Welcome to the Summer/Fall 2021 issue of Orange Blossom Bride Magazine and congrats on your engagement! Weddings are back! The wait is over after many couples postponed in 2020 due to the coronavirus and travel restrictions. Couples are planning their wedding celebrations in full force and we couldn’t be happier for them! In this issue, we have beautiful wedding inspiration shoots, including our Colors of the Year shoots, along with lovely real local weddings. We also have great wedding planning tips, like transforming your wedding reception space. For our cover shoot, we selected Sabrina Servance, a real bride, who at the time of the shoot was getting married in three weeks. It was such a pleasure working with her. She even had a moment after putting the beautiful wedding gown on from Solutions Bridal, letting it sink in that her wedding was right around the corner. The excitement on her face was priceless! Sabrina also gives great advice for couples who are going through the process of planning their wedding.

Pantone’s

r a e Y e h t f o s Color 10

Every December, the Pantone Color Institute, creators of the worldwide honored color matching system, selects a color of the year. For 2021, they have selected two colors, Ultimate Gray and Illuminating, a bright shade of yellow. Pantone has been selecting a Color of the Year since 2000. This color(s) is pulled from trend-forecasting research, analyzing the current global cultural influences of the time. This selection will influence designs across the fashion, wedding, and interior design world. To be honest, this isn’t a color palette that we see a lot in wedding design. However, it is the perfect time for vendors to get creative with it. Since the foundation of wedding design is based on color, you will oftentimes see wedding pros get creative with the selected colors through styled wedding shoots. Out of this, comes the inspiration for couples to use in their own weddings.

WEDDING FLOWERS

The most common way for couples to incorporate the color of the year is usually in their wedding day florals. From bouquets and boutonnieres to ceremony backdrops and table centerpieces, Illuminating (a bright shade of yellow) is very common in flowers.

ACCENTS AND LINENS

Unlike Illuminating, Ultimate Gray is not a natural color that you will find in flowers. Instead, you can use this color in your accent pieces. Ultimate Gray is very close to silver which can be incorporated through vases, candlesticks, and chargers. Summer/Fall 2021

8 STATIONERY From invitations to menu cards, both Illuminating and Ultimate Gray can work in all wedding stationery. Since most often wedding stationery is incorporated with the flow of design, it’s a great way to make your color palette come together with a cohesive look. Want to use this color combo in your wedding design? Check out our Elegant Garden and Retro Minimalist wedding inspiration shoots on the next pages. Photos:

AT CYPRESS CREEK FARMHOUSE

Who would have thought the colors gray and yellow complimented each other so nicely! For this shoot, we took inspiration from the Pantone Colors of the Year and Orlando Wedding and Party Rentals’ new stunning ceremony backdrop. Lush greenery with ivory and yellow roses by Atmosphere’s Floral and Design were found throughout the entire shoot, located at Cypress Creek Farmhouse. Pops of the color scheme played into the stunning invitation suite by Two Peas Paper Co. and the wedding cake by Cake and Bake, both creating eye catching focal points. Sophia’s Art Photography captured the shoot beautifully!

AT CYPRESS CREEK FARMHOUSE

Retro minimalism, with splashes of Pantone’s Colors of the Year, gave us all the vibes for our shoot at Cypress Creek Farmhouse. A fun geometric shaped backdrop, which was repurposed for the ceremony and reception, was the perfect unique piece to contrast against the natural landscape. We were honored to have Lily, the sweetest rescue pup from Furry Ventures Pet Care as our model couple’s flower girl! Signature cocktails by The Sol Tree Company and Sweet Miss Vs cake, inspired by our backdrop, put the perfect finishing touches on our bold retro shoot.

REAL COUPLE

Sabrina + Addison We first met Sabrina on a wedding dress shoot that we did at Solutions Bridal for our Winter/Spring 2020 issue. Shortly after the shoot, Sabrina became a bride-to-be when her long-time boyfriend Addison popped the question on New Year’s Eve 2019. Since then, she has documented her wedding planning journey via Instagram, including saying yes to the dress at Solutions Bridal. She not only fell in love with her dress, but with the incredible experience that the bridal salon offers. With her wedding only a few weeks away, we thought what better person to grace our cover and give wedding planning advice than a bride who is almost married! Summer/Fall 2021

What has been the hardest part of planning your wedding? “The funny thing is all our friends do wedding things so picking who to work with was super easy. Well, it was easy until COVID happened. Then we were like what do we do, now that we’ve paid for all these things and planned all these things. Honestly, the hardest thing was other people really. It’s like suddenly everything you like is weird to them and everyone wants to throw in their two cents.”

How have you dealt with this? “Well I used to be the biggest people pleaser on the planet, but I realize that it’s an important day for Addison and I. I have to do what makes him happy and what’s makes me happy. At the end of the day, we want to look back and be like “oh man I’m so glad that we didn’t listen to so and so. And we danced to what we wanted.” We just stopped for 5 seconds and had a conversation about expectations. The fact that we know things can go wrong the day of but as long as we have each other it will be fine.”

What are you most excited for your wedding? “We are always dancing so music and our DJ was so important to us. I know it’s such a cliche, corny thing but all we care about is marrying each other. We were like someone could set our cake on fire and we are going to be like that’s cool, we’re married!”

What advice would you give couples planning their wedding? “My advice to all couples would be do what you want. At the end of the day it is your day. It does not matter what anyone thinks. Everyone is going to have an opinion and you will drive yourself crazy listening to people. Do what you want and do what makes you both happy, THE END.”

Transforming

Your

Wedding Reception

When it comes to wedding design there are several things that you can include to make your reception space stand out.

LIGHTING

CAKE/DESSERT DISPLAY

There is no question that lighting can transform a room. Using uplighting and/or projections can take the most simple reception space and turn it into the perfect wedding vibe that you are going for. Talk with your DJ or lighting specialist about the feel that you envisioned for your wedding reception.

Wedding cakes are one of our favorite ways to tie in your wedding design. Many couples are opting to move away from traditional white buttercream. Instead, they are requesting colors and textures, even elements like sugar flowers, to amp up their wedding cake design; and give their guests a delicious piece of art.

LINENS

SWEETHEART TABLE

There are so many options when it comes to linens. Not just for colors, but textures and patterns too. Often, couples will select a simple single shade polyester for their table linens and napkins. However, incorporating a beautiful linen is not something guests are accustomed to seeing and will amp up your wedding design. If you don’t have room in your wedding budget for specialty table linens as your main linen on your guest tables, incorporate specialty napkins instead.

Whether you are doing a sweetheart table or head table, this space in your wedding reception is the perfect spot to go all out! One of the easiest ways to bring your wedding design together from your ceremony to reception is by re-purposing your backdrop and florals. Using this behind and around your sweetheart/head table provides a great focal point and allows you to get the most out of your beautiful decor.

WEDDING TIPS

Wedding Vendors You Didn’t Know You Needed

Couples today are breaking away from cookie-cutter weddings. Instead, they are creating celebrations that reflects them as a couple and provides an unforgettable experience for their wedding guests. With so many options to customize your wedding, it may get overwhelming. However, we narrowed it down to some must have wedding pros for your wedding day.

24

Orange Blossom Bride

EVENT SITTERS

You may want to have an adults-only wedding, but know that means there may be family and friends with kids that will not be able to attend. Hiring an event sitter is the perfect solution! It allows for your wedding guests to enjoy themselves at your adult-only wedding, all while keeping their little ones in a fun and safe environment at the venue.

LIVE PAINTER

Looking to create an experience for your wedding guests and have a keepsake for after the wedding? A live painter checks both those boxes. Whether you want to capture your first kiss, first dance, or another special moment of your wedding day, hiring a professional live painter is the way to go!

PET SITTER

It’s hard to imagine not having all your loved ones there to celebrate your wedding day, including your fury baby. However, there is a lot of logistics that goes into having your pet in your wedding. Working with a professional wedding pet sitter will make sure that your pup is well taken care of and ready to shine for your wedding day.

PHOTO BOOTH

Who doesn’t love a photo booth?! Photo booths are fun and interactive. They can also be customized with props, backdrops, and photo strips to match your wedding theme/design. All while providing a little photo keepsake for your wedding guests and can easily double as a wedding guestbook. WEDDING TIPS

Weddings are

B ack!

2020 was a year that it’s safe to say no one will soon forget. The wedding world (well the world in general) seemed to have changed overnight last March. With a global pandemic causing us to social distance, it made it challenging to have the wedding celebration that many couples had been planning for months, if not a year or more. With vaccinations on the rise and Florida allowing for larger gatherings, it seems as though the worst may be behind us. Due to this, we are seeing that weddings have hit overdrive with couples finally ready to celebrate their love with their family and friends. If you are planning on getting married over the next 18 months, here are some things to keep in mind while planning your wedding.

SECURE YOUR WEDDING DATE When the pandemic hit, couples had to make the difficult choice on whether to cancel or reschedule their wedding. Thankfully, we have found that most choose the latter. However, this means that many future dates were booked by these reschedules. On top of that, there were many newly engaged couples early in 2020 that decided to hold off on booking a venue to see how everything would turn out. These couples are now ready to move forward with their wedding planning.

All this to say that if you have your heart set on a date/venue, booking as soon as you’ve decided would be best. Popular dates and venues may not be available. Being flexible is going to be important for couples who are planning to get married this year and into early 2023.

BOOK YOUR MUST HAVE VENDORS Just as with the venues, which are having a booking frenzy, wedding vendors are dealing with the same situation. Along with reschedules, vendors are finding that couples are booking more than ever before. Since vendors physically can take only so many weddings a year, many are having their calendars fill up fast. Some vendors may be booking farther in advance than normal to accommodate these couples. However, each vendor is different. If you have a vendor team that you want to work with, book as soon as you can.

ASK A

Photographer

Boudoir photography is all about embracing the incredibly beautiful woman that you are right now. We asked our favorite boudoir photographers some of the questions we get the most when it comes to doing a boudoir session.

27

Who is Boudoir For? “Boudoir is for ANYONE wanting to gain a little extra confidence or looking to jump out of their comfort zones. It’s for brides, moms, boss babes, sisters. It’s for every single woman no matter their age or shape of their body!” - Ashley Van Zandt of Ashley Jane Boudoir

Do I Have to Wear Lingerie?

“Lingerie is not the only way to look and feel sexy. You can do a boudoir shoot wearing a dress, robe, button-up, a big comfy sweater or classic white bedsheet, etc. Your session is designed to your definition of sexy.” - Bumby Grimm of Boudoir by Bumby

How Do I Overcome Nerves and Feel Confident Before a Boudoir Session? “Give yourself a positivity pep talk about your favorite features, then communicate those with your photographer. We know how to guide you through poses that will make you feel confident and sexy. Professional hair and makeup will also help you look and feel your best!” - Olivia Ginn of Olivia Ginn Portraits

The Golden Bear Club

SallyAnn + Gino SallyAnn and Gino knew they wanted to create a more relaxed, comfortable, and inviting feel at their wedding for their guests. Their “modern love story” theme, with shades of muted dusty blue and gray came to life at the Golden Bear Club, located in Windermere, Florida. So many special details were added to their big day, including Gino and the groomsmen donning avenger cufflinks and SallyAnn and her bridesmaids incorporating converse shoes in their look.

32

Orange Blossom Bride

A main focal point of the day was SallyAnn’s gorgeous cascading bouquet created by Andie, of Events by the Flower Studio. Andie also helped accentuate the wooden lantern table centerpieces made by the groom himself with floral displays, complementing the theme. According to bride SallyAnn, the best part of the day was getting married! She explained that because having a wedding in 2020 was stressful, they “were able to put the day into perspective.” Also, they had a getaway car after the reception, where Gino’s brother attached tin cans to the back. With the car clinking as they drove away, the newlyweds had a moment to themselves to take it all in and appreciate their new journey as husband and wife.

REAL WEDDINGS

Sydonie Mansion

Kristen + Daniel After having to postpone their wedding twice due to COVID, Kristen and Daniel were ecstatic to finally be able to tie the knot with all their friends and family at Sydonie Mansion, located in Mount Dora, Florida. Since they had to downsize their guest list due to the pandemic, they were able to spend quality time with their closest loved ones, making it the best day of their lives.

36

Orange Blossom Bride

Kristen and Daniel do not define themselves as traditional or formal and they wanted to make sure they had a wedding that felt like them. Keywords included bright, fun, and not something seen every day. They loved the idea of replacing traditional florals with metallic painted dried leaves and funky shades of pampas grass. From there, a boho garden theme just seemed like the perfect fit and the Atmosphere’s Floral and Design team did an amazing job of bringing this look together. They also made the day unique to their love by having their three furbabies walked down the aisle by each bridesmaid. The pups were able to stand up front and watch as their mom and dad said, “I do”, while being cared for by Winter Park Pet Concierge. Kristen exclaimed, “we wouldn’t have had it any other way!”

REAL WEDDINGS

The Capen House

Devon + Jose The moment Devon and Jose visited The Capen House at the Polasek Museum in Winter Park, Florida, they knew it was the perfect place for them to have their wedding. They used the outdoor garden space that the venue provided as the biggest piece of inspiration. With the dock overlooking Lake Osceola and the lush gardens, Devon and Jose exchanged their vows in front of all their closest family and friends.

40

Orange Blossom Bride

To maintain the feeling of being in the gardens, while still being protected by chilly winds and any inclement weather, a clear tent was used in the lakefront reception space. Greens, pinks, and whites transcended the guests’ tables and wedding cake, while varying hues of slate blue appeared in the bridesmaid dresses, creating a cohesive design look. Devon and Jose wanted to ensure their guests felt comfortable and eliminated some wedding traditions, such as removing the garter to create a more casual gathering feel. In fact, when asked what her favorite part of the day was, Devon responded, “having our friends and family meet one another for the first time!”

The outside space of the venue held the ceremony, where a geometric pampas grass-filled backdrop stood as the couple said their vows. Also found outside was a comfortable lounge area, with shades of rust, hunter green, and teal, adding a unique flare to cocktail hour. Old jugs were used for the seating chart, some being from Jordan’s late grandfather, which she felt was a special way to incorporate pieces of him on her wedding day. For the couple, their love for food and dance made the caterer and DJ at the top of their wedding vendor priority list. The Catering Company delivered a meal that was delicious, while Firefly Productions fulfilled every song on Jordan and Seth’s must-play list.

TRAVEL

Dude Ranches: Adventure Out West

by Get Out! Custom Travels Riding horses together with snow-capped mountains as the backdrop. Relaxing in a hot tub after an adventurous day of hiking and river rafting. Cuddling by the campfire making s’mores. This may sound like scenes from a romantic Hallmark movie, but these are experiences you can have on your honeymoon at a Dude and Guest Ranch.

Summer/Fall 2021

47

DUDE RANCH Located in Western States like Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana, these ranches are often all-inclusive (lodging, meals, and daily horseback riding) and provide opportunities to disconnect from the world while growing closer with your new spouse in breathtaking settings. They are the perfect option if you are looking for adventure, new experiences, great food, and relaxation. Staying on a ranch may seem like it can be too “rustic” for a honeymoon; however, these ranches can range from private cabins to glamping arrangements to luxury lodges. With so many different options, it can feel overwhelming to find the perfect one for your milestone trip. If a Dude or Guest Ranch is something you’d like to consider for your honeymoon, the first step is to decide what kind of ranch experience you and your spouse would like. Are you looking for a ranch that accommodates children, or one that is adults-only? Do you prefer hearty home-style ranch cooking, or do you prefer gourmet food? Asking yourselves these questions can help you narrow down the best location and the best ranch for you.
