President’s Message

DONNIE MARTINEZ 2021 PRESIDENT

Hello everyone, I’m Donnie Martinez, your 2021 President.

Thank you to those members who signed up to volunteer on a committee or task force next year. We appreciate you dedicating your time and talent to improve our programs and services which benefits all of our members. Later this month, I am hosting an appreciation luncheon for those who served on a committee or task force this year. It’s our way to say thank you for your service to the Association.

I also want to thank those who nominated members for our annual awards. We received many nominations and look forward to recognizing and honoring the award winners at our annual Awards and Installation Ceremony in December.

We are also excited to announce later this month, the launch of our new website. You’ll be able to access it using the current address of osceolarealtors.org but it will be new and improved. In addition to this, we have created a new consumer website that will have valuable information for buyers and sellers. Look for more details on both of these new exciting sites later in October.

And finally, here is this month’s joke: A small real estate broker was dismayed when a brand new real estate franchise much like his own opened up next door and put up a huge sign which read BEST REALTORS. He was horrified when another competitor opened up on his right, and announced its arrival with an even larger sign, reading LOWEST COMMISSIONS. The small real estate broker panicked, until he got an idea. He put the biggest sign of all over his own brokerage-it read…MAIN ENTRANCE.” Have a wonderful Columbus Day and Halloween!

REALTOR® Appreciation Day & VIP Showcase All members and their families are invited to join us on Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 10 AM to 1 PM for our FREE REALTOR® Appreciation Day and Vital Industry Partner (VIP) Showcase in the Association’s courtyard. This is our way to say thank you to our members and highlight our Vital Industry Partners.

The event will feature bounce houses, food trucks, and lots of door prizes throughout the day. We are also excited to announce that we will have a shredding truck onsite to securely dispose of your confidential documents - For FREE! Additionally, our VIPS will have displays showcasing their services and networking with our members. NAR C5 Summit – What is it?

The C5 Summit is the premier United States based Commercial Real Estate event. This 3-day summit launched this past September in New York. Attendees had the opportunity to network with leaders in the industry, build relationships with other agents, learn about new trends and make business deals. The event also featured commercial real estate investor and MLB All-Star, Alex Rodriguez. This event attracted some of the largest commercial investors and influential industry leaders in the United States. OSCAR was proud to be one of the many local REALTOR® associations attending.
