President’s Message

DONNIE MARTINEZ 2021 PRESIDENT

Hello everyone, I’m Donnie Martinez, your 2021 President here with your April update. The National Association of Realtors® recognizes April as Fair Housing Month because we, as Realtors®, are committed to the mission and intent of Congress to provide fair housing for everyone. The Fair Housing Act, created on April 11, 1968, added into federal law the goal of eliminating racial segregation and ending housing discrimination in the United States. The Fair Housing Act prohibits discrimination in housing and commits recipients of federal funding to further fair housing in their communities. We are fortunate to have our local government supporting our efforts. The Osceola County Board of County Commissioners and both cities, Kissimmee and St. Cloud, are recognizing Fair Housing Month with proclamations. We hope you will do your part to ensure everyone has the chance to have the American dream of homeownership. April is also known for April Fool’s Day—that’s your warning so don’t fall for it if someone tells you a crazy story. And now your joke of the month-Why do buyer’s agents give their clients bees for their pockets? Because beauty is in the eye of the BEE-holder. And last but not least, we hope you have a wonderful Easter. Thank you for taking them time to watch my video and thank you for your membership!

Annual Subscription Renewal is Coming Up

Stellar MLS is proud to be your MLS provider with customer service you can count on. Your MLS annual subscription invoice will be posted to your MLS account on April 1. Your upcoming Stellar MLS subscription renewal includes your Stellar MLS base fee and your Local Service Center (LSC) fee from the Realtor® organization you belong to. Your 2021-2022 MLS subscription invoice will reflect a $25 increase in pricing for the billing year. In the coming year, Stellar MLS is investing in technology upgrades that will benefit all customers. Stellar MLS is committed to positioning agents and brokers to thrive in tomorrow’s competitive real estate market by continuing to offer the industry’s best products and world-class customer service in an ever-changing technology landscape. RPAC Note: Some Stellar MLS Realtor® organizations have included an option to donate to the Realtors® Political Action Committee (RPAC) in their invoices. To vote for your favorite pet, please visit https://rpacpawscars.givesmart.com. You’ll be directed to a page that looks like the image above. From here, you should first register your account if you haven’t already. If you’ve participated in previous RPAC auctions or events, you can use the same login information. Once you’ve registered your account, you’ll be able to vote for your favorite pets! You can select “View Items” to see the entries. To narrow down which category you’d like to see, scroll down and select one of the 5 categories. Once you’ve selected the pet along with their corresponding category, select the “Place Bid” button. JUSTIN SHROUDER REALTORS® CARE COMMITTEE CHAIR

The Realtors® Care Committee had another exciting month! Along with our weekly involvement in the Council on Aging’s Meals on Wheels program, we also had a great turnout at the March for Meals 5k. Our group of members, friends, and family was over 20! We love getting involved and being a visual presence within our community! In the coming months we will be involved with Give Kids the World Village, Osceola History, Council on Aging, and the Florida Realtors Waterway Clean-up. Remember, you do not have to be a committee member to get involved in these great events.

Committee The RPAC Committee’s Pawscars contest is in full swing! Members have submitted their pets in one or multiple categories and we need your votes! Votes are just $1 and go towards your 2021 RPAC contributions! Our association has a big goal this year and we are bringing fun and exciting ways NICHOLAS SHROUDER to you to help you be more active in RPAC while trying to RPAC COMMITTEE CHAIR reach our goal. April NAR Member Benefits Guide Dental Insurance

There are three plans to choose from (Platinum, Gold, and Value) with 100% preventive dental benefits when using innetwork providers. There are benefits for over 370 procedures. These include: • Preventive Dental Benefits (no deductible): Bitewings, routine exams, cleanings, fluoride treatments, and more, • Basic Dental Benefits: Full mouth X-rays, amalgam restoration, simple and complex extractions, surgical removal of teeth, deep sedation/general anesthesia, and more. • Major Dental Benefits: Onlays, maxillary partial denture – resin base, denture repair, endodontics – root canal, periodontal scaling and root planing, crown and crown repairs, pontics – porcelain fused to noble metal, and more. REALTORS® Dental Insurance is available to NAR members and REALTOR® Association staff with a NRDS IDs. Immediate family members may be added to a member’s plan. REALTORS® Dental Insurance is an annual plan. Once enrolled, policyholders have a ten day “look back period.” During this time you can cancel your plan with no penalty or other obligation. Policies require that after the look back period, members make a commitment through the initial 12 monthly periods. Over the last year, Form Simplicity has been revamping its entire user experience to support the high growing demand for transaction management solutions in the real estate world. Now, more than ever, brokers and agents need technology to help them work safely and remotely. With enhanced mobile capability, Form Simplicity gives real estate professionals the tools to quickly create, manage, share and store transactions online for on-the-go transactions. Users have the ability to accelerate the real estate document signing process online through eSign, ensuring deals close faster while leveraging complete visibility into the document workflow, and with Form Simplicity and Matrix integrated, you’ll be able to upload your listing into Matrix instantly!

Good Neighbor Award Nominations The National Association of REALTORS® seeks nominations for the 22nd annual Good Neighbor Awards, which recognizes REALTORS® who’ve made an extraordinary impact on their communities through volunteer work. Five winners will be announced in the November/ December issue of REALTOR® magazine and honored during the 2021 REALTORS® Conference & Expo. The winners will receive a $10,000 grant for their community cause and national publicity. Five honorable mentions will receive $2,500 grants. Applications are due on May 7, 2021.


Announcements New Supra eKEY App Release!

We are pleased to announce that a new version of the Supra eKEY app has been released. This new version for iOS and Android devices is designed to optimize functionality, improve security, and is the foundation for future enhancements in eKEY. The update is available in the App Store and Google Play. Please update your app as soon as possible, as it is important to keep your eKEY functioning optimally. Device Operating System Requirements: To function properly, the current eKEY app requires either Apple® iOS 12 (or later) or Android OS 8 (or later) operating system be installed on the user’s device. Important: Before installing the latest eKEY app, keyholders should assure their phone operating system is current. eKEY App Updates: The latest eKEY versions are available for download from the app stores. If keyholders have automatic app updates turned on, the eKEY app will automatically be pushed to their device. For keyholders that rely on manual app updates, they will need to update their eKEY app by searching for “supra ekey” in the App Store or Google Play.

Announcing eKEY Smart Inventory Good news! Supra is announcing an enhancement to SupraNET to help streamline assigning eKEYs. The new eKEY Smart Inventory feature immediately and automatically generates eKEY serial numbers in SupraNET. The eKEY Smart Inventory feature removes the hassle of monitoring the quantity of eKEY serial numbers in your inventory and eliminates the need to manually obtain eKEY serial numbers from Supra. What’s changing with eKEY Smart Inventory: • eKEY inventory replenishment is completely automatic, so administrators no longer need to monitor eKEY inventory count. • Administrators no longer need to contact Supra to request that more eKEYs be placed into inventory. • Used eKEY serial numbers can no longer be assigned to keyholders. • Administrators should assign eKEYs from new inventory only. • Multiple administrators across office locations can be logged into SupraNET simultaneously and assign eKEYs, while the system automatically refills eKEY serial number inventory across offices. • New eKEY serial numbers will be 8-digits and start with a 2, instead of the previous 7-digit format starting with a 5 or 6. • Supra will no longer provide pre-printed serial number labels to organizations. Administrators can issue eKEYs entirely through the eKEY Smart Inventory feature in SupraNET. What’s the same: • Supra administrators will follow their existing process for issuing eKEYs in SupraNET. • Existing keyholders will not be affected by this change. How does eKEY Smart Inventory work? • Upon initial release, you will see a quantity of 25-35 eKEY serial numbers. Rest assured, though, the Smart Inventory feature automatically refills your inventory when it gets low, so your supply of eKEY serial numbers will never be depleted. • Once you unassign an eKEY, that serial number will no longer be usable. Check it out today! The eKEY Smart Inventory feature is active and ready for use! Administrators do not need to make any system updates to start using this enhancement.
