Did you know the Osceola County Association of REALTORS® is a member driven association? That means that you, the member, are the driving force for what we have to offer our members, the value we can offer to our community, and who we are as an association! How YOU can get in the “driver’s seat”, is by getting INVOLVED! In the upcoming months you will start to see invitations to apply for the various committees OSCAR has. These committees are the backbone of what OSCAR encompasses. The REALTOR® Political Action Committee (RPAC) raises money to support those political issues that pertain to homeowners rights. This committee works very hard to make sure that as REALTORS®, our voices are heard. The REALTORS® Care Committee is a great way to be actively engaged in our community, and promote the REALTOR® brand. Roll up your sleeves and dive into a service project such as the ones we have coming up to assist the seniors of our community with home projects. Being a part of the Professional Development Committee gives you an inside view of how the very valuable educational classes we offer to all of our members are selected. Here, your own experience will come into play as you discuss and research the education most likely to benefit our members. Have an interest, or experience in Commercial Real Estate?
The Commercial Alliance Task Force is tasked with identifying the tools and best practices of helping our Commercial REALTORS® be successful in their field. We have a very active Global Alliance Committee. Being a part of one of the most active international markets provides ample global business opportunities to our members. This committee raises awareness and exposure to these opportunities, as well as positioning OSCAR members as the most influential and authoritative representatives of the Florida real estate business and profession.
In my first year as a REALTOR®, I sought different ways to increase my knowledge of my business. I very much enjoyed the educational offerings that OSCAR afforded me, but once I started getting plugged in to the committees, and later the BOD, it gave me a real understanding of our Association, and what it means to our members. All the while educating me with more intricate details of what one might consider the more “behind the scenes” information that has helped me become a better REALTOR®. I encourage you to look at our committees, see where you have an interest, and see where you can apply your experience while you grow yourself. Be involved, make a difference! - Be blessed.
