The Foundation
The Gloria Kriete Foundation, established in December 2004 at the initiative of Doña Gloria’s seven children, is a non-profit organization primarily created to perpetuate the memory of Doña Gloria and to instill in future generations the altruistic spirit with which she lived.
Over the last 19 years, the Gloria Kriete Foundation has impacted over 3.2 million Salvadorans in the areas of health, education, employability, community development, entrepreneurship, technology, innovation, and the environment.
We believe that all human beings deserve to access tools that allow them to have equal opportunities and thus change their own living conditions and those of their surroundings.
Mission
To be a Foundation, sustainable through many generations, that dreams and works towards the creation of a more solidary society, committed to the holistic development of the less fortunate.
Purpose
Vision
To be a reference Foundation that promotes the spirit of service and solidarity, leading by example, developing its own projects and supporting organizations committed to the welfare and improvement of the Salvadoran family.

Roberto Kriete
President Gloria Kriete Foundation
As profound social challenges demand that we find ways to mobilize our resources; seeking effective long-term solutions, I can say that we have found the right path with a collaborative and strategic approach.
The shared understanding of key issues and success indicators of this approach has allowed us to make the right social investments to improve the quality of life for people in vulnerable situations.
We are facing a paradigm shift that could greatly improve how we address the world’s toughest challenges. Stakeholders across all sectors in society are breaking away from their historically defined roles, merging profits and social impact to forge new paths, all for the benefit of people.
SOCIAL INVESTMENT: A MORE SUSTAINABLE AND EQUITABLE FUTURE FOR ALL
I have no doubt that society benefits most when all parties work together and when the economic and social contribution that charities non-profits, and ADESCOS represent is recognized.
I am very pleased with the results of this year. Our permanent programs Helping Those Who Help, Oportunidades, and TuChance are evolving and innovating. The programs we support have also grown with the support of our team.
Thanks to all the people who are part of the foundation. Every one of you is important in the impact we generate throughout the country. I am grateful to our strategic and financial allies who see our institution as a partner in their intentions and desire to be a catalyst for change. Thanks to the social organizations and operational partners who, in the quest for solutions, have managed to shape solid projects to contribute to the sustainable and equitable development of El Salvador.
Juana Jule
Executive Director Gloria Kriete Foundation
It’s the era of innovation. The world is undergoing unprecedented constant transformation, and we are approaching a critical moment: if we learn to leverage innovation as a means and not as an end, we can transform the world into a more just and empathetic place.
In the philanthropic sector, social innovation has more to do with defining problems and seeking new solutions in an effective, efficient, and sustainable manner.
At the Gloria Kriete Foundation, we have chosen to generate new social innovation processes. We highlight educational innovation in our programs, prioritizing the advancement in digital transformation so that all people have access to educational tools that allow them to have a better future through our TuChance platform.
BUILDING A SOCIAL ECOSYSTEM BASED ON INNOVATION
In Oportunidades, along with our partners, we have created a curriculum that allows us to equip young people with skills and competencies that prepare them for the future through innovative teaching and learning methodologies and the use of disruptive technology.
The essence of social innovation lies in a process that seeks to identify specific needs and offer concrete solutions that can prove their effectiveness, thus allowing for replication once proven. With Helping Those Who Help, we manage to finance and provide tools that help organizations strengthen their ability to generate impact.
All permanent programs and those that we support in different social sectors, are initiatives that are making a difference in the lives of countless people.
I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated staff members for their hard work and commitment. To our partners who share the same goal with us, your support propels us forward and enables us to go further!

Testimonials
Douglas Juárez
Class 2018, San Salvador Full-Time Modality
Douglas recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business, MAGNA CUM LAUDE. He was a student of the Oportunidades program from the Class of 2018, San Salvador Fulltime. Currently, he works as a monitoring analyst at the National Commission of Digital Assets, a government entity that oversees an efficient market in the world of tokenization and cryptocurrencies. Reaching this point in his life has been the result of a multiyear effort from his family, consisting of his mother and brother, who provided him with unwavering support to pursue a higher education degree. The additional value that the Oportunidades Program from the Gloria Kriete Foundation gave him has been fundamental as it reinforced subjects such as computer science or mathematics and enhanced English skills, which eventually led him to obtain a scholarship at the Higher Institute of Economics and Business (ESEN) from which he graduated a few years back.
Katherine Membreño

Katherine is a young graduate of Dr. José Matías Delgado University. She is currently a market research project analyst, which has allowed her to achieve merits and successes in her life, learning to believe in herself, even when family and economic circumstances were unfavorable. She acknowledges that she has not always obtained everything she wanted, but she values the experiences, good and bad, that have helped her grow personally. She takes pride in her story for never giving up and for having the determination to move forward despite obstacles. She has managed to study abroad thanks to the support of the Oportunidades Program and has developed the ability to empathize with others. She recently started studying her second degree, which has allowed her to start a professional life full of learning.

Being one of the supported projects by “Helping those who help” has significantly contributed to improving the lives and competencies of the vulnerable population in our community. As a young entrepreneur, being part of the winning projects has allowed me to envision the direction of FUNGIPI with greater focus, integrating the knowledge and benefits of the program. FUNGIPI will continue developing by modifying and adjusting the administrative, legal, and production structures, not only in a commercial aspect but to also benefit Salvadoran society.
We will start by registering the company and obtaining the necessary permits, while simultaneously offering the products coming from the modified production space.

Kevin, upon entering Kodigo, said he would never want to go back to another sector. He mentions that it is a wonderful and challenging area, with many hours of effort and dedication to eventually enjoy a satisfactory result. Kevin believes that it is one of the best decisions one can make in their professional life and that it will also affect them personally. He recalls genuinely wanting to solidify the small concepts he had about programming previously and remembers hearing about Kodigo through the Gloria Kriete Foundation, subsequently enrolling in it and saying he found the love for programming. Through this program, Kevin achieved something that companies seek; he created a “relevant profile” which allowed him to position himself in the job market.
Daniel Palacios

Daniel affirms that he feels enthusiastic about the progress he’s made in his life plan and for the newfound confidence to join the labor market. He mentions feeling very supported by the program and in his learning. He does his best to put his knowledge into practice since he knows that’s how one improves and develops skills. Many see programming as something that only a few people can achieve, and he believes that it is not true. He comments that you start with small steps until you reach the top, being aware that he is a beginner, but gradually making progress is very significant for him, and that is what is important.
It was founded in October 2005 at the Benjamin Bloom National Children’s Hospital. This program focuses on providing therapeutic care through playful interventions to infants and adolescents hospitalized for various reasons. Additionally, it includes a permanent training project for medical and nursing staff. With a multidisciplinary team covering 13 medical specialties, the Ludoteca focuses on emotional recovery, care in critical states, and palliative care, establishing itself as a reference in the comprehensive care of pediatric patients in El Salvador.
