The Ketogenic Cure: Interview with Kristin Grayce McGary OMTIMES: Who is Kristin Grayce McGary and what does she do? Kristin Grayce McGary: I’m a holistic healthcare practitioner but better known as a health and lifestyle alchemist. I am passionate about empowering people to heal on all levels. I’m a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist,

Omtimes.com

certified in functional medicine, advanced craniosacral therapy, somatoemotional release, neural and perineural therapy, and homeopathy and so much more. I offer patients the opportunity to see and understand what’s happening inside their bodies through functional blood chemistry analysis, so they can become informed consumers of their healthcare. I bridge the gap between the Western medical model, Asian medicine, Functional healthcare and the mind, body, spirit connection so that lasting transformation occurs. I am called to participate in the alleviation of suffering on our planet through sharing my skills and gifts. OMTIMES: You are renowned for helping people who are suffering from troublesome symptoms—and longterm debilitating health conditions—find relief and live a vibrant life. Please tell us about that. Kristin Grayce McGary: I help people identify the

causes, get to the root of symptoms and imbalances that few others can find. I help them transform those symptoms into vitality and freedom. I do this by individualizing each session and honoring the wholeness of each person. I help them shine a light on their unconscious patterns of imbalances, strategies of protection, and self-sabotage to release the blocks to lasting vibrant health. I educate and empower patients with their nutrition and lifestyle choices, so they can truly thrive. I uniquely combine dozens of healing tools that I’ve mastered over the last 21 years, to peel off the layers of illness and dysfunction so their beautiful light can shine brightly. I guide people on a unique journey of self-discovery and lasting transformation, so they can fulfill their purpose and passion on the planet. OMTIMES: What is Functional Blood Chemistry Analysis and how do you use it in your work?

Omtimes.com

Kristin Grayce McGary: Blood chemistry analysis is an effective and efficient tool for identifying imbalances

in the body-metabolism. Unfortunately, few Westerntrained MDs and NMDs are versed in Functional Blood Chemistry Analysis (FBCA), nor do they know how to order comprehensive panels, since they are overly constrained by what health insurance will cover. I offer this to my patients as a way to empower them to understand what’s happening on the inside of their body. It takes the guesswork out of healthcare, nutrition,

Omtimes.com

and lifestyle because it can inform appropriate action and change in a person’s health and life. Conventional reference ranges on a regular lab are compiled from a population of mostly sick people, so falling within normal ranges means, you’re average compared to sick people, which is not entirely useful as an indicator of health. Functional reference ranges are compiled from a population of healthy people, so results inside or outside of functional normal range are more meaningful. Functional lab results help me find imbalances years before a patient develops symptoms, exhibits signs of tissue damage, or a diagnosable disease. FBCA is a powerful tool for prevention. OMTIMES: You are writing a book entitled The Ketogenic Cure. Can you tell us about that and what the reader of it will learn? Kristin Grayce McGary: The information in my book is cutting-edge for halting,

healing, and preventing autoimmune challenges. It explains the importance of gut health, why we all have gut damage, and how to repair it through a ketogenic gut-repair nutritional program, which is entirely different from a standard ketogenic diet. I offer supplements that help heal the gut and modulate immune function. I also explain the Asian medical view of the intestine, how the gut has feelings too, and I offer contemplative exercises around nutrition, food as medicine, and even how to eat. I explain the importance of the enteric nervous system and discuss the research about the gut as the second brain. I write about functional testing, food sensitivity testing, predictive antibody testing, etc. At the end of the book, I offer transitional recipes for people moving away from carbohydrates to a more Paleo, Primal or Ketogenic plan as well as Ketogenic gut repair recipes and desserts. Just about everyone can

benefit from a ketogenic gut repair nutritional plan. It improves brain function, balances blood sugar, supports a healthy metabolism, decreases inflammation, turns off sick genes, repairs the gut, and combats autoimmune issues. I understand everyone is an individual and that genetics only play a small part in our health because genes can be turned on and off through nutrition, lifestyle, and environmental factors. This book explains this and so much more. OMTIMES: Many of our readers suffer from autoimmune conditions and diseases. What is your advice for them? Kristin Grayce McGary: Don’t give up. It takes courage to continue on this healing path. If you think you’ve tried everything and done it all, I promise you that there is more. I firmly believe your body can fully heal. Become an informed consumer of your healthcare, stand in your power, even

Omtimes.com

if you feel emotionally or physically tired. Take simple steps like getting the right kind of support. Find a healthcare provider who approaches you as a whole person, not someone broken. Someone who individualizes treatments rather than following a standard protocol or printout from a computer. It’s important to know that autoimmune issues appear in multiples. If you have one,

Omtimes.com

you will likely get two, three, or more. There is a predictive antibody test through Cyrex Labs that can identify targeted tissue before you have a full-blown disease. The test can guide your healthcare provider in protecting those tissues and halting the attack. Autoimmune issues invariably lead back to the gut, so take your time to repair the gut which means addressing food sensitives, lifestyle, stress, emotions locked in your body known as cell memory, unconscious patterns of protection, and the eight blocks to healing. It’s important to take a very comprehensive and individualized approach. I like to support people to find their edges in their health, relationships, and life, and lean into them to discover real gems for their healing. OMTIMES: One of the populations you work with is people with food sensitivities. How do you help them? Kristin Grayce McGary: I help people identify immune

dysfunction and then empower them to regulate their immune systems. Food sensitivity is a symptom of immune dysfunction, as are autoimmune issues, allergies, cancer, etc. The gut is always involved because approximately 70% of immune function originates in the intestines. By healing the gut, many food sensitivities vanish. Avoiding gluten, dairy, other foods that cross-react to gluten, corn, soy, lectins, sugar, and processed foods can help, but sometimes it’s not enough. I also look for the emotional and spiritual aspects of food and environmental sensitivities and deal with the unconscious patterns that cause these reactions. I believe in a very holistic and comprehensive approach. OMTIMES: You also practice death midwifery. What is that, and how does it work? Kristin Grayce McGary: Just as a birth midwife helps babies enter life, a death midwife can help someone exit this world. I can help

someone with a terminal illness to transition with more peace, ease, and dignity. I empower the family to move through the dying process with love, acceptance, and peace. In our current culture, death is viewed as something bad or scary. However, it is an integral part of life. I’m not afraid of talking about death; I see it as a holy sacrament. I want to help people embrace their death with courage, peace, and ease. The fact is we are all going to die, so let’s get that on the table. There are ways to die with dignity, with conscious awareness that brings incredible healing to the individual and their family. What I offer is not hospice, although at times I work alongside hospice nurses. Depending on the state in which you live, laws exist that allow you to care for your family member after death, at home, and even make their casket. Our societal habit is that when someone dies they are quickly removed, and everyone averts their eyes, but this shows an unhealthy imbalanced relationship with

Omtimes.com

death. Rather than having them removed and embalmed immediately; one practice is to keep the body on dryice for three days, so family and friends can hold a vigil in their honor. This practice allows people to grieve completely. It also allows the person’s spirit to pass over gracefully. If we can work with death in a more profound way, then we can grieve and heal quicker. There are many supportive practices for working with someone and their family during the dying process. I advocate and empower people to find what works best for them and their families. OMTIMES: One of your specialties is empowering people around autoimmune health challenges especially the thyroid. Can you tell us what are some of the keys to healing the thyroid? Kristin Grayce McGary: I love the thyroid! I suffered from Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis which was first undiagnosed

Omtimes.com

and then misdiagnosed by several doctors. I struggled for years to find out what were the causes of my challenges. When I discovered I had an autoimmune condition and the root of it, then I could appropriately address all the variables and heal. Knowing what is happening with your thyroid, pituitary, and the production and conversion of thyroid hormones are essential to get to the root of the issue. A full thyroid panel has ten markers, including two antibody counts. Finding someone to order a full thyroid panel, and then correctly interpret it can be a real challenge, and it is vitally important! Please find someone skilled in thyroid and functional blood chemistry analysis. The thyroid is such a powerful and beautiful gland. We would have difficulty functioning without the life-giving hormones and precursors it makes. They even influence gene expression. So, knowing what lab tests to order and

how to interpret them is vital. Everyone has a thyroid, but not every thyroid needs the same thing. Avoiding fluoride in toothpaste and water, chlorine in water, toxic chemicals in your environment and especially in the body- and skin-care products and avoiding inflammatory foods such as gluten and dairy can all make a huge difference. It is essential to address stress and support the hypothalamuspituitary-adrenal axis. Listen to your body: if it feels off, it likely is. I encourage you to get support to solve the puzzle, so you can return to vibrant health. Thyroid can be complicated, so be patient. OMTIMES: What’s next for Kristin Grayce?

Kristin Grayce McGary: I’m leading a luxury transformational women’s retreat this autumn at Synergida, a gorgeous retreat center on 114 acres in the pristine Costa Rican jungle. The retreat is all-inclusive

and runs a full five days, from October 28-November 3, 2018. It is called Reset*Reconnect*Revitalize and is for women of influence who are overwhelmed and wish to reconnect to the fullness of their vitality, inspiration, and power with which they have lost touch. Each day in the beautiful sanctuary is carefully designed with a balance of guided playful exploration, relaxation, and rejuvenation. Your senses will be tantalized as you experience a complete waterfall rebirthing, sacred cacao meditations, detoxifying jungle mud baths, and luscious fruits from the orchard. You will flow in connection with the elements around you and be taken on unique journeys of release, surrender, and self-discovery. You will frolic in the refreshing rivers and eat master-chef prepared nourishing meals and scrumptious healthful desserts that will leave you blissfully satiated, both physically and emotionally.

Understanding the Different Types of Fats Fat is good, and the body needs fat. Fats are made up of the building blocks called fatty acids. Each gram of fat allows the body about 9 calories.

Omtimes.com

This is more than twice that supplied by proteins or carbohydrates. In our childhood, fat is necessary for healthy brain development. As adults, fat is the most

energy-efficient and therefore, the most concentrated form in our bodies. There are different types of fatty acids, which include: saturated, polyunsaturated, and monounsaturated fats. Saturated fats are found in beef, veal, lamb, pork, and ham, dairy products such as whole milk, cream, and cheese and artificially hydrogenated vegetable oils such as coconut oil, palm kernel oil, and vegetable shortening. The more substantial the product, the higher the percentage of saturated fats. Our body uses saturated fats to produce cholesterol. Studies show that a diet high in saturated fats is known to promote coronary artery disease and excessive amounts of saturated fats can significantly raise the blood cholesterol level, including low-density lipoproteins (LDL), or “bad cholesterol.” Polyunsaturated fats include omega-3 fats, are found in mackerel, salmon, and tuna and other deep-sea fish, as well as omega-6 fats, contained in vegetable

oils such as corn, soybean, safflower, and sunflower oils. Polyunsaturated fats may actually lower total blood cholesterol levels. Yet, large amounts of polyunsaturated fats also can reduce your highdensity lipoproteins (HDL), or “good cholesterol.” Trans-fatty acids, also called trans fats, may also play a role in blood cholesterol levels. Tans fats occur when polyunsaturated oils are hydrogenated, which is a process used to harden liquid vegetable oils into solid foods like margarine and shortening. Trans fats are also found in prepared foods, such as cookies, crackers, doughnuts, french fries, and other fried foods. Monounsaturated fats are found in olive oil and nut oils such as peanut, and canola oils. These fats have been shown to reduce blood levels of LDL without affecting HDL cholesterol. Functional Blood Chemistry Analysis Prevention Superhero It’s your annual medical exam. You know the routine. You spend 5-10 minutes with your doctor or nurse practitioner/physician’s assistant. They weigh you. Measure your blood pressure and body temperature. And, if you’re lucky, they order a lab panel for 10-30 blood markers.

Omtimes.com

That’s the most your insurance will cover. And it is not enough to accurately assess your health. I recommend a comprehensive lab panel of 68+ markers. That is the only way a medical practitioner can see what is happening inside your body and can evaluate how your current nutrition and lifestyle impact you. In my experience, the panel most doctors offer has too many gaps. A comprehensive panel illuminates the blind spots and assists in making healthcare choices that support a long and happy life. I believe Functional Blood Chemistry Analysis is the superhero of preventative health care. Primarily the focus of Western medicine is remedial sick care, not prevention. Blood work is one of the most powerful diagnostic tools in medicine. It detects disease and reveals warning signs that help to prevent illnesses from developing. Elevated markers indicate potential problems and avoid damage to body

tissues and organs long before symptoms appear. Western doctors, MDs, and Naturopaths, train (and are constrained by insurance companies) to order simple panels with few markers, and to use them to guide simple interventions rather than for prevention.

Three factors make functional blood chemistry analysis superior to the conventional study: the number of markers, the reference ranges, and interconnections among the results. Functional blood panels typically measure 2-6 times more markers. When I assess a patient’s health, I request a baseline laboratory panel of 68 markers plus urinalysis which yields 5 or 6 full pages Omtimes.com

of results. That level of detail is typically unavailable from your general practitioner or Naturopath’s office. Each marker has a statisticallycompiled range of values that are considered normal, called the reference range.

The compilation of conventional reference ranges is from a vast population of people, many of whom had their blood analyzed because they were already sick. Functional reference ranges, on the other hand, are compiled from a smaller population of Omtimes.com

healthy people whose bodies are functioning optimally. The reference ranges in a functional panel are tighter than conventional ones. So during an assessment, those markers that fall within the closer functional range compare favorably with healthy people. They receive a green flag. Markers falling outside the more extensive conventional range compare poorly with sick people and receive red flags. Those markers that fall in between those ranges are yellow flagged and considered neither healthy nor ill‌yet. Medical practitioners using conventional analysis notice red flags but and largely ignores the rest. Functional analysis is on the lookout not only for red flags but also for yellow flags. Those yellow flags are early warning signs of potential illness. You cannot see it or feel symptoms yet, but you are now aware of it and can do something about it. Now that is a superpower! The conventional bloodwork analysis considers markers in isolation. Your medical practitioner prescribes

pharmaceuticals to address just that marker. (For example, statin drugs to reduce elevated cholesterol). Alternatively, functional blood chemistry analysis recognizes multiple causes for an elevated marker and looks for patterns among the other markers to more accurately discern causes. Functional blood chemistry analysis saved my life. I was sick with multiple debilitating symptoms many of which were preventable. I went undiagnosed or misdiagnosed for years. Eventually, I found a medical practitioner skilled in ordering and interpreting a functional blood chemistry panel. I learned the root of my symptoms, and with that knowledge, I took an accurate and individualized approach to my healing. I’m passionate about preventing others from suffering. I want to empower you with the knowledge you deserve so that you can make informed choices about your health, nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle that can dramatically improve your life. In one-year, functional blood chemistry analysis saved the

lives of two of my patients. Both had the potentially lifethreatening blood disorder called hemochromatosis, or “iron overload.” If left untreated it causes organ damage, failure, and death. Their doctors never tested a full iron panel. So the condition went undiagnosed. By reviewing their comprehensive blood panel, I identified their iron overload. Another of my patients had his standard annual-checkup and blood test at the VA. His doctor told him everything looked great, and that he was in perfect health. He didn’t feel great and brought his panel to me. Despite having only 11 markers, I could still see essential details the doctor missed. His cholesterol was abnormally low due to overmedication with a statin drug. Several other markers indicated insulin resistance and pre-diabetes. Moreover, he had symptoms of pre-diabetes that no one had ever brought to his attention! Reading lab markers holistically, i.e., looking for patterns in combinations of makers and functionally, i.e., noting markers with yellow Omtimes.com

flags reveals the actual state of our health. Armed with this knowledge, he made nutritional and lifestyle shifts which meant he avoided dependency on diabetes and cholesterol medications and their unwanted side effects. I have seen patients prescribed thyroid medications based on few thyroid markers typically TSH and sometimes one or more of T3/T4/free T4. Not enough. The full thyroid panel I prefer has ten markers, including two for antibodies. How can a physician prescribe a medication without thoroughly investigating the functioning of the gland or organ for which that medication is meant to treat? The standard of care, to which MDs and NMDs in the western world are bound, states that if Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) is high, they must prescribe a T4 hormone. And that’s usually a synthetic product such as Synthroid. In my opinion, this approach is one-size-fits-all symptom treatment. A full thyroid panel interpreted functionally can sort through the many reasons why TSH might be out of Omtimes.com

range. Once we find the cause we can restore balance to the body’s systems and the patient can feel amazing! A simple blood test is insufficient. Doctors order bloodwork only when you are already sick. Generally, those panels are incomplete, and they interpret the markers in isolation according to reference ranges compiled from populations of primarily ill people, without considering your unique history, nutrition, and lifestyle. Often your bloodwork is processed by software. You receive a colorfilled report but no personal consultation. Functional blood chemistry analysis is a powerful prevention tool that you deserve. "Real Spiritual Love " ASCENDIGHEARTS.COM

Simply Spiritual To perceive reality from a different perspective is to open oneself to the wonders and unlimited wealth of creation. Simply Spiritual offers the opportunity to visit new places, new methods, and different ways to perceive the vast human knowledge of our Universe.

Awakening Our Hidden Natures

We are advanced entities already and can realize our higher natures while performing the simple ordinary tasks our daily routines require. We need not spend time meditating for long hours, we can Omtimes.com

accomplish the same result at work, at home, anywhere, when we learn to discipline ourselves. Results, although perhaps many years ahead, will come. We do not need to set apart meditation time to make an effort to awaken in the present moment. We in the modern world are advanced souls, and we need only reawaken our hidden higher natures. Ancient Buddhist and other methods of meditation can be helpful, yet those of us having an elementary inherent understanding of our nature and purpose can forge ahead, using logical methods for the task. Known as “the no method, method” by Buddhists, a discipline Mahayana Buddhists call “silent illumination” is a perfectly natural way of exploring the nature of reality in everyday life. We essentially use no method, we just go about in our daily routines focusing the mind on the whole of

what is before us via all of the five physical senses that we see, hear and feel at any given moment: sight, sound, touch, smell, taste. We do not judge, we perceive without discrimination. Objects are not as the world defines, they are as the mind perceives, all notions of the labels placed on them dropped. A rose is not a rose, nor is it red. It is beyond description, something of which has qualities: shape, color, smell, all these things, yet not red or pink or white. The rose is not a rose at all, it merely exists in the form we perceive it and is beyond color. We experience what we call color, but we do not consider it as “color.” Rose, grass, sky, all, are things we perceive, none has an identity, all are attributes mind experiences.

Learning to Awaken Using Everyday Life We can begin with this way of perception when we are alone without having any

Omtimes.com

needed task to accomplish, and we make such focus when we are walking. We need not be in a park on a trail, we can do it while walking to the coffee room at work. We can keep our focus while pouring our coffee and tea, and again walk back to our desk or work area. Depending on our occupation, we can continue such focus if our job does not require concentration on a particular mental task. When it does, our method becomes problematic. We cannot focus on particular elements like math or lists or designing and keep our focus on the present surrounding us, not at first. It is difficult. We can, however, return to our focus on present moment awareness at our next break, or moment of rest. This is enough. Our inability to focus right on our physical tasks demonstrates that we have work to do, yet we have all the time the world gives us for practice.

Practicing Spiritual Optimism By Judi Lynch

The Earth needs our Spiritual Optimism now to create the energy to heal it. If we know right and wrong in our humanity, if it is possible to become part of the human mind to inherit not to hurt

Omtimes.com

another living being, then let that optimism be our goal. Have you ever known someone who, no matter what you say, continues to respond negatively to your suggestions after asking you for advice? Even if it appears they are destined to complain for a lifetime, remember that your words may just take more time to sink in. You might hear later, “I thought about what you said. Also, there is more than just one answer to a life challenge, and the solution depends on the person along with the unique circumstances they are facing. We as humans operate on different levels of understanding. It’s not a judgment of good or better but of vibration, soul level, and maturity. We are on this Earth in a giant classroom filled with every ridiculous mixture of blood, bones, and

consciousness through zillions of lifetimes spinning along in our own little universe. How do we stay optimistic when there is a divide, unrest, and hatred all around us? Energy is something we can take responsibility for. Optimism creates an energy of hope and manifestation. If we want to manifest success and true ability to assist others in raising their vibration, it is imperative that we learn to control our energy fields. If we are still bitter, unforgiving, judgmental or seeking revenge, we will create a very shaky ground in which to walk our talk of living in loving spirit. If we could only look at someone and see the beauty of their face. The trueness of their heart through their soulful eyes, reading their words of pain and cry in empathy for what

Omtimes.com

they have endured, we are learning. We learn how to recognize these feelings because we have felt them in the past and we sought out ways to heal them. We hold space for their tears. We also know that there is healing in letting those feelings evolve into a higher form of learning. Forgiveness, clarity, acceptance, compassion, and charity. Not only for others but for ourselves as well. Spiritual Optimism is learning to flow with the lessons and glow with the blessings. If we are aware of our thoughts, words, and actions concerning our challenges, we can stop the self- doubt and criticism from bringing us and our vibration down. It’s okay to feel angry. It’s okay to feel slighted sometimes. It’s holding onto the feelings and letting them define us

Omtimes.com

that makes us pessimistic. Anyone who tells you that thoughts don’t matter or that we are destined to live as our ancestors are listening to the voice of negativity. Soul mastery takes courage and perseverance. It takes a big heart but well worth the investment. Learning how to live in the light of the spiritual consciousness while still in human form on the Earth is no easy task. How do we balance these two worlds together so that it makes sense? Very carefully it seems. If we go running off on cloud nine because we can feel the spirit, Intuit for others and heal by channeling energy then forget to pay the electric bill, it will get mighty cold in the house. If we know, there is more to this life than traffic jams, mean people and yes, bills, we are blessed

to be sure. Many people have no clue what they are doing, why they are here or how they got here. It doesn’t mean they won’t learn over a lifetime of love, mistakes, missteps, crazy adventures and misguided fortune hunting. Knowing what you believe in can help keep you optimistic as well. It gives you a base of peace to know that you have purpose and meaning. Helping others not because you were asked to but because it is a part of who you are. The human mind intertwined with the soul spinning in harmony and balance is the real power in our spiritual evolution. How long it takes us to get there is an arguable subject. The Earth needs our optimism now to create the energy to heal it. The energy of hope can permeate the

minds of those who have the power to help change it. If we understand this, we understand how history can be used about what to and what “not” to do. If we know right and wrong in our humanity, if it is possible to become part of the human mind to inherit not to hurt another living being, then let that optimism be our goal. When a Blessing Becomes Radical Self-Love

What if there was more to a blessing that we thought? Here is a look at what is deeper within the blessing that can raise our vibration to a whole new level.

Omtimes.com

What we find valuable, whether it be love, friendship, gratitude for our job, even a favorite coffee shop that we pass when going for a walk, is a gift. It feels good. In fact, it feels great, because it gave us a moment of feeling blessed. Think about it, that friend that is always ready to be optimistic and supportive. The same one that we can’t wait to connect with. That’s a blessing that feels fantastic! Imagine a pet that gives unconditional love. There could be a moment that we connect with our pet and everything around us stops, and for a fleeting moment, there is only the two of us. When we tap into that moment, it expands our heart space to allow tremendous gratitude to exist. With all that love we feel compelled to share it. We might take a photo of us hugging our pet and post it on social media. Because we want to share

how good we felt at that moment, and how incredible it feels to recognize the genuine love that our pet is providing. With that greatness, we need to recognize that on the other side is that we stepped up. Everything is about giving and taking, that’s how feeling works. What comes toward us is coming because we are open to it. It is connecting because we allow it to. If we want to own the blessing that the moment shared and not overlook what it is giving us, then we have to be willing to see the whole picture. What role did we play in that blessing? There is a tremendous amount of greatness that doesn’t appear to us on the surface. Take a moment and think about it. Our pet came to us at that

Omtimes.com

moment because we were open to it. We allowed for the opportunity to exist. More than that, it is that we nurtured the moment before it even began. We chose to adopt that pet and share our lives with it. We are the ones that give that pet what it needs. Food, shelter, exercise, love, and the space to be who that pet wants to be. While not taking away from the blessing of having that moment exist, we can choose to make the blessing even bigger. We can recognize that we too have a part in what we feel is a blessing, and with that, we have one more reason for self-love. How radical is that? To take a moment and recognize the whole picture can gift us with so much more than it initially presented. It is more than

Omtimes.com

just what we are receiving, but also another opportunity to allow self-love to exist as well. It’s so simple to catch a blessing and make it bigger than we initially thought it could be. So now, it’s not just the good feelings that come with how much our pet love us, but an increase in awareness of what it is that we are capable. It is a reminder that we have stepped up and did what we do naturally to allow that space to exist. It is an opportunity to fall in love with ourselves a little more. Every time we feel a sense of gratitude, we can empower ourselves to step into our greatness. And with that gratitude, the very next thing that happens is even more compelling than the moment that our pet lets us know we are blessed. A

natural and abundant source of generosity comes to the surface, and we share. It causes a ripple of gratitude and kindness that continues well past ourselves, only because we decided not to cut short the gift that is in the blessing we received in the first place. How incredible is that? It doesn’t contain itself to something as obvious as a loving moment with a pet either. We can feel blessed to have the job we have so that we can make ends meet. With that, we can take self-love to the next level and recognize that it was us who went out to get that job. It was us that took the job and applied ourselves to it every day. That friend that is always ready to be optimistic and supportive, the same one that we can’t wait to connect

with, is there because of what we are doing to allow it. Maybe we make that person laugh. It could be that we are always willing to listen when they want to be heard. The gift of the blessing is the opportunity to reflect on what fantastic things we are doing to make the connection work. Don’t discount that we have a part in the scene that has unraveled and let that realization turn into deeper self-love. 7 Surprising Benefits of Mandalas for Children By Humanity Healing

There is a relationship between coloring mandalas in childhood and the ability to solve certain situations or learn better in school. These drawings also serve to express emotions and live in harmony, regardless of age.

Omtimes.com

They say that mandalas allow us to achieve emotional balance, bring us peace and calm and push away stress. Even though the coloring is childish, the fact is that many of our problems would end if we borrowed the pencils from our children. Mandalas and the Ancestral Traditions More and more children attend medical and psychological offices because of their hyperactivity. They can not stay still for a second, they have to do something else if they do not get bored or start misbehaving. An excellent way to quiet them is by giving them a paper and a pencil to draw. Based on this secret, schools are beginning to offer mandalas to children. What are mandalas? Mandalas are a set of geometric shapes that represent the characteristics of what surrounds us. They have their origin in India and the word means “circle. There are a well-defined center and symmetrical designs in the surroundings to form a unique piece. Mandalas relate to the art of meditation and Hindu wisdom.

Surely you have seen them in some decoration shop or some clothing store. They usually have many colors and shapes can be somewhat hypnotic. The Benefits of Coloring Mandalas for Kids There are many ways our emotions can be externalized. Little ones also need to express what they feel in some way. Some choose to cry, others go from here to there, and others rely on art to demonstrate their feelings. To achieve a state of harmony with oneself and with those around us, mandalas are an excellent choice, regardless of age. What changes in children? That they are usually more familiar with the drawings and the painting and see these schemes as something beautiful to be distracted with. The coloring of mandalas early is related to better development in three fields: emotional, cognitive and behavioral. The stimuli that the little one receives in doing this activity are varied, and are all beneficial to their growth! The most important advantages are: Omtimes.com

1. Foster attention and concentration 2. They favor fine psychomotricity in the fingers 3. To Reduce stress and anxiety 4. They help to develop patience, perseverance, constancy. 5. They allow them to acquire knowledge about geometric forms and think spatially 6. They bring well-being, increase creativity and imagination, will enable them to combine colors and figures. 7. They increase self-esteem and stimulate aesthetic sense. If children painted mandalas on a regular basis, many fights, arguments, and inappropriate behaviors would be avoided. For this reason, more and more schools include these drawings in the classroom, following in the footsteps of Marie PrĂŠvaud, who was the pioneer in this field for several decades. But before her, Carl Jung used the mandalas as therapy to interpret dreams or to know the personality of his patients. Omtimes.com

Mandalas in the adult life Having left childhood behind does not mean that paintings and colors also have to stay in the past. Undoubtedly, you also have the possibility to color mandalas and enjoy its benefits! Mandalas in adults are used to achieve a state of deep meditation and, according to current psychology, represent the human being and his relation to the Universe. So coloring a mandala helps you connect with your inner self, bring out your most creative side, and lower your heart rate and blood pressure. It is about taking a trip to the depths of your being, take advantage of not thinking about anything else besides drawing, shapes, and colors. A mandala is not merely a beautiful gift or a piece of decoration in your home. It’s also a way to get to know a world so far mysterious, in which the best of you are waiting to come out. You will see how through these colored forms you will find calm in the midst of the gale, the rainbow after the storm, and the light after so long of darkness.

4 Fantastic Insurance Plan Options for Day Spas Liability Insurance Coverage

Day spas are becoming popular with the population focusing more on wellness and health. With this insurgence of interest, you have to take special care to protect your business. Here are some of the insurance plan options that you should consider for your day spa.

Omtimes.com

The point of liability insurance is to cover any incidents that may occur while your customers are on the premises. This would cover things like slips and falls or something else outside of the treatments that are being provided. Most businesses need to have this type of insurance. Some companies, like Marine Agency, know that it would also cover an employee incident that resulted in them being injured. Liability insurance is just what it says. It protects your business up to a certain point for any liability issues. Property Insurance You never know when a natural disaster may strike in your area. Another reason that having property insurance is a good idea is if there was a fire that

damaged your building. You don’t want to have to shell out the money to repair your facility on your own. Property insurance protects the place that you do business. It can also be used to replace the equipment that you use for your day spa. Medical Insurance The type of medical insurance that you seriously need to consider for your day spa is a professional liability for your employees. This would include things like malpractice, HIPAA violations, sexual assault allegations, and anything else that resulted in a customer being injured during a treatment session. You may or may not have a licensed medical facility as a part of your day spa. Insurance for medical spas will cover any of these types of incidents reported by your customers. Business Disruption Coverage If you were unable to open your doors, business disruption insurance would cover your payroll and other operating expenses. There are a variety of reasons that you may not

be able to conduct business. There may have been a fire, or there’s an ongoing investigation stemming from customer accusations. This type of insurance will help you to keep everything on hold until things can be resolved. You don’t want to have to hire new employees or not be able to pay your bills during this timeframe. Day spas require more insurance types and coverage limits than the average business. Do your research so that you can protect your business from any unforeseen incidents. The dynamics of the web of connections we make is one of the most prominent aspects of human existence: how we interlace with each other’s existence in a meaningful way.

6 Top Traits of The Emotionally Immature People By Ascending hearts

What characterizes the emotionally immature people? The issues of maturity and immaturity are raised with them many myths. People do not admit to being labeled or analyzed by only one aspect. Each of us is a chalice in which different forms of

Omtimes.com

consciousness are mixed: we are ignorant and wise, children and old, mature and immature. We are a mixture, although depending on the moment some characteristics stand out more than others. Emotional immaturity can be defined as a condition where people have not renounced their childhood desires or fantasies, and consequently, their behaviors. They still believe that the people and the world revolve around them and is there to satisfy their wishes and whims, or that reality must conform to what they desire. Likewise, emotional maturity can be defined as a state of strength and temperance that leads us to realistic and balanced behaviors. “Maturity begins to manifest when we feel that we care more about others than about ourselves.” – Albert Einstein More than an abstract definition, maturity or immaturity is shown through

characteristics of behavior. Here are five traits that are characteristic of emotionally immature people. Traits of emotionally immature people 1. They Self-centered people To realize that the world does not revolve around you is a big step in the process of maturity. The baby does not know that. So he asks to feed at 2 in the morning and does not care if it affects his parents’ sleep. As you grow older, you learn to recognize that you can not always get everything you want, that other people and your world also have their needs. Ripening involves getting out of the prison of oneself and losing the illusion that surrounds the life of a baby: just ask for a need or desire to be satisfied. While we are gradually losing this fantasy, we are also becoming aware of a beautiful possibility: the adventure of exploring the universe of others. If all goes

Omtimes.com

well, we will learn to preserve self, and we will come to you. 2. The difficulty of making commitments A clear sign of immaturity in people is the difficulty of making pledges and keeping promises. For a child, it is tough to give up what you want at that time to achieve a long-term goal. If we give him a treat and tell him that if he does not eat it at that moment, he will gain one more, the desire to eat the delicacy he has in his hand will prevail. Through the process of maturity, we understand that sacrifices and restraints are necessary to achieve success. Committing oneself to a goal or a person is not a limitation of freedom, but a condition for projecting yourself better in the long run. 3. The Tendency to Play the Blame game Children are directed to much of their lives by other people and do not act according to

Omtimes.com

their will. However, they are in the process of formation and insertion into a culture. While they are small, they believe that error carries a punishment. They do not care much about the damages they have caused, but with the penalty or sanctions, they may receive. To grow is to abandon this sweet state of irresponsibility. To mature is to understand that we are the only ones responsible for what we do or do not do. Recognize your mistakes and learn from them. Learn to repair the damage you caused and learn to ask for forgiveness. 4. They Establish dependency bonds For immature persons, others are a means and not an end in themselves. They do not need others because they love them, but they love them because they need them. In this way, they often build bonds through dependence. To establish connections based

on freedom, we are obliged to have autonomy. However, emotionally immature people do not have a clear sense of independence. Often, they believe that meeting their wants is an autonomous behavior, but to take the consequences of their actions, they need others to cushion, hide or alleviate their responsibility. 5. Irresponsibility in money management Impulsiveness is one of the most striking features of immature people. Impulsiveness that is often expressed in the way they manage their resources, such as money. So, to satisfy your desires immediately, buy what you do not need the money you do not have. Sometimes they embark on bizarre financial adventures: they do not objectively analyze investments and fail to assess the consequences in the medium and long-term. Therefore, they always live indebted, only to satisfy all

their whims. 6. They are Control freaks: The Immature person has difficulties in letting the things be as they are, and frequently feel the need to be in control of everything and everyone. Their Comfort Zone is variable in direct proportion to the acceptance of their ideas, words and general behavior. They have their own Ideas of perfection and Order. The person does not decide to be immature. All these characteristics of immaturity do not arise or remain with the conscious decision of individuals. They almost always result from gaps or gaps suffered in childhood or may be the result of unhappy experiences that have prevented it from evolving and letting these experiences go. If you are like this or know someone like that, do not judge him. In fact, the important thing is to realize that boosting their own emotional growth, it can lead them to a better life.

Stop Comparing Yourselves to Images We See Online By Maria Sirota, MD.

People are posting a lot of photos of themselves doing amazing things with amazing people. Once people are out of doors, it’s natural for people to want to be more visible, and for some of them, to want to one-up the other people who are posting photos online.

Omtimes.com

Whether they choose Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter or all of the above, many of these individuals have become social media stars. For those of us with relatively ordinary lives, it’s easy to feel like we fall short in comparison. It’s almost an automatic reflex to compare ourselves to those people online who we think are living more exciting lives than we are. We see them doing these seemingly fabulous activities and going to these seemingly fantastic places, and we think, “Why am I not doing that? Why can’t I have that lifestyle?” The people posting their photos online look great all the time. They never have a bad hair day or a wardrobe malfunction. Their clothes and makeup are always perfect; their activities seem incredibly fun and exciting; they’re surrounded by beautiful, fascinatinglooking people. We regular

folk feel inadequate in comparison. But should we be comparing ourselves to the pictures we see online? For many of us, it’s almost impossible not to do so. But when we do compare ourselves, we feel like we could never measure up. It’s demoralizing, as we’re convinced that we’ll never be as attractive, as welldressed or as popular as these people appear to be. We’re certain that we’ll never be at the right place at the right time like these internet stars always are. But there’s something we need to remember about online images. Their only purpose is to present their subject in the best possible light. These people are posting deliberately manipulated images to show us a version of themselves that’s at best, highly exaggerated and at worst, utterly artificial.

Omtimes.com

The truth is that many of the people who post these perfect lifestyle and beauty shots online aren’t living their best lives or being their best selves. Most of them are carefully curating the images they present, and some are manufacturing artificial scenarios in the same way as an art director for film, TV or advertising creates an imaginary world.

The social media pictures we see every day are so convincing that they seem authentic. We tend to believe the hype, and it’s sad because we’re judging ourselves as inadequate while comparing ourselves to images that aren’t real.

Film and TV directors create images to tell us stories; advertisers manipulate or distort images to sell us products, and people on social media post their carefully chosen images to make the best possible impression.

The internet lends itself to liars. Whether political lobbyists, advertisers or catfishers, too many people online are nothing like what they’re presenting. Some aren’t even people, they’re bots! The takeaway message should be that just because we think something seems real online, it doesn’t mean that it is.

What’s the underlying motivation for this last group? Maybe it’s the ego boost that’s supposed to come with the illusion of fame; maybe it’s the hope of getting their sites monetized; maybe it’s insecurity and an excessive need for admiration — even if this admiration is based on an illusion.

We need to be careful when comparing ourselves to others online because more often than not, the person with the seemingly fabulous life is presenting a hugely false impression of their appearance, social life, finances, possessions, and lifestyle. In fact, a recent Huffington Post article

Omtimes.com

describes 11 things that people regularly fake on their social media profiles. Comparing ourselves to others is always problematic. We habitually compare ourselves to those who appear to be better than we are and then we feel bad about ourselves. We rarely compare ourselves to those who appear to have less than we do. We need to stop comparing ourselves to others in general, because the nature of such comparisons is to always make us feel “less than,” and this leads to unhappiness. We need to accept ourselves just as we are, right now. We shouldn’t be trying to live up to the illusory standards of perfection we see online. We don’t need to be perfect to be happy. Happiness comes from living our best lives — not a replication of someone else’s life; it comes from being the best version of ourselves — not a carbon copy of someone else.

Choosing not to compare ourselves to others doesn’t mean that we should be complacent. It’s appropriate to be always learning, growing and changing, but we’ll be more motivated to change when we already feel good about ourselves. Self-acceptance is more conducive to selfimprovement than selfcriticism is. With a positive attitude about ourselves rather than a judgmental one, we’re empowered to become the best versions of ourselves that we can be. What we shouldn’t ever do is beat ourselves up for failing to meet these false standards of perfection. Perfection is impossible and unnecessary, and the truth is that no-one who posts their pictures on social media is anywhere close to perfect. Sign up here for my free monthly wellness newsletter

3 Steps to Protect Yourself From Energy Vampires

Feeling drained around certain people? Life is filled with the ebb and flow of energy, though sometimes we find people who “take energy from other people.

Omtimes.com

These “energy” vampires exist in all walks of life. Learn how to identify these situations, how to protect one’s self and the next steps. Whether at work or living life, it is challenging to avoid “energy” vampires. They are present in all aspects of life and live off of pulling energy from other people. Some of the symptoms include feeling drained or exhausted after talking or being around someone, negative feeling towards a person, and possibly an uneasiness or “creepy” feeling when touched. It is important to listen to these inner cues and break the energy drain. There are a few techniques that can disconnect the energy drain or avoid it.

1. Identifying the Situation This entails honoring the inner voice or gut feeling about another person. We intuitively know when others

are not as they appear. The energy vampire doesn’t have any distinguishing markings. They have specific behaviors. These are people that feel the need to “live” through others, are unhappy with themselves, or pray upon others. They come in a multitude of faces. It could be a parent, friend, spouse, or stranger. Most of the time, it is an unconscious action on the other person’s part to “survive.” There are those who are calculating, and intentionally pull the energy from others.

2. Protecting One’s Self The first step in to recognize the situation. Then, the innate desire to change the situation. The change starts from within one’s self. Often times, it’s simple like telling someone not to touch. It is okay to take care of one’s self and limit touching by other people. We need to listen to our own comfort zones.

Omtimes.com

Also, it helps to wear a protection stone. Stones can help dissipate the energies of the other person. These stones can enhance our own energies, and protect them from outside influence. Self-healing rituals help alleviate the effects of the encounter by changing the focus from without to within. Some possible rituals are meditation, Reiki, crystals, or exercise. Often, we can change to focus on our thoughts, and this act changes the direction of our energy flow. If none of the above works, it is good to seek the assistance of an energy healer.

3. The Next Step The last piece of this is to learn from the interaction, apply the lesson, and change one’s self. The biggest step is to emotional disconnect from the situation. This disconnection allows for the individual to disconnect

Omtimes.com

from the energy vampire quicker, easier, and possibly permanently. Life is the ebb and flow of energy through our present situation. The flow runs smoother when we emotionally disconnect ourselves from guilt and fear. These are common emotions that are felt in the situation with an energy vampire. They feed upon this, and we find it hard to disconnect due to these emotions. Bio Karen Ulvestad is a Reiki Master/Teacher, intuitive, writer and Aroma Therapy student. Assertive Qualities to Cultivate to Build Healthy Relationships By OMTimes

Assertive people are not just born naturally, but they are developed. Of course, there are conditions in which the development of certain virtues or abilities is facilitated, but

Omtimes.com

ultimately, we all must work to achieve more precise and constructive ways of being. Assertiveness could be defined as the ability to relate to others in a sincere and uplifting way, thus constituting a bridge to interpersonal trust. We can also say it it is an attitude towards oneself and others that leads to maintaining the balance between rights and duties, while at the same time taking care of mutual respect, dignity, and integrity. It is much easier to theorize than to put into practice. Assertive people are the fruit of different processes and efforts that come together to achieve attitudinal balance. Finally, all this is part of this long path that leads us to learn to live. It is worth examining what these traits that can make us assertive and balanced human beings. “Create boundaries. Honor

your limits. Say no. Take a break. Let go. Stay grounded. Nurture your body. Love your vulnerability. And if all else fails, breathe deeply. –Aletheia Luna, Awakened Empath: The Ultimate Guide to Emotional, Psychological and Spiritual Healing Assertive people know what respect is The word respect is defined as the ability to value and treat something or someone with consideration. Confident people develop this ability. They apply it to themselves and especially to what is external to them, be they people, ideas, works or even animals. Respect manifests itself in the first instance as a renunciation of violence. Ill-treatment is not an option under any circumstances. If there is contradiction or conflict, assertive people process it out of respect for themselves and for others.

Omtimes.com

This attitude of respect also manifests itself in the world of concepts, ideas, and ideologies. The field of beliefs and beliefs is not delimited, however, shared. Someone assertive understands that in all human beings and in their works, there is a value that cannot be neglected. Assertiveness allows people to relate sincerely to others Confident people attach importance to good relationships with others. They understand that these relations cannot be built on falsehood or hypocrisy. That’s why they show themselves as they are because Assertive people want others to know what they can have with them. They try not to put themselves in uncomfortable positions in the long run, such as condescension. If they do not agree with something, they say it directly. Do not

Omtimes.com

sacrifice your identity to avoid contradictions. For this reason, choose your friends carefully. If it is not born of their hearts to give their friendship to someone, they will not. They do not move for convenience, but out of conviction. Assertive people know themselves, accept and appreciate themselves Assertive people have self-confidence, but selfconfidence is not born of a sense of Self- sufficiency or a sense of superiority. They trust in what they are, it is because they know each other; and if they know each other, it is because they observe, evaluate themselves and learn to have a constructive internal dialogue. This means that they assume themselves as people with correctness and error. Self-knowledge leads to understanding. This, in turn, leads to acceptance and selflove. Assertiveness is precise

to have humility enough to recognize itself as human and therefore imperfect. Assertive people have self-control and emotional stability Assertive people can create mechanisms to regulate their emotions. Thus, the attitude that predominates in them is that of serenity. They understand that we all feel and that feelings need to be addressed. It’s not that they do not feel anger, anguish or pain. They have merely learned that disarming the rudder of their lives from all controls leads to the wrong expression of those emotions that have so much energy. This principle also applies to others. This means that they know how to understand the feelings of others and that they also find themselves in a state of tranquility. Those who are assertive do not put firewood on the fire or

try to manipulate others by seeking their “failures” or weaknesses. They help others regain their center so that no situation completely escapes their control. “The basic difference between being assertive and being aggressive is the way our words and behaviors affect the rights of others.” –Sharon Anthony Bower Assertive people cultivate their communicative skills It is no secret that most our problems are developed from poor skills in communicating. We often listen to respond, not to understand each other. Many difficulties are solved in the field of discussion and dialogue. What makes the exchange of opinions, so complex is that often the tools are not appropriately used to do it. There is a lack of sincerity, or there is merely no clarity about what one wants to say, or there is

Omtimes.com

doubt as to the best way of expressing oneself. Self-knowledge and reflection allow communication skills to be developed. This implies the ability to express, in a clear, sincere and straightforward way what is carried within. But it also involves being able to actively listen to what the other has to say. The truth is that assertive people know the value of communication and are willing to invest resources in improving their way of communicating. Assertive people know when and how to draw limits You cannot always have excellent relationships with others. Reality puts us in front of people who tend to abuse or harbor within them the desire to harm, in a kind of resentment with life. This creates tensions about which assertive

Omtimes.com

people can say “enough.” In the same way, not always the expectations or desires of others can be satisfied. This eventually gives way to the birth of guilts that sometimes invite us to pass over ourselves. In developing assertiveness, this does not happen: you can say “no” without the adverse generating internal discomfort. Assertive people are emotionally independent Those who are assertive also become capable of tolerating rejection and assimilating the indifference of others. They do not act for the approval of others, but to be consistent with their beliefs, beliefs, and needs. Like everyone in the world, assertive people prefer to be recognized by others. However, if this does not happen, you will not fall into the temptation to act against your own conscience.

All these characteristics are unstable and unfinished; that is, we will not have fulfilled the aspiration to find people who are assertive in all their actions and words. Nothing in the human being is complete, in all dimensions we have a growth margin, and to take advantage of it, it is sufficient to try, increasingly, to be better and better. “A BILL OF ASSERTIVE RIGHTS I: You have the right to judge your own behavior, thoughts, and emotions, and to take responsibility for their initiation and consequences upon yourself. II: You have the right to offer no reasons or excuses for justifying your behavior. III: You have the right to judge if you are responsible for finding solutions to other people’s problems.

IV: You have the right to change your mind. V: You have the right to make mistakes—and be responsible for them. VI: You have the right to say, “I don’t know.” VII: You have the right to be independent of the goodwill of others before coping with them. VIII: You have the right to be illogical in making decisions. IX: You have the right to say, “I don’t understand.” X: You have the right to say, “I don’t care.” YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO SAY NO, WITHOUT FEELING GUILTY” –Manuel J. How To Deal with Inner Critical Voice We all have an inner chatterbox that we sometimes want to shut down. In this article, Amy addresses where this often comes from and how to address it so that you can troubleshoot your own enlightenment. Most of us have heard the little voice in our head criticize us. It might warn us of impending doom or that we, ourselves, are not good enough to achieve our goals. Many of us suffer from our inner critic most of our waking hours and even sometimes during sleep. The inner critic becomes a constant companion continues because we might think it’s necessary to keep ourselves in line. Some of us torment ourselves more often than we realize. We begin to dissociate from emotional pain in which we become accustomed to. This allows it and other negative emotions, like anger, fear, and jealousy to spread and grow. Omtimes.com

It doesn’t matter whether or not that voice is criticizing ourselves or someone else. Either way, it affects our happiness and wellbeing. It affects those around us, too. For example – We often allow people or small events to stress us out. Maybe someone gave a neg-

ative opinion on how someone looks. It’s not about the person they are speaking of. It’s about the person making the opinion. That person has just altered their happiness and stress levels.

Accept that it is there, instead of attempting to ignore it or push it away. Accept that it’s a part of you for the time being.

With coaching the mindset, we create a kind of salve to help heal this critical part that often seems to have a mind of its own, as we have previously failed to reign it in. We create self-compassion as we release blocks to moving on and moving forward.

Tell that critical part to take a vacation (or at least not to interrupt you until a certain time of day and then only for a designated 30 minutes when you are alone and can process it.) It’s not always easy to do this, but with practice, it can be helpful.

So if you’re stressed out and have a very active critical voice inside you, wouldn’t you like to take a break from it or even create an internal environment that doesn’t allow that part of you to get out of control in the first place? Problems at work, fear, being overweight and another suffering can be remedied when we work together with someone as a team.

Amy Hale is a Hypnotherapist with advanced certifications in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Medical forms of hypnosis. She also offers EFT and Energy Mechanics to help others overcome insecurities and create better versions of themselves and their lives. Drawing from personal experience and research, she often works with those who are challenged with auto-immune difficulties, as well as, struggling to overcome long-formed, personal self-sabotage.

Experiment With This Notice your own internal stress. (e.g., anger, resentment, fear, depression, etc.) Face the part of you that is getting more of your mental time than you desire and listen to what it really wants. (It’s likely

protecting you from something.)

Discovering the Space Kingdom of Asgardia: Our hope, Our opportunity. by Helena Aramendia

Blank pages are frightening. Scary like unused canvases and most projects. And in spite of everything, or who knows, just for that reason, they are also exciting, irresistible. They are the definition of potentiality. And it is that infinite potential that makes them so attractive to many of us. This is what is happening with Asgardia. For those of you who do not know, Asgardia is a Omtimes.com

space nation. I’m not kidding. It was born in 2016 at fathered by a Russian scientist and businessman, Dr. Igor Asurbeyly, and he is not alone in the task. Some of the world most relevant lawyers specializing in space law are behind Dr. Asurbeyly in the non-profit association NGO Asgardia, which is the engine and support behind the concept of Asgardia the Space Kingdom, a concept that attracted me irresistibly from the first moment, especially because of its potential. In its year and a half of life, the nation has gone from being an idea to having not only the relevant symbols, such as anthem, flag, and coat of arms but also a constitution approved by popular vote. Currently, in April 2018, the democratic process of electing its representatives in the parliament is coming to an end, followed by the nomination of government officials. It is not bad for being a landless nation, and above all, a nation without history, without cultural, ethnic or linguistic homogeneity. Asgardia is officially a nation because to be one, it only needs a sufficient number of citizens willing to be so and the

corresponding legal instruments that regulate them. But will it ever be a country, a state? State definitions usually include the concept of territory, and Asgardia does not seek to have territory on earth. On the one hand, it is possible for Asgardia to possess an object in orbit that, due to the fact of belonging to it, becomes an Asgardian territory. I suppose that the laws that define a territory until now have not contemplated the assumption that said territory is not on our planet if it were not in orbit. From the moment that a citizen does not need to live in the territory of which he declares himself a citizen, it seems to me that we are facing the possibility of having “space” as a legal territory. Being such a new and ambitious but new concept, to speak of Asgardia is like doing the Rorschach test; everybody completes the little information that is known with their own ideas, their fears, their anger, their vision of the world, of life and of the future. At this moment there are just over 182,000 citizens, belonging to 200 countries. 12 official languages correspond to the most spoken languages in Asgardia by some inhabitants. It is expected that there will be 150 parliamentarians and 12 ministries. And all this must be organized, created, developed and operated virtually. To me, it seems a task of titans, and as I love the difficult but juicy challenges, I confess that I entered jumping with both feet. Why? Because we are going to create it ourselves and each brushstroke counts. Regardless of its legal status, whether or not it will become a country with full rights, what matters to me is whether we are able to organize ourselves, to work together, to create a common project on a large scale with the sole purpose of benefiting all mankind. At the moment in Asgardia, there are those who entered out of curiosity. Others, trying to see if there is an opportunity to do business. Some signed up to make friends with similar minds, a few Omtimes.com

of them, the critics, to be able to gossip and criticise everyone. There are those who thought that in a couple of years they were going to go on vacation to the moon, those who expect miracles, the paranoids who see a conspiracy in everything, and the science fiction fanatics with transhumanist fantasies. All these are a minority, and of course, they are welcome, like everybody else. However, what I can see more often than not when I take the time to meet a few Asgardians, is people with their hearts in their hand, with a common vision of the future, with hope. I see people working many hours, most of them without pay, meeting each other, dreaming, trying to manifest a dream, a better world for our children. Many of them have stepped forward to take the helm of the nation and create the parliament and the government. The Constitution of Asgardia says it very clearly. In the declaration of unity mention as objectives “... • unite future humanity as trans-ethnic, transnational, transreligious, ethical, just, peaceful, looking at the infinite universe, based on the equality and dignity of every human being; • resolve differences, conflicts,

inequalities, and imperfections in human history, bring spiritual and scientific practices and achievements to a new level in their civilizational and cultural multitude, and launch a new era in the history of space humanity “ I believe that I am not mistaken when I say that the Constitution, and especially the Declaration of Unity, is what attracts us. As for me, why am I here? Easy. Because I’ve always thought that a better world is possible. Because it is time to create the new earth. Because I am sick of borders, of slavery, of injustice, of separation, of struggles, of conflicts. Because I do not see an exit. I do not think it is possible to find a solution in the same framework in which all the problems have been created. I do not imagine such a radical change. The solution goes through the creation of a new, fresh, non-committed or dependent support, without religion, without borders, without politics, and Asgardia wants to be that place. I do not know if it will be possible. I know it is very difficult and I confess that I have my doubts, but I do not see another alternative. We have

to try. If enough people push in the right direction, there will reach their destination. It is the law. And if we do not get it, we will at least advance one or two steps further, and the next brave souls that try to do it can start from a more advanced point. That is the way how progress is made. It is about failure as well as about the success of those that precede us. That’s why I’m not afraid. Because in this particular task, trying is already succeeding, regardless of the immediate result. As a healer, the most difficult lesson to learn was the detachment from the result. From here I would like to invite you to accompany Asgardia in its manifestation; especially those who know that similar energies attract each other and manifest matter. I want to call those who are aware that as it is above it is below. The battle is already won in other realms, and it is waiting to manifest in this one. Let’s be part of a nation that ensures freedom and equality for all. The bigger we make this nation, the more we can do for everyone, and for the planet that we want to protect above else.
