OSCAR SUPPORTED CANDIDATES The Osceola County Association of REALTORS® is an advocate for home ownership and private property rights. As such, our Association pays close attention to the political landscape, studying upcoming legislation, and interfacing with elected officials and candidates to have dialog on critical industry issues that affect homeowners and would-be homeowners. Each election cycle, our Candidate Screening Committee interviews local candidates to discuss their views on topics that concern the ease of access to homeownership and rights associated with ownership. After careful consideration, the Committee supports the following candidates for the primary election on August 28, 2018: Cheryl Grieb for County Commissioner, District 4; Shel Hart for School Board, District 1; and Viviana Janer for County Commissioner, District 1.

For the City of Kissimmee, the Committee supports Jim Fisher for Commission, Seat 4 and Felix Ortiz for Commission, Seat 2. And for St. Cloud, Dave Askew, Council Seat Member 4 and Keith Trace, Council Seat Member 5. “OSCAR has a long history of supporting candidates that understand the important role of homeownership, private property rights and principled decision-making in our community. The slate our committee selected has displayed their understanding of the same”, said Tim Weisheyer, Chair of Public Policy and Candidate Screening.
