President’s Message

This is Alexandra Arena-Gil, your President for 2022. What an honor to be able to represent this organization and its members. Our former president, Donnie Martinez, did an incredible job during 2021 and now it is my turn to continue increasing the benefits for our members and our organization. Hereby, I want to inform you that OSCAR will continue to offer all free educational courses and in addition, we will begin to offer free NAR Certifications and Designations to all our members. We are focused on educating our members to create better professionals and thus maintain our vision of continuing to be: The Trusted Source of Real Estate in Central Florida. In 2021 the limitation of properties has affected supply and demand which continues to impact sales prices. 2022 will start the same way. At this time, home prices have generally increased by almost 18%, establishing a median price of $ 358,950 in the State of Florida. In Osceola County, we are closing the year with an estimated median price of $342,250.

I would like to invite you to the Florida Realtors Mid-Winter Meetings, with the theme: “Knowledge is Power”. FL Realtor Mid-Winter Meetings which will be offered virtually on January 6, 7 and 10. During the days of January 19 to the 22nd, most of the meetings will be offered in-person and only some virtually. You should not miss them as this is an integral part of your professional growth as a Realtor. Florida Realtors® Mid-Winter Meetings

The Mid-Winter Business Meetings enable members to collectively share ideas and make decisions that further the goals of Florida Realtors and the Florida real estate industry. This annual event also celebrates the incoming leadership team with an Inaugural Ball and other networking events. When: January 6, 7, 10 (virtual) + January 19-22 (in person and virtual) Where: Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld, Orlando + Zoom Video Conferencing Participants and members at this annual business summit strive to advance the association’s initiatives through advocacy and committee involvement. Members take an active role to advance the real estate industry, public policy and the association. Top highlights include the Florida Realtors Real Estate Trends economic summit, where a panel of state and national experts offer market and economic insights for the coming year, and the annual Inaugural Banquet, where we celebrate past leadership and welcome our new 2022 leaders. The four-day event concludes with the Florida Realtors Board of Directors meeting, where the association’s bylaws are updated to ensure the association’s membership goals are met and keep the association a path of success.
