Yuval Ron: Sound is the Future Medicine Interview by Kara Johnstad

I have with me in the studio the world-renowned musician, composer, educator, producer, and peace activist Yuval Ron and we are going to talk about divine attunement and sound consciousness. Yuval Ron began

Omtimes.com

composing professionally for theater and contemporary dance in Israel in the early 1980s. In the late 80s-early 90s, he worked as a composer for promotional videos, theater, television, and dance in Boston and New York. He scored his first feature film, “Urban Jungle,” produced in New York, in 1990. In the mid-late 90s, Yuval Ron was a composer for the Fox Kids network in Los Angeles, CA. In 2006, he composed music for the short film “West Bank Story,” a musical spoof of “West Side Story” that features two rival

gangs of fast food employees – the Israeli “Kosher King” vs. the Palestinian “Hummus Hut.” “West Bank Story” won the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film in 2007. Other notable scores include scores for PBS Nova (“Breaking the Maya Code”), Proteus, Oliver Twist, The Spiral Staircase, Golda’s Balcony and Road to Victory. Among Yuval’s many honors, Yuval was invited to perform for the Dalai Lama, has collaborated with the Sufi leader Pir Zia Inayat Khan and the master musician Omar Faruk Tekbilek.

Kara Johnstad: Yuval, your first book, Divine Attunement, Music as a Path to Wisdom, won the gold medal for the best book in the spirituality category at the Indie book awards. I feel blessed having You are here with me. Yuval Ron: Thank you. It’s wonderful to talk to you, Kara, as always, because we have a conversation from the inside, as you are a musician, and you know what I’m experiencing and what I’m talking about so it’s great to have this exchange of ideas. Kara Johnstad: I love your music, and I know you have many fans in Europe. Now I think you have even more fans because I’ve been listening to your music over the last months and there such a healing quality and it’s not only serene, there’s a rhythmic pulsation, they are such diverse woven tapestry. You know there’s a tapestry. I wanted to start in a different place today, the interview. A dream seems so ethereal and yet a dream if it’s

Omtimes.com

remembered and manifested it creates millions of opportunities. So today I would like to start with your dream. Can you name the dream that you carry within you for our world where your music is in that dream for our humanity? Yuval Ron: Yes. I used to say too many of my friends that I feel very fortunate person because I realized all my dreams have been very lucky and very fortunate. Dreams that I have since a teenager I managed to realize in this lifetime. I am in my mid-50s, and I felt that when I was 40, and one great dream still is on my list, so I’ve left with one dream which is not about my personal life but it’s about the life of humanity, it’s about the world, it’s about humanity, and it’s about peace. So that’s the one dream that is on my lap, and that’s what I’m focusing on, and I’m trying to address that not just in my work as a peace activist. I created an ensemble called

Yuval Ron Ensemble that has musicians and dancers from the Muslim and Jewish and Christian faith. We have been working for 20 years together and touring the world and teaching and performing ensuring that together we can create more harmony and more beauty, when we work together and when we respect each other and our musical tradition and our sacred traditions, poetry and music and sacred dance. So, I’ve been doing this work which is specifically addressing peace in the world and encouraging dialogue, and I’ve done that not just in the Middle East. I went to Korea, and I’ve done peace projects with the Koreans governments on the border between South Korea and North Korea. I have done the same in India, and Cuba. It was about bringing people together. I became involved in music healing- healing sounds, and that is for me is working on this same dream.

It is about bringing peace to this world, through healing the mind and the body. We are doing that through contemplative music, meditative music that is rooted in the medical traditions of China and India and neuroscience. Music therapy studies that come mostly from the West, and so it’s based on East and West wisdom traditions, science and ancient shamanic wisdom and the wisdom that I composed from these sources are meant to create inner peace in each listener, and through that, I hope to achieve peace. One more element in my work to try to promote that one last dream that I have is that I started three years ago I started a charitable foundation called Inspired Sound initiative. The Foundation has its base in Los Angeles, but it’s working all over the world. It’s about bringing education through music, and dance and storytelling two very difficult neighborhoods to

schools that have no arts, schools that the communities are struggling, and the youth are at risk, and we are trying to inspire those communities to rise above the difficult reality, like a lotus flower that grows out of the mud. So that is the dream. Kara Johnstad: A dream that I think it is feasible and it is doable. I think that it takes the courage to speak that, to give it a word, to say I believe and live world peace. You have been studying, you’re talking about the East and the West, so you had many experiences with different mystery schools, and we have the shamans in South America shamans, you know the Sufis, we have many different schools that work with sound. Would you like to share a little bit more about what it’s like to gain that wisdom from ancient practices? Yuval Ron: Yes. The Sufi tradition from India is a very rich tradition. It’s a very interesting lineage. I’ve been involved with an order of a saint that lived in India 100

Omtimes.com

years ago, and he is buried in Rajasthan India, and I have been in touch with that lineage which in Europe and of America it’s called the Inyati order. It started about 100 years ago a great teacher who was a master musician. Until very recently this great teacher who was a master musician came from India to America and Europe, and he had many followers all over the world. His grandson is the leader of the order right now. He became a friend of mine and a collaborator back in 2004, and since then I’ve been involved with their teaching and with their work, and I have studied some of the information from the books of his grandfather who wrote a classic book called the mysticism of sound and music or the mysticism of music. The Book influenced John Coltrane and Carlos Santana, many jazz musicians in the 60s. It was a cult classic in the 60s and in a way my book Divine Attunement, music is a path to wisdom, I see it as a continuation of his book about the mysticism of

music. Sufism that developed for hundreds of years in India finally came to the west. So that is one of the traditions.

had to be, the teacher had to sort out who is responsible because any tool can be used for good or for bad.

I studied the Jewish Kabbalistic for or Kabbalistic rabbis that I studied with their practice goes back to 11th century Egypt where there was an ecstatic Kabbalistic rabbi named Rabbi Abraham.

You know, television can be a wonderful educational tool, but television can be a horrible tool. So, the same thing with sound healing. With sound, with any tool. They had to sort out only people that are responsible, and that will use it responsibly and respectfully, and I still say to my students this, when they come to study with me in different retreat centers.

Kara Johnstad: Yuval, talking about sound healing and the mystery schools, because the sound is so powerful, and mindfulness can also be such a powerful place; do you think this is why these tools were kept a secret? If a voice practice for example, if somebody who is the enemy or is perhaps not consciously see such powerful tools it might bring more harm than harmony to our world? Yuval Ron: Yes, part of the reason that it was kept a secret is that people could get hurt and some people did. Some people lost their minds, some people got injured by body and mind wise, and it

Kara Johnstad: So, we sensed that there is a shift happening on planet Earth, and I see that across the board. I see that with Native American teachers here in America that are now teaching traditions and wisdom from the Native American which in the past they would teach only four people from the tribe. Now they teach people that are not part of the tribe in people who are not Native American, and I see that among the Sufi traditions.

Omtimes.com

They are opening up because there is a sense of urgency. Yuval Ron: Yeah, we have to respond to the crisis of the planet. We must respond with the end of these separations between men and women and young people and old people and people from different nations, different tribes; all these separations are old world. It’s irrelevant now. Now is the time that we all must unite because we all must work together to deal with the crisis of the planet. Because there is a cry of the planet because the planet has been abused and mismanaged and mishandled by humans to the point that now things start to get to catastrophic level. Kara Johnstad: And is that the heart of unity? Yuval Ron: Yeah. Unity is crucial for us to work together to come up with smart solutions to how we harmoniously live on earth. Kara Johnstad: So, everything is receiving and giving, everything alive has

Omtimes.com

a sound, has a pulsation, has a rhythm. We are in a relationship or relating to the planet Earth to each other, to one another. It doesn’t matter again whether you are 40 or 20, man/woman, black/white. It doesn’t matter because we all are pulsating magnetic beautiful electronic electric beings. We are connected with every single thing that is alive on this earth. Yuval Ron: Yes, it’s all vibration, and the universe is like a soup. In a soup, we are all particles, each one of us has a different vibration, and we all affect each other. Every little thing that is going on effects the molecules of air around it and every effect, every cause has an effect, and every action has a result, and we don’t see it because of our brain from evolutionary reasons our brain has been developed to slice reality to pieces and to see things as separate. It is because it is for personal survival. Life and death are one continuum. So, in all the traditions of contemplations and ecstatic

practices those practices were done in a group under the supervision of a master. You had to have somebody hold the space, somebody supervising, somebody who is navigating ecstatic so in those practices, the teacher often does not get ecstatic with the students, with the followers. However, the teacher holds the space watching and caring for the health of all the other human beings in the room or the field or in the mountain that is doing the practice, static practice. In tribal and shamanic cultures some ceremonies were taught to reach those ecstatic practices, but it would be a special occasion. They are not meant to be done every day all day because people had to hunt; people had to maintain their camp. The reasonable thinking mode doesn’t allow us to feel the deep connection between all of the things and the unity of all things then we are alienated from an aspect of ourselves and alienated of this one aspect of the universe, of the unity. The universe is a unity expressed through a

variety. What we see is variety; what is hidden is unity. They are missing the unity. Kara Johnstad: Yuval, in your music there’s an amazing sense of unlimited expansiveness. I stream your things from an MP3 player and yet there’s an expansive open possibility that’s there. Do you feel that there are always new musical sounds or ways that you approach music? Can rules be broken, maybe that’s the right question? Yuval Ron: I can see what you are describing. I like the layered sound. I like many layers; I like richness. Sometimes I compose with just one instrument; for example, of the solar chakra on the album voyage to the chakras the whole third chakra is just one solo cello, and it’s beautiful and powerful. So sometimes just one instrument is called for, and sometimes a whole symphony is called for her or many, many layers of electronic sounds and

Omtimes.com

acoustic sounds together. So, I’ve done much work for film, and I’ve done much work for modern dance and contemporary dance, for choreographers and theater and world music albums and they like rich sound. I look for the best sounds that I can get. When I record a cellist, for example, I tried to get the best microphone and the best studio and the best cellist with the best instruments and the richest most beautiful sound. That’s why I wouldn’t say I like MP3 and all of the streaming stuff because it’s degrading, the quality is less vibration than the real thing, so we went from analog, we used to have LPs, vinyl, this use to have all of the frequencies. When we went to digital format on CDs, there were some reductions in the amount of frequency. We are getting fewer sounds, and the music is still beautiful, the music is still great. That’s amazing. You could listen to old, old recordings of classical music that was recorded without very good microphones and it sounds

Omtimes.com

then but it still Mozart. I want to conclude by saying with a hopeful note is that I hope that the technology will improve and that we are all in a transition period that this would be remembered as the transition period of the digital revolution. The technology will improve, and it will allow for the Internet and work computers and phones to stream the full quality of sound which is much, much more information that the computer wizards will have to come up with the technology, a whole new technology to get the people. It will be the music in its full glory, and its full vibration through the Internet and that will fix this issue that we are experiencing nowadays. Kara Johnstad: I am sure that all of your albums are available at least in CD format. Yuval Ron: Sure, all of my albums are available on my website to download is high-quality tracks. If you go to the store on my website

and click on an album that you want to listen to, when you go to purchase it, you can purchase a CD, or you can download it. When you go to download it you can choose either to download as MP3 or to download the whole album as high-quality CD-quality FLAC files, Which is full quality. That is the reason why I work with my worldwide distribution is on a company called CD Baby.com Kara Johnstad: So, is it better that people go to CDbaby.com or give us again your home page address? Yuval Ron: They can go to CD baby.com and type Yuval Ron alternatively, they can go to my website which is yuvalronmusic.com, and they can find everything there. Kara Johnstad: What’s next on your agenda? You are doing very big beautiful leave ends that bring story and music and energy work and poetry I believe in gathering for our world, awake in our world to live

that vision of world peace? Yuval Ron: I’m going. Next, I’m going to Colorado. I have two weeks tour in Colorado. It will be starting in April 5 where I’m going to be teaching a long weekend retreat on sound, healing and sound meditations and sacred sound in Shambhala Mountain Center in Colorado. Then we have two weeks concert tour in teaching tours in Denver area and Boulder area, Colorado and then I’m going to teach in Northern California in Mendocino and in a wonderful new place called 1440. 1440.org and they call it multi-diversity, not a university but multi-diversity. I will be teaching there in July a five days course of the sacred music and dance meditations, and the healing sounds July 14 through the 19th. Kara Johnstad: I wish, and I know that your dream it will be, it is world peace; Is in the creating process and Yuval Ron is leading the way. Thank you so much. Yuval Ron: Thank you, Kara.

Alternative Answers for Diarrhea

Diarrhea is the frequent passing of loose or watery stools. Acute diarrhea appears rapidly and may last from one to ten days. Chronic diarrhea lasts much longer and is the second cause of childhood death in the developing world. Abdominal cramps or fever sometimes accompany diarrhea. It may be caused by infection, allergy, or could be a sign of a severe disorder, such as IBD (inflammatory bowel disease), which is Ulcerative Colitis or Crohn’s disease. Secretory diarrhea occurs when the gut is secreting more fluids than usual, or it cannot absorb fluids properly. In such cases structural damage is minimal. It is most commonly caused by a Omtimes.com

cholera toxin - a protein secreted by the bacterium Vibrio cholera. Osmotic diarrhea occurs when too much water is drawn into the bowels. It may be the result of celiac disease, pancreatic disease, or laxatives. Too much magnesium, vitamin C, undigested lactose, or unabsorbed fructose can also trigger osmotic diarrhea. The rapid movement of food causes Motility-related diarrhea through the intestines (hypermotility). If the food moves too quickly, there is not enough time to absorb sufficient nutrients and water. Patients who had a vagotomy (removal or severing of the vagus nerve), as well as those with diabetic neuropathy, are

susceptible to this type of diarrhea. Exudative diarrhea also called inflammatory diarrhea occurs with the presence of blood and pus in the stool. It occurs with inflammatory bowel diseases, such as Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis, and other severe infections such as E. coli or other forms of food poisoning. The lining of the gut becomes inflamed. It is usually caused by bacterial infections, viral infections, parasitic infections, or autoimmune problems. Tuberculosis, colon cancer, and enteritis can also cause inflammatory diarrhea. Dysentery, in general, is the presence of blood in the stools is usually a sign of dysentery, rather than diarrhea. Dysentery is caused by a release of excess water caused by an antidiuretic hormone from the posterior pituitary gland. Dysentery is one of the symptoms of Shigella, Entamoeba histolytica, and Salmonella.

What causes diarrhea? Acute diarrhea (short term diarrhea) It is usually caused by an infection and is also a symptom of a bowel infection when the stomach and

the intestines become inflamed (gastroenteritis). It may be caused by: 1. A virus - most commonly a norovirus or rotavirus. It could also be caused by a hepatitis virus or the herpes simplex virus. Viral diarrhea spreads easily. 2. A bacteria - if food or water is contaminated bacteria and parasites can be transmitted into the body. Parasites may include Giardia lamblia and cryptosporidium. Examples of bacteria are campylobacter, salmonella, shigella and Escherichia coli (E. coli). Bacteria or parasites usually cause Traveler’s diarrhea. Researchers at Boston University School of Medicine identified the structure of bacteria responsible for traveler’s diarrhea. 3. An antibiotic - antibiotics can disturb the natural balance of bacteria in our intestines, which can lead to infection, commonly with a bacterium called Clostridium difficile. The following may also be causes of acute diarrhea: Anxiety Consuming too much Omtimes.com

alcohol Consuming too much coffee Some other medications, other than antibiotics Causes of chronic diarrhea (persistent, longer-term diarrhea)

diarrhea often carries a risk of dehydration, especially if it includes vomiting. It is important to make sure babies and children are getting plenty of fluids.

Bacteria A virus Laxatives Some dietary habits - long term regular alcohol, coffee consumption may cause persistent diarrhea. Regular eating of candy (sweets) can too. Many sugar-free chewing gums containing a sweetener called sorbitol can cause chronic diarrhea.

2. Diarrhea may affect the balance of salts and electrolytes in the body. Special dehydration drinks can be bought in a pharmacy to restore their balance. A pharmacist can advise on which drinks to consume.

The British Medical Journal reported that the following long-term conditions could cause chronic diarrhea: Celiac disease Crohn’s disease Diabetes Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) Ulcerative colitis Treatment for Diarrhea

3. Eat as soon as you feel up to it: doctors used to tell people not to eat until the symptoms went away. They now recommend patients start with foods such as pasta, bread, rice or potatoes, foods high in carbohydrates, as soon as possible. Add a bit of salt to the food to replace the salt loss. Avoid foods that are high in fat.

In the vast majority of cases, diarrhea will disappear within a week or so. Before it does, the following steps may help ease symptoms:

4. Medications: such medicines as loperamide may slow down bowel movements and may also increase the gut’s water absorption. Do not give antidiarrhea medications to children without checking first with a doctor. Do not take anti-diarrhea medications if there is blood in the stool or if you have a fever.

1. Drink plenty of fluids:

5. Breastfeeding or bottle:

feeding babies doctors recommend that feeding continues as normal if the baby has diarrhea. If necessary, add rehydration drinks that are bought from a pharmacy. 6. Painkillers: for fever or headache doctors recommend Tylenol (paracetamol) or ibuprofen. If you have kidney, liver or long-term stomach problems, do not take ibuprofen. Do not give aspirin if your child is under 16 years of age. 7. Probiotics: these are supposed to treat diarrhea, among other things. However, a study published in the British Medical Journal indicated that some of them don’t work, while others do.

promotion in Pakistan decreased the incidence of diarrhea by more than 50 percent among children, according to a study. 2. Keeping the kitchen and toilets: as clean as possible also reduces the risk. When handling raw meats wash your hands before touching other things, such as other foods, work surfaces, cutlery. 3. If you are traveling: to a warm country remember that uncooked foods are more likely to have bacteria than hot food. Depending on where you are, it is sometimes advisable to avoid having ice in your drinks if you are not sure where the water to make the ice came. References:

Doctors may prescribe specific medications, depending on the results of the stool test.

Prevention 1. Hand washing: regular hand washing with soap and warm water helps reduce the risk of catching or passing on germs. Especially after going to the toilet, playing with pets, gardening, and before touching food. An intensive program of handwashing education and

The Energetic & Disruptive Influence of Tattoos by OMTimes There are many forms of physical expression, among them, we find the tattoos. The term tattoo comes from the French tatouage and, in turn, from the English tattoo, having

Omtimes.com

the most remote origin in Polynesian languages in the word tatau is used to describe is one of the most known and culturally modified forms of the world. The tattoo is a permanent drawing made in the deepest subcutaneous region of the human skin through the introduction of pigments by needles. The act of drawing and writing in one’s own body comes from ancient times. There is much evidence that tattoos were used from ancient Egypt (4000 to 2000 BC) and by ancient Polynesian, Filipino, Indonesian, and New Zealand natives. For many today, it is about symbolic exposing a taste, an attitude or even affection for a person or something. Much more than a drawing on the skin, the tattoos, and their images also represent energetic influences and deeper meanings that the tattooed person may not know. See the tips on the meanings of some symbols and guidelines on what you should consider

before tattooing the skin. Ă–tzi, the famous mummy of a man who lived in 3300 BC discovered in the Italian Alps in 1991, is covered with 61 tattoos in the form of groups of lines and crosses. Unlike modern methods, his tattoos were not produced with needles, but through fine incisions in the skin where coal dust was introduced. Ă–tzi tattoos are located at points where your body has undergone considerable strain during your life and most likely caused him much pain due to the wear and tear. Tattoos were therefore probably conceived as therapeutic measures and not necessarily as an attitudinal socially constructed or a symbol. Tattoos: The symbolic Images Tattoos can be symbols with universal meanings, which also contain the personal impressions of those who want to tattoo them. Tattooing a drawing can also be a form of expression, of wanting to experience what that drawing represents.

Omtimes.com

However, two people may have different visions and experiences using with the same symbol. You tie the meaning you want to your tattoo and what others can see. In the East, the tattoo was and is mainly used for religious purposes and tribal identification. In Hinduism, making a mark on the forehead is encouraged as this is believed to increase spiritual well-being. Several Hindu women tattoo their faces with points, especially around the eyes and chin, to ward off evil and increase beauty. Local tribes use the tattoo to differentiate themselves from certain clans and ethnic groups. The Energy of the Symbols in Tattoos. Are there Bioenergetic Implication on using Tattoos? We are all subject to emotional, mental, and spiritual imbalances. That which occurs in the physical body of a person reflects in his energetic field and vice versa. In this sense, a tattoo,

Omtimes.com

depending on the type and location chosen on the body, will act to varying degrees, intensifying and possibly causing such imbalances. For some energy healing experts, the chosen tattoo may represent a certain energy level that is not healthy or ideal. The same goes for the place that one chooses to have the tattoo. There are balance points in our body that, when undergoing external interference of a symbol, can lose all its balance. The human body is composed of channels of energy circulation, which interpenetrate the physical body and with the functions of the various organs. One can only imagine what happens to the body if any of those channels undergo blockages, or If you already have a location in the body that is lacking balance; your energy may suffer even more alterations. That is why any alteration of the cellular pattern, even if superficial or skin, also changes

the field of energy of a being, because they are closely linked, the physical and the energetic. Looking at it this way, we can say that a tattoo creates a new energy pattern for a person’s aura, causing their vital vibration to change their flow and alter their frequency, being diverted, drained or even accumulated at that tattooed point. That may happen because these two fields are interconnected, the physical body and the energetic one. These alterations can be confirmed through many of the modern studies radiesthesia studies. Tattoo and the Behavior Element It is an accepted hypothesis that people who tattoo their entire bodies or fill them with piercings carry intense memories of past experiences involving warmongering. Some have had retrocognitions when observing tattoos seen in their psychosomatic selves. The tattoo on the body would

evoke the same patterns of thoughts and feelings that marked those lives, which would undermine the tattooed person’s current energy pattern by evoking these conflict situations. It is what we call the automimese. Stigmata. By acquiring a tattoo, the person is saying something of itself. Self-stigmatization is how Conscientiology classifies the tattoo, still defining it as a type of anti-physiological aberration, an anti-anatomic attitude comparable to self-flagellation, a self-stigmatization. Selfstigmatization is the act of the person performing a voluntarily certain action, obvious or subtle, capable of stigmatizing it immediately, causing damage. Accessing the Right Body Part and the right Symbol The place where you pick to receive your tattoo is of vital importance. Tattoos, as well as piercings, alter the flow of bioenergies that come in and

Omtimes.com

out of our bodies. This effect seems to have been known for a long time, as shown by the tattoos found in Ă–tzi. If you feel you tend to absorb the negative energy of others, or you are susceptible to energy vampires, you should avoid tattoos on the back of your neck. It is a point known to be one of the places that absorb flows of energies. The Om symbol at the back of the neck can create the propensity for one to absorb even more energies from the environment, instead of protecting you, it will be likely that the OM symbol will expand this possibility without limitations. Another example is the use of the moon symbol. As a representation of mutability, constant change and sensitive reality, the use of this symbol can aggravate the general emotional state of someone that is not emotionally stable, to begin. The idea is to search for images

Omtimes.com

that have positive meaning for who will do the tattoo; this is the most advisable. It is important to consult with an energy therapist or acupuncturist after receiving the tattoo. It is because the meridians of the body and the energetic field of each person must undergo rebalanced after the drawing is finally placed. Be Certain, and no Regrets

Information is never too much. One piece of advice that you are in doubt is to study well the meaning of the symbol to tattoo if it does not have a very clear meaning for you. Living this meaning may be the best answer to understand if it is worth living with it in the body. Being constantly visualizing what you will tattoo is also a good way to get accustomed to the symbol. Try placing it in a frame and hang it in the room so that the image can become more familiar

5 Tips For Making Better Choices by John Holland

Throughout your life, every choice and decision you made has brought you to this very point at this precise moment in time. I do believe that some events in one’s life can be attributed to fate, whereas

Omtimes.com

others are just meant to happen. However, you have free will, and it’s your choice at that moment to determine what you do, the direction you take, and how to respond to the outcome of that decision. Your Soul Journey As a soul, you’re an accumulation of all your experiences that are happening now, as well as those that happened in the past. It’s the choices that you make as a result of those experiences, that determines the choices you make for the rest of your life. There are many different roads that you may decide to take on your soul’s journey. When your soul incarnates here in the physical world, its predestined journey will take you from point A to point B. It’s your choice and your free will as to which route you take and how fast you want to get there. You may take the fast route, direct from A to B, or you may meander through different side roads, experiencing all that life has to offer, as you

take your time in getting to your soul’s ultimate destination. It’s your choice! Sometimes, it’s good to let go of the river’s edge and let the flow of life take you to where you’re supposed to be. It can be quite liberating when you do let go. Suddenly, exciting opportunities and choices appear, but surprisingly, you still feel safe even though you’ve let go of the outcome. Of course, there are other times when it makes more sense to grab a pair of oars and steer yourself in a certain direction. Your choice is your own free will —so, either hang on or let go! Here are five tips to help you make better choices in your life: ~ ONE ~ Tap into the power of your soul. Next time you make a decision, stop for a moment and ask yourself: “How do I feel about this decision?” “Does it feel positive or negative, and why?” “What does my soul want me to do?” By doing this, you’ll be guided to make better choices.

Omtimes.com

~ TWO ~ Positively begin your day. It’s always your choice as to what kind of day you want to have. Even before your foot touches the floor, try smiling. You don’t need a reason. By just smiling, you’ll positively begin your day. Remember, all thought creates reality, so by starting your day in this way, you’ll attract more positive vibes and opportunities into your day.

you build your intuition and confidence. ~ FOUR ~ Choose from the heart. Try to look beyond what you see in front of you. Layers of life’s issues may be covering the goodness that’s inside people. Look deeper to feel if they have a kind, pure heart. Look for the good that’s in every person and every situation.

~ THREE ~

~ FIVE ~

Trust your intuition. Your intuition can be an excellent resource to help you make important decisions. Imagine two roads in front of you, going in opposite directions with individual signs representing an important decision you need to make. Take your time as you walk down each road and observe all the surroundings. Notice everything. Are the roads rugged or smooth? Is the landscape rich with greenery or is it barren? Use this technique for small decisions at first, as

Make peace with poor choices. At one time or another, we’ve all made bad choices in our lives. Hopefully, we learn from them, try to not to do them again and move on. By making peace with a bad choice from the past, it will help you adopt a more positive mindset to make better choices in the future. By this simple act, you’re making a commitment to yourself and your soul to be all that you can be.

Create A Relationship With Money Based On Freedom? Your energy leads the way. Consciousness arrives well before your tangible self and is the nutrient in the soil which creates the harvest of your goodness. What most

Omtimes.com

of us forget is that often we are “fertilizing” our garden with pain and heartbreak, rather than freedom and abundance. So, when it comes to money, how do you ensure that your consciousness is creating abundance rather than heartbreak? How do you move away from your mindset and the collective consciousness of lack? Moving into Acceptance

In spiritual circles, there is much talk about beliefs and not enough about acceptance. If you are busy trying to change your belief system and still “hating” where you are in life, you are creating more struggle in your transformation. When you accept where you are, what has happened, and your current situation you have entered into the consciousness of neutrality and can more easily welcome in something new. Acceptance doesn’t mean that you have to like the situation. Moving into

acceptance means you are aware that external circumstances are not the cause of your happiness. When we are in acceptance, there is a deep knowledge that nothing in our external world can “make” or “take away” our happiness. When you are in acceptance, you are dedicated to undertaking the resolution of challenges; not because it will make you feel better but because there is always a solution to every issue that arises. How do you move into acceptance? You get to stop identifying with the situation which is causing non-acceptance. You are not your bank account; you are not your relationship, you are not your physical appearance. You are the individualization of the One, and that is what you identify with. Mindful Eating: A Powerful Tool for the Successful Entrepreneur Marcia Sirota, MD.

Successful entrepreneurs are amazing individuals. They’re hard-working and dedicated to their endeavors. They’re striving to meet and even surpass their goals. They’re always doing their best to maximize their

Omtimes.com

performance. What they might not realize, but, is that one particularly bad habit could be sabotaging their success. We all have deadlines to meet and goals to achieve, and we can be so busy that we let our eating slide. Unfortunately, when we sacrifice our nutrition, we pay a higher price than we realize. This is especially true when we eat mindlessly for months on end. Ultimately, we suffer from a worsening mood, lower or frazzled energy, a negative attitude and, compromised relationships Entrepreneurs think that they’re clever cutting corners by skipping meals or subsisting on junk food, but in this way, they’re undermining their success. If you think that by not stopping for proper meals, you’re going to do more, you’re incorrect because, it’ll catch up with you. If you’re an entrepreneur who’s eating mindlessly while trying to build your business, your relationships might end up suffering. Poor nutrition has emotional consequences

as much as physical ones; making you more irritable and impatient. You might snap at a colleague and undermine a potential new business association. You might lose your cool and look bad when you need to impress an investor. As an entrepreneur, your creativity, your stamina, and your concentration are all essential for your success. But all these things diminish if you don’t have enough highquality fuel to feed your body and your brain. If you were a race car driver, you’d want to win every race, so you’d never dream of putting poor-quality fuel into your vehicle. It makes sense that if you’re going to win in your career, you should think in a serious way about what you eat. I understand why people eat mindlessly. There’s so much going on and so much to do that it’s easy to neglect one thing or another. But eating is the one area you can’t afford to overlook. How you choose to fuel yourself

Omtimes.com

affects your energy, focus and follow through as well as your resilience in the face of challenges and your ability to persevere. Without adequate, high-quality fuel, you can’t be at your best or do your best work. The truth is that you can’t afford to engage in mindless eating if you want to achieve most success and maintain it in the long-run. These days we have some strange attitudes toward food and eating. We seem to have forgotten that the role of food is as a source of fuel, not as a source of pleasure or gratification.

you’re working so hard, you need higher quality food; not the junk you’re consuming. When for example, you eat a fast-food meal full of simple carbs, you get a quick burst of energy, followed by a profound sense of lethargy as the body has to work extra hard to process all the sugar that you ate. That’s where the phrase “carb coma” comes from. Anyone who has important business goals would want to know if they were doing something to sabotage their success. It’s easier to see a problem if it lies in how you delegate work, manage staff or focus on tasks. It’s less obvious when it comes to how you eat.

Of course, food is delicious. It has to be, for our survival. The problem today is that many of us eat almost only for pleasure or convenience, with little regard for how the food we eat is affecting our body, our mind, and our emotions.

But what if you could do something right now that gave you more energy and higher concentration; enhanced your creativity and put you in a better mood? Wouldn’t you do it? All you have to do is eat more.

Many entrepreneurs are tired and over-worked, so it’s easy to turn to comfort food. But when

So, what is mindful eating? Mainly it’s being aware of why you’re eating and what

Omtimes.com

you’re eating. For an over-eater, mindful eating is recognizing when you’re eating to deal with your emotions, as opposed to when you’re hungry. For an entrepreneur, mindful eating is considering the kind of fuel that would optimize your performance and lead you more directly to success. Elite athletes do this all the time. They visit sports nutritionists who figure out the exact ratios of carbs, protein, micro-nutrients, and fats that they need to perform at the highest level. The truth is that it’s not only athletes who enjoy good nutrition. Entrepreneurs who eat mindfully can ensure that they’re in the best possible shape to achieve their goals. Mindful eating for an entrepreneur is making sure that you get high-quality food throughout the day so that your blood sugar remains stable and you do not have the midmorning slump from a too-sugary breakfast or the mid-afternoon brain fog from a poor-quality lunch or no lunch at all.

When you start to eat in a mindful way, you became more alert and focused, energetic and yet calm. You’re productive, and you roll with the punches. All you must do is put some attention on how you’re eating and what you’re eating, and things are going to change. So, instead of paying minimal attention to your nutrition, you could choose right now to eat mindfully. This might be the secret weapon that puts you ahead of the competition. The smart entrepreneur is always looking to adopt the most powerful new tools that will maximize their success. Mindful eating is one of the most powerful tools to get you to your goals. Check out my new online course, How to Stop Overeating, Once and For All and learn how to lose the weight, without ever having to diet again. Sign up here for my free monthly wellness newsletter.

A Life Beyond Loss by Jayita Bhattacharjee

Saying goodbye to someone we love is never easy. To wave the final farewell to the nearest and dearest is one of life’s most difficult thing to do. It is a life that

Omtimes.com

pushes us sometimes, to do the most undoable thing. How to get through a hardest hit and still come out alive, the pathway varies from person to person. Someday we will need to return to the places we ran away from, to the life we need to live with what is left. The question is how. Millions of people throughout the world harm themselves while trying to escape this type of suffering. The truth is, as we open ourselves to the pain, we open ourselves to joy again. There will come a time, when the words of comfort from family and friends, will heal only so much, and the rest of the journey is ours and ours alone. However, the saddest truth is grief never works linearly. It never follows a straight line. So, how do we get through something that gave us the hardest blow? Many go through silent

suffering that the world knows nothing about. Some are ashamed to admit what a profound emptiness they are going through. Waking up can be waking to a staring void. Going to bed is returning to a place that is painted with previous moments of yesterday’s life. However, we have to return to normalcy, someday, someway, somehow. We cannot say no. We don’t have any options left. So, why don’t we wipe the rain of pain, and choose the path of creativity as an escape route from the agony that cuts us inside? Hard as it may be, sad as it may sound, a loss is just a part of living. We do ourselves no justice or service while we deny the devastating damage that erupts unexpectedly though our lives. We are faced with living through loss, and the curiosity of how to get there in a healthy, wholesome manner. Not by seeking refuge in drugs,

Omtimes.com

alcoholism, eating disorder, compulsive shopping, getting into relationships. To heal from one self-medicated form of relief, we go another. Hoping and wishing that a relationship journey might bring the light of healing. It doesn’t; rather it pulls us back into the seething darkness. Exploring the landscape of loss, we let the loss unfold life’s brilliant narrative, full of beauty and bloom. As we hold on to those who are close to our hearts, we seek refuge in the comfort of their words and company. They may not take away our cutting pain, but their understanding and companionship can be a lot in the most challenging times. They can make us stand when our feet seem to fail. Even though one day we have to stand on our own, they can be there until the need for their comfort comes. We can engage in a world

Omtimes.com

of arts because it fills our hearts. It can chisel through the sorrow. Moreover, where many things fail, it is the world of colors as we hold a brush, it is the weaving of words as we hold a pen, that can bring us something in our darkest days. It is art that can calm us down on our stormiest days. The emotional us begins to calm, and we become steadier with rising the creativity that lights our hearts. We can slow down the pace of our lives and allow ourselves the time to heal. As a buried pain can be deadly, one that can chase us for a lifetime, grief has no timeline. Take time to hold the unfolding beauty of nature. We have probably forgotten the music of life while living in the faster lanes, but the music never dies. It is us who kill it, with our relentless chase after things. As we take ourselves off those faster lanes of

life and see through, hear through, feel through the hidden beauties of nature, we feel the breeze again. We can take the time, as time is all ours. We need not withdraw ourselves, as in the process we will lose more of ourselves. We can step outside or, let our world be smaller than it once was. We may make and lose several friendships during this journey of healing. Still, this is a walk we have to take. As we permit ourselves to receive support, in the retreat of those who care for our hearts, healing begins. Grieving has no identity, it has no social status. We should push our worries about society’s perceptions aside and allow ourselves to grieve in the sheltering arms of those who love us. We can make room for new friendships in the worst times. Trusting the

cycle of life will show us someday, that the sun will rise, breaking through the clouds. Moreover, it will be a new day. Will life ever be the same? No, of course not. We will always carry our loss. Still, we can have an experience beyond loss, whose music, albeit different, will call our hearts again. Jayita Bhattacharjee, born in Calcutta, India, studied at the University of Houston in Economics, had chosen her career as a trustee and teacher. Superfoods to Keep Your Pets Optimally Healthy By: Dr. Judy Morgan, holistic veterinarian and author of “Yin & Yang Nutrition for Dogs”

Pets are important members of the family, often considered as “fur-children”, and treated as such. For aging Baby Boomers like me, they help fill the empty nest once our children move out on their own. For millennials, pets are companions while careers and life experiences take precedence before settling into family life with children. Omtimes.com

Because pets have moved into the bed, are taken on family vacations, and occupy a central role in family dynamics, pet owners have become more acutely aware of the quality of food being added to the bowl at meal times. Current human food trends include incorporation of

organic, grass-fed, chemical-free ingredients whenever possible; these trends are spilling over into the pet world. Pet food manufacturers are very aware of these trends, resulting in the appearance of new companies that appeal to this audience. However, not everyone can afford to feed complete, prepared diets that fall into this category. There are simple food hacks that any pet owner can add to the processed meals that can improve health and longevity, with increased energy and vitality. Some of my favorite “super-foods” are: Sardines – Fresh, frozen, or canned sardines can be added to any meal. I have six dogs that weigh between fifteen and twenty pounds. I generally split two cans of sardines in water among the pack two or three times a week. Sardines provide omega 3 fatty acids and CoenzymeQ10 that contribute to heart, brain, joint, kidney, and skin health. They help support a healthy immune system. Because these fish are small, they have lower mercury content than large fish, decreasing chances of

heavy metal toxicity. The bones are soft and easily digestible, providing a source of added calcium for strong bones and teeth. Blueberries and Cranberries – These small berries are a powerhouse of Vitamin C and other antioxidants, which help decrease inflammation throughout the body. Cranberries have the added benefit of an ingredient called A-type proanthocyanidins (PACs), which interfere with bacteria’s ability to adhere to the bladder wall. This ingredient is especially helpful for pets prone to recurrent urinary tract infections. For best absorption, berries should be crushed or cooked, but fresh berries make awesome treats. One to four tablespoons per day, depending on the size of the cat or dog, will provide the necessary nutrients. Reishi, Maitake, or Shiitake mushrooms – While many websites say that mushrooms are toxic for animals, they are really referring to poisonous mushrooms. Medicinal mushrooms, on the other hand, provide incredible health benefits. (White button Omtimes.com

mushrooms do not provide the same elements.) These fungi provide anti-viral, anti-bacterial, and immune-boosting properties to the body. They are touted for providing cancer-fighting, liver-protective, and allergyreducing effects. They also help stabilize blood sugar in diabetic pets. Mushrooms are most effective when gently cooked. I like to gently sautee’ them in coconut or olive oil. Mushroom extract capsules are also widely available. Pumpkin – This super-food can be added as fresh or canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie mix). If using fresh pumpkin, it will need to be chopped and cooked to increase digestibility. Pumpkin provides a great source of soluble and insoluble fibers which are important for fermentation and proliferation of the healthy bacteria in the large intestine. Healthy gut flora improves immune system function. Pumpkin also provides a great source of Beta-carotene, which converts to Vitamin A (dogs perform this conversion at a much higher level than cats), necessary for eye health and immune system function. One

Omtimes.com

to four teaspoons of pumpkin per day is plenty to achieve the health benefits it offers. Eggs – Eggs are packed with healthy protein, fats, and vitamins. The yolk provides a healthy fat source that is high in fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K. Many processed pet diets are deficient in these vitamins, as oxidation occurs during processing and storage, degrading the vitamins. Unlike people, pets are not capable of converting sunlight into Vitamin D, requiring dietary sources of this vitamin. Pets with heart disease have been shown to be deficient in Vitamin D. The egg white provides high quality protein, along with some B vitamins and potassium. Hard boiled eggs make a wonderful treat. Egg shells can be ground and added to meals to provide an extra calcium source. Generally one-half to one egg per day is recommended. Dark leafy greens – Kale, spinach, collard greens, parsley, dandelion greens, and mustard greens are packed with chlorophyll, fiber, and vitamins. These greens are particularly

helpful to maintain liverhealth and may help prevent cancer. These greens need to be processed in a food processor or cooked to break down the plant cell walls and enhance absorption and usefulness in the body. Anywhere from one teaspoon to one quarter cup of pureed, cooked greens can be added to the daily diet. When making additions to a commercially prepared diet, be sure to consider the extra calories that are being added to the bowl. While ingredients such as dark leafy greens and pumpkin may actually help overweight pets move toward a more ideal weight, ingredients such as eggs and sardines will add extra calories that must be included in daily feeding calculations. One can of sardines in water or one egg will provide between 75 and 100 calories. The average calorie requirements for small dogs and cats are approximately thirty calories per pound per day, while medium and large dogs will require closer to twenty calories per pound. Activity level will play a role in caloric needs; don’t forget to factor that in.

Overall, pets will do fine sharing healthy food ingredients with their humans. Avoid grapes, raisins, Macadamia nuts, onions, yeast doughs, and any foods containing xylitol, which are toxic for our furry friends. ABOUT DR. Relationships The interconnectiveness among all human beings and, consequently, the relationships among us are the focus of this section. The dynamics of the web of connections we make is one of the most prominent aspects of human existence: how we interlace with each other’s existence in a meaningful way.

How to Invoke Love’s Divine Magic by Guy Finley

Imagine that we’re out to dinner, driving in a car somewhere, or maybe just lying in bed moments before it’s time to turn out the lights. All is well.

Omtimes.com

Everything seems quiet. Then, seemingly out of nowhere, our partner tosses a “grenade” into our lap.

a hundred times and that there’s nothing new or good about getting there; just more of the same.

Suddenly, but too late, it’s obvious: we didn’t see any of the familiar signs that usually indicate a conflict is about to erupt. Perhaps they say something overtly cruel or make some passive aggressive comment to remind us where we went wrong earlier that evening, or maybe even five years ago.

In that same revelation, in fact as a part of its remembrance, we now see what we couldn’t before: we’re about to wade into a “war” with our partner that can’t be won no matter which of us seems to come out on top! So, given what this new level of higher awareness shows us as being true, there’s the only logical, and ultimately loving action left for us to do: we refuse the call to combat.

Almost instantly, from out of our mouth comes pouring a host of tried and true things we tend to say in similar situations; words with edges to cut, some smooth enough to defuse the situation, others more forceful, and all designed to turn the tide of battle and push our partner back onto their heels. Then, a shift; something within us remembers that we’ve been where this fight is about to take us at least

Instead of going ballistic, we go inwardly quiet. But let us tread this new path carefully: we are not surrendering ourselves to the misguided will or whims of our partner. We’ve seen how that path leads only to resentment when, as it must happen, we can no longer bear the brunt of

Omtimes.com

being in such an inequitable relationship. The real question before us, given we can see the truth of our situation, is this: what difference does it make which of us seems to be “steering” our canoe when we’re both headed for the falls! One of us has to wake up and change course, even if our partner is unable, or even unwilling to see the wisdom of that choice at the time we make it. That’s why we don’t engage as an “enemy” someone that we loved only moments before. Instead, we deliberately drop the false assumption that coercing our partner to pay for our pain can do anything other than increasing whatever resentment may be growing between us. speak its demands, without which there is no fight. In short, we give ourselves up. We surrender...but not to our partner. Instead, we take the one path that remains open to us, given what our new understanding about higher love has shown us is true. Having seen that we remain powerless to drop our unconscious demands and how – much in the same way – our partner is equally unable to do anything other than insisting we make the “payment due” for their pain, we are left with no other option: We agree to “die” to any parts of us we can feel trying to push us, in any way, to identify with and then enact their old solutions. Rather than uselessly suffer some well-worn pain that our lower nature usually blames on our partner, we not only choose to drop it but also any familiar sense

of ourselves that may be connected to it, as well. In other words, we agree to voluntarily suffer the death of this false self that love has shown us knows not what it does to us, let alone to those we want least to hurt. Making this intention – and striving to enact it, as a life-long practice with our partner – is doing our part in realizing unconditional love. In truth, it’s the only thing that is in our power to do. Which brings us to this closing promise: If we do our part, love will do the rest; but we must put it to the test. Embrace these new ideas. Enact them. Let them prove love’s power to heal and perfect all who will dare invoke its divine magic. Excerpted from Relationship Magic: Waking Up Together by Guy Finley.

What are Karmic Illnesses and How to Deal with them? by Humanity Healing

The word karma comes from Sanskrit, the ancient sacred language of Hindu peoples. In its literal translation, we Omtimes.com

have the word “action.” However, in the religions that have adopted this concept it over the years, it ended up mainly signifying the action that produces consequence or, the result, the consequence of past actions. Many added to the Karma concept, affirming that is meaning is not to punish an individual but rather offer life lessons through direct experience. KARMA IN SPIRITUALISM

In spiritualism, karma is seen as the fruit gathered and brought by our spirits to this lifetime. It is a compendium of experiences and tests coming from other existences or past lives. All our past lives bring us at least, one kind of karma. It is precisely through this brought karma that the need for reincarnation arises so that in the next lives we can consolidate, learn and solve and grow wiser with them. KARMA: AND WHAT ARE THE KARMIC DISEASES?

The diseases of karma, popularly known as karmic diseases, or illnesses are the

consequences of past karmas reflected in today’s life, through mental, emotional or physical modifications. When we get sick, the cause is usually an exterior one, such as exposure to a cold wind, virus contamination that has come into our body and extemporaneous rain. However, when we speak of karmic diseases, there will always be internal factors, mental or emotional remnants of past lives that arise in the present life and, if not addressed and solved – they may continue to arise again in future lives. If we were very poor in the past and suffered a lot from it, it is common for future lives to develop a kind of greed, not so negative, but very close to being thrifty. We will always be saving things, trying to spend little, because somewhere in our subconscious there is the precaution that something bad happens when you do not have money. The same process is repeated Omtimes.com

in various ways according to the karmic Laws and can affect us in future lives. The problem is when this happens in a very physical or negative way. DISEASES: WHEN KARMA IS NEGATIVE

Negative and low-vibration karmic diseases are very bad for our evolution as spiritual beings, and in one way they show us that we are not getting enough Divine light as we should. These diseases usually develop in conjunction and interaction with another human factor, in other words, it was necessary for another person to participate in the action for a karmic illness to develop. Excessive guilt is a common factor that contributes to a very common cardiac disease that sometimes we do not even notice. You know that person who feels guilty for everything, that is always apologizing and crying for no reason? Well, sometimes the person has no current pendency in her present life but carries with her a lot of past traumas and suffering. Omtimes.com

Victims of abuse, fraud, or betrayals which have not been able to withstand this distress, can hide their angst so profoundly that their future lives affect them with depression, panic syndrome, and even cancers, tumors created and fueled by the grudges withheld through time. INVOLUNTARY DISEASES OF KARMA

Another topic about the diseases of karma is the passivity of actions. It happens when our body hurts itself in various ways, whether voluntary or not. Usually through accidents and incidents that caused such a trauma that the pain and hurt and sometimes even scars can continue to manifest in future lives. In addition to this controversial subject, the karmic disease could be a result of passive observations. When we speak of this, we use the literal meaning of the term. When, in life, we see bad things or see evil actions without acting against it, most likely your spirit may

reincarnate in a person with myopia, or with marked levels of blindness. This observation is recorded in the Tibetan book of the dead. Everything that passes through our eyes, and does not generate momentum, creates in our mind a reservoir of sorrow, of something we could have done. The main reasons for this kind of karma are an injustice. When you see an unjust situation and do not act to defend the victim, your eyes amass in your vibrations so negative that they will permeate your entire life, coming to the next. Karmic illnesses, whether they are emotional, physical or mental, can affect us at any stage in our lives; One should keep in mind that what you feel in your body today may not be karmic, but the result of bad habits and lifestyle. Karmic diseases are here to finish a process that may have started and was impressed in your soul. Before assuming your illness is a Karmic one, first seek some spiritual counseling. Omtimes.com

The“B like Body: Beauty, Beliefs and Blossoming by Johanna Kern

When we were born, the first that we noticed was our body. It breathes, moves and works for us around the clock. Our body is our most loyal friend. It loves us, it works for us and supports us in our growth. If our body fails us in any way, it is never at fault.

Omtimes.com

Beauty: Each body, regardless of its shape, weight, or age is in its unique way beautiful. Of course, we all have a preference. However, the preferences are mostly associated with current trends or the way our environment has programmed us. While current fashions push the overly skinny image on society – not everyone is naturally slim. Our bodies often become more round because of their nature. There is nothing to correct. All is the way it is supposed to be. On the other hand, if we become overweight or overly skinny because of neglecting our health, it needs to be addressed. Beliefs: Preferences, just as trends, often change. Each of us is unique. If we take a look at other animals in nature, we realize that they perceive all bodies as equally precious. Imagine the reaction of a Bulldog if we told him that he was too fat. Alternatively,

picture a Greyhound’s response if we told him he’s too skinny. Or we told a Chihuahua that he’s too short, and a Great Dane that he’s too tall. They would probably roar from laughter. Our bodies love life and want us to love life. They are happy when we are happy. They help us to fulfill our dreams, achieve success and fill our lives with happiness. If we become ill, it’s not a reason to stop loving our bodies or deny ourselves the joy of life. Just as we love our dearest friends, no matter how they look, or how they feel, healthy or ill, we can love our bodies in sickness as well. Everybody is beautiful and precious. Whether slim, round, tall, short, young, old, healthy or unhealthy, it is important that we remember that. Blossoming: When we treat our body in a caring, loving way, it will gain only as much weight as it is natural for its life cycles, it will stay in good shape, and it will age in a graceful, natural way. What we think - we become.

Omtimes.com

According to our perception, our gene activity can significantly change. However, the most effective way to mold our body to our needs is to change our subconscious beliefs. Our subconscious overrides what we consciously think of ourselves. Therefore it is so important to get down to the bottom of our subconscious programming. For centuries, successful and influential people have been using tools that have brought them extraordinary results. Using effective subconscious programming, many ordinary people have turned illness into health, failure into success, unhappiness into the joy of living. To enjoy and love our naturally beautiful and healthy bodies, we need to change our subconscious beliefs about ourselves. FIRST: It is important to accept and love the body just the way it is. It believes what we say. If we treat it with resentment or even with hate, it will believe that it is not good enough, not Omtimes.com

beautiful enough, not young or healthy enough. It becomes sluggish, unhappy, overweight or too skinny, it ages too quickly or develops various illnesses. Whatever we say to our body becomes its reality and in return our reality. Yes, that is exactly how it works. When we treat the body with love, we are repaid with love. We become healthier and more fit. It will even change its shape naturally and healthily. SECOND: It is important to treat the body as our best friend. When we offer it gifts, such as vitamins, natural supplements, healthy, nourishing food, fresh air, proper exercise, clothes or jewelry that we find attractive, anything that makes us happy, then it will thrive and glow with happiness. While Feeling attractive and beautiful, our body naturally becomes attractive and beautiful. To let the body fully blossom, we need to rejoice in the simple pleasures of life. All of nature expresses its joy of living, one way or another. When we observe nature, we notice how playful birds and animals

are, how vegetation is thriving. Rekindling our joy helps our bodies to become healthier, stronger, happier and thriving. We can trust our body’s inner wisdom. When we learn to love the body during all its natural cycles, it will never become seriously ill, out of shape, too skinny or too fat. All our body wants is that we treat it with love and respect. How the Heart-Centered Can Deal With Narcissism by Leigh Burton The Heart-centered people have exceptional difficulty dealing with a narcissistic personality. That’s because it’s hard to understand the mindset of a person that isn’t coming from a space that is their

Omtimes.com

heart, and our instinct is very clear about the matter. We know if a person is all about themselves. There are plenty of people, public figure or not, that we can identify with as having a notably egotistical personality. We might need to consider though the possibility that this person is well guarded and choosing not to show emotion for the purpose of providing a strong presence. We don’t know what that person is like in a personal setting. But if they are lacking the ability to have an emotional reaction, it is more likely that they have sociopathic tendencies. What of those that we might have a closer connection to, someone that we might work with, a friend, or even a family member? How are we supposed to deal with that in a way that is conducive to our ability to live in an open-hearted space, while protecting ourselves from the clutches of this type of person? Understanding narcissism is a good start. Someone with

this particular personality disorder can be at one of many different levels that range from some narcissistic traits to the extreme that makes it evident that they are suffering. Narcissistic traits are acquired as a result of a mood disorder that was left unmanaged. The mood disorder is developed as a result of being traumatized and will present as chronic sadness or depression. Most often it is a result of how a person grew up, although that isn’t to say that it can’t have happened later in life. A person feels forced to become rebellious or adopt a continuous stream of anger, which explains how we can see the extreme difference from one person to another. However, this doesn’t happen right away. As a result of love existing with conditions, being devalued, or adopting a sense of worthlessness, a person will go through negotiating their feelings, and once they realize that it is too painful, they move into a space that doesn’t allow for any further negotiation. It becomes all about protecting

Omtimes.com

themselves. A narcissistic person can present in many ways. From a “Go Getter” that absolutely will not let anything get in their way and is a high achiever, to a person who is volatile and can become angry very quickly. Knowing more about what causes this prevalent personality disorder can allow some degree of empathy. However, that’s not to say that we should let ourselves suffer as a result. To engage a narcissistic person, regardless of whether or not they appear confident and full of life, can lead to an outcome that is far less than what we desire because of their need to serve themselves at all cost. They are not going to consider others first. So, it’s important to have boundaries that we are willing to enforce. Those boundaries are what will protect us from harm, and if those boundaries are crossed, there must be a consequence. We don’t have to be afraid of narcissism, but we do have to care for our space. Stepping up and enforcing our boundaries can be difficult, but the

Omtimes.com

potential results of not doing so can be extremely motivating. Narcissism is about taking, not receiving. What we are willing to give from the space that is our heart is valuable and should be respected that way. Having it taken from us can leave feelings of shame, fear, and anger. All of which is not conducive to how we want to live, and as a result can cascade to all areas of our lives. To protect that we need to recognize what our core values are and stand by them. Remember that we don’t have to engage a person just because they crossed our path. There is nothing wrong with saying “This is not good for me.” Keeping our personal space open to what is good for us will always fuel the better good. Mood Shifting For The Courageous by Crystal Presence

Acknowledging that in times of change we stir up different moods. What if we knew that the relationship with our moods and emotions is one of the most powerful things we

Omtimes.com

can do to shape the changes we want in our world? Tips on embracing our moods and emotions as a path to fill our lives with ease and wellbeing. In times of change, we find ourselves heading into the unknown. We know we have to let go of how it has been and wonder how to make to a shift out of the old continuity. We do our best to be courageous in changing our perspectives and coming up with new ideas for taking action. It also takes embracing the moods and emotions that get stirred up inside. Unfortunately, we are faced with the constrictive cultural standards of how we are expected to respond. What if we knew that the relationship with our emotions is one of the most powerful things we can do to shape what we want our world? What if we bring forth a new context of living where emotions are embraced and responded to as a path to wellness? Research has shown that

the more we understand and embrace our emotions the more our lives will be filled with ease and wellbeing. Think about it. When someone says the word “feelings” what comes to mind? What is your initial response? Do any of these sound familiar? Oh no, I can’t feel this right now! I better put these emotions on hold, or I will make a fool of myself. I have to get rid of this mood, or I will ruin my chance of getting what I want. Emotions are e-motions, energy in motion that alerts and guide us with different vibrational frequencies. If our energy feels dissonant, our emotions alert us to make a change. If our energy feels harmonious, our emotions are letting us know that we are on track. Our emotions also give us access to all the wonderful feelings of love, happiness, and joy which

empower us to have the lives we want.

are finished, ending in tears of relief and joy.

Three core emotions affect our moods…

Emotions support us in making a change at point easy. When we let our emotions move and vibrate without judgment we free our internal guidance system to guide us to safety and experiences we are wanting.

Anger that alerts us that we want a change. If we try to hold our anger back, we begin the process of recirculating the energy inside. We turn the anger inward on ourselves and push it out others. It turns into the resentment which often leads to illness, rage and sudden outbursts of violence and war. Fear that alerts us to stop look and listen and take whatever action feels good to us when we are ready. Sadness that helps us complete our experiences, as in losing something or someone. It is also a healthy part of making transitions in our lives. Crying supports us neurologically in washing away the past and getting present with what is happening now. Crying releases a hormone that makes us feel good when we

Omtimes.com

Like any skill, we need to practice. What if we practice how to use our emotions to bring forth a new context of living? Instead of lashing out when we are mad, going into self-pity and holding back in fear we can choose to breathe, vibrate and to be present while we do the following… Step aside to safely express the anger. Take time to think, feel and take beneficial action on the change we are wanting. Stop, look and listen. Proceed when we are ready. Cry with the intent to move the energy. Let it move

through our bodies and lift ourselves up. A simple process to remind us how to shift an uncomfortable mood we are in… Take a deep breath and hold it while tightening up our bodies. Keep holding the breath as we tighten our muscles. Holding it tight for as long as we can. Slowly let the breath out and continue with shallow breathing. How is constricting of our circulation affecting us? How empowered does it make us feel? Then shake, shake, shake it out! Vibrate and let your energy move while making space for change to happen! Relax and change any beliefs or perspectives that have been holding you back. Much of the suffering and powerlessness in the world reflects back to us in the same way. We are cutting off our own power! The best remedy for this is acknowledging and admitting that this is what we are doing. We all knew how to do this when we

were babies. Watch any baby. When things are not feeling good, they move their bodies, cry, scream and let their emotions move through them. Then they relax, give a sigh of relief and get a big smile on their face! What is meant by ‘Separativness? The Tibetan Master, Djwhal Kuhl wrote Esoteric Healing1 and many other books through His amanuensis, Alice A. Bailey,

Omtimes.com

using mental telepathy. This is His picture. On page 82 of Esoteric Healing he said: “If you were to ask me what, in reality, lies behind all disease, all frustrations, error and lack of divine expression....I would say it was separativeness, which produces the major difficulties arising in the etheric body, plus the inability of the outer tangible form to respond adequately to the inner and subtler impulses.” The etheric body is a web of energy streams, of lines of force and of light. Its main objective is to vitalize and energize the physical body and thus INTEGRATE it into the energy body of the Earth and of the solar system. It is an integral part of the etheric body of the planetary Deity (Logos) and is therefore, related to all forms found within that body in any and all the kingdoms in nature. It is part of the substance of the universe, coordinated with planetary

substance, and hence provides the scientific basis for unity.2 In the book “Light on the Path”3, the Master Hilarion says: “Kill out all sense of separateness. Do not fancy you can stand aside from the bad man. He is yourself, though in a less degree than your friend or your Master. But if you allow the idea of separateness from any evil thing or person to grow up within you, by doing so you create karma which will bind you to that thing or person till your soul recognizes that it cannot be isolated. Remember that the sin and shame of the world are your sin and shame, for you are part of it.” In past lives we have done things that were against the laws of the Cosmos. All are destined to develop spiritually and to return to their Source Science is catching up to the Ageless Wisdom teachings,

Omtimes.com

which proceeds from the Masters of the spiritual Hierarchy. Dr. Ervin Laszlo, in his book Science and the Akashic Field: An Integral Theory of Everything posits that “the universe, with all things in it, is a quasi-living, and a coherent whole. All things in it are connected. 2a The first Postulate of Ageless Wisdom Teachings is that there is one Boundless, Immutable Principle; one Absolute Reality which antecedes all manifested conditioned Being. It is beyond the range and reach of any human thought or expression.3 By separativeness the masters mean that we do not realize that all life and energy is connected. That all souls are connected and are identical with the Oversoul. That this relationship between all souls and the Oversoul constitutes the basis for the scientific belief in Brotherhood. BROTHERHOOD is a fact in

Omtimes.com

nature, not an ideal.3a The ancient Greeks, such as Pythagoras believed, and the Ageless Wisdom teaches that there is ONE LIFE. That Deity is within every atom. That atoms are the concrete manifestation of the Universal Energy. That invisible lives compose the atoms, and all creation.4 That every life, including a human being, is in fact a fragment of the UNIVERSAL MIND, or WORLD SOUL.5 They called every mathematical point in space a Monad6, a potential god, a consciousness center. It is indivisible. It is the life of the atom; while the atom itself is very divisible. In fact, every atom is doomed to incessant differentiation.7 It is these invisible lives of the Universal Energy that form the energies of the universe. All lives are of varying degrees of consciousnesses and qualities. Their names are numberless. It is the consciousness and the rate of vibration of the life that determines its point

of development. Each life has its mission and work to perform. Just as in the body of a human being, each cell is part of a greater cell and/or organ and has its mission to perform. There are rivers of lives in the universe, that act as the blood stream does, in a human body. The Universe is a Living Organism. Paracelsus called the elemental lives that compose the air: Sylphs; the fire spirits, he called salamanders; the water, he called undines and those of the earth he called gnomes. The Agnichaitans are a higher grade of fire spirit, who form a vortex of fire when viewed on a large scale, such as in volcanoes and large destructive burnings. They are closely allied to a still more important group of devas (angels) who form the fiery envelope of the sun. The pranic elementals, are those minute fiery essences who have the ability to permeate the texture of the human body, of a tree, or

Omtimes.com

of all that may be found in the human, vegetable and animal kingdoms, and who blend with the fires of the microcosmic stems. 8 In the future as we evolve and become controlled by our soul, instead of our personality, we will be able to control these elemental lives using the proper mantrams and sounds. Each of these elemental lives has as its goal to become a human being.9 All atoms, whether mineral, human, planetary, solar or galactic are in the process of BECOMING. The goal of a human being is to BECOME a god. The goal of a Lord of a solar system is to become a greater God. The sum total of the lives that make up a form or a vehicle, or a body, is an en tity, a life. The entity of the dense physical body of the Earth, has no emotion, no mind, but it is latent within it. In the next solar cycle, when the Lord of the solar system reembodies

Omtimes.com

Itself, (reincarnates) this entity will continue with its development, as will every other entity. Perhaps, it might become an ETHERIC body of a planet. To the extent that we realize that there really is NO SEPARATION, that all Life is connected, that all Souls are connected, that we are part of the One Life; then to that extent, we may experience relative harmony, goodwill and brotherhood on Earth. When we harm another, (whether in thought or deed) we harm ourselves. When we bless and help another, we are blessing and helping ourselves and our brother. All Lives that form the energies of the universe, are fragments or sparks of the Universal Mind of God. Science resists the use of the word “god. They reject its orthodox meaning; and they are correct in that regard. In the near future, all of this will change as they come to realize the Boundless,

inconceivable Principle; as Space is Boundless. It is without beginning, without end and without form. ∆∆∆ Marguerite dar Boggia is the former Secretary, Membership Secretary and Director for ISAR, the International Society for Astrological Research. Swami's State of the Universe 2019 Heartland Security -- A 2020 Vision By Steve Bhaerman

"If you don't like the current programming, turn off your TV and tell-a-vision instead." -- Swami Beyondananda

Greetings, Mirthlings. Welcome to the annual State of the Universe address, and the state of the Universe this year, like every year, is everchanging, same as always.

April A 2019 Edition

Meanwhile, on our teeny tiny planet -- known across the galaxies as Comedy Central -- the shift has hit the fan. They say crisis precipitates evolution, and judging by the multiple crises we face -- ecological, economical, political and personal -- the chances of precipitation are 100%. Yet no matter how dire things may appear, I remain, as far as mystics go, a "cautious optimystic." Though the pessimystics may look at the "shituation" and see a glass 95% empty, not me. I see a glass 5% full. As for the future, I've been to them all. Don't forget, I was a futurist in a past life. As far as I can foresee, we have a bright future ahead of us. Now all we have to do is figure out how to get to THAT future instead of the blight future we seem to be hurtling toward. Yes, our entire species is in the midst of an existential crisis. We must decide if want to continue to exist any longer. Humanity -- and its wicked stepchild, inhumanity -- has zoomed to the top of the Endangering Species List by being so obsessed with income that we've failed to consider the outcome: If we lose the Earth, there goes the GDP. To avoid dealing with this inconvenient truth, we have made ourselves susceptible to convenient lies. The body politic has become strung out on two dangerous drugs, Hopium and Deniatol, while the media assaults us daily with weapons of mass-distraction. The two sides attack each other left and right with detestimonials and insinuendoes, so we spend all our time mass-debating instead of creating a healthy brainchild together. Talk about mass-debating making us go blind! While global warming is cooking our goose, all attention has been fixated on Donald Trump, and when it comes to garnering attention, he is in a crass of his own. The way he's been pumping ironies, comedians can't keep up. Our Balloon Karma Payment Sure, it's easy to say that not only has Trump proven anyone can grow up to be President, he's proven you don't even HAVE TO grow up to become President. It's easy to protest, "How can anyone say he is not acting like an adult? He has committed COUNTLESS adulterous acts." It's easy to comment that Donald Trump has been heralded as an outlier and it's true ... in just two years, he has already out-lied all the other Presidents combined. omtimes.com

April A 2019 Edition

And it's easy to celebrate him as America's most honest politician -because unlike all the others, he TELLS you he is lying. I prefer seeing him as America's "balloon karma payment" that is putting the dark of heartlessness in our face, so that we finally face what we have been unwilling to face -- 5,000 years of rule by the lowest common dominator, and the rule of gold: Doo-doo unto others before they can doo-doo unto you. I see Donald Trump as Public Enema Number One because he is helping the purge the mountains of bullshit and release the residoodoo. This is the biggest toxic dump we will be taking since the original thirteen colonics. It has been said that the truth shall upset you free, and indeed the veil is being lifted on the dark and secret perpetrations of the deep state. Some claim that Trump will save us from the deep state, but in these evolving times, it makes no sense to replace covert skullduggery with overt scumbaggery. The only way to overgrow the deep state is by cultivating a deeper state, and the way to overcome fake news is through a higher truth movement. And that higher truth? We are all cells in the same body politic, and that instead of fighting one another in a deadly autoimmune disease, we must bring left and right front and center to face the music and dance together.

A New Tell-A-Vision Program -Heartland Security To be blunt, the mainstream media is a brainwashing machine stuck on spin. Fortunately, there is an alternative. If we don't like the current programming, we can choose to turn off the TV and tell a vision instead. That's where I tell a vision to you, and you tell a vision to me, and we have healing and functional visions to step into. And that beats what we've been stepping into. Shortly after the 911 attacks, feargnomes -- little gnomes of gnawing fear -- were released into the mainstream, making the body politic susceptible to a whole slew of diseases -- irony deficiency ... truth decay ... electile dysfunction ... deficit inattention disorder ... and of course, Mad Cowboy Disease. And what emerged was the fear-based Department of Homeland Security. And now, as part of the Great Upwising, we need to create a love-based Department of Heartland Security -- because our true security is in the land of the heart. The Bible says, where there is no vision the people perish. Unfortunately the mainstream media starves our visionaries and feeds the DIVISIONARIES. The current two parties offer us a dubious choice: positive change in very small increments, or negative change in very large excrements. That is why it is up to a critical mass of the heretofore uncritical

masses to withdraw attention from the "identity issues" that divide us and focus on the IDENTICAL ISSUES we all face: clean air, clean water, clean food, clean government. It's time to stop out-venting against one another, and start inventing together. So let us come together and tell-a-vision for Heartland Security. I will start.

Imagine ... think tanks where they think about something other than tanks, and young people get to live for their country instead of dying for it.

Imagine ... government of, by and for the people, where the government does the PEOPLE'S bidding, not the bidding of the highest bidder.

Imagine ... achieving TRUE

minority rights, where each of us has the inalienable right to be ourselves, an indivisible minority of one, each of us one-of-a-kind, just like everyone else.

Imagine ... political partisans on all sides TAKING UP ARMS ... to hug one another.

Imagine ... we the people coming to a commonly-sensed, uncommonly sensible consensus -we would rather live by the Golden Rule than die by the rule of gold.

Yes, yes. I know what you're thinking. The Swami is proposing a sane world. He must be CRAZY. So I invite you to commit yourself to creating a sane asylum where we make fake news irrelevant by

creating some REAL NEWS together. Who needs reality TV when we have REALITY? This is the movie we've all been waiting for, the thriller of a lifetime, the ultimate hero's journey, where our entire species is starring in the hero's role. So here is the question: Can we undo the doo-doo that has been done, or will the done doo-doo be our undoing? To quote the great philosopher and centerfielder Willie Mays, "That's what we're playing the game to find out." Ready to join the upwising? Let's go for heaven on earth, and have a hell of a time doing it.
