It has been almost two years since the idea to start Orange Blossom Bride was born. The goal was to create an online resource for engaged Central Florida couples to find local wedding inspiration and local wedding professionals that they could trust to bring their wedding vision to life. It has also given me the opportunity to showcase the gorgeous work of our very talented local wedding industry. I am so excited with how far the blog has come since its inception, but it wouldn’t be possible without all the support from our readers and the local wedding community. As we evalutated what the future holds for Orange Blossom Bride, expanding to print seemed like the perfect next step! This is the introductory issue of Orange Blossom Bride’s Central Florida wedding magazine. Starting in 2018, there will be three issues a year which will provide our readers with inspiration and tips for their Central Florida weddings. These editions will be available at many local wedding venues and wedding vendor locations in the area, as well as online. Again, thank you so much for all your support!

Top 3 Tips for Plann ing Your Central Flor ida Wedding By: Leah Langley of Leah Langley Photography You’re getting married in Florida! Yay! Whether you live someplace else or in Florida, planning a wedding in this lovely state requires some additional considerations. This will help you have a seamless day without the unique hiccups a Florida wedding can sometimes have.
Outdoor Wedding Cer emon ies If you want to be surrounded with Florida’s tropical environment while you say your vows, make sure to avoid having your ceremony between 10 AM and 5 PM between the months of April and November. Find out when sunset will be, and take that into consideration. Unless there is high shade, like under a canopy of live oaks or other natural shade, make it a quick ceremony with refreshments for your guests. Always have a backup weather plan.
Heat v. Heat Index Florida is hot. That’s no shocking statement, but not everyone knows why Florida sometimes feels hotter than it should. The heat index combines air temperature and humidity to give a “feels like” temperature. When it is 93º F, and the humidity is at 85%, the heat index is well over 120º. This is also based on the shade, so if you’re in the sun, it can feel much worse. Take into consideration the ages of your guests and/ or medical conditions when planning your outdoor wedding.
Room R eservations If you book your wedding at a large resort with expectation that your guests will stay on property, make sure to read the fine print about the hotel holding a block of rooms for your guests. I had a client who booked a large resort for their wedding and 8 months before their wedding, the hotel booked a large convention and there were no rooms left for her guests. Make the booking policy clear for your guests so they know to book their rooms ASAP. 5

Orange Blossom Bride
The Let Love Blossom Engagement Give-A-Way was tru-
ly a magical stylized engagement session which took place at one of Central Florida’s newest venues, the Emerald Fox in Tavares, Florida. Many engaged couples entered for their chance to get pampered by some of Central Florida’s best wedding professionals from photography to hair and makeup; however, only one lucky couple prevailed. On April 18th, Christie and Eddie arrived at the Emerald Fox where a team of vendors designed two sets for their engagement session. Both sets were carefully crafted to reflect both Christie and Eddie’s style and tastes. The indoor set was a cozy, pillow lounge complete with a mixture of fur textiles, plush pillows, and a 14-foot garland for the fireplace mantle. The outdoor set had a wooden arbor with illusion greenery hoops that made them look like they were floating mid-air. A classic settee was placed in the center of the arbor creating a whimsical and natural look.

I
am a floral designer, a creative, a person who likes to think outside of the box. In discussions with Dina Engler of Casa di Bella, I simply said, “I want to play with the beauty of the bridal gowns and an idea was born. I wanted to showcase beautiful dresses and I wanted to use flowers and floral designs that are a little outside of the box for an every day bride. The idea turned into one of the most impressive collaborations I have ever been a part of and I am so grateful to every member of the team who made this happen!
Tr endy: With the Pantone Color of the year being Greenery, this bouquet was designed with color and texture in mind. The loosely gathered bouquet had all the best of spring; parrot tulips, helliborous, spray roses, astilbe, and ferns. It was a green goddess of springtime! Photos: Captured by Elle

Classic: The most traditional bouquet with a beautiful selection of roses, stock, tulips, dusty miller and silver dollar eucalyptus create the perfect blend of ivory to champagne with the touch of silvery green. To add a little texture to the bouquet, the use of astrantia and hypericum berries were used in the design. The slight use of texture and blended shades of cream and champagne make this bouquet an iconic bridal style. Photos: Flora Bloom Photography
Walking on the Wild Side: A tropical oasis of flowers! The bouquet has a plethora of tropical foliage used to create texture and depth and large vibrant blooms as an explosion of color. This bouquet style will set your wedding day look apart with its unique composition! Photo: Jessica Connery Photography
Tr ending Now: A bouquet isn’t just a bouquet anymore! A hand woven wreath frame creates the foundation for a unique artistic floral bouquet. The willow was hand woven with the tips loosely spraying from the center, ferns and flowers cascaded from this hand made frame, and while the colors are traditional this “bouquet” breaks every rule in the book! For ease of holding, a ribbon was used as a handle. Photos: Jamie Reinhart Photography

Classic Cascade: Recently, the cascade bouquet has made a return to bridal bouquets. This bouquet has trailing ivy, hanging green amaranthus, cascading sweet peas, and delicate lisanthus and ranunculus. To keep it on the classic side the design was created with pastel shades of lavender, soft blush pink, and ivory. To compliment, the bouquet of floral crown of pink wax flower and spray roses was worn by the bride. Photos: Rudy & Marta Photography
Br ight and Bold: The next big move in wedding fashion: bold pops of color utilized in style and design. This bouquet blends the loose natural garden style with a tropical pop of colors. Large blooms such as pink ginger and pink protea steel the show, with fuschia pink roses and tulips accenting this stunning showpiece. Photo: Sophia’s Art Photography

Top 3 Tips for Finding Your Wedding Dr ess By: Dina Engler of Casa di Bella Bridal Boutique
Selecting the perfect dress for your wedding day can seem frustrating and overwhelming at times, but this part of your wedding planning should be fun and exciting. Here are some tips to help you through the process.
Start Ear ly Most brides don’t realize that it takes 4-5 months for most designers to make the dress and then you also need 2 months for alterations. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to find your dream dress, so this fun part of planning a wedding doesn’t become stressful. Depending on the designer, delivery, and accessories, the whole process can take up to 10 months.
Do Some R esearch
Pin dresses you like on your Pinterest board, so your bridal consultant will have an idea of what types of dresses you like. Bridal magazines and designer websites are also great places to find dresses that you might be interested in trying on. Also, think about what price range you want to stay in. At Casa di Bella, we
like to know the price range, so we don’t pull dresses that are out of your range. It leaves the brides feeling disappointed and frustrated if they fall in love with a dress that does not fall in their price range. The more guidance you can provide for the consultant, the better.
Keep an Open Mind This is the most important tip! We love for our brides to give us ideas of what they like, but you really need to trust your bridal consultant. She may choose a dress that looks like a paper bag on the hanger, but turns out to be drop-dead gorgeous on you!! If it is your first time trying on dresses, the consultant will usually try on several different types of silhouettes – ball gown, fit and flare, a-line, etc… We just want to help you narrow down which type of fit you like the best.

Orange Blossom Bride
The Warbird Museum’s hangar with vintage
time period planes set the stage for this Fly Away with Me shoot. Wedding planner and designer, Jacqueline Leierer of Sincerely Yours Weddings & Events, was inspired by the idea of a whirlwind 1950s love affair with a slight Cuban flare. She wanted to create something with bright tropical colors without having the feeling of a beach wedding. The design dialed back the bright florals with a muted olive in the napkins and the use of greenery in the arrangements, classic ivory for linens and signage, and gold accents to keep everything warm. The two real-life couples both had different vibes with the first portraying a formal affair and the second with more laid-back attire for their quick ceremony and last minute flight to their honeymoon.

Tucked away within the lush gardens,
you’d never know The Courtyard at Lake Lucerne was located amongst the hustle and bustle of Downtown Orlando. Andrew and Jamie’s wedding theme of natural romance was found throughout their decor. Their ceremony and reception were filled with neutral and cream textiles, luscious greenery, and pops of white and gold accents. Jamie’s bridal look was sweet and romantic. She wore a beautiful Mori Lee ivory lace gown with an elegant low back and delicate shoulder straps. Her shoes were black heels embellished with cat whiskers, nose and ears! Andrew and his groomsmen looked great in their cobalt blue suits. The newlyweds enjoyed a last dance in the courtyard at the end of reception, then were sent off by the guests with a sparkler exit.

Casa Feliz is definitely one of
the gems of Winter Park. Its beautiful Old World Spanish Farmhouse architecture made for a gorgeous backdrop to Samantha and Jarryd’s wedding. The couple said their “I Do’s” in front of the venue’s entrance on a clear Florida spring day. Samantha looked absolutely stunning in an incredible Ines Di Santo gown from Solutions Bridal. After the ceremony, guests enjoyed an avocado bar before moving to the reception space, which was located in the venue’s courtyard. The space was draped with Edison lights and lanterns that put off the perfect glow for the evening. Instead of the traditional wedding cake, the couple opted for delicious flaming donuts provided by Arthur’s Catering and Events.
