3 Tips to Help You Look Your Best in Your Wedding Photos When it comes to looking your best in your engagement or wedding photos, it really is the photographer’s job to pose you. Unless you’re going totally photojournalistic (meaning ‘fly the wall’ coverage where you’re not given any direction), a big part of why you’re hiring a pro is so they can give you posing direction. It’s something that takes time to perfect as a wedding photographer. It also makes a world of difference in the photos, as well as in your overall experience. There’s nothing more awkward than standing in front of a camera wondering what to do with your hands or if you’re looking like a total goof or not! Here are just a few of my go-to tips and tricks that I teach my brides when I’m posing them.
RELAX YOUR SHOULDERS We naturally hold tension in our neck and shoulders, which can make us look stiff in photos. Remember to relax your shoulders and let them melt down so they aren’t up by your ears! On that note, you don’t want to relax so much that you’re hunching over either. Make sure to keep those shoulder blades pulled in so your posture looks good.
CREATE SPACE BETWEEN YOUR ARMS AND YOUR BODY There’s a reason that models pose with their hands on their hips instead of straight by their sides. Creating space between your body and your arms is figure flattering for women of all body types. Of course, I will tell you exactly where to place your hands and how to angle your elbows with each pose when I’m shooting you, but when you’re taking photos yourself always aim to create a little space between your arms and your body for the most flattering photo.
BEND YOUR FRONT KNEE This is my go-to trick any time I’m posing for a quick cell phone snap! The key is to stand with your shoulders at about a 45-degree angle to the camera and bend the front knee. It gives a natural S-curve to the body which is super figure flattering. You can also cross your ankles or kick back your toe for the same effect.

Wedding Bouquets
What Do You Need to Know? You’ve probably never purchased a wedding bouquet before. Therefore, you most likely have no clue why certain bouquets will cost what they do. There are many factors that determine the cost of a wedding bouquet. Below are the main ones.
TYPES OF FLOWERS Certain popular wedding flowers, like peonies and garden roses, are considered premium. This means that they are at the higher price point. Using a variety of flowers can not only be visually beautiful but can also be cost effective. Your bouquet will most likely have a variety of premium flowers, while your bridesmaids’ bouquets will have more economical ones.
$255
TIME OF YEAR Not every flower is available all year around. In fact, only a few types are. When you meet with your wedding florist, you will most likely have your wedding date set. Talk with them about what flowers you’d like. If needed, they can make suggestions of similar flowers that will be in season during the time of your wedding.
SIZE AND STYLE OF BOUQUET
$160
There are a variety of bouquet styles that you can go with, from cascading, garden style, traditional, compact, etc. The style of bouquet that you select, as well as the size, will determine the final price of your bouquet.
Looking for a Bouquet Guide? To the right, are three bouquets by In Bloom Florist at three different price points. Please note that these prices are just a guide. Actual pricing may have to be adjusted due to factors listed above.

WHERE TO STAY There are many beach resorts in both St. Pete Beach and Clearwater. These accommodations include high end hotels such as the Vinoy Park Hotel and The Don CeSar in St. Pete, as well as the Hyatt Regency and Wyndham Grand in Clearwater. There are also smaller beach hotels and motels along Gulf Boulevard such as the Postcard Inn on the Beach (right) in St. Pete Beach.
WHAT TO DO Traveling along Gulf Boulevard is very easy with the Beach Trolley. The trolley stops are identified by small signs with an image of the sun. Along the way, you can stop at multiple beach bars and restaurants. One popular area in St. Pete Beach for nature lovers to visit is Fort de Soto Park & Beach which is made up of five interconnected islands and offers a nice break from the crowds in Clearwater. When the sun begins to set, make sure to head to Pier 60 where there is a nightly sunset festival (weather dependent) with vendors and artists. There are also relaxing sunset and dinner cruises from Clearwater where there is a high chance of getting a glimpse of the many playful dolphins. The St. Pete Beach/Clearwater area has something for couples who are just looking to relax to couples are looking for more adventurous experiences.

What’s better than a stunning dress in a beautiful locale? How about multiple gorgeous gowns at three of Winter Park’s lovely wedding venues? The Bridal Finery in Winter Park delivered on layers of lace and detailed beading in a variety of silhouettes, and we love every choice. Each venue had a different atmosphere. The Garden Villa at Florida Federation was filled to the brim with greenery and charming brick walkways. Model bride, Kristi, strolled through in a high-low Anne Barge gown covered in vinelike beading. Casa Feliz’s signature Spanish Colonial style lent itself perfectly to two romantic Theia gowns with floral accents. Last but not least, the Orlando Museum of Art’s modern, abstract sculptures created pops of color behind two more exquisite dresses. A sleek, short-sleeved Jenny Packham gown with geometric beading around the neckline fit the ambiance just right! Each model held a dazzling bouquet with a giant King Protea stealing the show. 18

Using Shoots for Wedding Inspiration As you’ve been looking for ideas on how to style your wedding, there is a good chance that you’ve come across a styled/ inspiration shoot or two. These shoots give wedding industry professionals a chance to be creative with wedding decor. They also provide engaged couples with inspiration for their own wedding. There are a few things that you need to keep in mind when using these shoots for inspiration.
USE AS INSPIRATION, NOT A BLUEPRINT Most inspiration shoots go above what the average wedding would have as decor, with elaborate florals, custom favors and stationery, tableware, etc. It is important to understand that these designs can be very costly, especially when replicated on all of your guest tables. Use a shoot for inspiration, not as a blueprint for what you want your whole wedding to look like. Maybe you fell in love with the florals or menus in a shoot, you can work with your wedding florist or stationer to help you create a version of what you love in your budget.
USE A LOCATION AS A FOCAL POINT
p.22
p.24
Although it may not be practical for you to use the decor you fell in love with from an inspiration shoot on every guest table, you can choose one or two parts of your wedding to bring that design to life. A sweetheart table and/or dessert table is a great location to do this. These locations also make for great photo opts.
Wedding Inspiration We asked four amazing Orlando wedding planners to each create a wedding inspiration shoot with some of the best wedding professionals in the area and they definitely delivered. Each team displayed their own artistic ideas for inspiration. Every shoot features some truly imaginative elements and details, from show-stopping gowns to meticulously decorated sweetheart tables. Bohemian, luxurious, airy and bright - whatever your style, there’s a little something special for everyone in this collection of wedding day designs!

Spring Radiance AT ARUNDEL ESTATE
Do you love bright colors? Neon pinks and yellows make this styled shoot the perfect way to celebrate spring. A sweetheart table overflowing with flowers sat waiting for a happy couple to sit and rest beneath the trees. For a fun touch, a bright yellow wedding cake hung from the branches above. What a creative way to display dessert! The ceremony space was just as colorful, with pink cushions on every chair and a huge floral garland wrapped around the oak tree. Even the invitations were vibrant with pink and orange watercolor and calligraphy! See more at bit.ly/2JOQNH2

Bold Organic
AT EAST END MARKET
East End Market is the perfect location for some bold organic inspiration. An abundance of planters and a homey sweetheart table gave the day a relaxed, comfortable feel while still injecting tons of style. The gowns selected for this shoot were so unique, including an eye-catching, offthe-shoulder gown with statement sleeves The potted palms and additional palm leaves provided a touch of the Florida tropics, and a loose bouquet exploded with pretty blossoms. A clean cake topped with florals and a macramĂŠ wall hanging were the finishing touches to a flawless design. See more at bit.ly/2JRMsmz

Mid-Century
Pastel Chic AT HAUS 820
This dreamy shoot drew inspiration from Anthropologie with chic, delicate details and a splash of mid-century modern style. Pastels ruled the design with fresh flowers in light blues, pinks, and purples abounded. Model bride, Melinda, wore loose waves framed her face beautifully. Her lace wedding gown was cut into a deep V with an overlay skirt. A long, lace table runner spilled over the sweetheart table and onto the floor while mismatched china and drinkware decorated the top. Remember that splash of mid-century modern we mentioned? The reception lounge area had beautiful pieces reflecting this style. And check out that cake! See more at bit.ly/2HpaVRx

Rustic Elegance with an Edge AT UP THE CREEK FARMS
Rustic elegance with just a hint of edge - sometimes pairings that seem unlikely go together so well! Wine red accents contrasted with the model bride’s bright blue hair, which created a twist in an upscale design. Gold chargers and flatware added opulence to each place setting, while classic china and a lace table runner added romance. Not to be overlooked is the large circle of branches and florals hanging from one of Up the Creek Farm’s many beautiful oak trees! It provided even more photo opportunities to a shoot already rich in detail. See more at bit.ly/2HDYY8g

Alfond Inn Wedding Stephan ie and Br ian WINTER PARK, FL
Stephanie and Brian’s intimate wedding at the Alfond Inn was all about family. Their ceremony included lots of heartfelt moments - Brian’s dad officiated, both of Stephanie’s parents walked her down the aisle, and her cousin and Brian’s sister each performed a reading. Stephanie looked exquisite in a long-sleeved gown and chapel-length veil, and Brian wore a white suit jacket and navy blue bow tie for their special day. Stephanie wanted to keep their decor simple,

sophisticated, and elegant, and she definitely succeeded! She chose ivory, navy blue, and gold as their wedding day colors, a choice you can see reflected in every detail from the reception tables to the cake. Stephanie’s advice for a happy relationship? “Marriage is a marathon, not a sprint. Make decisions together, consider each other’s feelings, and work through problems as a team. Also, it is supposed to be enjoyable - so have fun and laugh A LOT!” We would agree!

Venue 1902 at Preservation Hall Wedding Francheska and Sanjeet SANFORD, FL
When the bride is Colombian and the groom is Indian, you’re sure to get a wedding day bursting with culture! Francheska and Sanjeet were actually married in a Hindu ceremony at Sanjeet’s parents’ home, but they decided to hold a Western celebration with their friends and family a few months later at Venue 1902 at Preservation Hall. Francheska was inspired by Sanjeet’s heritage and included several Indian details along with some boho themes in their wedding. She surprised Sanjeet with his name hidden in the henna on her hands and wore a delicate maang tikka on her head. They even incorporated the mandap from their Hindu wedding into their Western ceremony! Francheska’s bouquet was full of luscious pink and deep purple flowers, and brightly colored floral centerpieces provided pops of color in the reception. Once their stateside festivities were done, the newlyweds were off to Nepal for their honeymoon!

Isleworth Country Club Wedding ELLIE AND DAN WINDERMERE, FL
Ellie and Dan met through work, not realizing that they were practically neighbors! Their wedding day was classic with a few modern touches, and soft teals and whites were paired with roses and orchids. Ellie looked perfectly polished with a smooth, fitted gown and an elegant updo, and her bridesmaids wore matching high-necked dresses. Outside in beautiful weather, Ellie and Dan said their I Do’s with a candle ceremony and a lake vista as their backdrop.
Spring/Summer 2018
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a delicious dinner at candlelit tables in Isleworth Country Club’s reception hall. The room was softly lit with rosy uplighting, and greenery decorated every surface and hung above the sweetheart table. For dessert, a white cake embellished with Ellie and Dan’s initials sat ready to be cut! Ellie’s advice for couples is to plan ahead and work with a wedding planner to lessen your wedding stress!

Winter Park Farmers Market Wedding Laura and Jason WINTER PARK, FL
Laura and Jason met through a mutual friend. After seven years together and an incredible proposal on a cruise in Switzerland, it was time to plan their big day! The two of them knew they wanted a wedding in Winter Park and they wanted it to be fun. With a talented team of vendors, they achieved just that! Pink florals, navy linens, and gold accents brought the Winter Park Farmer’s Market to life for their family and friends who traveled from all over. Instead of one big cake, Laura and Jason decided on several smaller ones in different flavors. A photobooth kept guests entertained as they posed with silly props throughout the night! Although the wedding was beautiful, Laura and Jason’s favorite part of the day was spending time with their loved ones. As they put it, “To have so many people that mean so very much to us in one location was the most incredible feeling.” What a fantastic way to start a new chapter of life!

Four Seasons Resort Orlando Wedding Olivia and David
LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL
Olivia and David were high school sweethearts who got married on their ten year dating anniversary! They wanted a timeless wedding style they could look back on for years to come, so they opted for elegant soft pinks and bouquets of roses. Olivia’s strapless sweetheart gown was all sheer lace across the back, and a loose skirt that flowed around her. Before their ceremony, she joined David for a first look at the bottom of the Four Seasons Orlando’s grand staircase, and the

two of them enjoyed a moment together before guests arrived. Olivia and David said their vows with an outdoor ceremony at the end of an aisle full of rose petals. Their reception in the ballroom featured tall rose centerpieces, gold chivari chairs, and sweet treats for guests at every place setting. Oh, the romance! When asked what the favorite part of their wedding was, Olivia had a hard time picking, but definitely put having their family and friends there at the top of her list!
