As I am writing to you at the end of May, the Veterans Administration is announcing the silly, noxious, and devoid-of-reason VA administrative rule prohibiting Veterans from paying compensation to a Buyer Broker has been suspended.

No longer will all active duty and veteran service members have their VA loan guarantee benefits denied and stripped away if they choose to have you represent them in the purchase of a home.

How did this happen? Did the VA on its own suddenly come to its senses about this preposterous policy?

No.

It happened because three weeks ago yours truly, several OSCAR Board members, and thousands of other Realtors descended on the Capitol in Washington, D.C. We marched on the halls of Congress.

We talked directly to all our Senators and Congress Members. We told them just how bad this VA administrative rule was for our service members and how much it was going to hurt their chances at home ownership.

And it worked!

It worked because we have a Realtor organization that ceaselessly strives to protect home ownership and property rights for all the members of our community at the local, state, and federal levels.

It worked because you are a Realtor and support this noble endeavor.

Tell your family. Tell your friends. Tell all of your customers and clients. Celebrate the victory your Realtor organization has won for them!
