Tropical Chic AT MARGARITAVILLE RESORT ORLANDO

This year Florida Wedding Expo hosted their annual vendor appreciation party at Margaritaville Resort Orlando. The theme for the evening was tropical chic, which matched the upscale, tropical vibe of the resort. To highlight this theme, event sponsors participated in a design challenge, where each showcased their own version of tropical chic. The first area in the challenge was a ceremony space, which was sponsored by Orange Blossom Bride. We handmade a classic, geometric ceremony backdrop that filled the width of the space. Atmospheres Floral and Design added amazing floral to enhance the design. Ivory and gold chairs and tall votive candles with a glass cylinder interior gave a unique touch to the space. The final touch of the design was an aisle runner the mimicked the design of the ceremony backdrop. Inside the main ballroom is where the remaining challenge rooms were set up. The reception space was split in two, with each planner taking on their own design. Live Love Laugh Events filled her space with tons of greenery, bold pink linens, pops of color, and gold accents throughout the space. Bamboo chairs were used around the tables, which tied in with the linens perfectly. The theme was evident throughout all of her design aspects, including the lounge area, table settings, cake table, and a fun and colorful dessert display. Participating Vendors:

Bella Sposa Events utilized greenery in her design as well, but instead of the pink went for a blue and green color scheme. She took a similar take on the centerpieces, using tall, gold stands with her floral arrangements on top. Instead of bamboo chairs, she utilized clear ghost chairs to allow the colorful linens take center stage. She also used white on her beautiful dessert cart, and her lounge display was accented with wicker furniture to tie everything together. All three spaces looked incredible, but at the end of the night it was Live Love Laugh Events who was crowned the winner of the design challenge. It was a wonderful night for the Orlando wedding industry. Orange Blossom Bride and all vendors involved were happy to have been a part of it! Fuschia Design Participating Vendors:

Vintage Glam

AT ADAMS ESTATE

This inspiration shoot at has the perfect combination of vintage and glam, with a slight touch of boho vibes. Burgundy and emerald green paired nicely with the neutral tones. One element we fell in love with was the double diamond ceremony backdrop. The straight lines of the geometric backdrop design were beautifully balanced with the use of loose floral arrangements. Gold accents were also used in the decor, including a custom monogram, which was seen in different design elements throughout the shoot, including the cake topper. And of course, did we mention the bride’s cute little furry sidekick?!

Romantic Elegance

AT THE CENTRAL FLORIDA ZOO

Inspired by the European zoological gardens, wedding planner Shadow Anderson of The Chaos Coordinator wanted to show couples another side of the unique wedding venue, the Central Florida Zoo. The design was really enhanced by embracing the simplicity that the venue offers. Lush florals and greenery gave that stunning European flair. Dusty Blue tied in all of the elements on this sophisticated and romantic design.

WEDDING TIPS

3 Reasons a First Look May Be Right for You

by In Style Imagery When planning your wedding day, how do you envision the first moment you will see your spouse to be? Some couples want to first see each other in the traditional walk down the aisle while others opt for a first look before guests arrive for the ceremony. Of course, both are lovely ways to begin your new marriage, and whatever you decide as a couple should reflect your wishes for your wedding day. Let’s look at a few great reasons a first look might be right for you.

20

Orange Blossom Bride

THE PHOTOS

Your photographer will help you find the perfect spot with great lighting and privacy at your venue. The photos captured during this time are filled with emotion, anticipation, and of course lots of love. The smiles, the tears, and affection are genuine and so in the moment, and your photographer will be ready to capture it all. When you get to see each other for the first time during your first look, after all those months of planning, this time spent together is a great opportunity to sneak in your couples portraits. You’ll have time to take some beautiful photos before the whirl wind begins. If you take the time for the couple’s portraits before the ceremony, you’ll save on time afterward creating more time for family, bridal party, and maybe a few more couple’s portraits so you can get to the reception and celebrate!

JUST THE TWO OF YOU Often our couples express how quickly the day went by and the first look provided them with an intimate moment being present with one another and sharing their excitement for what is to come. This quality time is for you, before you share the day with your family and friends.

ALL THE FEELINGS Seeing each other pre-ceremony can help calm your nerves. Many couples have said they feel more calm walking down the aisle after having a first look. The opportunity for sharing all those feelings and thoughts together before the ceremony isn’t all about physically seeing what the

Winter/Spring 2020

other person looks like, but more about sharing your happiness to begin your wedding day and lifetime of marriage. If you do want a first look be sure to let your photographer and planner know so there is plenty of time built into your wedding day schedule. Whichever way you choose to see each other on your wedding day, it will be exciting, full of anticipation, and lots of love. Enjoy the moments together however you find them and begin your big adventure!

Dress Shopping

Tips for Having the Best Experience

Wedding dress shopping is something that many girls dream of their whole life. However, when it comes time to actually start the process, it may seem a bit overwhelming. We sat down with owner of Solutions Bridal, Erica Trunk, to talk about what goes into styling a bride for her wedding day. Here are a few things we learned.

SHARE THE DETAILS Let your stylist in on the details of your wedding day. Tell them about your vision, the venue, and any special details of your wedding. It is also important to communicate with your stylist when it comes to your hopes for your wedding dress. Let them know of any special features you hope for your dream dress to include, and any of your amazing features that you want to show off! It is also helpful to clue them in on any fears or insecurities you may have. Having these conversations with your Winter/Spring 2020

stylist early on will help them provide you with the best (and most personalized) experience.

KEEP AN OPEN MIND It’s really easy to think that a certain “style” may not be the best fit for your body type, but you may be surprised. Try on a variety of styles. When it comes to wedding dresses, one style fits all simply does not apply.

HAVE FUN! Shopping for a wedding dress should be one of the highlights of the wedding planning process. You may have to do a bit of searching, or even a bit of customizing your dress, but rest assured, you WILL find “the one’! WEDDING TIPS

What to Consider When Planning Your First Dance

by Serendipity Dance Studio There are many things to consider when planning a wedding; budget, photography, attire, venue, etc. One thing that tends to get overlooked is the first dance. Many couples decide to “wing it”. Instead of letting the magic of your special day stop with the “high school sway”, a choreographed first dance will create a beautiful moment for you and your soon to be spouse to share with your wedding guests.

26

Orange Blossom Bride

WHEN TO START

We recommend reaching out to us at least 3-4 months prior to your wedding. This will give you enough time to learn and practice a dance routine. Remember, this isn’t “Dancing with the Stars” and most people will need a few lessons just to get the hang of a basic box step!

SONG CHOICE Find a song that encapsulates your relationship and that you won’t get sick of. If it’s not on the radio, you can’t overhear it. If you like a particular artist, check out their lesser known songs. Put some thought into it because every time you hear this one song, you’ll get the butterflies all over again.

CREATING A DANCE When creating a dance, we focus on style, tempo and length. The style of the song dictates what sort of dance, be it a swing, waltz, rumba, etc. The tempo is important because that dictates how fast (or slow) YOU move. As far as timing, we have the capability to edit in-house. Two to Three minutes is a solid amount of time for a first dance song. Remember that time will move slower when dancing in front of a crowd.

A choreographed first dance can keep the magic flowing throughout your wedding. Committing to dance lessons is also a fun and great way to work together and try to release some stress from wedding planning. We absolutely love working with our wedding couples. Our goal is always to prepare a dance that represents you as a couple and to prepare you to dance it confidently. If you have any questions or need help narrowing down your wedding song, Serendipity Dance Studio is here for you!

DANCE LESSONS A couple’s dancing ability is what dictates the number and frequency of the lessons. Most of our couples come to us with little to no dance experience. Our instructors know how to teach the basics and lead into a full choreographed first dance.

Serendipity Dance Studio is located in Downtown Celebration, FL and provides wedding choreography for all types of wedding dances.

TRAVEL

River Cruising

Why it’s Our New Favorite Way to Travel!

When you think of a river cruise, you may think that it’s a vacation for an older crowd. After talking to our honeymoon travel expert, Theresa from Get Out! Custom Travels, we learned that this is not the case. River Cruise companies have been working towards creating a more trendy cruise experience, making it a perfect idea for a honeymoon! Here are a few of our favorite reasons why you should consider a River Cruise!

MULTIPLE DESTINATIONS We can potentially blame Instagram for this, but people are racking up some pretty ambitious vacation destination bucket lists. A river cruise allows you to visit multiple destinations over the course of one vacation. The best part is that unlike an ocean cruise, a river cruise is a port-intensive trip, meaning that you spend more time in each city, allowing you to explore a bit more! Winter/Spring 2020

FLEXIBLE ITINERARY

A river cruise does have activities planned for you, but everything is completely optional. If you would rather skip the morning to have breakfast in a quaint cafe, you are completely free to do so. The flexibility to be able to have included options as well as free time is the best of both worlds! We also love that your cruise staff will be able to guide you and give you recommendations for when you do want to explore a city on your own.

LOCAL CUISINE

One of the best parts of travel is to try the local cuisine. Some may think all-inclusive means that there will be a generic menu. On a river cruise, you are eating fresh, local meals. You may even get the opportunity to try dishes that you wouldn’t have necessarily wanted to try if you went to a local restaurant. REAL WEDDINGS

Sunny Acres Lodge

Tori + Byron When planning their wedding day, Tori and Byron knew that they wanted to include their love for the outdoors. Sunny Acres Lodge fit their vision perfectly. They loved how it was an outdoor venue, but also that the indoor vibe allowed them to feel like they were bringing the outdoors inside. Loose flowers and greenery throughout their decor enhanced the feeling of bringing the outdoors in, giving their wedding the true rustic, garden theme they were going for.

32

Orange Blossom Bride

One of the favorite parts of Tori and Byron’s day was the send off to their reception. Instead of waiting until the end of the night for a send off, the couple had their guests throw flower petals as they made their way to the cocktail hour/ reception area. They chose to do this because they wanted all of their guests to be participating, and knew that if they waited until the end of the night they may run the chance of some of their guests missing out. When asked about tips they had for the wedding planning process, here is what they had to say: We would definitely recommend hiring professional vendors, or at least go with a venue team you trust to help you with the little details on your big day! Sunny Acres had an amazing team & we could not have made our special day happen without them!

REAL WEDDINGS

Venue 1902

Janaye + Patrick Janaye and Patrick loved the look and the feel of their wedding venue from the moment they saw it. Venue 1902 at Preservation Hall truly speaks for itself, so they planned decor elements that would enhance the venue without taking away what was already there. Keeping the integrity of the venue in mind, they went with flowers and decor that was classic and light. Mauve, ivory, and plum with accents of gold perfectly complemented the venue’s white walls and ceiling of the reception space. The soft pink up-lighting, with the glow of the chandeliers, created the perfect ambiance for the evening.

36

Orange Blossom Bride

The couple noted that their ceremony was the best part of the day. They incorporated a hand-washing ceremony and wrote their own vows. These two components made their outdoor wedding ceremony feel intimate and really reflected their love in a special way. When asked if they had any advice for newlywed couples, they had this to say: Take joy in adding “husband” and “wife’ titles into introductions and conversations. It may not always feel that different to be married right after the big day, but simply reflecting on the fact that you just committed to living life with your best friend and biggest fan is sometimes the best part.

The Balcony Orlando

Albert + Logan The Balcony Orlando is a wedding venue that shows off all that The City Beautiful has to offer, all from an 11 story view! This venue boasts rooftop weddings, which allows you to give your guests a few of Lake Eola and the city’s skyline, all while dancing the night away under market lighting that mimics the stars in the night sky. Albert and Logan’s rooftop wedding at The Balcony Orlando was full of color, creativity, and culture. Their wedding took place right in the heart of Downtown Orlando, in front of their closest friends and family. 40

Orange Blossom Bride

The unique design elements were presented right away, as they chose to have a circular wedding ceremony setup. The use of ghost chairs gave this a fantastic modern look. The decor was finished off with four stunning floral arrangements placed on large, white pillars. The flowers were vibrant hues of blue, purple, and pink. For their ceremony, the couple wore traditional Vietnamese attire. The colorful, modern decor transitioned perfectly into reception decor, where they added elegant white detailed tables with glass mirror tops. Their centerpiece was a tall clear vase with teal blue flowers filling the entire vase. The table was finished off with maroon napkins, adding an extra pop of color to their design.

Hub 925

Angela + Graham Angela and Graham envisioned a wedding that was moody and dark while still remaining classic and timeless. The couple loved the atmosphere of their venue, Hub 925. The venue’s vibe allowed them to stay minimalistic in decor. The decor they did choose to include was full of rich color, amazing texture, and a unique cake design.

44

Orange Blossom Bride

They used a mix of round and long farmhouse tables with black linens, lined with greenery. The tablescape was topped off with floral arrangements and candles. One detail that the couple loved was the classic tapered candlesticks and candelabras along with the beautiful florals. All of the candlesticks were thrifted and hand-painted by Angela’s father. Overall, she describes their decor as minimalistic with a little edge. Angela noted that her veil was the most special item that she wore on her wedding day. It was handmade by her grandma for her cousin’s wedding day. Her cousin let her use the veil on her wedding day as her “something borrowed”.
