make you more money and help you get out of the box.
But, you’ve got to be prepared to be uncomfortable. For me, even though I work with different currencies all the time as the worldwide coordinator for Access Consciousness (a big personal development company in 173 countries), currency trading is not fun for me. I’m willing to acknowledge the box I’ve created around this. But I also perceive an energy that could be another revenue stream, so I recently dived into currency trading. What’s the worst thing that could happen? I could lose money but I could also learn something new.
How to Know if You Decline a Possibility? How many possibilities are you refusing that if you didn’t refuse them would take you out of the box? If you perceived an energy of a possibility and moved towards it, what’s the worst thing that you’ve decided could happen? And is it really that bad? It’s time to step into possibilities and out of the box. This is not something
you can configure and it’s not linear. Jumping out of the box is having the adventure of living. So, demand of yourself and request of the universe that you step out of the box. Then start asking, what action could you take today? If you had no boxes limiting your business, what would you create? Let’s start and see what happens. How to Heal a Struggling Relationship
by Maria Khalife
A Struggling Relationship Can Be Healed Life is not about who we are with, what we wear, where we live, or how much money we earn. It is also about unfolding an understanding about yourself and about life Omtimes.com
itself. One of the speediest ways to unfold understanding is through your relationship. In no other way is who you are and what you think exposed as in a relationship. If you are in a relationship and hurting there, here are some ideas to consider that might keep you in the relationship. Some people learn the hard way that if you don’t clean up what is in one relationship, you will simply drag it to the next relationship, because you are the common denominator.
Are You in a Struggling Relationship? Think through your own relationship and those of some of your friends and see if these issues were there right before the relationship failed: You Put Down the Character of the Other. You and your significant other will not always agree. Everyone is entitled to an
opinion, but when minor disagreements escalate into attacking your significant other’s character, this is an enormous red flag. Remember those days when you loved him or her because of their good traits? They’re still there. Hateful Actions. If you have forgotten the good about your “other,” you may slide into thinking of them with no love present. You’ll roll your eyes, make hand gestures, say insulting things to them, tease them with cruelty, etc. and all this will be motivated by hate. They might react to what you’re putting out there, but that hatred is inside of you; not a healthy idea. The Blame Game. If all that is wrong in your relationship is the other fellow’s fault, you are feel incapable of resolution. It’s wiser to ask yourself what role you are playing here. What input and responsibility
Omtimes.com
can you own. Whatever you own, you can change. You can’t fix what belongs to another. Blaming your spouse will put the brakes on genuine communication toward a resolution. Going Silent. A friend’s husband would lie face down on their sofa and refuse to discuss any problems by going completely silent. He wouldn’t respond to any of her questions. It’s as if she wasn’t even there, and that is the key point: silence removes another from the situation entirely. This resolves nothing except to initiate a breakup.
Honoring Individuality One of the most beautiful things about this life is the limitlessness of individuality. Think about how many ways there are to prepare the very same piece of steak, for example. Think about how many ways there are to plant a garden. Everyone has his or
Omtimes.com
her ideas about how things should be in life, and for sure, in a relationship. One of the ideas for harmonious relationships requiring acceptance of another’s individuality is this one: “Let’s agree to disagree.” This says: It’s okay for me to have my take on things. It’s okay for you to have your take on things. At this time, neither of us wants to budge, so let’s just agree to disagree on this point. Acceptance is the most practical form that love can assume. If you accept the other in your life - in sickness and in health, for better and for worse, for richer and poorer, etc. - your acceptance basically says, “I may not agree with how you are, how you look at things, and your take on this particular issue, but I have made a commitment to be with you and that is precisely what I’m going to do. I might need a
breather to remember this.” When you were young and in love, what you didn’t think about beyond how beautiful the other was, their physical attributes, and the fact they were attracted to you is this: both of you brought to the table unresolved problems that could take dozens of years into the future to be resolved.
How Do I Love Thee; Let Me Count the Ways Elizabeth Barrett Browning wrote a sonnet in the late 1800’s, but its words are true still today. • How do I keep track of what is true and good about you? • Do I keep sacred the work of our relationship and not share it outside the relationship? • Do I speak about my own thoughts and feelings without starting sentences with “you” and placing
blame outside of myself? Love inside of a struggling relationship takes decisive intention, dedication for the long haul, and plenty of hard work. This is also why it is said that the quickest way to unfold understanding is inside of a struggling relationship. When your love grows to embrace all the foibles of your mate and all the bumps in the road you’ve encountered, you can celebrate your success. Metaphysics
Encounters of Ascension and Awakening by Jill M. Jackson
Discover More about the Ascension Process Many of us have heard or read about the ascension process. We experience physical challenges as we awaken to higher vibrational frequencies.
Omtimes.com
The best way to think about and process this is to remember how our bodies must adjust when we change elevations and altitudes. Our earthly bodies can only tolerate certain conditions, and when we attempt to go against those conditions, our bodies must adapt. With the new energies being infused in the physical body, a similar modification is essential, and this may feel uncomfortable on occasion. At times, we may feel as if we are literally losing our sense of reality. Countless men and women have visited doctor after doctor attempting to get answers on their strange ailments to no avail.
What Are the First Symptoms? Some of the first symptoms experienced seem to be vertigo, ringing of the ears, headaches, and nausea. For quite a few people, this leads to extreme fatigue and body aches and pains, especially in the neck and shoulder areas.
Weight gain particularly in the abdomen area is common. Intense itching episodes are being reported. There is a possibility depression may accompany these physical changes in the body, as grief can accompany transformation, even when this transformation is positive. At times, words previously known may disappear from our vocabulary! We may find ourselves relaying information as if we are playing out a game of charades! An intolerance for crowds or loud places may be felt. Vivid dreams may become more regular. Everything is comprised of energy. Energy is a vibrational frequency. Our physical bodies are experiencing a 3-D reality at an amazing time in history where our Mother Earth is going through her own ascension process. While it can be quite intense, it is also exhilarating to witness and share in such a grand conversion.
Omtimes.com
What Changes Can We Expect Now? For those who have been on an accelerated awakening path for some time, there are new physical experiences showing up. One that appears is a strange gurgling sound deep inside the ear canal. Those who have experienced this affirm it doesn’t feel like anything they have experienced before. It’s not a ringing nor is it painful, it’s more of a murmuring sensation. Another change is in food cravings and diet. For most people, as they awaken, their food choices change. For some, this is a slow process, in which they may consume less animal products. Others experience an overnight change, in that the very thought of eating an animal revolts them. In the past, meat eating was their normal diet. For others, there is a desire for higher vibrational foods and less dense food choices. It is important we listen to
Omtimes.com
our bodies as our bodies will always tell us what is essential for optimum functioning. Physical Connections in the Ascension Process Many sensitives and empaths are reporting an imbalance in the pancreas, causing insulin resistance. Further adjustments to the diet may be necessary. Jaw pain and strange tooth sensations are common new symptoms appearing. People who have been experiencing the ascension process for many years are reporting things many people may deem crazy! Objects next to them are vibrating or moving. Hearing music, sounds, or conversations when nobody else is around. Psychic and mediumistic abilities are increasing in those who regularly use these abilities. Why Do I Feel So Alone at Times? A feeling of not belonging anywhere might arise from time to time. Places which felt
like home before may seem foreign. Friends and family members may suddenly be removed from our life. Even long standing friendships or relationships can end abruptly. The bottom line is when two people are not vibrating on the same energy level, it is not possible to understand or relate to each other any longer. What most people have noticed is when a friendship or relationship ends, more space is created that bring in those who have similar energetic vibrations. Where Do I Turn for Help? Of course, it is important to rule out any medical conditions before confirming the path of ascension could be attributed to the physical challenges being experienced. Finding a respected Spiritual Teacher to help with learning to connect to the guidance of the Higher Self or Intuition has been valuable to many. After all, awareness creates further knowledge and
knowledge is power. When we connect and bond with those of like mind or our Soul Tribe, less loneliness and feelings of isolation occur. For many people, bonds with the Soul Tribe are stronger than any familial bonds ever felt. In closing, remember we are not alone in these strange experiences. Education, empowerment, and enlightenment thru books, magazines, and courses will be quite beneficial during this ongoing ascension process. About the Author Jill M. Why Focusing on Your Desires May Be Keeping You from What You Want by Heather O’Neill
Creating What We Want in Our Lives We are taught to get clear on our desires. When we work with the laws of the universe to create what we want in our lives, we know how we
Omtimes.com
want to feel when we get them. This helps us become an energetically vibrational match to them. Because when we are an energetic match, we are in a state of allowing them to come into our experience. Yet sometimes, as when consciously using the Law of Attraction to manifest what we want, we can find that it just doesn’t seem to be working. We are ultra-clear on what we want and just as clear on how we want to feel about it. Or so we think. Attachment Can Get in the Way of Our Desires What we sometimes forget to watch for is our sneaky, wanna-be friend called attachment. Attachment sidles up to us thinking it’s doing us a favor by keeping us connected to our desires. When in fact that “connection” is a very fine line between knowing what we desire and then wanting
it so badly that it changes the vibration of the desire. A lot of times desire pushes us into lack vibration without us even realizing it. While desire is a great manifestation tool, it must, however, come with very little attachment. Attachment carries with it a vibration that can throw the energy of what we want off track. Built into attachment is need, and when we attach a need to our desires that can move us into lack vibration. Because the energy surrounding need is really energy of “I want something really badly that I do not have yet.” Aka lack. Since like attracts like, if we are in lack vibration we will ultimately attract more lack. An Example of Desires Clashing with Attachment Suppose there is a person we may want to attract into our life. This could be a soul mate,
Omtimes.com
a business partner or simply some new tribe mates to have some fun with. We can begin to become acutely aware of their ‘non-presence’ in our lives the more we desire to have them. And when we’re looking for the experience with those people to fulfill something within us, it turns into a need. And when we are aware of not only the need but also of the fact that it is not being met, our energy wraps itself around the absence of what we want. So very simply put, our energy is vibrating in that space of absence.
That is why it is so important to gauge where our energy lies in regards to what we want. And then further to move our energy into our heart center via trust and belief that what we desire will ultimately come to us, although it may not be on our exact timeline. And when we can move that trust and knowing into our heart center, it leaves little room for neediness and attachment. Unattachment May Best Help Usher Our Desires
The Universe Responds to Our Energy
Some coaches do not like the word detachment as it can imply lack of feeling altogether. But rather ‘unattachment’ serves as a better way to conceptualize it.
And for all the love the universe has for us, it is merely responding to our energy. Not the thoughts in our heads regarding how happy we would be once we have this or that, but what is emanating through our energy when all is said and done.
So, we can say to ourselves, “I would really love to find a new strategic partner for my business.” Then we get clear on the essence of what that person would be like, and further ‘unattach’ from when and how that person will show
Omtimes.com
up in our experience. When it comes to manifesting our desires, it is up to us to get clear on what it is we want. Then, we are clear on why we want it (the feeling state). Finally, we let that all go (release attachment to it). This allow us to be truly open and in a state of allowing for the universe to take care of the when and the how. Getting Clear on Our Desires When we take it upon ourselves to attach to the when and the how our manifestations should arrive and appear, we are setting ourselves up for need and ultimately lack. There is nothing at all wrong with getting clear on our desires. We can even make them specific, if we feel the need to. But we must then release those specifics to the universal forces at work. This enables us to stay open to all the beautiful possibility and
the many avenues of delivery there are. Our work is to use desire to our advantage. Then, remain unattached to those desires to truly receive what we want. Dearest, Dearest, A twin flame is a soul that has divided its energy to incarnate into separate bodies, to have separate experiences. It has been said that Jesus and Mother Mary are Twin Flames. In this case they led similar lives, highly evolved spiritual beings, on a mission of enlightenment for the world, with Mary offering a supporting role to Jesus. I believe that they communicated telepathically and could empathically feel each other even when separated at great distances. In other Twin Flame scenarios, a soul will divide to work on its karmic debts. These bodies are not meant to meet, the goal is to hurry up and complete their journey but twice as fast. Although if they do cross paths they will be magnetically drawn to each other because of their divine energy: like attracts like. In any case it’s a fallacy to believe that Twin Souls are oppositional, when they are mirrored reflections

of one another. If you divide anything in half, it’s all the same element. Twin souls offer supporting roles, they are the same energy although when looking in the mirror sometimes we see the worst aspects – so if one being is reflecting light and the other is mirroring the darkness of the soul, you might think that they are opposites. But in reality, these beings are glimpsing the yin and the yang aspects that resides within the human soul. Dear Michelle, I’ve prayed, prayed and prayed my guts out so why wont God answer, I’m not asking for that much. What’s up with this? Dearest, Believe it or not, there is an art to prayer. First give thanks; always be humble and grateful for all of the blessing that you have been bestowed. Then pray with sincerity, for God knows our heart. When petitioning God or the Angels to intercede - - never tell them how to do their job. Far too many times people pray and try to micromanage God like this: “Oh God Thank you for helping me to pay my big unexpected bill this month. Aunt Sally has the funds;

please open her heart and her purse strings to give me what is needed. Amen“ You can claim the outcome – but let God work the magic. Don’t tell your heavenly support team how to manifest a miracle for you. Aunt Sally may not bend. But your Angels would have had a solution greater than you could imagine! Here’s something else to know. God hears all of our prayers. But sometimes our biggest blessing is an unanswered prayer. Too often we cling to the past, when there is an adventure just around the corner. God knows what is in our highest good. Sometimes the answer is a simple No! There is another plan in the works. God has the first and last say. Remember God helps those that help themselves. So pray and get to work. Are you praying for a car? If

The Witchcraft of Grammar
by Gus Stiver
Grammar and Language Have Mystical Origins Although you may be a skeptic concerning the occult, the history of grammar offers a
Omtimes.com
clue to the very real power of magical symbols and words. The word ‘grammar’ has its roots in the Latin words ‘grammatica’ and ‘gramma,’ which mean a written mark or letter. When the word arrived in English in the 14th century, a new word emerged alongside it: ‘grammary,’ meaning occult learning and necromancy. This led to the word ‘glamour,’ which originally meant ‘enchantment’ or ‘spell’. Devils and wizards were said to ‘cast the glamour.’ In medieval Europe, they used the word ‘grammar’ to talk about the study of the occult. This history acknowledges the very real power that words and marks have to alter the world. What is the nature of this magical power?
The Power of Words and Grammar In medieval Europe, the power
of words and symbols was much more evident than it is today. This was not just the power to express authority and demand allegiance. People who could read and write were an elite group who had a unique ability to make sense of the world and to make reality appear, literally, in new and unique ways. Because our world is now saturated with symbols, words, and language, it is difficult to imagine the power that words had to make things appear. But, in an under-educated world without a formalized language, the introduction of new words, and the new concepts they conveyed, had the power to change how one perceived the world. Like a gestalt-image suddenly becoming visible, a new word or concept crystallizes the world in a new way and creates a new reality. Although a new word can
Omtimes.com
crystallize a new reality quite suddenly, words can also have a slower, sometimes insidious ‘effect of truth’ in the sense that people will so consistently act on an idea conveyed by a word that it becomes true over time. For example, a rumor of possession by a demon might follow a child born in a superstitious community with a sign or mark upon its body. The child is shunned, disrespected, unloved, and thereby becomes demonized over time. Because of the expectations created by the mark, she comes to be possessed. The mark or ‘gramma’ creates its own reality. Today, we still see this labeling power at work. We may label a child with a word rather than a mark. They may be subtly ostracized, then gradually criminalized or psychified. The label creates its own reality.
Omtimes.com
Symbols and Words Create Conceptual Reality This is the magical power of symbols and words. Words simplify and reify a complex, ambiguous reality. The leftbrain latches on to words and word-patterns as conceptual short cuts and the right-brain then navigates the world via these labels and short cuts. Words create a reality through a habitual pattern of labeling and conceptualizing. We have been able to recognize and mitigate this power, simply by becoming aware of the potentially insidious power of words and labels. However, we have not yet noticed the insidious spell that grammar -- the structure of language -- has cast over our lives. Grammar has created a reality for us, but not by labeling. Rather, it schematizes reality in terms of the subjectverb-object structure through
which we communicate. We perceive and navigate reality through this selfisolating, subject-object grammar. The holism of existence has crystallized, gestalt-like, into disconnected subjects and objects acting upon one another. We experience reality now as discrete subjects and objects that only contingently and causally relate to one another.
The Grammar of Isolated Subjects This grammar of isolated subjects has cast a very specific ‘glamour’ over reality. Our sense of self was once very different than it is today. Language originally reinforced a holistic sense of community, binding us together. We understood our place in the world first and foremost in terms of our community, our home, our family, and our Gods. That was, literally, who we were.
Only secondarily, and only as part of a greater whole, did we think of ourselves as individuals. Now, thanks to the ‘glamour’ of grammar, we have become independent, isolated subjects navigating a world of disconnected things. The grammar of separation and analysis has created a world of isolation. We have lost sight of the Divine interconnectedness of reality. It is the spell of grammar that we must break if we are to see reality as it is -- as one. Are Your Bottled Emotions Causing You Pain? by Baba Shuddhaanandaa Brahmachari
Bottled Emotions Can Disturb Us Bottled emotions are the breeding grounds for all kinds of mental issues. This is true not only for adults and seniors, but children,
Omtimes.com
too. How do we learn to feel fully and then transcend our bottled emotions to insure a better quality of life? The first question we need to ask ourselves is, does the emotion come before the thoughts or do the thoughts pop up first? Actually, they happen quite close to each other. Usually fear comes spontaneously as a response to a perceived threat or some sudden outside stimuli. On the other hand, anxiety comes from our ruminating, repetitive thoughts. In either case, we need to zero in on our subconscious mind. Our ultimate goal is to make sure we cleanse the subconscious that drives our thoughts and causes bottled emotions. Childhood traumas or haunting memories create emotions that are not very easy to manage. These can take place either in the external or the internal environment.
a person finds herself or himself in an atmosphere where it is so deeply negative and oppressing that no matter how much one tries to be positive, one cannot make much difference in her or his emotional state. The abusive and negative energies continuously stream from the external environment, and we succumb to this oppressive climate. Each of the situations that arises or happens to an individual has some relevance to the ultimate cleansing of the karma, as it is so very important for a soul to purge the past and move through to the next phase of evolution in the ladder of consciousness. We must go through physical and mental agonies to pay off the past debts of karma, that is only way to cleanse the mistakes of the past. This is a result of the natural law, “as you sow, so you reap.
Karma, the Compassionate Teacher
Meditation, Mindfulness, Gratitude, Release
There are situations where
Yes, we must clean up the

smudges on the mirror of our subconscious mind. Then only the reflection of the Self can shine forth. If modern science is to be believed, and the ancient cultures of the East are to be accepted with trust, then meditation, mindfulness, gratitude, and prayers and rituals all have their role to play. They help create the mind and heart that can take the pain when it comes, watch the pain as it arises, and allow it to dissolve as the time becomes ripe for it. One very effective method of healing and growth is to focus the mind whenever one grips the rise of an emotional trauma of any kind of fear or anxiety. We should watch the flame or the energy rise, and then when it is at its peak, we lovingly offer it to the divine, or universal consciousness, and relief is usually felt instantly. It just leaves; the whole burden leaves as if something has evaporated. Everyone must go through

his or her life dramas, the pre-scripted stuff of life. It is the one certainty. No one escapes. So if, with acceptance, we acknowledge our deepest, bottled emotions, watch them rise in intensity and then unburden ourselves to the benevolent, precision run universe, a great heaviness is lifted.

When Seekers become Finders by Alan Cohen
Can We Find What We Seek? The game of seek and find: Every morning after we walk our dogs, two of them chase each other around the living
Omtimes.com
room coffee table. It’s quite entertaining to watch these exuberant spirits tease each other, bark, and run around in circles. The little one eggs the larger one on and keeps slightly ahead of him in the chase. Then she stops short and he catches up to her. The two stand there for a moment with a look on their faces like, “Now what do we do?” Then the little dog runs in the opposite direction and the other guy takes off in hot pursuit. Watching them, it occurred to me that their fun is in the chase. Once the chase if over, the play is lost. Then, to keep the action alive, they must start the chase again. If this sounds familiar, it is. We humans are in many ways like those frisky canines. We thrive on striving, searching, seeking, and yearning. When we do get what we want, we are satisfied for a moment, but then we are on to the next chase. And the game goes on.
Finders - Chasing after Dreams Some of us have been chasing for so long and hard that we have developed identities as seekers. We look for things more than we find them. You may even be proud to proclaim yourself a spiritual seeker. But have you ever thought about proclaiming yourself a spiritual finder? How would your world change if you started finding more than seeking? In the clever and entertaining film, Princess Bride, we meet Inigo Montoya, who is on a lifelong mission to avenge the death of his father, who was killed by an assassin many years ago. Inigo is constantly swirling his sword, practicing his revenge statement: “My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.” Finally, Inigo catches up with the assassin and does him in. Afterward his friend asks him, “Inigo, now that you have avenged your father’s death, what will you be doing?” Inigo
Omtimes.com
stops in his tracks, a blank look overtakes his face, and he replies, “I have been in the revenge business for so long that I don’t know what I would do without it.”
Why Does Doubt Sneak In? That is precisely the predicament in which many of us find ourselves. We are in the seeking business for so long that we would not know what to do if we found. Our thoughts entertain lack so consistently that when abundance shows up we don’t know how to accept it. We have felt stuck so often that we are uneasy with freedom when it is offered. We have been searching for a partner so ardently that we don’t really believe one is out there, and if he or she showed up, we would doubt that person is real. Such a position calls us to reexamine, challenge, and grow beyond the old beliefs that have kept us small. Lack, pain, and loneliness are arrows
Omtimes.com
pointing us to discover untrue thoughts about ourselves and life that keep us from having what we want. Rather than simply continuing behaviors that don’t work, we must be willing to see ourselves differently and receive what we have kept at a distance. Put simply, we are being called to let life love us.
Finders Know When We Have “Enough” The quickest and easiest way to get your needs met right now is to shift your vision. Cultivate your ability to find love, beauty, health, success, peace, and abundance right where you stand. Don’t wait for conditions to change for you to have enough. Claim enough right here, and enough will expand unto surplus. Many years ago, I was having dinner with Dr. Wayne Dyer when the subject came around to money. Wayne nonchalantly said, “I have enough money. I don’t need any more.” Hearing that, I jealously thought, “Sure
you do. You make twenty thousand dollars for a lecture.” Then I realized a deeper teaching was being offered. Wayne had enough money because he decided that what he had was enough. You and I know people who have a lot more money than Wayne Dyer, and they never have enough.
Finders - It is More about Knowing They are always worrying about protecting their assets and getting more. We also know other people who have very little, and they are soaring in contentment and joy. So it turns out that finding is less about getting and more about knowing. A friend told me, “I used to think I was a perfectionist because I would find the tiniest flaws in everything I saw. Now I realize I am really an imperfectionist because I focus on imperfection. If I were a perfectionist I would find perfection everywhere I look,
not imperfection.” This month I invite you to become a true perfectionist by finding perfection. Look for the beauty rather than the ugliness; love rather than alienation; the whole instead of the broken. It may amaze you to find that what you seek has been here all along. Perhaps James Allen said it best: “Two men looked out through prison bars. One saw mud; the other, stars.” About the Author Alan Cohen is the author the inspirational book, Enough Already: The Power of Radical Contentment. Is Spirituality Liberal or Conservative? by Debbie Peluso
An Earful of Chatter, with Plenty of Prejudice Talk, talk, talk, talk, talk; that is all we hear these days! Opinions, perceptions, judgment, condemnation-it is enough to spiral us down to the deepest depths Omtimes.com
of negativity! And then, as negativity always does, we begin to question our own values and truth. Who is right and who is wrong? Is there something wrong with me? Then the big question:
How would spirituality guide us? There are many philosophies and spiritual belief systems throughout the world. Although we use different languages and methodologies, there are common threads with these various systems. One is love: All speak to love being all-encompassing, the source of all that is. Love should drive us, inspire us, motivate us into action. It ignites our soul and generates compassion. Second are universal laws. All systems share some natural belief system that speaks to integrity, morality, and physicality guiding us through this “thing we call life!” We learn of these laws through sutras, stories, or metaphysical concepts. For example, all speak to the Law of Cause and Effect or the
Law of Containment, though presented differently. Actions and choices we make produce a result. Energy left unconstrained produces chaos. So, taking these two concepts (there are far too many to discuss in one article) of love and universal laws, how do we justify our own belief system as to whether we are liberal or conservative? And, can we find spirituality in both points of view?
Where Do We Find Spirituality? One could say spirituality is found in neither, yet found in both! Two methodologies wanting similar results. All people want love; all people want freedom; all people want happiness, justice and balance in their lives. Liberalism also believes strongly in equality and freedom for all. Oftentimes, being referred to as “bleeding-hearts,” they are willing to take whatever action needed based on compassion, sometimes at their own expense, to make sure that
Omtimes.com
human rights are respected and given to all. It is expansive. Conservatism is traditional. Although the conservative approach seeks the same results as a liberal philosophy, that being love, happiness, freedom, justice, their approach is more contained, restrictive. The belief is you must work hard for those freedoms and take responsibility for your own happiness. So where does spirituality fit in and why is it found in both? The sutras and other texts often speak to taking responsibility for one’s life, working hard and being of service, whether financially or physically, and to stand with utmost integrity and morality. They speak to whatever our stature in life, rich or poor.
Compassion, Respect, and Unconditional Love We must be generous and compassionate, be it providing jobs if you are a successful businessman. It could also mean being generous in acts of service and care-taking if less fortunate. Spirituality speaks to
Omtimes.com
compassion, equality, respect for human rights, unconditional love for all treating others as one wishes to be treated. However, all texts speak to there must be balance. A prime example of how spirituality is found in both liberalism and conservatism are the two spheres on the Kabbalistic Tree of Life, Chesed and Geburah (Mercy and Severity). These spheres are the pistons of the Tree. If there is not balance between these two, the whole Tree of Life falls apart. Why? Chesed (liberal) speaks to a surrendering to compassion and unconditional love and is an expansive energy, while Geburah (conservative) speaks to containment of Chesed through laws and principles and is a restrictive energy. If Chesed is amplified, it is similar to a child with too much love and no parental guidance. Think of a woman who gives of herself in complete unconditional love and compassion. She may have no boundaries and be a doormat
to others. On the other hand, if you have too much Geburah, there can be arrogance, aggression, violence. Think of police officers or the military. Their energy is that of Geburah; they contain. When the two spheres balance, you have law enforcement working in compassion for the bigger picture, which is protection of citizens. If unbalanced, there is authoritarian enforcement.
Balance in Spirituality and Energy There must be balance. Here you find spirituality in both systems. God, or whatever reference one chooses, intends for us to have BOTH, provided it balances. There must be containment of any energy or the Tree (life) falls into chaos. Liberal, conservative… what does it matter? Both want the same thing for their themselves and families. There needs to be blending, understanding, balance of the two, mutual respect. So, what is the problem?
Currently, it appears the pendulum has swung so far to either side in recent years that we’ve lost sight of who we truly are as humans. Geburah and Chesed are unbalanced. It’s too far over in Geburah. Solution? Let’s all work together to bring US, the collective consciousness, back into balance by listening to one another rather than fighting and displaying anger which breeds more anger and violence. Let’s merge Chesed and Geburah bringing balance back to the Tree…to life! Peace! Global Enlightenment by Jill Mattson
Global Enlightenment A Blessed State
master your emotions, despite challenging circumstances.
The Buddhists describe enlightenment as a final blessed state marked by the absence of desire or suffering. Global enlightenment elevates awareness and consciousness, producing improvements on all levels. When you abide in harmonious, “enlightening energies for a sustained period, you make better choices and
Enlightening energies open intuition and awaken psychic abilities. Enlightenment strengthens your own personal power, while keeping your body healthy into old age. There are countless benefits. Enlightenment is something everyone wants, no matter what their beliefs are.
Omtimes.com
Enlightenment occurs with individuals, but also for countries, groups and ultimately the entire world. We can compare the global enlightenment of the world to the board game of Risk, in which each player attempts to dominate a world map. Risk players have different colored game pieces that they place on countries. Whoever gets the most pieces (representing countries) wins the game. If the game board is covered with blue pieces, then blue wins and red loses. There is no struggle between good and evil. It simply is a game of amassing quantities of colored game pieces.
Earth’s Frequency & Global Enlightenment This is a good analogy to see how the Earth gets her predominant frequency. Everyone “votes” on the overall frequency of the Earth, with their day-to-day choices, and simply by who they are. People continuously create frequencies by their thoughts, actions, and feelings. The Earth’s fundamental frequency equates to the average frequency of everything. The largest quantity of frequency becomes
the “dominant song” that the masses entrain to. The world-pool-of-vibrations can be likened to an impersonal game with the largest quantities of vibrations dominating. The greater volume of one frequency overcomes or entrains another. So, we must ponder: what are the vibrations that the world entrains to today? The vibrations in our music changes people’s frequencies. What are you listening to? When you pray for people in a war-torn area, your prayer is like adding a small colored piece on the Risk game board. When you pray in song form (a mantra or a hymn), you place a large game board piece into play. Sound amplifies the power of your prayers and intentions.
Highlights from Estonia’s History In Estonia, a small Eastern European country, I met Mara, who told me about a song festival that changed the lives of the Estonians. The Estonians had been horribly treated slaves for hundreds of years. They were demoralized and broken. When the Russian Czars fell from Omtimes.com
power, the Estonians saw their chance for freedom from Russia, but did not have the courage to seize the opportunity. In a country of a million people, half a million sang together 24 hours a day for five days. They created energy and unity that restored their wills, determination, and spirits. Mara credited their country’s courage and resulting freedom to the energy its people ingested from the song festival. Later, the Nazis seized Poland; in response, Russia overpowered Estonia. Under Stalin’s ownership, many people were randomly sent to Siberia daily, and most died. Can you imagine worrying if you are or a loved one would be randomly sent to a death camp every night? A Brutal Civil War & Aftermath Later, Hitler conquered part of Estonia. Both Russians and Germans forced the Estonians to fight for their side. The Estonians fought against each other, with brothers killing brothers and father killing sons. This instilled shame, once again breaking the spirit of the people. Omtimes.com
After World War II, the USSR occupation created harsh conditions, little food, few jobs, and severe lack of housing, but plenty of fear. This terrible negativity added up and the people were “broken” again. When the USSR collapsed, the Estonian people had no courage to gain their freedom and no will to fight. Once again, the Estonian people came together with a song-festival for five days, with a half-million people attending. Mara attended this song festival; it changed her and she will never be the same. Shortly afterwards, the Estonian people gained their freedom, crediting their courage to the energy created by their songs. To this day, the Estonian people hold a weeklong song festival every five years to harmonize, unite, and empower themselves. Music was successfully used for national transformation and enlightenment! Influence of Vibrations on Healing The influence of vibrations works both ways; outside energies influence you and
your vibrations influence others. Everything about you (thoughts, feeling, actions, and health) is part of the global vibrational energy pool. The stronger vibration overcomes the weaker. So, what is your contribution to the global energy pool? This can be a scary analogy as we are all less than perfect. Our shortfalls and low energy dips are not just ours; they drag others down, too. However, there is great beauty in this analogy as well. You matter; your thoughts, feelings, and actions can tip the balance of power. You don’t have to change the world, you have to uplift yourself, and this is powerful. The entire country of Estonia reached an emotional flat line. Singing from half of its population for a week transformed and uplifted the entire country - with profound and lasting impacts. The proper use of music, however, accomplished this powerful makeover for an entire country. Simply by listening to uplifting music (a lot) or singing (it doesn’t matter if you are a good singer or not), you amplify positive frequencies.
You become a megaphone as part of global enlightenment to shower uplifting energies everywhere in your vicinity! Listening to uplifting music can benefit so many, while you use no will power nor even attention. You can even listen when you sleep. So, what are you waiting for?
