Super intuitive designs and innovations such as Smart Antenna Technology allow our vision to become a reality.

SAFTEY ACADEMY Preventing accidents through education is the aim of the SAFETY ACADEMY. Founded in 2008, we educate around 1200 people per year in the field with the aid of our partner mountaineering schools and we provide a wide variety of training resources. Included in these resources are our GUIDE BOOK, the interactive SAFETY ACADEMY LAB on ortovox. com, our 3D mountain SAM and numerous talks from experts as well as workshops.

AVABAG is the EXTREMELY LIGHT AIRBAG SYSTEM. Thanks to INNOVATIVE AIRBAG PROCESSING TECHNOLOGY, whereby the material is processed for the first time ever WITHOUT SEWING or ADDITIONAL SEALING, and thanks to the drastically REDUCED VENTURI UNIT, we have managed to achieve a sensational system weight of 690* g. Together with his team of experts, the Canadian avalanche researcher Pascal Haegeli analyzed 106 avalanche accidents that occurred with airbag users. The result was frightening â&#x20AC;&#x201C; one in eight airbag users (12%) did not manage to activate the system during an avalanche. Regular training and our release-optimized grip can help to reduce this number in the future.

AVABAG ASCENT 22 ASCENT means total emphasis on SAFETY. We have developed a TECHNOLOGICAL ULTRA-LIGHT AVALANCHE AIRBAG BACKPACK that has been adapted in every aspect to our AVABAG SYSTEM, making even the longest and most demanding ski tours possible. In order to achieve the low total weight of 1830 g (incl. system and cartridge), we’ve used EXTREMELY LIGHT yet ABRASION-RESISTANT MATERIALS such as Nylon 100D Robic Ripstop, and we’ve also forgone the use of all nonessential components. However, we haven’t forgotten about HIGH WEAR COMFORT. The FOAMED 3D BACK SYSTEM distributes the weight evenly between the hip fins and the padded shoulder straps. The CIRCULAR FRONTAL ZIPPER provides quick access to equipment, the diagonal ski attachment, ice axe holder and rope fastener, which are all very easy to use.

AVABAG FREE RIDER 20 S For this EXTREMELY LIGHT AIRBAG SYSTEM we have developed a freerider backpack that provides the HIGHEST LEVEL OF PROTECTION. The redevelopment of the SPS FLEX BACK PROTECTOR is the main focus, which combines the back system and protector into a FLEXIBLE UNIT. Built from EIGHT PADS, which remain comfortably flexible even in the cold, the TÜV-certified protector adapts to the body and absorbs impacts through the immediate hardening of the foam. Meanwhile, the broad hip belt and the FREE RIDER’s silhouette, which integrates with the body, ensures a SECURE FIT on the back. We have completely redesigned the series’ inner to aid packing. Thanks to this redesign, we have been able to produce 20 liters of fully-utilizable volume for our AVABAG unit. Outside, the tried and tested freeride features come into action, whereby we have significantly optimized the helmet and snowboard holder.

MOUNTAIN SAFETY Our company’s ROOTS are in emergency products. WE STAND FOR MAXIMUM PROTECTION, SIMPLICITY, RELIABILITY and INDEFATIGABLE PIONEERING SPIRIT. Over the past 36 years, ORTOVOX has revolutionized the avalanche transceiver market and enriched it with continual new technologies: in 1980 we presented the first avalanche transceiver that was able to search and transmit on the two predominating frequencies at the time. In 1989 we introduced the F1 – the first device to enable VISUAL SEARCHING. In the following decades, LEDs became the industry standard. Optical searching reached its CLIMAX in 2007 with the S1, with the RELATIVE POSITION of buried victims indicated on a large display. Just three years later we invented the SMART-ANTENNA TECHNOLOGY™ which for the first time allows transmission on two antennas. All of them are innovations that can save lives in an emergency. GERMAN INNOVATIONS completely developed and produced by ORTOVOX. As of 2013 we now offer the COMPLETE SAFETY SETUP. Reduced to two functional buttons, the ZOOM+ concentrates on intuitive usability. More easily found with the ZOOM+! The integrated SMART-ANTENNA-TECHNOLOGY™ analyzes the position of the antennas in the avalanche and AUTOMATICALLY SWITCHES TO THE BEST TRANSMISSION ANTENNA. The result: ALMOST DOUBLE THE RANGE in the worst coupling position, regardless of the beacon used for searching.

SECONDARY AVALANCHE SWITCHOVER We have added a MOTION SENSOR to the ZOOM+ to enable SECONDARY AVALANCHE SWITCHOVER. If the sensor has not detected any motion for 120 seconds during the search, it automatically switches back to transmit mode. Thus rescuers can also be found if there has been a secondary avalanche.

RECCO REFLECTOR INSIDE For maximum protection, we´ve also equipped our transceivers with a Recco reﬂector. Recco helps professional rescuers find victims buried in the snow even faster. This offers an ADDITIONAL POSSIBILITY of being found quickly. The backup technology is used by more than 700 ski areas and rescue teams around the world.

SEARCHING EASIER INTUITIVE DESIGN

INTUITIVE DESIGN We’ve SLIMMED DOWN the ZOOM+ to its most important elements. With only two buttons, faulty operation is virtually impossible. Once switched on, the user can switch between sending and searching modes using the safety switch. Further search instructions are then displayed on the large LED display. A soft rubber ring around the outside of the device ensures easy handling and provides additional protection. To prevent loss, we’ve given the ZOOM+ an elastic hand loop and practical carrying case.

VISUAL + ACOUSTIC SEARCH The ZOOM+ focuses the person searching on the large display in the middle of the device. LEDs are used to show the distance to the victim, the direction using arrows and if there is more than one victim. Large LEDs are easy to read especially in poor visibility conditions and at night. The VISUAL SEARCH MODE IS SUPPORTED BY INTUITIVE SEARCH ACOUSTICS. Higher and fast sounds tell you that you are approaching the avalanche victim. The sophisticated sound sequence clearly signals when buried victims are near.

Arrows indicate the DIRECTION TOWARDS THE VICTIM. DISTANCE DISPLAY At distances of 40 m or greater from the victim, the distance display will be stable.

The display blinks when MULTIPLE VICTIMS are within close range (approx. 10 m). At greater distances from the victims, the display is illuminated continuously.

The sophisticated sound sequence clearly signals when buried victims are near.

FLAGGING FUNCTION The number of people buried is shown in a list on the display of the S1+. HOW DO THE 3 ANTENNAS OF AN AVALANCHE BEACON WORK?

Modern avalanche transceivers utilize three ANTENNAS (X, Y, Z). AVALANCHE TRANSCEIVER IN SEARCH MODE During searching, all three antennas are used. The X and the Y antennas are used to display range and direction. The Z antenna is used for close search only (the final few meters). AVALANCHE TRANSCEIVER IN TRANSMITTING MODE WITHOUT SMART-ANTENNA: Devices without a Smart-Antenna can send only over the X antenna.

WITH SMART-ANTENNA: ORTOVOX units S1+, 3+, and ZOOM+ with Smart-Antenna technology are the only units on the market that can SEND OVER BOTH THE X AND Y ANTENNAS. This greatly extends the victim’s transmission range (up to double), making it much easier to find the buried person. We can therefore say that the victim has greater VISIBILITY for the rescuer.

THE POSITION OF THE BURIED TRANSCEIVER IN THE AVALANCHE IS CRITICAL FOR HOW VISIBLE IT WILL BE FOR THE RESCUER. WHY? The transceiver can have two basic POSITIONS in the avalanche: HORIZONTAL or VERTICAL.

A vertically oriented transmission antenna results in POOR VISIBILITY due to its MINIMAL SURFACE AREA coverage in the search range. SAFETY ACADEMY MOUNTAIN 3D WE BRIDGE THE GAP BETWEEN THEORY AND PRACTICE! KURT WALDE, seasoned mountain guide and mountain guide trainer in South Tyrol, recognized the gap and, with loving attention to detail, developed a wooden model of the mountain that combined the most relevant mountain shapes. “Patented Flash Assembly“ stands for reliable tensioning within seconds and just as quick release and folding. Tensioning: simply hold the last element and remove the cap. The elements are secured and the probe is ready for use. Release: engage the quick release and the probe is ready to be folded.

The strongest aluminum available - used in our high-end safety products for optimal balance between weight and rigidity. The 6061 aluminum T6 is used in all ORTOVOX shovel handles and the blade of the KODIAK.

7075 ALUMINUM T6

This type of aluminum is light yet rigid and, therefore, our ﬁrst choice for many of our shovel scoops.

Light and stiff and thus the aluminum of our choice for all aluminum probes. We use different tube diameters between 11 and 13 mm meaning: the thicker the diameter, the heavier and stiffer the probe.

CARBON Our premium probes are made of carbon. The material is extremely stiff, yet very light. Another advantage is the low thermal conductivity of the material – the probe is more resistant to freezing.

5052 ALUMINUM

D-GRIFF The D-handle is regarded as the king of all handles. Its orientation and ergonomics allow for maximum lift. Thus you can remove more snow without tiring.

CONICAL HANDLE + RUBBERIZATION

Steel is extremely rigid and sturdy. When weight is not a factor, but reliability and probing accuracy play a major role, steel is the ﬁrst choice!

The shovel handle has an oval cross section, which gives it better durability than round cross sections. The same is true for the stiffness. The force transmission and thus the shoveling performance are much higher. Most of our shovel handles are telescopic – this reduces the pack size and enables economic handling.

MOUNTAIN BACKPACKS Four years after the company‘s foundation in 1981 we developed our first BACKPACK MODEL. We realized 31 years ago that a backpack is an essential part of a full set of EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT (avalanche transceiver, shovel, probe). The models developed back then were still archaically called »DEEP SNOW BACKPACKS«, yet already followed the safety principle back in 1985 that still inspires us to this day in all product ranges. During over a quarter of a century‘s experience in designing backpacks, a number of INNOVATIONS can be attributed to us. Standard features like an integrated back protector, a SAFETY COMPARTMENT, which allows quick access to the emergency equipment, or access to the main compartment via the back system, were established by ORTOVOX. Today our backpacks stand for the highest QUALITY, innovative DETAILS, FUNCTIONALITY as well as unique DESIGN, based on a vast wealth of experience.

TOUR SERIES HAUTE ROUTE 32 The HAUTE ROUTE has been around almost since the birth of ski touring. Following a new makeover it is now much LIGHTER and, thanks to the use of Cordura® and double-layered Nylon 420D, even more RESISTANT TO ABRASION. We have also taken the O-Flex back system to the next level. More technical and slender in appearance, it distributes the weight in a tried and tested way between the hips and shoulders to ensure OUTSTANDING WEAR COMFORT. Typical in this series is the access to the main compartment on the back as well as being generously equipped. The new edition also comes with crampon fastening, a fixed helmet net, a map compartment and an external rope fastening. Using a highly complicated process we have managed to produce the backs from pressed Swiss wool. In exactly the same way as with the clothing, you beneﬁt from the wool’s perfect MOISTURE AND MICROCLIMATE MANAGEMENT, and it therefore feels comfortable and DRY ON YOUR BACK. The wide, padded shoulder and hip straps distribute the weight of the load evenly between the shoulders and hips. To determine the BACK LENGTH, use a measuring tape to measure yourself from the TOP OF THE HIP BONE UP TO the 7TH CERVICAL VERTEBRA (it clearly protrudes).

Our S-backpacks are SPECIALLY DESIGNED FOR WOMEN AND MEN WITH SHORTER BACKS They are primarily characterized by their significantly shorter back system, which makes them PERFECT FOR PEOPLE WITH SHORT BACKS. The hip and shoulder straps have also been adapted to the FEMALE ANATOMY: The shoulder straps are thinner and shorter and have a pronounced S-shape. However, the hip fins are shorter and conical formed.

SWISSWOOL FULL CONTACT The Swisswool backs on our HIGH ALPINE SERIES backpacks are made of pressed WOOL FLEECE with a punchhole covering. Thanks to the wool, the backpack can ABSORB MUCH MORE MOISTURE FROM THE BACK and at the same time is MORE BREATHABLE than conventional backpacks that are made using foam material, for example. A further advantage of wool is that the surface of the back system dries faster. The FULL CONTACT BACK fits closely to the body and offers optimum weight distribution. The back design consists of three aluminum struts that offer HIGH STABILITY and guarantee GREAT COMFORT, even when the backpack is heavily loaded.

O-FLEX The back system was developed in collaboration with physicians from the Rückenzentrum München (Munich Back Center). It evenly DISTRIBUTES THE LOAD between the shoulders and the hips, providing GREATER WEAR COMFORT and MUSCLE RELIEF.

NEOPREN Neoprene is a foamed elastomer, both sides of which are normally coated with Spandex in order to make the surface less susceptible to damage. Due to ist OUTSTANDING STRETCHABILITY, we use Neoprene in our FREE RIDER hip belts, ensuring a perfect fit every time. On our shoulder straps it protects the ABS grip or acts as INSULATION for the drinking tube.

SPS PRO2 This anatomically shaped protector is TÜV-CERTIFIED (according to strict motorcycle standard EN 1621-2, Level 1) and consists of flexible visco-elastic foam that retains ist good shock absorption properties even when the temperature drops. It is REMOVABLE AND CAN BE USED SEPARATELY with the included straps. At just 300 g in the largest size, it is truly lightweight. Ventilation holes ensure a good exchange of air.

HYPALON

We were one of the first companies to use hypalon in the construction of our backpacks. The material is now used anywhere that sharp, pointed items could damage a backpack. Hypalon is RESISTANT to cold and VIRTUALLY INDESTRUCTIBLE.

All of our back pads are covered with Spandex. Spandex is an elastic PU yarn known for ist robust yet soft surface, giving it a very high level of comfort. The surface structure is so fine that NOT EVEN SNOW WILL STICK TO IT – making it ideal for our winter backpacks!

Extremely lightweight and abrasion-resistant at the same time. It is THE LIGHTEST MATERIAL we have ever used for our backpacks. Thanks to a special pretreatment, the yarn and, therefore, the entire fabric is VERY STURDY. The PU coating on the inside makes the fabric WATERPROOF.

We have become attuned to ultra-deep powder dumps, snowflakes the size of tennis balls and deep snow runs that require snorkels in order to breathe. In February 2015, however, HOKKAIDO greeted us with some EXTREME WEATHER CONDITIONS. Instead of soft powder, we descended in the pouring rain into Toray’s high tech laboratory. Insights into the world of the Japanese innovation giant for us – feedback about the practical suitability of the new GUARDIAN SHELL collection for Toray and the ORTOVOX product team. This is a PARTNERSHIP shaped by a long-standing trust and the power of two unique cultures and FRIENDSHIP, which we sometimes even experience together in the mountains. Inside is the FINEST MERINO WOOL to form a foundation in comfort, before the new c_changeTM membrane by Schoeller comes into play. MERINO NATURETEC LIGHT PIZ DULEDA JACKET Our most athletic material! This Light version has the same structure as our classic Naturetec material but is much LIGHTER AND MORE BREATHABLE. FAIR WEAR FOUNDATION PROTECTION – the ORTOVOX core brand value – has various faces. For this reason we aim to offer 360° protection with our products – protection for the user against DIFFICULT SITUATIONS ON THE MOUNTAIN, protection for nature, but also protection for our production chain workers AGAINST EXPLOITATION. In order to be able to structurally improve the working conditions in this complex and multilayered system, we joined the FAIR WEAR FOUNDATION in JULY 2015.

The FAIR WEAR FOUNDATION is an INDEPENDENT NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION that is cooperatively led by retailer organizations and representatives from the textile industry, trade associations and non-government organizations with the AIM to IMPROVE the WORKING CONDITIONS in the TEXTILE INDUSTRY WORLDWIDE. To do that, the foundation has defined the following working guidelines, which are implemented in the ORTOVOX factories:

THE FAIR WEAR FOUNDATION MONITORS ITS MEMBERS’ IMPROVEMENTS THROUGH: • Yearly performance reviews at the company headquarters (questionnaires plus interviews plus document inspection) • Factory audits • The opportunity for factory workers to lodge complaints.

THE FOUNDATION OF THIS IS A THREE YEAR PLAN THAT DEFINES THE FOLLOWING GOALS: • After one year, 40% of the production must come from audited factories • After two years, 60% • After 3 years, 90% or 100%

Currently our textile production chain consists of 18 COMPANIES in 9 COUNTRIES. 50% OF ALL PRODUCTS come from EUROPE. When choosing suitable factories, we use the FAIR WEAR FOUNDATION guidelines as a basis and work exclusively with companies that share our ETHICAL and MORAL PRINCIPLES and advocate suitable working conditions. The continual improvement of working conditions is an ON-GOING PROCESs without an end date. We are determined to follow this path so that we can continue to wear our products with a CLEAR CONSCIENCE in the future!

SWISSWOOL

SWISSWOOL BLACK

Our Insulation line contains Swiss wool. This is the finest virgin wool with Swiss origins from the canton of Wallis. Swisswool places particular value on sustainable production and regional origin. Long transport routes are avoided whenever possible. Virgin wool is extremely lightweight and has excellent insulation properties. Numerous air pockets are created around the virgin wool, which can store large volumes of heat. If you pack the clothing items together, the air escapes and the products can be compressed to extremely small sizes.

Virgin wool from black Swiss sheep is used as the filler material for our SWISSWOOL BLACK and the 2L SWISSWOOL BLACK collections. Virgin wool is excellent insulation material: air becomes trapped between the wool fibers and provides plenty of warmth. The lightweight wool also compresses perfectly. Another advantage of wool is that it can absorb up to 30% of its own weight in moisture without feeling wet to the touch. SWISSWOOL BLACK is produced by the company swisswool and stands out just like white Swiss wool thanks to its regional origin and sustainable production.

MERINO NATURETEC + NATURETEC LIGHT

DERMIZAX® NX

In our MERINO NATURETEC lines, we do without a membrane completely. The fine merino fibers are interwoven with the Naturetec material from the Swiss manufacturer schoeller®. The advantage: The material is extremely breathable and still provides protection against wind, light precipitation and dirt. The surface has a microstructure that causes water and even dirt particles to lastingly roll off. The combination of merino wool and durable polyamide is extremely robust and elastic – making it ideal for high-action sports. The merino wool on the skin ensures good wear comfort and ideal microclimate management in any type of weather and at any temperature.

In our new MERINO HARDSHELL collection, we use the Toray Dermizax® NX membrane – the highest-performance membrane on the market today! Unlike conventional membranes, this Japanese-made membrane is smart. It functions best when warm. The structure is not made up of micropores but is closed.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN NATURETEC AND NATURETEC LIGHT The two materials differ solely in terms of thickness, which also dictates their use (moderate/intense activities). The Light version weighs 175 g/m2, and the somewhat heavier standard version weighs in at 230 g/m2. However, the structures are identical. ADVANTAGES It is extremely breathable (up to 55,000 g/m2/24 h), windproof and completely waterproof (min. 20,000 mm H2O). Even with little care, maximum outward diffusion is guaranteed. Dermizax® NX is ideal for high-action sports – the membrane can be stretched by 200 % with no risk of delamination. Another feature that sets it apart from other membranes is ist environmentally friendly, PFC-less production. In the new MERINO HARDSHELL collection, we additionally use our MERINO MESH as a liner material – this creates a buffer effect that enhances the performance of the membrane (see “MERINO MESH”). PERTEX MICROLIGHT

The EV membrane works according to the same principle as that of the Dermizax® NX membrane used in our MERINO GUARDIAN SHELL and glove collection.

We use Pertex Microlight as the outer material for all our SWISSWOOL LIGHT and SWISSWOOL LIGHT TEC products. It is light, very durable and scuff-resistant. The windproof material is also soft and comfortable.

The difference between the two Japanese membranes lies mainly in the breathability, which is slightly lower for the Dermizax® EV (up to 45,000 g/m2/24h). The values waterproofing (min. 20,000 mm H2O) and stretch are identical to those of the NX membrane. Another prominent advantage over other membranes is the environmentally friendly, PFC-less production.

MATERIAL PERTEX MICROLIGHT 100% Polyamide (Nylon)

Our MERINO GUARDIAN SHELL is lined with merino wool laminated spotwise to the Toray membrane. Merino wool can absorb large quantities of moisture and then slowly release it back into the air. This buffer action supports the membrane, enables ideal management of temperature and moisture, and provides odor control. TENCEL® We use TENCEL® for all products in the MERINO COOL range. This natural fiber is obtained from eucalyptus cellulose in a highly environmentally-friendly manner and free from pollutants. In addition to TENCEL®‘s COOLING properties, the fiber also inhibits bacterial growth and has an extremely smooth fiber surface. CLASSIC WOOL Our Classic Wool line is made of 100?% pure virgin wool. Virgin wool has the distinct advantage of trapping a great deal of air and thus providing warmth even when wet. Depending on the product, we use 2, 3 or 4 strands of yarns. More yarn strands mean more protection and more warmth.

MATERIALS GLOSSARY

Supersoft stands for a combination of the finest Merino wool and Lenzing Modal. Modal is used on the inside and is as soft as silk. Modal is a pure, natural fiber manufactured from beech wood cellulose. The fiber comes solely from wood from sustainably managed beech forests. Lenzing is the perfect companion to the functionality of Merino fiber – a scratch-free material meets the popular Merino properties. Ideally suited for highly sensitive skin!

MERINO PUNCHHOLE

Consisting of one loden layer, a membrane and a loden punchhole layer, we use this three-layered material in many of our products. The inner layer made from 100% finest merino wool feels comfortably soft on the skin; the membrane provides the necessary protection.

Protection meets breathability! Merino Punchhole has a sandwich design: on the outside we use a blend of polyamide and lycra that facilitates moisture management through its hole structure. Underneath the wind and waterproof membrane there is a layer of 100 % merino wool that provides comfort and the familiar merino functionality. Quality made in Switzerland!

Our most sporty line is nearly seamless, using a circular knitting process. This process enables us to position different material thicknesses on different body areas. The base consists of 190 g/m2 Merino, a thin Merino mesh is applied to areas of heavy perspiration, 240 g Merino is used for particularly cold-sensitive areas and an elastic ribbed structure is used in areas that require great freedom of movement.

Represents the ultimate in functionality. We combine the finest Merino wool with the polyester and elastane shell. We deliberately avoid using a membrane so as not to lay any obstacles in the way of breathability. The material is extremely stretchy and robust and impresses through ist sensational body temperature control due to the brushed Merino wool on the inside.

The high-end yarn structure of Nuyarn improves the performance and function of the wool. Nylon forms the core of Nuyarn. The synthetic polyamide fiber is particularly tear-resistant, elastic and light. Merino wool is wrapped around the nylon center, creating a yarn composition that combines all of the positive features of synthetic fibers and merino wool. Nuyarn â&#x20AC;&#x201C; improves the functionality of merino wool. Your time on the mountain will be an experience to remember thanks to the improved performance of our Nuyarn merino clothing.

The mixed fabric with a high proportion of merino (63 %), as well as polyester (21 %), polyamide (16 %), has extremely good drying properties, is very breathable, and highly pilling resistant. During production, two layers of 160 g/m2 thickness are laminated together, producing what we know as TEC-FLEECE. The jackets offer light water resistance, extremely high breathability and a material composition that is excellent for wicking away excess moisture.

MERINO NATURETEC PLUS

MERINO ATHLETIC

The MERINO NATURETEC softshell line stands for pure functionality. The outer material is elastic and robust (40,000 abrasion cycles in the Martindale test) and, thanks to the new c_changeTM membrane by Schöller, wind and water (> 10,000mm water column) have no chance to get inside. The active membrane reacts immediately to the build-up of sweat with special damp and temperature management: when it’s cold, it closes itself – as soon as the body becomes too hot, it opens the pores in order to regulate temperature and sweat production. The finest merino wool on the inside provides the highest level of wear comfort.

This material combination with maximum breathability is used in zones in products such as the MERINO NATURETEC LIGHT series, designed for highly demanding activities. The outside consists of a lightweight, extremely elastic blend of nylon and elastane. On the inside of this thin layer, pure merino wool has been knitted in. Merino wool has outstanding moisture-regulating properties, a neutral odor, and the unique merino microclimate. The knit blend made of fine merino wool and polyester is used in diverse products – usually as a liner material. MERINO MESH feels good against the skin and contributes considerably to the unique merino microclimate. MERINO FIBERS buffer moisture and transport it to the surrounding air without feeling wet to the touch.

The MERINO SHIELD SHELL softshell line stands for maximum protection. The high proportion of Cordura® (71%) makes the product long-lasting and very resilient. Cordura® is a registered brand name of the Swiss company Invista. The fibers consist of a high-strength polyamide (nylon 6.6) with superior tear and abrasion-resistant properties compared to those of normal nylon materials. The robustness of the material mix of Cordura®, merino wool and Lycra was demonstrated by the Martindale test: this material mix can withstand at least 80,000 abrasion cycles. Thanks to the use of highly elastic Lycra fibers, the material has an elasticity of 20%. Finest merino wool on the inside guarantees great wear comfort and a pleasant microclimate, and a high level of breathability through the non-membrane design.

MATERIALS GLOSSARY

We have combined the advantages of neoprene with those of merino wool. Neoprene is particularly elastic, soft and insulating. Due to its fine hole pattern it ensures excellent moisture management in combination with the merino wool below it. To provide even better insulation, the merino 240 is terry lined. The cavities between the fibers allow air to collect, which serves as a warming cushion and ensures excellent wear comfort.
