Ground was also broken for a replacement station in Poinciana, while planning is underway for a new station on West 192 near Entry Point Boulevard, a second station in Poinciana and a replacement station in the four corners area.

Holiday Sleepover Program for shelter dogs Osceola County, FL- Osceola County Animal Services has launched its Holiday Sleepover program, providing local families with the unique opportunity to host a shelter dog temporarily. The initiative aims to offer a break from the shelter routine for adoptable pets and create meaningful connections with potential adopters during the holiday season.

The program runs through January 9 and matches dogs to homes based on the comfort of host and dog – with consideration of other pets, children, and individual needs.

Dogs are chosen based on individual behavior and friendliness.

All participating dogs undergo vetting for health and behavior.

Condado Osceola comienza expansión de Boggy Creek Road Condado Osceola, FL – El proyecto de ampliación y mejora de la Boggy Creek Road ha comenzado con trabajos de remoción de la vegetación. Osceola County begins Boggy Creek Road expansion Osceola County, FL – The Boggy Creek Road Widening and Improvement Project has begun with vegetation removal work. "The Boggy Creek Road expansion will help alleviate traffic in that area and improve safety for not only drivers but

also for our pedestrians,” said Osceola County Commission Chairman Viviana Janer. “Osceola County continues to grow, and these projects are improving our transportation infrastructure one step at a time.”

The construction work may require daytime and nighttime lane closures between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., and 7 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. and traffic shifts to the new roadway as construction progresses.

allow patients to address lingering concerns and reduce the possibility of readmission,” said Dr. Ashley Dlugokienski, medical director of the Orlando Health Aftercare Support Team and Resource Centers. for Outpatients. “The hospital stay by nature can be overwhelming for patients. If you’re ready to pick a plan, here are few things you should keep in mind while you’re browsing the Health Insurance Marketplace.

Open Enrollment dates. In Florida, Open Enrollment begins each year in fall.

If you’re shopping for coverage through the Marketplace, you’ll want to remember that Open Enrollment runs from November 1 – December 15 for coverage beginning January 1, 2024. You can also enroll between December 16 and January 15 for coverage, but it won't start until February 1, 2024. It’s a good idea to shop early, so you can avoid being part of the last-minute rush and possibly long hold times. Plus, you’ll be set before the holidays, so you have one less thing to worry about. If you don’t enroll in a plan by January 15, 2024, you can still get coverage if you qualify for what's called a Special Enrollment Period. These are life changes that include getting married or divorced, having a baby, moving to a new county, or losing your previous coverage.

How to compare plans. When you’re ready to pick a plan, it’s important to compare details about your options. Before renewing or choosing a new plan, make sure the doctors, pharmacies, and other health care facilities you use are in the network for the plan you’re considering. And look closely at the out-of-pocket costs to make sure the plan fits your budget.

Receiving financial help. You also may be able to get help paying for your health plan. According to the federal government, 9 out of 10 Floridians qualify for financial help through the Marketplace to lower their monthly payments.1 Your payment could be as low as $0 per month, depending on

your income if the amount of your monthly financial assistance (also called a subsidy) is equal to or more than the premium.

Considering health needs. The amount of coverage you need can change from year to year. Maybe you or a family member have a planned surgery or procedure coming up. Maybe you know your medication needs will be different than previous years.

These are things to consider every year, in order to make sure you’re choosing the right health plan.

What perks are available. When deciding on a health plan, it’s also important to review other value-added benefits you may not have previously considered. Are there registered nurses you can talk to for no extra cost? Or doctors who are available for virtual health care visits when it’s convenient for you? Does the health plan offer easy access to your plan benefit information through their website or mobile app?

What about virtual care benefits? Are there discount programs available to save you money on health and wellness programs and products? Can you earn rewards for completing important screenings or immunizations? While these benefits aren’t necessarily deal-breakers when it comes to choosing a health plan, they can provide additional ways for you to save money and get the most out of your health plan.

Young Professionals' Tomorrow's Leaders Today Awards Kissimmee, FL - On November 16, The Osceola Chamber held the Young Professionals of Osceola County awards where eight new Tomorrow’s Leaders Today Award recipients were recognized. Each year, the YPs honor a new group of outstanding individuals under the age of 40. Candidates are nominated by their coworkers or peers before completing a detailed application. The only requirement is that they live or work in Osceola County.

It features portraits of local men and women, aged 65 and older, who have found their passion and purpose in volunteering, travel, gardening, art, sports, family, and friends.

Petty Officer Second Class John Wilkins, 85, U.S. Navy (Ret) signed up for four years in 1956, but it was determined that he had a physical disability and was honorably discharged right after boot camp. He has a daughter and two grandkids living with him and suffers from a back injury that keeps him in a wheelchair, so the ramp will help him enter and exit the home.

In addition, the volunteers completed the projects by installing a 20-ft. lighted flagpole to celebrate the service that Captain Zukatis and Petty Officer Second Class Wilkins has provided to this great nation.

Golding was recognized for giving his shoes to the mother of a young child who was being airlifted to a hospital. The mother was wearing open-toed shoes, and the medical helicopter requires all passengers to wear closed-toed shoes.

Golding removed his work boots and gave them to the mother.

Kastner was recognized for using his work vehicle to block traffic after he came upon a traffic crash that had just occurred.

Because emergency services personnel were not yet on the scene, he activated the yellow flashing lights on his City vehicle and blocked traffic to keep those involved safe from further injury. He stayed on scene with the victims until emergency personnel arrived.

KUA gana tres premios en conferencia nacional Customer Connections Kissimmee, FL - Kissimmee Utility Authority obtuvo un Premio a la Satisfacción del Cliente de Energía Pública, una designación de Proveedor de Energía Inteligente (SEP) y un Premio a la Excelencia en Comunicaciones de Energía Pública por parte de la American Public Power Association (APPA). KUA wins three awards at national customer Connections Conference Kissimmee, FL - Kissimmee Utility Authority earned a Public Power Customer Satisfaction Award, a Smart Energy Provider (SEP) designation and an Excellence in Public Power Communications Award from the American Public Power Association. The awards were presented last week at APPA’s Customer Connections Conference in San Antonio, Texas.

Customer Satisfaction Award The Customer Satisfaction Award is the result of receiving high marks from customers in the areas of: customer service, field personnel, communication, reliability, value, outage response, innovation, and overall satisfaction.

Winners of Public Power Customer Satisfaction Awards are chosen at gold, silver, and bronze levels based on responses to customer surveys. KUA received a bronze level award for an average rating greater than 80% across the eight categories.

Smart Energy Provider Designation The Smart Energy Provider (SEP) designation was earned for demonstrating a commitment to and proficiency in energy efficiency, distributed generation, and environmental initiatives that support the goal of providing safe, reliable, lowcost, and sustainable electric service.

The SEP designation, which lasts for two years (December 1, 2023 to November 30, 2025), recognizes public power utilities for demonstrating leading practices in four key disciplines: smart energy program structure; energy efficiency and distributed energy resources programs; environmental and sustainability initiatives; and customer experience. KUA also earned the SEP designation in 2021 and 2019.

Excellence in Public Power Communications Award KUA earned an Award of Merit in the Web/Social media category for the utility’s social media strategy during Hurricane Ian. The entries are judged in three categories: Print & Digital, Web & Social Media, and Video. Awards were given to those that showed ingenuity and creativity in telling their stories through outstanding copy, design, financial data presentation, graphics, social media engagement, video editing, and web layout and interactivity.

Sixty-seven public power electric utilities and utility organizations earned Excellence in Public Power Communications Awards from the American Public Power Association.

Fuji Sushi En un estratégico rincón de Winter Park, en la esquina de Lee Rd y Lewis Dr, se encuentra éste pequeño "tesoro" con uno de los mejores sushis de Orlando.

Mucho carácter, ambiente y autenticidad, pues al ingresar, te ubicas inmediatamente en una de las calles locales de Japón.

De inmediato nos exponemos a las tradicionales cabinas privadas, unas con las autóctonas mesas orientales, sus mesas Kotatsu, las cuales le dan un ambiente diferente, y privado en ciertas zonas del restaurante, con cojines en el suelo, y la muy obvia presencia de un mostrador o "sushi bar" que presenta un contacto directo con sus chefs, y así poder experimentar ofertas donde le da rienda suelta a las ideas y confecciones del SUSHI CHEF AB. Su equipo de sushi masters incluso puede armar presentaciones solicitadas que no se encuentran en su menú y que son sencillamente espectaculares!!

Los sorprendo con presentar a sus propietarios, la chef Ada Rivera, dominicana de San Pedro de Macoris, y a su esposo José Martínez, cubano, empresario en la industria de seguros. Ada era cliente del restaurante y fanática de Chef AB, cuando se percata que el negocio estaba en venta. Ada, con su "burbujeante" personalidad, convence a su marido, con su ya patente dulzura de persona, y VOILA! La versátil Ada, desde sus 16 años ingresó al mundo de los banquetes o "catering" para ayudar a su madre, y eventualmente le llamó la atención el aspecto de organizar eventos, ya que era el complemento ideal para los servicios de su madre. En eso les deparó un gran resultado...

Al paso del tiempo, su hermana Berta, su adoración, tenía serias complicaciones de salud, y enfocó su vida alrededor de su familia, iniciando la real motivación de Ada en iniciar cursos de una Escuela de Medicina, siendo una estudiante sobresaliente, y logrando las herramientas necesarias para entender y ayudar a su hermana a plenitud. Durante su último año de Medicina, como suele suceder al ingresar en las clínicas y práctica de campo, se percata que esa no era su vocación! Así entonces, tuvo el coraje, que "contra viento y marea", abandona la Escuela de Medicina y se dedica completamente a su pasión, las relaciones públicas y la coordinación de eventos y actividades.

Ya que contaba con una buena reputación y excelentes referencias, le "llovieron" los contratos de forma que pudo apoyar económicamente a sus padres en el sustento de la condición médica de su hermana, así como buscar recursos y servicios fuera de la República Dominicana.

Es en ese momento que cruza su camino con su esposo José Martínez; se enamoran y se casan. Viven separados por un corto tiempo, pues él viajaba constantemente, pero en 2016 se mudan a Miami donde estuvieron por un par de años.

La vorágine urbana de Miami, el costo de vida y la habilidad de poder desa-

rrollar su propio horizonte empresarial los motiva a moverse a Orlando. En la distancia, continuó organizando eventos en la República Dominicana, pero al iniciar el COVID-19, como a todos, su negocio se cae.

Debido a su afinidad y paladar por el sushi, continuó consumiendo los platos del Chef AB, durante los ya famosos "take outs", y eventualmente, compró el restaurante, uniendo esfuerzos con su esposo y con el chef. Juntos al reordenar el menú, mercadear lo nuevo..., y aquí les va al nuevo concepto de Fuji Sushi.

La primera meta era achicar el menú pues se dió cuenta que era extremadamente extenso. Mantuvo los mejores :sushi rolls" pues quería que los clientes quedaran contentos con el cambio, y añadieron elementos más modernos, prácticos y con ciertos elementos de fusión a sus platos.

Estos excitantes emprendedores tienen grandes planes para el futuro y ya Ada tiene una nueva "visión" de los que FUJI SUSHI nos presentará en 2024, hast un concepto de Omakase (Menú tipo degustación de platos y precio fijo), que estamos seguros que lo que traerá será algo innovador, suculento y único, pues ella es una "perfeccionista de corazón"!

Nos obsequiaron con una suculenta variedad de "rollos", sashimis y platos singulares; cada uno inigualable y mejor que el otro...

El "Fuji Bomb", es un aguacate empanizado y frito; sensacional! donde lo rellenan con cangrejo y una variedad de ingredientes. Adicionalmente, el "Volcano", donde escoges el marisco preferido con mayonesa picosa, masago, pepinillos y "cebollines", para una unión de sabores única! El "carpaccio" de salmón, creado por el Sushi chef José Ariel, también dominicano, con una base de semillas de mostaza; CELESTIAL! La "Torre", la cual te sorprende, con tuna picosa, guacamole, salsa blanca, salsa de anguila, masago y ese toque único de "crispy rice" , el cual le ofrece una textura suculenta. Nos hicieron una ensalada de cangrejo increíble, y los acompañamos con su variedad de Saki o cervezas japonesas.

Ofrecen tempura de carne, pollo o vegetales y un "Hibachi", el cual escoges que tipo de carne o marisco que prefieras, con diferentes tipos de arroz (8 variedades), incluso el arroz púrpura, que contiene mucha más fibra y es mucho más nutritivo que el arroz blanco, es un antioxidante natural, sin gluten.Le llaman el arroz prohibido!, pues en la China antigua, sólo lo comía el Emperador!

De la cocina caliente, ofrecen carnes como el NY Strip, chicken Katsu que es pollo empanizado y frito.

Pendientes porque su próximo restaurante nos va a dar MUUUUCHO de que hablar!!

During her last year of Medicine, as usually happens when entering clinics and field practice, she realized that this was not her vocation! So then, she had the courage, that "against all odds", she left the School of Medicine and dedicated herself completely to her passion, public relations and the coordination of events and activities.

Since she had a good reputation and excellent references, she "rained" contracts so that she could financially support her parents in supporting her sister's medical condition, as well as seek resources and services. outside the Dominican Republic.

She kept the best "sushi rolls" because she wanted customers to be happy with the change, and they added more modern, practical and certain fusion elements to their dishes.

These exciting entrepreneurs have big plans for the future and Ada already has a new "vision" of what FUJI SUSHI will present to us in 2024, even a concept of Omakase (tasting menu of dishes and fixed price), which we are sure that what she will bring will be something innovative, succulent and unique, since she is a "perfectionist from the heart"!

She presented us with a succulent variety of "rolls", sashimis and unique dishes; each one unmatched and better than the other...

The "Fuji Bomb" is a breaded and fried avocado; sensational! where they fill it with crab and a variety of ingredients.

Osceola Magic's first game at Osceola Heritage Park is a hit Thursday November 16, 2023 The Osceola Magic defeat the Texas Legends at Osceola Heritage Park 136129 to an electric crowd at their first game in Osceola County.

Mac McClung led Osceola with a game-high 35 points and six assists, while Brandon Williams added 28 points. The Magic had six players that scored in double figures. Texas’ Justin Jackson led the Legends in scoring with 33 points, while A.J. Lawson netted 27 points.

“It was really good to play at home and have a great crowd,” Osceola head coach Dylan Murphy said. “When we needed it our crowd gave us energy, it was awesome.”

“As my teammates and I drove in we had asked if there was another event going on,” McClung said after the game. “They were all here for us.

It was a great atmosphere and a lot of fun. We were thrilled with the fans.”

“We could feel the energy as soon as we came in,” Williams stated. “It felt like the crowd was right behind us, they were our sixth man, and we needed their energy in the final stretch.”

Osceola shot 53.7 percent from the floor during the first half and took a 74-51 halftime lead. The Magic remained in the driver's seat and ended the game shooting 38.9 percent from deep and never looked back.

El año en el futbol de Selecciones Ha concluido la última fecha FIFA del 2023, y con ello podemos ir repasando lo que sucedió en el futbol de selecciones en este año post-mundial.

Venezuela Comenzamos con la Vinotinto porque nunca se había sentido tan cerca una Copa del Mundo. La única nación sudamericana que no ha podido disfrutar el evento futbolístico más grande del planeta está en posición idónea para romper esa mala racha. Con el próximo mundial siendo de 48 países ahora la CONMEBOL tendrá seis plazas, además de la posibilidad de una séptima gracias a un repechaje. Tras cinco fechas son cuartos con cuatro partidos sin perder (tal vez cinco tras el juego ante un Perú de capa caída). El equipo de Fernando Batista está jugando sólidamente, y el primer mundial para Venezuela está cada vez más cerca.

Argentina Los campeones del mundo se pasaron el 2023 de luna de miel.
