LA FUNDACIÓN

La Fundación Gloria Kriete, constituida en diciembre de 2004 por iniciativa de los siete hijos de Doña Gloria, es una organización sin fines de lucro, que nace principalmente para perpetuar la memoria de Doña Gloria y trascender en las nuevas generaciones el espíritu altruista con el cual ella vivió.

Durante estos 18 años, en la Fundación Gloria Kriete hemos impactado a más de 3,200,000 de salvadoreños en salud, educación, formación para el empleo, desarrollo comunitario, emprendimiento, tecnología, innovación y medio ambiente. En la Fundación creemos que todos los seres humanos merecen las herramientas para luchar en igualdad de oportunidades y así cambiar su condición de vida y la de su entorno.

Ser una fundación familiar sostenible a través de las generaciones, que sueña y trabaja en la construcción de una sociedad más solidaria, comprometida con el desarrollo integral de los más necesitados.

Ser una fundación modelo, que promueve el espíritu de servicio y solidaridad con el ejemplo, desarrollando proyectos propios y apoyando a organizaciones comprometidas con el bienestar y superación de la familia salvadoreña.

2022: Un año de transformación para Fundación Gloria Kriete

En el 2004 junto a mis hermanos decidimos iniciar la Fundación, sabíamos que teníamos el compromiso de contribuir a encontrar la solución de muchos de los problemas que aún siguen vigentes en nuestro país, como la pobreza, la desigualdad social, la educación, la salud y muchos más.

El legado familiar ha evolucionado, con el objetivo de incrementar su impacto e implicar a las diferentes generaciones. A través de nuestros programas hemos ido año con año descubriendo que la filantropía va más allá del otorgamiento de fondos económicos, hemos comprendido que es necesario también aportar

herramientas y acompañamiento que garanticen una gestión profesional y la sostenibilidad de sus proyectos. Desde Fundación Gloria Kriete, tenemos la misión de poner nuestras capacidades a disposición de todas las organizaciones, personas, empresas para que logren cumplir sus objetivos sociales y ofrecer de esta forma nuevos enfoques a los problemas que buscamos solucionar juntos.

Nos sentimos honrados de que hasta este año hemos logrado transformar la vida de más de 3,200,000 de salvadoreños en salud, educación, formación para el empleo, desarrollo comunitario, emprendimiento, tecnología, innovación y medio ambiente a través de proyectos sostenibles, que han logrado conseguir un cambio eficaz y eficiente.

Me siento muy contento de todo lo que hemos logrado en este año, agradezco de forma muy especial a todo el equipo de la Fundación, el éxito que hemos tenido se debe a ustedes, a su trabajo y dedicación, a las empresas privadas y organizaciones aliadas que nos apoyan, sabemos que no todas las personas tienen las mismas oportunidades, sin embargo, los resultados nos indican que con el trabajo que estamos haciendo juntos podemos hacer realidad nuestro deseo de cambiar o mejorar la vida de la gente de nuestras comunidades y de todo el país.

Un año de innovación social

En el 2022 nuestro enfoque ha sido la innovación social, hemos creado soluciones estratégicas para nuestros programas en educación, formación para el empleo, trabajo colaborativo y empleabilidad, pensando siempre en cómo brindamos herramientas para al desarrollo de cada persona.

La celebración de nuestro 15° aniversario del programa Oportunidades, fue un hito muy especial. Volvimos a ver jóvenes de todas las promociones, ahora profesionales en todo el país. Recordamos de dónde venimos, y compartimos hacia dónde vamos. Con mucho entusiasmo hemos desarrollado nuestras rutas de aprendizaje, buscando que sea experiencial, relacional e inclusivo. De la mano de diferentes organizaciones, estamos formando a jóvenes desde Ahuachapán hasta La Unión. ¡Llevamos a la fecha, 3,987 jóvenes salvadoreños, y sabemos que joven a joven, estamos formando Ciudadanos Oportunidades!

Hemos continuado trabajando también en la consolidación de Tu Chance, nuestra Zona Digital FGK. A través de la digitalización estamos rompiendo las barreras geográficas y económicas y, estamos abriendo camino para acercar opciones de formación, capacitación, educación y empleabilidad. Esperamos ser un puente entre cada salvadoreño que quiera aprender y el sector privado, que oferte opciones laborales.

Con el programa Ayudando a Quienes Ayudan y su modelo de inversión social colectiva, hemos apoyado y acompañado, a 37 organizaciones, en todas las etapas de la ejecución de sus proyectos. Dichos proyectos abordan problemáticas reales de pavimentación de calles, casas comunales, agua potable, letrinas y seguridad alimentaria, entre otras. Hicimos, además, una prueba piloto, muy satisfactoria, con la formación de ADESCOS, para que puedan gestionar sus proyectos, con mayor impacto. Dentro del ecosistema de apoyo al emprendimiento social, lanzamos el programa de Incubadora Empresarial, con el cual formamos, y conectamos a quienes buscan generar un impacto positivo.

Seguimos, también trabajando junto a Kodigo para formar a jóvenes en el sector tecnológico, apoyando a programas como Ludoteca Naves Hospitalaria Gloria Kriete, Fundación Forja, al programa Onuva Talitha Kumi y trabajando junto a AGAPE con el Programa de Salud Rural Integral (PROSARIN) y el programa Aprendamos Juntos.

Agradezco a todo el equipo de la fundación, organizaciones y empresas aliadas, por su dedicación, pasión y entrega, para el desarrollo de herramientas que transforman vidas.

La Fundación Gloria Kriete cree que con esfuerzos compartidos podemos llegar más lejos, alcanzar a más personas, impactar mayor cantidad de vidas, de familias y de comunidades. ENCUENTRO REGIONAL AFLATOUN

Fundación Gloria Kriete, a través del pilar de Educación, participó en el encuentro regional de Aflatoun, una red de Educación Financiera a nivel global, además se participó en una sesión de preguntas y respuestas sobre el rumbo estratégico de la red de Educación Social y Financiera en la región de Latinoamérica como participantes activos de la red.

WESPARK

Firma de carta de entendimiento entre FGK y weSpark para trabajo colaborativo en beneficio de la educacion de los jóvenes. weSpark se enfoca en el diseño y ejecución de métodos de innovación de alto impacto, extraordinarios y centrados en el ser humano, ofrecen metodologías innovadoras, su contribución a la investigación teórica y empírica de la gestión de la innovación y su compromiso con los proyectos sociales; en especial, para aumentar la calidad de la educación a nivel mundial, es uno de sus objetivos. Nelson Inno fundador y Ceo, firmó una carta de entendimiento con la Fundación, que permite seguir desarrollando trabajo colaborativo en beneficio de la educación de los jóvenes, tal como lo fue el proyecto Oportunidad-X, la primera escuela científica metaverso en Marte.

ALIANZA PARA EL CRECIMIENTO DIGITAL

Fundación Gloria Kriete, Grupo Gurús, y Comercializadora de Tecnología, firmaron un convenio de cooperación que nace con el objetivo de desarrollar iniciativas de investigación e implementación de proyectos que promuevan el progreso social y económico del Triángulo Norte a través del fomento de los campos de la Tecnología y la Innovación Digital. Con la firma de este convenio se buscan el fomento e intercambio de conocimientos y seguir contribuyendo al ecosistema de la innovación social.

La Fundación Gloria Kriete cree firmemente que la educación transforma vidas, por eso este año se patrocinó la Feria CIMAT y se otorgaron 5 becas para Educación Superior para igual número de jóvenes.

PATROCINIO AL DEPORTE JUNTO A FESA EL SALVADOR

La Fundación Gloria Kriete patrocinó los premios “Promesa del Año” de FESA, el cual consiste en dar un incentivo a los 2 deportistas que tuvieron mejores resultados a lo largo del año 2022. Los ganadores fueron seleccionados de entre los mejores deportistas promesas de las más de 30 disciplinas premiadas en la Espiga Dorada y fueron elegidos a través de una votación de un panel de 35 personas entre periodistas y personas relacionadas al deporte.

CONEXIONES PARA EL EMPLEO

En septiembre se desarrolló el evento “Conexiones para el empleo”, cuyo propósito fue abrir espacios de conversación con representantes del sector privado, de la Organización Internacional para el Empleo (OIT), USAID, jóvenes oportunidades y del resto de programas atendidos por FGK, para analizar la situación del empleo juvenil en El Salvador y la percepción de la población joven frente a las grandes demandas del sector privado.

PARTICIPACIÓN EN FOROS REGIONALES

El pilar de formación para el empleo de FGK forma parte de la coordinación de los Foros Regionales: “Aprendizajes en Empleo y Emprendimiento Juvenil” en el cual participan socias y socios claves en el desarrollo de acciones en favor de las juventudes de El Salvador, Guatemala y Perú.

ALIANZA CON LA ORGANIZACIÓN

INTERNACIONAL PARA LAS MIGRACIONES

En alianza con la Organización Internacional para las Migraciones (OIM), se impartieron cuatro jornadas de concientización a 600 jóvenes de los programas permanentes de FGK, con el objetivo de prevenirles sobre los riesgos de la migración irregular.

METODOLOGÍAS ÁGILES PARA EL EMPLEO

Como parte de las actividades del pilar de formación para el empleo se desarrollaron los “Talent Match by FGK” para nuestros programas Oportunidades, Kódigo y ONUVA, más de 100 jóvenes fueron fortalecidos a través de esta metodología que busca generar un espacio para el posicionamiento del talento joven en el mundo del trabajo, pretendiendo conectar a los participantes con las empresas y sus expectativas.

PROGRAMAS

Hace 18 años nace la FGK, y a partir de ese momento se comienzan a crear programas pensados en apalancar a otras instituciones que ya estaban trabajando por las necesidades sociales, o crear alianzas estratégicas con Fundaciones afines y financiar proyectos de una manera permanente. Es así como a la fecha se trabaja directamente con 9 programas.

Programa Oportunidades

El Programa Oportunidades nace en 2007 con el objetivo de transformar a la juventud salvadoreña brindando herramientas para que cada joven cambie su vida a través del esfuerzo y con esto transforme su entorno y su país.

Oportunidades ha creado una filosofía única que no solo se basa en conocimiento técnico, sino que incluye habilidades blandas para su desarrollo personal, se cuenta con una currícula innovadora con temas de tendencia tecnológica y adaptadas al mundo actual, convirtiéndose en el único programa de excelencia académica y formación integral acompañando a los jóvenes en 3 fases.

Alianza con USAID

El 2022 se cerró el año 2 del convenio con USAID teniendo una ejecución del 89.77% del presupuesto asignado, comenzando en este mismo año el 3er año de la alianza que logrará más de 2,155 jóvenes beneficiados.

Feria de logros CONOCE MÁS ACERCA DE USAID

En 2022 con un enfoque en la tecnología e innovación como eje transversal para desarrollar carreras STEAM, se tuvieron proyectos de modelado en impresiones 3D, robótica, y más, creándose proyectos innovadores que ayudaron a los jóvenes a pensar fuera de la caja y fortalecer sus habilidades en temas de tendencia y poder mostrarlos en la feria de logros académicos.

Fortalecimiento en tecnología

Alineados con el enfoque tecnológico se fortaleció al equipo docente y también a grupos de jóvenes a través de los talleres desarrollados por nuestro aliado WeSpark sobre habilidades del innovador y creación rápida de entornos en metaverso.

Formación ciudadana y liderazgo

En el marco de formación ciudadana y liderazgo, los jóvenes adquieren e implementan habilidades de liderazgo ciudadano a través del servicio comunitario en más de 112 tipos de voluntariados y también emulando al Gobierno Estudiantil de cada centro educativo.

ExpoU

410 jóvenes participaron de las Expo U realizadas en las diversas sedes, en ambas modalidades. Este espacio permitió que los jóvenes conocieran la oferta académica de más de 15 universidades aliadas del Programa a nivel nacional. De estos jóvenes, el 61% optó por una carrera en el área STEAM.

Change Management en entornos BANI

Con el objetivo de fortalecer la articulación entre organizaciones que trabajan en favor del empleo juvenil en El Salvador, la fase de intermediación laboral, desarrolló un almuerzo con 64 líderes y actores clave de diferentes instancias. Como parte de la agenda, ADEN Business School impartió la conferencia “Change Management en entornos BANI”, a través de la cual, logramos analizar y entender los desafíos que el sector privado enfrenta en el actual escenario; esta información será clave para la actualización de nuestros planes formativos que involucran el desarrollo de competencias para el empleo.

El programa Oportunidades cumplió 15 años y para celebrarlo se realizaron una serie de encuentros con todos los alumnos activos de los centros de capacitación, así como también con los ex alumnos, a través de conversatorios se revivió momentos y experiencias que hacen del programa un éxito en la vida de cada joven que forma parte de el.

Todo inicia en el año 2013, estaba en primer año de bachillerato Técnico Vocacional, donde se nos solicitó a algunos alumnos iniciar el proceso de admisión para ingresar a la Fundación. Fueron dos años donde conocí muchas personas, donde me relacioné mucho y donde tuve que aprender por primera vez, que siempre hay alguien que da un poco más la milla extra que tú. Siete años después de graduarme, soy Ingeniera Industrial, actualmente soy Analista Omnicanalidad de Empresas en una multinacional, donde se reconoce mi esfuerzo y mi valor, no sólo como profesional, sino también como persona. La fundación significó y significa un pilar fundamental de mi formación, sin duda, la educación es el mayor tesoro que tendré el resto de mi vida.

Daniel Alvarado

Me llamo Daniel Alvarado y soy un ciudadano Oportunidades. Estudié en el programa de Fundación Gloria de Kriete de 2015 a 2017, donde reforzaron mis conocimientos académicos, así como mis habilidades blandas y de liderazgo. De profesión, soy Ingeniero de Negocios, graduado de la ESEN, con honores. En mi etapa como universitario, pertenecí a dos asociaciones estudiantiles, ProBecas ESEN y Future ESEN, con el objetivo de ayudar a los demás y devolverle a la sociedad un poquito de todo lo que recibí. Además, fui instructor de cátedra de materias como Matemáticas, Cálculo para Ingenieros, Gestión de Operaciones, entre otros, con el fin de ayudar a otros estudiantes a nivelar sus conocimientos en los cursos. Actualmente, trabajo como analista de base home en Tigo El Salvador. En mi día a día, soy el encargado de monitorear las iniciativas y performance de los diferentes canales del negocio de Tigo. Mi objetivo de vida es poder transformar mi comunidad y ayudar a más jóvenes a cambiar, en primer lugar, su situación socioeconómica, y segundo, a que sigan contribuyendo con un impacto positivo en la sociedad.

Programa Ayudando A Quienes Ayudan

Ayudando A Quienes Ayudan es un programa cuyo objetivo principal es crear una sólida red de apoyo entre personas, fundaciones o instituciones que buscan promover un impacto social positivo en El Salvador con el fin de mejorar las condiciones de vida de la población salvadoreña.

El modelo de este programa es crear un impacto colectivo para el desarrollo humano y social en 3 grandes áreas estratégicas: Organizaciones sin fines de lucro, desarrollo comunitario y emprendedores sociales.

Graduación Incubadora Empresarial

Iniciativa de formación por medio de una metodología de incubación online de renombre internacional combinada con asesorías personalizadas por mentores expertos.

Los becarios recibieron 16 semanas de incubación y cursaron 8 módulos con temas diversos para estructurar un modelo de negocio con enfoque social. Temas como: Propuesta de valor, Plan de Marketing y precios, Plan financiero y de crecimiento, entre otros. Paralelamente recibieron asesoría personalizada con un mentor experto que de forma semanal les permitió consolidar su modelo de negocio.

Graduaciones de Cursos de Liderazgo Comunitario en Zona Occidental y Oriental

El eje principal del curso es la formación y fortalecimiento de capacidades de líderes y lideresas de las comunidades, con enfoque en la gestión de proyectos sociales.

Se formaron personas de 23 ADESCOS:

▷ 16 ADESCOS de la zona oriental formados en alianza con PADECOMSM.

▷ 7 ADESCOS de la zona occidental formados con la metodología de Fortas-Fusades.

Al final del proceso formativo 51 personas recibieron su diploma de graduación.

Libro de trabajo - Nueva Estrategia Formativa

Gracias a la alianza establecida con PADECOMSM y con el apoyo de la dinamizadora comunal NODOS se publicó la primera edición del libro de trabajo “Cómo diseñar Proyectos Sociales y no fallar en el intento”.

Un libro diseñado para ADESCOS que le permitirá de forma sencilla:

▷ Facilitar a la comunidad el mapeo de los problemas a resolver.

▷ Estructurar el diseño del proyecto social con el fin de aplicar a nuestros fondos de otorgamiento y/o otros fondos de cooperación.

Quiero iniciar con esta frase: “La raíz de todo bien, crece en la tierra de la gratitud”. No todo fue fácil, pero al final el esfuerzo valió la pena, la colaboración de todos fue fundamental, para mí saber que una Fundación creyó en nosotros, fue un logro muy importante, fue un sueño hecho realidad. Finalizamos el proyecto en dos meses, sabemos que en nuestra comunidad se escribió una historia y algo que siempre digo es que el trabajar por los demás es una satisfacción que queda en nuestro interior y nadie nos la puede quitar.

El Programa TuChance reúne las Plataformas Digitales de la Fundación Gloria Kriete, y ahora se transforma en la Zona Digital FGK con el propósito de incursionar en el uso de la tecnología para reducir las distintas brechas sociales, trabajando de la mano con socios estratégicos con alta trayectoria internacional que ofrecen plataformas de primer nivel y de uso gratuito que estimulan el aprendizaje, desarrollo profesional y la empleabilidad.

La Fundación Gloria Kriete (FGK) y Vision Education establecieron una alianza para que los salvadoreños puedan accesar de forma gratuita a LearnMatch una aplicación móvil con la que cualquier persona puede aprender de forma gratuita y desde el nivel en que se encuentre, idiomas tales como: inglés, español, alemán, francés, italiano japonés o portugués.

Esta aplicación convierte el aprendizaje de idiomas en toda una experiencia de diversión, mediante juegos temáticos e interacción social sin límites.

Alianza con Digisalud y Evento para promover la plataforma

Fundación Gloria Kriete realizó evento “Conozcamos Digisalud” para promover plataforma gratuita enfocada en atención médica integral. La alianza DigiSalud y FGK fue firmada el 28 de abril de este año, el acuerdo permite continuar con la difusión e implementación de DigiSalud en El Salvador.

FGK ha implementado Digisalud en las clínicas de Prosarin, atendiendo poblaciones costeras de los departamentos de Ahuachapán y Sonsonate y a partir de este año en la Clínica de ONUVA para las comunidades de las faldas del volcán en San Salvador. La experiencia en ambos proyectos nos permitió promover la plataforma y ofrecerla gratuitamente a otras organizaciones que puedan estar interesados en implementarla.

Kodigo

Kodigo es un emprendimiento social que busca acelerar el aprendizaje y desarrollar el pensamiento creativo en tecnología de la juventud, ayudando a la inserción laboral a través de un programa de formación de 3 a 6 meses, con un modelo de financiación llamado Acuerdo de Ingresos Compartidos (AIC) en el que el estudiante no paga hasta obtener un empleo.

Asimismo, Kodigo trabaja de la mano con empresas tecnológicas ofreciendo oportunidades de co-crear programas de capacitación profesional para solventar necesidades ad-hoc junto con oportunidades de pasantías y proyectos de responsabilidad social empresarial a través de becas y programas de apadrinamiento.

Entrega de Becas OIM

En alianza con USAID El Salvador, la Organización Internacional para las Migraciones (OIM El Salvador) y el Laboratorio de Innovación del Grupo BID (BID Lab), entregaron medias becas a un grupo de 36 jóvenes para capacitarse como Desarrolladores Web Full Stack Junior. La iniciativa buscó contribuir al bienestar social de personas migrantes retornadas o en riesgo de migración, mediante un programa intensivo de seis meses que potencia el desarrollo de habilidades blandas, creatividad, solución de problemas y buen manejo del tiempo. El programa culmina con la colocación de los becarios en empleos formales en tecnología como Analista Programador Jr, Full Stack Java Developer o Desarrollador de Software Jr.

Geek Show fue un evento de innovación y empleabilidad organizado junto a Impact Hub y el BID Lab que buscó vincular a nuevos talentos en tecnología con empresas empleadoras, así como articular emprendedores con aliados tales como empresas privadas e inversionistas para permitir un crecimiento importante de sus start ups. Durante los 3 días del evento se realizó una Hackathon de Innovación y la feria de empleo tecnológica “Geek Jobs”, dando como resultado la asistencia de más de 700 jóvenes de todo el país que presentaron sus ideas de innovación y conocieron oportunidades de crecimiento profesional en el área tecnológica y digital.

Graduaciones

Kodigo, Academia de Tecnología Creativa, graduó a más de 300 jóvenes, incluyendo 55 mujeres, como desarrolladores de software, proyecto que se realizó con el apoyo del Laboratorio de Innovación del Grupo BID. Con este logro Kodigo cierra el 2022 con más de 850 jóvenes beneficiados por el programa “Kod1ficando para mejorar vidas”, que comenzó en abril de 2021. Los estudiantes recibieron una capacitación intensiva en bootcamps de programación durante 3 a 6 meses para posteriormente ser incorporados a un programa de empleabilidad que los vincula laboralmente con importantes empresas del sector tecnológico para formar parte de sus equipos de trabajo.

Programa de Salud Rural Integral

Está orientado para prevenir, educar y curar a las personas de comunidades rurales de escasos recursos de Sonsonate, Ahuachapán y La Unión; las modalidades de ayuda son:

▶ Visitas a los hogares de familias con mayor riesgo para prevenir enfermedades a través de vacunar niños, evaluar a las personas con discapacidad y atender enfermedades crónicas degenerativas de adultos mayores, orientando entre otras cosas acerca de la eliminación y control de vectores transmisores de enfermedades.

▶ Atención de personas en dispensarios de salud en forma programada. La atención incluye curación de heridas, retiros de puntos, toma de comburt test, hemoglucotest, pruebas de embarazo, etc.

Raúl Iván Sánchez Rivera, paciente Prosarin y alumno de Aprendamos Juntos en Comunidad Las Higueras, Cantón de Izalco, Sonsonate. Promotora de Salud Responsable: Ana Lilian González

Graciela contó con el apoyo y seguimiento prenatal de Prosarin, su hijo nació de 34 semanas de embarazo, rompió fuente prematuramente. Iván pesó al nacer 1.8 Kg y midió 44 cm, con complicaciones recurrentes de neumonía congénita, bilirrubina elevada, y otras enfermedades asociadas. Las promotoras de Prosarin dieron seguimiento de cerca al caso, apoyando con controles preventivos y evaluaciones mensuales de seguimiento, vitaminas, seguimiento nutricional, etc.

Iván al ser prematuro presentaba retos mayores en su aprendizaje, por lo que el Programa Aprendamos Juntos hizo su intervención, nivelando con estimulación temprana y fortalecimiento rutas de aprendizaje para que lograra todas sus metas cognitivas. Hoy Iván tiene casi 3 años y ya ha superado todas las dificultades de salud y superado todos los retos educativos, ahora está al mismo nivel que cualquier chico de su edad.

Programa Aprendamos Juntos

El Programa está orientado en llevar Educación Inicial a la primera infancia a través de la estimulación de las áreas del desarrollo como lenguaje, psicomotricidad fina, psicomotricidad gruesa, censo percepción y socio-afectividad a niños y niñas menores de 6 años, que viven en las comunidades de zonas rurales de los departamentos de Sonsonate y Ahuachapán.

El objetivo es fomentar la educación en forma lúdica retomando el juego como herramienta del aprendizaje. El programa estimula a los niños desde la concepción brindándoles estimulación a las mujeres embarazadas. Los padres y cuidadores juegan un papel importante en la educación involucrándose en elaboración de instrumentos psicopedagógicos en talleres.

Bienvenida y apertura del año escolar

Festejamos con los niños el comienzo de un nuevo año de aprendizaje y se les estimula con juegos; a ellos les despierta el amor y alegría de asistir al CEDIN (casa de Educación Inicial).

Celebración de día de la niña/niño

Es importante que se le reconozca la alegría de ser niño/a; en cada Casa de educación Inicial se hace quiebra de piñatas y se comparte con todos ellos.

Clausuras

En el mes de diciembre, el programa da un Diploma de reconocimiento a los niños y niñas que asistieron a la Casa de Educación Inicial. Este año se graduaron 315 niños.

Ludoteca Naves Hospitalaria Gloria Kriete

La Ludoteca Naves Hospitalaria Gloria de Kriete, administrada por Fundación La Niñez Primero-FUNIPRI, funciona en el Hospital Nacional de Niños Benjamín Bloom-HNNBB, con el objetivo mejorar el estado anímico de los pacientes para generar espacios de salud mental y contexto agradable durante su estancia hospitalaria.

Las intervenciones se basan en el uso del juego para estimular el desarrollo integral de los pacientes, permitiendo la autoexpresión de sus sentimientos y pensamientos, contribuyendo así una mejor recuperación durante la hospitalización. También se realizan intervenciones a pacientes en etapa final de vida, para ofrecer un soporte a ellos y sus familias ante una situación inminente de fallecimiento.

Diagnóstico: Múltiples traumas por accidente de tránsito, amputación del miembro inferior derecho

La historia de Iker es un ejemplo de superación en medio de las dificultades. El atravesar una situación tan traumática a temprana edad puede resultar difícil para niños y niñas de su edad. En el accidente que estuvo involucrado perdió a su padre y tía quienes murieron en el lugar, la madre de Iker también resultó duramente afectada, razón por la cual actualmente se encuentra en cama y en proceso de recuperación. Iker es un ejemplo de resiliencia y determinación, un ejemplo a seguir ya que a pesar de que a tan temprana edad, él sigue determinado a recuperarse y a seguir superándose. Actualmente se encuentra en proceso de rehabilitación, a punto de volver a la escuela y con la esperanza de alcanzar sus sueños. La ludoteca hospitalaria intervino en la atención del menor desde el momento de su ingreso en la unidad de cuidados intensivos y los traslados intrahospitalarios que experimento en sus 2 meses de hospitalización.

El Programa Talitha Kumi nace en 2012, como complemento académico en materias de computación, inglés, valores, matemáticas y formación integral y conciencia social. Trabaja por la implicación en cualquier área de acción de los jóvenes: mejora del desempeño, integración y adaptación al trabajo.

Programa Construcción del Carácter Forja

El Programa Construcción del Carácter (CBP) reanudó la implementación del programa CBP en la Escuela Nuestra Señora de las Gracias (ONUVA) -en el volcán de San Salvador- y en 3 escuelas en el Lago de Coatepeque, con la ayuda de 35 voluntarios. Trabajamos con niños, adolescentes, jóvenes, padres de familia, maestros y personal administrativo, para ayudarles a ser su mejor versión y así construir una sociedad más humana.

El Programa Construcción del Carácter, (CBP), trabaja en los ejes que componen el carácter: razonamiento moral, capacidad de amar y control de impulsos, en base a los descubrimientos más recientes de la neurociencia y utilizando las más diversas técnicas de enseñanza para facilitar que el conocimiento se concrete en la práctica.

Reanudamos la implementación del Programa de Construcción del Carácter (CBP) en la Escuela Nuestra Señora de las Gracias (ONUVA) -en el volcán de San Salvador- y en 3 escuelas en el Lago de Coatepeque, con la ayuda de 35 voluntarios. Trabajamos con niños, adolescentes, jóvenes, padres de familia, docentes y personal administrativo, para ayudarles a ser su mejor versión y así construir una sociedad más humana.

Taller de Construcción del Carácter y Efectividad para Docentes

Los docentes y personal administrativo de ONUVA recibieron 8 talleres de construcción del carácter, un total de 12 horas de capacitación, en donde se abordaron “Los 7 hábitos de las personas altamente efectivas” de Stephen Covey.

Protege Tu Corazón

Los estudiantes de 4to grado a 12vo grado recibieron un total de 27 talleres del programa internacional Protege tu Corazón, en el que tuvieron la oportunidad de conocer y reflexionar sobre temas de actualidad.

Nuevo programa “Camino”

Se creó e implementó el año 1 del nuevo programa “Camino” dirigido a los bachilleres en el cual se trabajaron “Los 7 Hábitos de los jóvenes altamente efectivos” de Stephen Covey.

Visita a escuelas en Lago de Coatepeque

Se realizan visitas de campo para presenciar algunos de los talleres impartidos en las escuelas del Lago de Coatepeque y para conversar con los directores y docentes sobre la implementación del programa y los resultados que observan.

THE FOUNDATION

The Gloria Kriete Foundation was established in December 2004 by Doña Gloria’s seven children as a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving her memory and promoting her altruistic spirit to future generations.

Over the past 18 years, the Gloria Kriete Foundation has positively impacted the lives of 3.2 million Salvadorans through its various initiatives, which include improving access to health care and education, providing job training, and promoting community development, entrepreneurship, innovation, and environmental sustainability. The Foundation believes that every human being should have access to the tools they need to pursue equal opportunities and improve their own lives and lives of those around them.

From Gloria Kriete Foundation, our mission is to make our capabilities available to all organizations, individuals and companies to achieve their social goals and thus offer new approaches to the problems we seek to solve together. We are honored that until this year we have managed to transform the lives of more than 3,200,000 Salvadorans in health, education, job training, community development, entrepreneurship, technology, innovation and environment through sustainable projects, which have achieved an effective and efficient change.

2022: A year of transformation for Gloria Kriete Foundation

In 2004, together with my brothers and sisters, we decided to start the Foundation. We knew that we had a commitment to contribute to finding solutions to many of the problems that still exist in our country, such as poverty, social inequality, education, health and many more.

The family legacy has evolved, with the aim of increasing its impact and involving different generations. Through our programs we have been discovering year after year that philanthropy goes beyond the granting of economic funds, we have understood that it is also

A year of social innovation

In 2022 one of our main focus has been Social Innovation, we have created strategic solutions for our programs in education, job training, collaborative work and employability, always thinking about how we provide tools for the development of each person.

The celebration of our 15th anniversary of the Oportunidades program was a very special milestone. We reunited with current student and alumni from all our graduating classes, now professionals all over the country. We remembered where we came from, and shared where we are going. With great enthusiasm we have developed our learning paths, seeking to make it experiential, relational and inclusive.

Together with different organizations, we are training students from Ahuachapán to La Unión. To date 3,987 young Salvadorans have been trained, and we know that, one by one, we are forming Oportunidades Citizens!

We have also continued working on the consolidation of Tu Chance, our FGK Digital Zone. Through digitalization we are breaking geographical and economic barriers and we are opening the way to bring training, education and employability options closer.

With the program Ayudando a Quienes Ayudan and its collective social investment model, we have supported and accompanied 37 organizations in all stages of the execution of their projects. These projects address real problems of street paving, community houses, drinking water, latrines and food security, among others. We also conducted a pilot test, which was very satisfactory, with the formation of ADESCOS, so that they can manage their projects with greater impact. Within the ecosystem of support for social entrepreneurship, we launched the Business Incubator program, with which we train and connect those who seek to generate a positive impact.

We also continue working with Kodigo to train young people in the technology sector, supporting programs such as Ludoteca Naves Hospitalaria Gloria Kriete, Fundación Forja, the Onuva Talitha Kumi program and working with AGAPE with the Integral Rural Health Program (PROSARIN) and the Aprendamos Juntos (Let’s Learn Together) program.

I thank the entire team of the foundation, partner organizations and companies for their dedication, passion and commitment to the development of tools that transform lives.

The Gloria Kriete Foundation, through its Education Pillar, participated in the regional meeting of Aflatoun, a global financial education network. As an active member of the network, the Foundation took part in a Q&A session on the strategic direction of the social and financial education network in the Latin American region.

WESPARK

FGK and WeSPARK recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work together to advance youth education. WeSPARK specializes in the development and implementation of innovative, human-centered, high-impact methods. Through their innovative methodologies, commitment to social projects, and contributions to innovation management research, they are dedicated to improving the quality of education worldwide. Nelson Inno, Founder and CEO of WeSPARK, signed the Memorandum of Understanding with the Foundation, allowing both organizations to continue their collaborative work in support of youth education. Their joint efforts will build on the success of previous projects such as Oportunidad-X, which aimed to establish the first science school on Mars.

TRIANGLE FOR DIGITAL GROWTH

The Gloria Kriete Foundation, Grupo Gurús, and Comercializadora de Tecnología have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at developing research initiatives and implementing projects that promote social and economic progress in the Northern Triangle through the promotion of technology and digital innovation fields. This agreement seeks to promote the exchange of knowledge and contribute to the social innovation ecosystem.

The Gloria Kriete Foundation strongly believes that education transforms lives, which is why this year the Foundation sponsored the CIMAT Fair and awarded 5 scholarships for Higher Education.

SPORTS SPONSORSHIP WITH FESA EL SALVADOR

The Gloria Kriete Foundation sponsored the FESA El Salvador “Promesa del Año” award, which recognizes 2 athletes with the best results throughout the year 2022. The winners were selected from among the most promising athletes in over 30 disciplines awarded at the “Espiga Dorada” awards. The selection process involved a jury of 35 people, including journalists and people related to the sport.

CONNECTIONS FOR EMPLOYMENT

In September, the “Connections for Employment” event was held, which aimed to create spaces for conversations with representatives from the private sector, the International Labor Organization (ILO), USAID, Oportunidades youth, and other programs supported by the Gloria Kriete Foundation to analyze the youth employment situation in El Salvador and young people’s perceptions of the main requirements of the private sector.

PARTICIPATION IN REGIONAL FORUMS

The Employment Training Pillar of the Gloria Kriete Foundation is part of the coordination of the Regional Forums on “Learning in Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship,” in which key partners participate in the development of actions for the benefit of youth in El Salvador, Guatemala, and Peru.

PARTNERSHIP WITH THE WORLD ORGANIZATION FOR MIGRATION

In collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), four awareness-raising workshops were held for 600 young adults from FGK’s permanent programs to warn them of the risks associated with irregular migration.

AGILE METHODOLOGIES FOR EMPLOYMENT

As part of the Employment Training Pillar activities, the Foundation created “Talent Match by FGK” for its Oportunidades, Kódigo, and ONUVA programs. More than 100 young adults have been empowered through this approach, which aims to provide a platform for young talent to enter the workforce by connecting them with companies and their needs.

PROGRAMS

The Gloria Kriete Foundation was established 18 years ago with the goal of creating programs that would leverage other institutions already working to address social needs. Additionally, FGK formed strategic partnerships with similar foundations and funded projects on an ongoing basis. Currently, FGK works directly with nine programs.

Oportunidades Program

The Oportunidades Program was created in 2007 with the goal of transforming Salvadoran youth by providing students with the tools to change their lives through hard work, thereby transforming their surroundings and their country.

Oportunidades has developed a distinctive philosophy that goes beyond technical expertise, emphasizing the development of soft skills for personal growth. Its innovative curriculum features cuttingedge topics in technology that are relevant to today’s world, making it the only program offering comprehensive academic excellence and training for young adults across three phases.

Alliance with USAID

In 2022, the Foundation completed the second year of its partnership with USAID, having executed 89.77% of the allocated budget. The alliance has also entered its third year, with more than 2,155 young students expected to benefit.

Achievement Fair

Throughout 2022, the focus was on technology and innovation as cross-cutting themes for STEAM career development, with innovative projects in 3D printing and modeling, robotics, and other relevant topics to encourage young students to think creatively. These projects contributed to the growth of their skills in current topics and were showcased at the Academic Achievement Fair

Strengthening in technology

In line with the focus on technology, the Foundation’s partner WeSpark, held workshops for both faculty and youth groups aimed at developing innovation skills and the ability to rapidly build metaverse environments.

Citizenship and leadership training

As part of their citizenship and leadership training, young adults learned and practiced civic leadership skills through community service in more than 112 volunteer programs and actively participated in the Student Council at each educational center.

ExpoU

Expo U was held at all program sites and had a total of 410 participants from both modalities. The event provided students with the opportunity to explore the academic offerings of more than 15 partner universities from across the country. As a result, 61% of these students expressed interest in pursuing a career in a STEAM field.

Change Management in BANI environments

The Labor Intermediation Phase organized a lunch meeting with 64 leaders and key actors from different institutions with the goal of improving collaboration among organizations working to promote youth employment in El Salvador. During the meeting, ADEN Business School gave a presentation on “Change Management in BANI Environments,” which helped to better understand the challenges facing the private sector in the current situation. This insight will be valuable in updating the training plans, which focus on developing employability skills.

The Oportunidades Program celebrated its 15th anniversary with a series of reunions with all the active students of the training centers, as well as the alumni, through discussions, meetings, and experiences that make the program a success in the life of each young adult who is part of it.

It all started in 2013, when I was in my first year of vocationaltechnical high school, when some students were asked to apply for the Foundation’s Oportunidades program and begin its admissions process. For two years, I got to meet many people, made a lot of friends, and learned for the first time that there is always someone who will go the extra mile more than you. Seven years after graduating, I am an Industrial Engineer, currently working as an Omnichannel Business Analyst in a multinational company where my hard work and value are recognized, not only as a professional but also as a person. The Foundation has been and continues to be a fundamental pillar of my education. Undoubtedly, education is the greatest treasure I will have for the rest of my life.

San Salvador, Full-Time Program

I’m Daniel Alvarado, an Oportunidades Citizen who studied in the Gloria Kriete Foundation program from 2015 to 2017. The Program strengthened my academic studies, soft skills, and leadership skills. I graduated with honors in Business Engineering from ESEN. During my time as a student, I belonged to two student associations, ProBecas ESEN and Future ESEN, with the goal of helping others and giving back to society a little bit of everything I have received. I was an instructor of subjects such as Mathematics, Calculus for Engineers, Operations Management, among others, to help other students improve their knowledge in the courses. I currently work as a Base Home Analyst for Tigo El Salvador, where I am responsible for the day-today monitoring of the initiatives and performance of the company’s many business channels. My goal in life is to transform my community, help more young people change their socio-economic situations, and continue to have a positive impact on society.

Helping Those Who Help

Helping Those Who Help is a program whose primary objective is to create a solid network of support among individuals, foundations, or institutions that seek to promote a positive social impact in El Salvador, to improve the living conditions of the Salvadoran population.

The program’s model aims to generate collective impact for human and social development through three main strategic areas: nonprofit organizations, community development, and social entrepreneurship.

ACTIVITIES

Business Incubator Graduation

The training initiative used an internationally recognized online incubation methodology combined with personalized guidance from expert mentors. Participants received 16 weeks of incubation and completed eight modules covering various topics to develop a business model with a social focus. These topics included Value Proposition, Marketing and Pricing Plan, Financial and Growth Plan, among others. Throughout the program, participants also received personalized advice from an expert mentor who helped them refine and strengthen their business model on a weekly basis.

West and East Zone Community Leadership Course Graduations

The course focuses on training and strengthening the skills of community leaders, with an emphasis on managing social projects.

People from 23 ADESCOS were trained:

▷ 16 ADESCOS from the eastern region trained, in alliance with PADECOMSM.

▷ 7 ADESCOS from the eastern region trained, using the Fortas-Fusades methodology.

At the end of the training session, 51 people received their graduation diploma.

Workbook - A New Strategy for Training

The first edition of the workbook “Cómo diseñar Proyectos Sociales y no fallar en el intento” (How to design social projects and not fail in the process) was published thanks to the alliance established with PADECOMSM and the support of the community facilitator NODOS. A book designed for ADESCOS that will allow them to easily accomplish the following:

▷ Facilitate the community in mapping out the problems that need to be addressed.

▷ Structure the design of social projects to apply for grant funds and/or other collaborative funds.

Signing of the LearnMatch Agreement

The Gloria Kriete Foundation (FGK) and Vision Education have formed an alliance to provide Salvadorans with free access to LearnMatch, a mobile application that enables anyone to learn languages such as English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Japanese, or Portuguese. The application allows users to learn at their own pace and level, without any charge.

LearnMatch makes language learning a fun experience with themed games and unlimited social interaction.

Fundación Gloria Kriete organized the “Conozcamos DigiSalud” event to promote the DigiSalud platform, which offers free access to comprehensive healthcare services. On April 28, 2022, DigiSalud and FGK signed an agreement to continue promoting and implementing the platform in El Salvador.

FGK has implemented DigiSalud in the clinics of Prosarin, serving the coastal populations of the departments of Ahuachapán and Sonsonate, and, starting this year, in the ONUVA clinic, serving the communities in the foothills of the volcano in San Salvador. The experience in both projects has allowed us to promote the platform and offer it free of charge to other organizations interested in implementing it.

Kodigo is a pioneering social enterprise that aims to accelerate learning and develop creative thinking in technology among young adults, helping them enter the job market through a 3–6-month training program with a financing model called Income Sharing Agreement (ISA), where the students pay for their education only after they have secured a job.

Kodigo also partners with technology companies, offering opportunities to co-create professional training programs to meet ad-hoc needs, as well as internship opportunities and corporate social responsibility projects through scholarship and sponsorship programs.

IOM Scholarships

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) El Salvador, in partnership with USAID El Salvador and the IDB Group Innovation Lab (IDB Lab), has awarded partial scholarships to 36 young adults to train as Junior Full-Stack Web Developers.

The initiative sought to improve the well-being of returning migrants or those at risk of migration by providing an intensive six-month program that promotes the development of soft skills, creativity, problem solving, and time management. The program culminates with the placement of trainees in formal technology jobs such as Jr. Programmer Analyst, Full Stack Java Developer or Jr. Software Developer.

The Geek Show was an event aimed at fostering innovation and employability, organized in partnership with Impact Hub and IDB Lab. The event’s primary objective was to connect emerging technology talent with potential employers and entrepreneurs with potential allies, such as private companies and investors, to support the growth of their startups. The three-day event included an “Innovation Hackathon” and the “Geek Jobs” technology job fair, which brought together more than 700 young adults from across the country to showcase their innovative ideas and learn about career opportunities in the technology and digital sectors.

Kodigo, the Creative Technology Academy, has successfully graduated more than 300 young adults, including 55 women, as software developers, thanks to the support of the IDB Group’s Innovation Lab. With this accomplishment, Kodigo closes 2022 with more than 850 young adults who have benefited from the “Kod1ficando para mejorar vidas” (Coding to Improve Lives), program, which began in April 2021. After 3-6 months of intensive training in programming boot camps, the students were enrolled in an employability program that connected them with leading technology companies and provided them with opportunities to join their work teams.

Integral Rural Health Program

The program focuses on prevention, education and healing for people in the low-income rural communities of Sonsonate, Ahuachapán, and La Unión. The modalities of assistance are as follows:

▶ The program offers home visits to high-risk families to prevent disease through childhood immunization, assess individuals with disabilities, manage chronic degenerative diseases in the elderly, and provide guidance on the elimination and control of disease-carrying vectors.

▶ Scheduled health services at clinics, which include wound healing, stitch removal, Combur test, hemoglucotests, pregnancy tests, etc.

Raúl Iván Sánchez Rivera, a Prosarin patient and student in the Learning Together program in the community of Las Higueras, canton of Izalco, Sonsonate. Health promoter responsible: Ana Lilian González

Graciela had the support and prenatal care of Prosarin; her son was born at 34 weeks when her water broke prematurely. Ivan weighed 1.8 kg at birth and measured 44 cm, with recurrent complications of congenital pneumonia, elevated bilirubin, and other associated diseases. Prosarin promoters followed the case closely, supporting them with preventive controls and monthly follow-up evaluations, vitamins, nutritional monitoring, etc. Ivan’s premature birth presented greater learning challenges, so the Learning Together program intervened to level him out with early stimulation and strengthen his learning skills so he could achieve all his cognitive goals. Today, Ivan is almost three years old and has already overcome all his health and educational challenges, allowing him to reach the same developmental level as any other boy his age.

Learning Together Program

The program aims to provide early childhood education to children under the age of 6 living in rural communities in the departments of Sonsonate and Ahuachapán. It focuses on stimulating developmental areas such as language, fine and gross psychomotor skills, perception, and socio-affective skills.

The goal of the program is to promote education in a fun and engaging way by using play as a learning tool. It provides stimulation for children from conception onward, as well as for pregnant women. Parents and caregivers play an important role in education by participating in workshops to develop psycho-pedagogical tools.

Welcoming of students and opening of school year

The program celebrated the start of a new year of learning with the children, inspiring them with games designed to awaken their love and joy for attending the Early Childhood Education Centers (CEDIN - Centro de Educación Inicial).

The Gloria Kriete Naves Hospital Playroom

The Gloria de Kriete Naves Hospital Playroom, operated by the Fundación La Niñez Primero (FUNIPRI), is in the Hospital Nacional de Niños Benjamín Bloom-HNNBB. Its mission is to improve the emotional well-being of patients by providing a safe and comfortable space that promotes mental health and positivity during their hospitalization. Care interventions focus on the use of play to stimulate children’s overall health development. This approach allows them to express their thoughts and emotions, which in turn contributes to a better healing process during hospitalization. Support is also provided to the terminally ill and their families to help them cope with the impending loss of a loved one.

Iker Alvarenga

Medical diagnosis: Multiple trauma due to traffic accident, amputation of the right lower limb.

Iker’s story is an example of overcoming adversity. Going through such a traumatic situation at such a young age can be difficult for children of his age. In the accident he was involved in, he lost his father and aunt, who died at the scene, and Iker’s mother was also badly affected and is currently recovering in bed. Iker is an example of resilience and determination, an example to follow because even at such a young age, he is still determined to recover and continue to excel. He is currently in the process of rehabilitation and is about to return to school with the hope of achieving his dreams. The Hospital Playroom has been involved in the child’s care from the time of his admission to the intensive care unit and the transfers between hospitals he experienced during his 2-month hospitalization.

Talitha Kumi ONUVA Program

Talitha Kumi was established in 2012 as a complementary educational program offering courses in Computer Science, English as a Second Language, Values, Mathematics, Integral Education, and Social Awareness. The program strives for the involvement of young students in different areas of action: performance enhancement, integration, and workforce preparation.

FORJA Character Building Program

The Character-Building Program (CBP) resumed its program at the Nuestra Señora de las Gracias School (ONUVA), located in the San Salvador volcano region, and at 3 schools in Lake Coatepeque, with the help of 35 volunteers. The program works with children, teens, young adults, parents, teachers, and administrative staff to help them become the best versions of themselves and build a more humane society. The CBP focuses on the fundamental components of character, including moral reasoning, the capacity for love, and impulse control, based on the latest findings from neuroscience and using a variety of teaching techniques to ensure that knowledge is applied in a practical way.

Character Building and Effectiveness Workshop for Teachers

ONUVA teachers and administrative staff received 8 character-building workshops, a total of 12 hours of training, which were based on Stephen Covey’s “7 Habits of Highly Effective People”.

Protect Your Heart

The Protect Your Heart international program offered 27 workshops for students in grades 4–12 to explore and reflect on contemporary topics.

The first year of the Camino program for high school graduates was a success. The curriculum was based on “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens” by Stephen Covey.

Visits to Coatepeque Lake Schools

Field visits are made to observe some of the workshops held in the schools of Lake Coatepeque and to engage in conversation with the directors and teachers regarding the implementation of the program and the results they have observed.
