Finally, you’re here.

Now is the time to relax and let us take care of everything else. Get out

on deck and experience the fresh sea air, explore your ship and all its amenities, or grab a bite to eat. Every aspect of this holiday was designed for you to relax, refresh and rejuvenate. On the following pages, you can learn a bit more about what you can expect in the coming days in this book of discovery. We call it that for a reason — not only because of the wonderful ports you’ll be visiting, but also because of all the distinct pleasures you will find, one by one, on your Princess ® ship. What will be your favorite venue, activity, restaurant? Only the moments ahead will tell…

The Consummate Host

service

On your Princess ship, gracious and attentive crew members are there to serve you and make your entire holiday memorable.

You first noticed it on the lapel of the officer who welcomed you aboard as you crossed the gangway: a blue and gold pin that read "Cruise." Then you saw it again worn by the concierge, and your stateroom steward, and ... What are these pins, and what does CRUISE stand for? CRUISE began as a program to help keep the passenger experience top-of-mind for all Princess staff and crew, and that is still one of its important goals. But CRUISE is also how we recognize and reward employees for great performance. CRUISE is how we educate our employees for career and personal growth. CRUISE is how we support our employees' health and welfare so they can perform their jobs with excellence every day. CRUISE is the vehicle through which Princess delivers our core values — we serve, we respect our team, we innovate,

we are consistent, we are accountable, and we do it right — to our staff, and motivates them to live out those values and be The Consummate Host. What does CRUISE mean to you? It means you can expect consistently warm, welcoming service — from courteous greetings in the dining room at dinner to friendly smiles by the stewards — on every ship in our fleet. It means everyone on board is working together to make your holiday a relaxed, rejuvenating retreat at sea. It means all of us know your holiday memories are infinitely precious — and we want you to remember not only our spectacular ships sailing to fantastic destinations, but also how valued you felt while you were on board.

One of the most enticing things about your spectacular Princess ship is the wide variety of tempting onboard options to delight your palate. From specialty restaurants and gracious dining rooms, a warm, freshly cooked meal is never far away. You can have a burger grilled-to-order out on deck, or grab a slice of handmade pizza to eat by the pool. Maybe all you need is some soft-serve ice cream to fend off the heat. Or keep your eyes open for cookies & milk on deck in the afternoon. From breakfast to dinner to late-night snacks, Princess raises the bar on dining at sea.

A chef in one of the galleys takes a tray of Princess breads from the oven. Each day, an assortment of baked goods are prepared for your enjoyment.

Movies Under the Stars ® is a real crowd-pleaser, with up to five movies shown poolside during the day, and two feature films at night. What a great way to take advantage of warm nights in the region! A high-tech 300-squarefoot LED screen and 69,000-watt stereo system assure clarity and quality of sound from wherever on the deck you might be sitting.

Even kids get in

on the fun. Some of the most popular offerings on the Movies Under the Stars big screen are our special Playstation® or Nintendo ® Wii TM tournaments. And teens will enjoy late-night screenings just for them, while younger cruisers can take in a colorful matinee with newfound mates!

To keep the entertainment fresh, there are other showings besides movies. Major sporting events such as the Super Bowl,® NBA Finals, World Series, NCAA Basketball ® tournament and NCAA Bowl Championship Series™ are shown on the big screen, weather permitting.* And you’ll often find yourself grooving to a concert video of one of the world’s popular performers.

Viewed from high above, the Movies Under the Stars screen entertains passengers poolside.

Note: Movies Under the Stars is featured on most Princess ships.

When was the last time you could go out without a single worry — and have so much to choose from? It’s a rare luxury to be able to walk out of your stateroom any evening, and within a short stroll be able to take in a musical, roll the dice in a lively casino, settle into a piano bar for some cocktails and live music, or dance the night away in a state-of-the-art nightclub. From comedy and magic acts to movies by the pool to champagne in an intimate lounge, there’s always more to do than you could fit in an evening. Fortunately, you’ve got many nights ahead to enjoy all the evenings Princess holds in store for you.

Before retiring, you may want to drop by the Atrium for the fabulous Champagne Waterfall, or get out on deck for a stroll beneath the stars in the balmy tropical air.

If the sight of Sydney Harbour (or the port of Melbourne) slipping out of view didn’t convince you, let us remind you: Your holiday is here! Maybe you're just taking a short jaunt from Sydney to Melbourne or down to Tasmania, but a holiday is a holiday whether it's three days or three weeks. Melbourne It’s been dubbed the “most European” of Australian cities, which seems to be shorthand for a food-crazy city full of stylish urbanites who are serious about their espresso. Melburnians probably wouldn’t argue with that description. They don’t often gloat about their hometown, but they could. Melbourne really does have it all: great shopping, the best coffee, a wealth of food from across the globe, a glitzy casino and adorable cobblestoned alleys made for stumbling across hidden gems. For all its urban cred, Melbourne is a city of nature, too. The Treasury and Fitzroy gardens provide quiet escapes, and the Royal Botanic Gardens takes the Burke’s Backyard concept to the max. The city is prone to the proverbial four seasons in one day, but if a beach day at St. Kilda gets rained out, there’s plenty to explore indoors at museums and markets galore. Two multi-purpose precincts in particular provide an antidote to boredom, each packing shopping, dining, entertainment and culture into in one convenient location: Federation Square, adjacent to Flinders Street Station; and swanky Southbank, alongside the Yarra River. Getting around is a cinch, thanks to wide, tree-lined boulevards and the city’s distinctive, widespread tram system.

Sydney Ah, Sydney. Is there a place in the world that can match its show-stopping, scene-stealing beauty? (Nope, didn’t think so.) The city is brimming with iconic encounters, so if you’ve photoS by: (12 apostles in Australia) GeorgeMPhotography/shutterstock.com; (Bathing boxes) Perig/shutterstock.com; (Sydney Ferry) Gordon Bell/shutterstock.com

already done the Bridge Climb, it may be time for a behindthe-scenes tour of the Opera House. Other classic ways to see the city — experiences even locals love to do over and over again — include jumping on a ferry to Manly, doing the Bronte-to-Bondi coastal walk or exploring Taronga Zoo, where the giraffes have views of the city skyline and the hidden coves of Sydney Harbour. There’s lots to see in Sydney’s other nooks and crannies, too. A short hop to the west is the Sydney Fish Market, where the best of the catch includes Sydney Rock Oysters and Balmain Bugs. At the southern end of Darling Harbour, there’s Chinatown, worth exploring for both authentic, piping hot dishes and unique shopping options, often at bargain prices. Whether you see the city from the water or from great heights, from inside its shops and museums or from a perch FROM TOP: Bathing boxes on Brighton Beach, Melbourne; a ferry in Sydney Harbour.

Northern Region Top this

The outback outpost of Darwin is home to a rugged set of individuals along with a fair share of real live crocs. Locals call the region the Top End. Visitors who take a cruise on the Adelaide River to see the famous jumping crocodiles will call Darwin unforgettable. The maze of six-foot-tall termite mounds at Litchfield National Park is equally amazing.

Queensland

Reefs and rarities High-speed catamarans skim over the shimmering Pacific from picturesque Airlie Beach to the Whitsunday Islands and the spectacular Great Barrier Reef. Watching schools of brilliantly coloured fish and gently swaying corals through a snorkel mask is a stirring adventure. The reef, one of the seven wonders of the natural world, stretches over 2,890 kilometres along the Queensland coast and is within a boat ride of Port Douglas and Townsville. Near sunny Cairns, the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway glides high above the lush Kuranda Rainforest. Touring trendy Brisbane, set on the Brisbane River, is as easy as crossing a bridge or hopping on a city ferry linking attractions on the river’s south and north shores. The city offers a touch of the best of Australia, from viewing Aboriginal art at the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art to strolling amid tropical plants in the Brisbane Botanical Gardens. Visitors are allowed to cuddle koalas for photo ops, a rare treat, at the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. Edwardian architecture abound in Adelaide. Shore excursions feature the famous Barossa Valley wine-growing region, oliveoil tastings, and sessions for sampling the luscious goodies at Haigh’s Chocolate Factory.

Western Region Dramatic scenes

The west coast’s wild expanses and endless seas are legendary. Near Albany, the Southern Ocean has carved dramatic granite formations in Torndirrup National Park. Bunbury is renowned for the playing in Koombana Bay. Geraldton’s pristine beaches attract aquatic sports enthusiasts. Further north, Broome offers camel-riding on the sparkling white sands of Cable Beach. The incredibly beautiful Kimberly Coast is an awesome showplace of red-rock cliffs with waterfalls plunging into turquoise pools. Fremantle, the port for Perth, is the site of the intriguing Aquarium of Western Australia. FROM TOP: Fierce crocodile; curious koala; bottlenose dolphins.

Burnie Burnie has a lot of stories to tell. Not least, its transformation from a town of 20,000 once dominated by a paper mill and other heavy industry. The closure of the mill in 2010 was a heavy blow, but Burnie has transformed itself into an innovative, thriving, tourist-friendly destination. Paper still plays a starring role in the town: A venture called Creative Paper now anchors the Burnie Visitor Centre, showcasing local, handmade paper products conjured from a variety of recycled materials. The spirit of creativity and adaptability displayed there — along with the tradition of making stuff, whether it’s paper, of Burnie. Christchurch You’ll be forgiven for thinking the captain has magically taken a pit stop in Europe when the ship docks in beautiful Akaroa, the gateway to your visit in Christchurch. Nestled in the emerald hills of the Banks Peninsula, this tiny town is far more French than Kiwi, in everything from the street names to the cuisine. But if you can tear yourself away from this très adorable corner of the world, jump on a tour to historic Christchurch. Also sprinkled with European inspiration, Christchurch’s picturesque beauty often draws comparisons to England: Think manicured gardens and sweeping parks. Despite being the third-largest city in New Zealand, Christchurch has a distinct village feel. Make the most of the slow pace by gliding down the Avon River in a punt, or taking a stroll through the Botanic Gardens. For something a little left of centre, you could head to the International Antarctic Centre, where visitors can experience bitterly cold blizzard conditions and zoom around a custommade track on a snowmobile. While Christchurch is still in recovery mode from the 2011 earthquake, the locals, known as Cantabrians, are fiercely proud of their city and are determinedly rebuilding. They’ll welcome you with open arms and oodles of Canterbury charm. — Karleigh Smith

Bay of Islands is a collection of coastal settlements steeped in history. Waitangi Treaty Ground, the actual spot where the queen of England’s representatives and local Maori signed the document that made New Zealand a colony of Britain, is just a few minutes from Waitangi wharf and well worth a visit. In the next town, Paihia, there are laidback places to eat and drink, and perfect beaches to laze on. A short ferry ride away is Russell, where you can traipse around the old whaling town and pay a visit to the country’s oldest hotel and church. The Bay of Islands area is renowned for its marine life, so you’ll probably want to get out onto the ocean on a small boat. If you’re lucky, you might spot orcas and penguins. You may even get a chance to to swim with the local dolphins. — Kirsten Matthew 64

Your ship will glide silently through the magnificent “sounds” — the pristine bodies of water flanked by towering, often snow-capped, cliffs. During your journey through Fiordland you’ll see the worldfamous Milford and Doubtful sounds, along with Browne and Sutherland falls, which are among the tallest waterfalls on the planet. Fiji All are welcome. This message is conveyed by the smiling faces of Fiji’s people and in the official welcome song, “Bula Maleya,” which you may hear throug hout your stay. The nation is made up 333 islands, most of which are pristine and unspoiled by humans. When you see the country’s lush, subtropical rainforest, traditional villages and stretches of pure white-sand beaches, you’ll know why everyone’s so happy.

Port Denarau When the first cruises began arriving in Fiji in the mid-20th well-heeled visitors and the Fijian well-to-do, with a modern retail complex, marina and golf club. Port Denarau is a short tender ride from your ship, and there’s plenty to choose from once you’re ashore. This is your chance to experience authentic Fijian culture and hospitality, with shore excursions ranging from leisurely beach relaxation to active watersports and exciting Fijian dances starring the country’s famed firewalkers. Some of the more unusual attractions are located just out of town. Some 2,000 varieties of orchids are in bloom at Raymond Burr’s popular Garden of the Sleeping Giant, while Fiji’s ancient history is on view in the archaeological digs at the 1,600-acre Sigatoka Sand Dunes National Park. Boaters can choose from heaps of small craft at the marina, which head out to tiny islands such as Beachcomber or Tivua. Here, visitors can dive, snorkel, sail Hobie Cats, swim, luxuriate with a massage, or just laze on the beach. After all that sun, one of the best ways to cool off — and squeeze in a little retail therapy — is to pay a visit to the

Suva The bustling capital of Fiji reminds you that the world is still turning even while you’re on holiday. Historic colonial buildings mix with modern architecture in a multicultural city that is full of the sights, sounds and smells of the South Seas. Window shoppers can ogle everything from spices and local produce to Indian saris and electronics. Be sure to book early for the popular shore tours. These can take you to the steamy jungle for a hike or zip-line thrill ride, or to a Fijian village for dancing and a kava ceremony. Molituva Village offers the opportunity to take photos of the warriors as they perform a traditional meke dance — or to venture to Pacific Harbour for the traditional firewalking performed by the legendary Beqa warriors. New Caledonia Pace yourself. The breathtaking sight of this archipelago glinting in the Pacific is just the opening act. The main event starts when you step on shore to sample French delicacies in NoumĂŠa and ancient Melanesian culture in tiny villages. New Caledonia's beaches are total scene-stealers, and the grandest of finales takes place underwater: exploring the New Caledonia Barrier Reef, the second-

Nouméa Pacific Riviera A little bit of France on the other side of the world adds to the charm of this delightful port. Nouméa has a distinctly Gallic feel; beach names are French and the shopping and dining scenes have a Continental flair. Don’t be afraid to try out your rusty high school French when shopping along Place des Cocotiers; the friendly locals will probably appreciate your efforts. Highlights of any visit include an outing to the Amédée Island lighthouse and a stop at the Jean-Marie Tjibaou Cultural Centre, which is dedicated to Kanak art and culture. The Kanak are New Caledonia’s indigenous people and still make up more than 40 percent of the population. Islanders enjoy a hedonistic beach culture, so there’s plenty to do out on the water — jet skiing, windsurfing, snorkeling — and plenty not to do if you just feel like sunbathing the day away. The quaint Tchou Tchou Train might look like kids’ stuff, but it’s a fun and easy way to see the town or get to the beaches at Anse Vataor Baie des Citrons. Rising above it all is 420-foot Mount Ouen Toro, which affords stunning views of Nouméa.

Polynesia This is the place many think of when dreaming of idyllic getaways. British explorers and French colonialists left their mark, but French Polynesia has retained its Edenic aura even as civilization catches up. Five archipelagoes of 118 islands make up French Polynesia, which is about 2,700 miles south of Hawaii. They offer a diverse landscape of rugged mountains and serene beaches. The ports of Polynesia’s Society Islands offer some of the most memorable stops in an unforgettable journey.

Bora Bora Capturing hearts

James Michener called Bora Bora “the world’s most beautiful island,” and the island bills itself as “the world’s most romantic.” Both claims are hard to argue with. Here is a dream landscape of luscious beaches and jungle-carpeted hills surrounded by a shimmering lagoon and protected from the open ocean by a barrier reef; divers, snorkelers and other aquatic fans find their hearts’ desire fulfilled. A drive through the interior treats visitors to gorgeous scenes, including a panoramic view of the beach from atop Pahonu Hill. Bora Bora’s intimate isolation has made it a favorite escape for the rich and famous and anyone else seeking a world away from modern life. Moorea

Living the dream Legend says the island derives its name, which means “yellow lizard,” from a priestess’ dream, which is in keeping with the dreamlike atmosphere the island exudes; breathtaking views aren't in short supply. Waterfalls and warm ocean waters await. Besides enjoying the usual aquatic sports — boating, sailing, paragliding, diving and snorkeling — Moorea offers excellent dolphin- watching opportunities. Moorea is known for growing stunning pearls, and some of the Pacific’s finest weavers and woodworkers pursue their artistry here. The land holds ready-to-eat pineapples and other tropical fruits from the island’s plantations. You can take in much of this gorgeous land with a trip to Belvedere Lookout atop Mt. Rotui.

ABOVE: A stingray glides among colorful fish in a Bora Bora lagoon. BELOW: A waterfall sparkles in Tahiti.

Tahiti

Exotic escape

Just across a lagoon from Moorea is Tahiti, the most famous of French Polynesia’s islands. Its capital, Papeete, is one of the region’s more cosmopolitan spots, but Tahiti’s sensual natural beauty is not far away. Here the waterfalls, rivers, mountains and valleys are as beautiful as you’ve heard. They’ve helped to make Tahiti a muse to artists such as Paul Gauguin and Henri Matisse, and lured the mutinous crew of HMS Bounty — as well as writer James Norman Hall, who co-authored a trilogy of historical novels about that naval tragedy. Hall’s and Gauguin’s homes are now museums. Other historical and cultural artifacts are displayed at the Museum of Tahiti, while a kind of living history is on view at Point Venus, an anchorage used by famed explorer Captain James Cook and Bounty’s infamous commander, Captain William Bligh.

The Samoan Islands “Talofa” (tah-low-fah) is how you say "Hello" in Samoan. You will probably be greeted like this several times during your stay here, for Samoans are famously friendly to visitors. The landscape welcomes you as well, with views of steep volcanic mountains and unspoiled tropical rainforest. The Samoan Islands are comprised of two separate entities: American Samoa, an unincorporated U.S. territory on the island of Upolu; and Western Samoa, which has been formally called Samoa since winning independence from New Zealand in 1962. The people of both states share a strong belief in Fa’a Samoa: the Samoan Way, which places family, faith and community above all else.

Apia

Gateway to greatness As the capital, Apia is home to about a quarter of Western Samoa’s population, who maintain a bustling little city on the island of Upolu. The downtown is a mix of shopping, government buildings and commercial offices, but the rest of the island boasts white-sand beaches and a lush interior rainforest marked by sparkling waterfalls. Westerners drawn to Apia have included Treasure Island author Robert Louis Stevenson, whose home is a museum. The markets proffer fresh fruit and handcrafted items created by local artisans. The scenery is especially beautiful at National Park, a popular hiking spot that shelters 42 different species of birds. On Mulinuu Peninsula lie the burial grounds of Samoa’s former kings, as well as the Apia Observatory and the nation’s Parliament building.

Pago Pago Rugged splendor

The capital of American Samoa, Pago Pago is the home of Mount Pioa, known as “the rainmaker” because of the moisture-bearing clouds it attracts. Here, the tranquil village atmosphere and warm hospitality are matched by the landscape — perhaps most memorably, the harbor created of volcanic rock. Much of Pago Pago was formed this way, but there is only the rugged splendor of these mountains to contend with; all volcanoes have been inactive for more than a century. Somerset Maugham use d Pag o Pag o as the set ting for set his classic short story, “Rain,” and nowhere else is natural beauty more wor thy of such immor talit y. The islands are protective of their looks; building-height limits are strictly enforced to keep the view unobstructed. As in all of the South Pacific, islanders here are proud of their heritage, and showcase it to visitors with museums and authentic Samoan villages. One cultural pursuit they’re happy to demonstrate is pigeon-catching, a favorite Samoan sport for centuries.

South Pacific

Tonga

Captain James Cook dubbed Tonga “the Friendly Islands” when he happened upon them in the late 1700s, and Tongans live up to that reputation. Islanders are happy to show why they call their home “the true South Pacific.” Tonga is comprised of 176 islands and is ruled by the only monarchy in the South Pacific. Protected coves and lagoons put sailing and diving among the popular pastimes, and from June through November it’s a prime spot for observing humpback whales’ migration.

Nuku’Alofa Garden of delight. Tonga’s capital city is located on the island of Tongatapu, which means “sacred garden” in the Tongan language. island and capital are the nation’s center of commerce and government, and the royal residence sits elegantly on the waterfront. Snorkeling, sailing and surfing are the main events here, and the island’s famous blowholes — rock formations that spew water as high as 30 feet — are among the can’t-miss sights. Cultural attractions offer their own adventures on land. Ancient Tongan history includes the Langi (terraced tombs) of the Tongan kings, while more-recent sites include the landing sites of Cook and his fellow explorer, Abel Tasman, for whom the Australian state Tasmania was named. The kingdom’s heritage, including remains of Tonga’s original rulers, is detailed at Lapaha, an historic village and at the Tongan National Center, which offers a large collection of island art, performances of traditional dance and demonstrations of folk arts. Tongan crafts include textile works such as tapa, an elaborately patterned cloth made from the beaten stem of the mulberry tree. Possessing tapa is traditionally considered a sign of wealth. Also popular are finely detailed bone and woodcarvings, baskets, and pandanus — woven mats created with centuries-old skills. Crafts are sold at the Talamahu market, along with local fruit.

CRUISE WESTERN AUSTRALIA... W

estern Australia is one of the world’s largest states, with an incredibly diverse coastline stretching over 20,000 km. A cruise of Western Australia brings you to the nation’s sunniest capital city, whitest beach and one of the most biodiverse landscapes on Earth. It’s also where you’ll find some of the world’s premium wine regions, forests of timber giants, one of the oldest surviving cultures and incredible marine encounters. To the west are the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, with the Timor Sea in the north and the Southern Ocean in the south. The capital city of Perth sits on the banks of the Swan River, bathed in sunshine for an average of 8 hours a day, with 131 clear days per year. So, however you choose to sample it, chances are there’ll be endless blue skies overhead.

EXMOUTH

Western Australia is home to plenty of extraordinary experiences, boasting the largest collection of wildflowers on the planet and one of only a few places worldwide where you can swim with the ocean’s largest fish. Here you can also witness a breathtaking natural phenomenon known as the Staircase to the Moon. Caused by the rising of the full moon reflecting off the exposed mudflats at extremely low tide - a beautiful optical illusion of stairs reaching to the moon is created. It can be viewed at certain points along the coastline including the port towns of Broome and Port Hedland.

The tropical pearling port of Broome has been buzzing with celebrities including Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom, Kris and Kendall Jenner from Keeping up with the Kardashians, Jerry Hall, Missy Higgins and Ewan McGregor to name a few. The World Heritage listed Ningaloo Reef welcomed second man on the moon, Buzz Aldrin to swim with the whale sharks.

Extraordinary places attract extraordinary people, and in recent times Western Australia has attracted some high profile followers.

Creating an extraordinary cruise itinerary requires some extraordinary experiences, and in Western Australia you will find them just a few minutes from every port.

Port Hedland sits at the heart of a region that’s as rich in Indigenous culture and history as it is natural wonders. As a bustling Indian Ocean port, Port Hedland is home to enormous ships and huge trains. Visitors can explore the awardwinning Cultural and Heritage Trail, mapping out the early times of European settlement or visit the Don Rhodes Open Air Train Museum.
