Fundación Baila Corazon Kissimmee, FL - El miércoles, 10 de diciembre, la Oficina de Asuntos Federales del Estado Libre Asociado de Puerto Rico, realizó la presentación de la Fundación Baila Corazón. Esta organización sin fines de lucro apoya a los sobrevivientes de relaciones violentas y ayuda a mejorar su autoestima a través de las artes.

Ofrecen diferentes talleres artísticos como canto, teatro, locución, lectura, defensa personal, cine, televisión, danza del vientre, y apoyan con becas artísticas a las personas de bajos recursos.

Para ello sus organizadores principales, el Sr. José A. Coronel, su esposa Vionette Pietri, y la Directora Ejecutiva Samy Pinzon, cuentan con el apoyo de la Oficina de Asuntos Federales del Estado Libre Asociado de Puerto Rico y del Comisionado de la Ciudad de Kissimmee José Alvarez, quien dice estar muy motivado con la idea, pues traer las artes a Kissimmee y preservar la cultura hispana siempre ha sido su prioridad y una idea que siempre había querido realizar y con este proyecto lo podrá hacer. Para esto

están solicitando el apoyo también del Representante Alan Grayson.

Dance Heart Foundation (Baila Corazon)

La Fundación Baila Corazón, fue fundada en el 2006, por la abogada y escritora puertorriqueña Vionette Pietri, sobreviviente de violencia doméstica, y abuso sexual infantil. La Fundación Baila Corazón se reactiva motivada por líderes de la Ciudad de Kissimmee, para ofrecer a la comunidad un Centro Integral de Artes, junto a un Programa de Becas Artísticas y un Programa de Mentores.

Kissimmee, FL On Wednesday, Dec. 10, the Office of Federal Affairs of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, held a press conference for the Baila Corazon (Dance Heart) Foundation.

This nonprofit organization supports survivors of violent relationships and helps build their self-esteem through the arts. They offer different artistic workshops such as singing, drama, speech, reading, self-defense, film, television, belly dancing, and provide artistic scholarships to people with low income.

Their main organizers, are Mr. José A. Coronel, his wife Vionette Pietri, and Executive Director Samy Pinzon, supported by the Office of Federal Affairs of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the City of Kissimmee Commissioner José Alvarez, who says he is very motivated by the idea of bringing the arts to Kissimmee and preserving Hispanic culture which has always been his priority and an idea he had always wanted to create and this project may do just that. For this they are also requesting the support of Representative Alan Grayson.

The Dance Heart Foundation was founded in 2006 by the lawyer and Puerto Rican writer Vionette Pietri, a survivor of domestic violence, and child abuse. The Dance Heart Foundation was rebooted and brought back to life by leaders of the City of Kissimmee, to offer the community a Comprehensive Arts Centre, alongside Artistic Scholarship Program and Mentoring Program.

Comisionado Brandon Arrington, elegido Presidente de la Junta de Comisionados del Condad Osceola.

Los Comisionados del Condado de Osceola eligen nuevo Presidente y Vicepresidente para el 2015 Condado Osceola, FL - Los Comisionados del Condado Osceola eligieron al Comisionado Brandon Arrington como el Presidente de la Junta de Comisionados del Condado Osceola para el próximo año, efectivo inmediatamente.

“Espero trabajar con la Comisión del Condado", dijo Arrington. “Esto definitivamente será diferente del 2011 cuando hubo una mayoría republicana en la junta y ahora tenemos una mayoría demócrata. Seguiré trabajando por el bienestar del Condado Osceola y por todos nuestros ciudadanos.”

La Comisionada Viviana Janer del Distrito 2 fue elegida Vicepresidenta y Arrington dijo que estaba orgulloso de hacer el nombramiento que condujo a la primera Latina ocupando el cargo.

El Comisionado Michael Harford también fue nominado pero dijo que

sentía que era importante que una de las dos mujeres elegidas a la junta en noviembre ocupara la silla de vicepresidenta. Janer y la Comisionada Cheryl Grieb del Distrito 4 son sólo la segunda y tercer mujer en servir en la Comisión.

“Estoy extremadamente contenta y deseo hacer un buen trabajo como Vicepresidenta,” dijo Janer.

“Agradezco la confianza de la Junta y estoy enfocada en ayudar a nuestros ciudadanos”.

El saliente Presidente Fred Hawkins, Hijo, dijo que estaba orgulloso de que no se aumentó la tasa de impuesto este año y que la junta trajo las Finales del Rodeo del Circuito Nacional RAM, la asociación para construir el Centro de Investigación de Manufactura Avanzada y aprobó planes para un nuevo centro de entrenamiento para el Alguacil.

Three King’s Day in Osceola celebration Osceola County, FL - For the tenth consecutive year the Hispanic Business Council of the Kissimmee/ Osceola County Chamber of Commerce is hosting the Three King’s Day in Osceola. Celebrated in many countries of the world and most of Latin America, the Three King’s Day, or “El Día de los Reyes” is a holiday recognized by different cultures, as a way to remember the three Wise Men or Kings, as they brought their gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh to Baby Jesus.

The Three Kings brought an early present to Osceola. On behalf of the Hispanic Business Council a scholarship donation of $5,000 was presented to the Hispanic Heritage Scholarship Fund of Metro Orlando The Three King’s Day celebration will take place on Saturday, January 10, 2015, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at Plaza Del Sol located at 3831 W. Vine St. in Kissimmee, FL 34741.

Over 8,000 people, mostly children, with their families attended last year’s event and we anticipate that this year the number will be higher.

In addition to free hot dogs, free toys, free juice, free children play area, free magicians, clowns, musical groups and entertainment for the whole family and many other surprises, the Three King’s Day celebration will include: FREE BICYCLES: One of the most exciting moments for the kids at the event is the free raffle of a brand new

bicycle every 5 minutes, over 125 bicycles will be given away.

Espectacular El Fantasma de la Opera en el Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts Por: Yanin Hansen Orlando, FL - Toda la emoción del nuevo y magnifico Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts fue lo menos que pudimos esperar en su primer gran musical El Fantasma de la Opera donde se vivió todo lo que un fanático del teatro puede soñar en su primera presentación el pasado viernes, 5 de diciembre. Empezando por el lugar en sí, el Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts es un precioso edificio construido principalmente en cristales transparentes que impresiona y a la vez es práctico y cómodo con grandes pasillos en cada piso con una gran escalera.

El interior del Teatro Walt Disney es hermoso como cualquier pieza de arte, te transporta a otro mundo.

Los miembros de la audiencia

incluían mujeres con vestidos largos y hombres en trajes de etiqueta con sombreros completando la emoción, el dinamismo y el trabajo artístico. El espectáculo como tal te dejaba sin aliento, todos sintieron el deseo de cantar desde la audiencia general hasta los que estaban sentados en los elegantes balcones interiores, diseñados con mucho gusto y que son parte de todos los teatros clásicos. La actriz Christine Daae tiene una voz que te impresiona con su fuerza y belleza.

Starting with the venue itself, the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts is a beautiful massive edifice made mostly of transparent glass that is impressive as well as practical and comfortable with its large walk ways on every floor and grand staircase.

The inside of the Walt Disney Theater is as beautiful as any famed work of art, it transports you to another

world. The audience members included some women in ball gowns and men in tuxedos and top hats completing the feeling of being in an exciting, dynamic and artistic world.

The City of Orlando looking for artists Orlando, FL - Thanks to the generous contribution of the scholarship "Our Town" from the National Endowment for the Arts and the matching funds awarded by the Florida Hospital, Orlando City Hall announces a call for stakeholders to design and create a piece of public art for the Orlando Loch Haven Park.

The piece of art selected will be on display at or near the new station SunRail "Health Village" of the Florida Hospital and serve as a gateway to Orlando Loch Haven Park to reflect the cultural areas of the zone and the healing mission of Florida Hospital.

The registration deadline for artists to submit proposals is December 12, 2014. A selected group of artists will be invited thereafter to present their art proposal for this place, which may include a stipend

of $500 from being chosen for presentation.

Estudiantes de Kissimmee de compras con un policía Kissimmee, FL - El Departamento de Policía de Kissimmee se asoció con los Supercententros de WalMart para ofrecer una vez más el programa "Compra con un Policía" para estudiantes de Kissimmee cuyas familias están experimentando dificultades financieras.

Estudiantes de cada una de las escuelas dentro de los límites de la Ciudad de Kissimmee fueron invitados a unirse a los miembros del Departamento de Policía de Kissimmee para unas horas de compras. A cada participante se le proporcionó una

tarjeta de $130 de regalo de Wal-Mart para sus compras.

El martes, 9 de diciembre 2014, un total de 38 estudiantes fueron de compras al Wal-Mart ubicado en el 1471 Oriente Osceola Parkway en Kissimmee.

Después de las compras, los niños fueron llevados al McDonalds ubicado en el 719 W Vine Street en Kissimmee para el almuerzo. McDonald donó el almuerzo para los estudiantes.

"Este es uno de los mejores programas con el que el Departamento de Policía de Kissimmee está involucrado", explicó el Jefe Lee Massie, "Es conmovedor ver las sonrisas en los rostros de estos niños."

Sheriff & Police - Noticias / News Detiene sospechoso incidente de riña en el camino Condado Osceola, FL - El 7 de diciembre, a las 11:00 a.m. aproximadamente, agentes del Sheriff del Condado Osceola respondieron a la zona de la carretera estatal 60 y Peavine Road en Yeehaw Junction.

Ellos hablaron con las víctimas quienes indicaron que estaban conduciendo su Ford F150 hacia el oeste por la carretera estatal 60 cuando intentaron pasar un Kia Rondo. El conductor del Kia Rondo, posteriormente identificado como Gregorio Schwabe, se desvió deliberadamente fuera de su carril en un intento de sacar la Ford del camino.

El conductor de la Ford cayó en la hierba, pero fue capaz de mantener el control de su vehículo y pasar al Kia. Las víctimas indicaron que es entonces cuando Schwabe comenzó a acercarse demasiado a ellos. Cuando el conductor del Ford comenzaba a acelerar, también lo hacía Schwabe. En un momento dado, Schawbe se paso frente a las víctimas y luego procedió a reducir la

velocidad. Schwabe también detuvo el coche por completo en el medio de la carretera, lo que provocó que las víctimas desviaran a la hierba. Las víctimas intentaron pasar alrededor del Kia cuando Schwabe golpeó su vehículo haciendo que el camión quedase atascado en el barro y el agua. Además, le causó daños al camión en el lado del conductor.

Los agentes hablaron con Schwabe que inicialmente les dijo que fue un accidente. Schwabe dijo que sólo se desvió en frente del camión para llamar la atención del conductor porque pensaba que el otro conductor podría haber golpeado a su coche y no se dio cuenta de ello.

No podía explicar por qué nunca contactó a la policía para reportar el accidente. Después de explicarle que las víctimas tenían el incidente registrado en su teléfono celular, Schwabe admitió haberles golpeado con su coche. Suspect Arrested for Road Rage Incident Osceola County - On December 7 at approximately 11:00 a.m., Osceola County Sheriff's deputies responded to the area of State Road 60 and Peavine Road in Yeehaw Junction. They spoke with the victims who indicated they were driving their Ford F150 west on State Road 60 when they attempted to pass a Kia Rondo. The driver of the Kia Rondo, later identified as Gregory Schwabe, intentionally swerved out of his lane in an attempt to run the Ford on the road. The driver of the Ford drove onto the grass, but was able to maintain control of his vehicle and passed the Kia. The victims indicated that is when Schwabe began tailgating them. When the driver of the Ford began speeding up, so would Schwabe. At one point, Schawbe passed the victims and then would proceed to slow down. Schwabe also stopped the car completely in the middle of the road, which caused the victims to swerve onto the grass. The victims attempted to go around the Kia when Schwabe hit their vehicle causing the truck to get stuck in the mud and water. In addition, there was damage to the driver's side of the truck.

Deputies spoke with Schwabe who initially told them it was an accident.

Schwabe said he only swerved in front of the truck to get the driver's attention because he thought the other driver may have hit his car and not realized it. He could not explain why he never contacted law enforcement to report the accident. After deputies explained the victims had the incident recorded on their cell phone, Schwabe admitted to hitting them with his car. O’Quinn has always been one of my favorite players to watch and has been continuing to improve each year. Part of that learning experience has been becoming more aggressive and protecting the rim.

The Magic had four days between games upon their arrival and the time to give back to the community. Vucevic, Oladipo, and Elfrid Payton teamed up with Pepsi and Wal-Mart to take children of the Boys and Girls Club on a special Holiday Shopping Spree. This is a tradition Magic players have carried on throughout the years and is one that is very special to those children. Magic Ambassadors, Nick Anderson and Bo Outlaw, brought Stuff the mascot and the Magic dancers to the Florida Hospital for Children to spread some holiday cheer.

It was back to business Wednesday night as Orlando hosted the Washington Wizards. Washington is having an exceptional year and is currently in third in the Eastern Division. The Magic came out playing aggressive despite getting off to a poor start shooting. In the second quarter, Elfrid Payton started driving to the basket and it paid off. The Magic outscored the Wizards in the second and third quarters giving them a nice lead going into the fourth. Washington came back, though, not letting the Magic get a win that easy.

The game was tied with 20 seconds left on the clock. Orlando had the ball and let the clock run down but the game winning shot Victor Oladipo fired off was no good.

The ball was knocked out of bounds. The Wizards had .8 seconds on the clock to get the win. And they did. Andre Miller through a lob pass to Bradley Beal who out jumped Oladipo and laid it easy for the win. It was a devastating loss for the Magic players. It will be interesting to see how this carries over to their game tonight in Atlanta. The Magic are on the front half of back to back games against Atlanta. They will host them tomorrow here at Amway.

Orlando City adquiere al portero Tally Hall, al defensor Aurélien Collin y al mediocampista defensivo Amobi Okugo Orlando FL - Orlando City SC ha adquirido al portero Tally Hall, dos veces elegido para el Partido de las Estrellas de la Major League Soccer (MLS), al defensor Aurélien Collin, MVP de la Copa MLS 2013 y al mediocampista defensivo Amobi Okugo, un de los principales jugadores del Union en las últimas 3 temporadas.

Hall se une a Orlando City desde Houston Dynamo a cambio de dinero de asignación y un puesto para jugador internacional en la plantilla por dos años.

Orlando City Acquires Two-time MLS All-Star Tally Hall, 2013 MLS Cup MVP Aurélien Collin & Former Sixth Overall Pick Amobi Okugo Orlando FL - Orlando City Soccer Club has acquired two-time Major League Soccer (MLS) All-Star Goalkeeper Tally Hall from the Houston Dynamo in exchange for allocation money and a two-year international roster spot.

The Club also announced that it will receive three-time MLS All-Star Defender Aurélien Collin from Sporting Kansas City in return for allocation money and future considerations.

Additionally, Midfielder Amobi Okugo will join Orlando City from the Philadelphia Union for allocation money and a 2016 natural second round pick.

Lastly, City gained an international spot from D.C. United after trading allocation money.

Per MLS and Club policy, specific terms of the deals were not disclosed.

"We think we've signed some of the best players in their respective positions in MLS," said Head Coach Adrian Heath.

"All three players are guys that we've wanted for a long time, and we know that they will be huge assets to us moving forward. We've always stated that we want to hit the ground running in MLS next year, and these three players will help make us competitive from day one."

The addition of Hall secures a key position for the Lions as they move to MLS in 2015. A Renton, WA, native, Hall is a six-year league veteran with the Houston Dynamo. Hall started 101 of 102 regular season games through 2013, setting a club record with 12 regular season shutouts in 2012. Hall started 24 matches in 2014, recording seven shutouts before rupturing his ACL against Sporting KC on August 29. He is expected to make a full recovery.
