Florida - Noticias / News Gobernador Scott celebra récord de fondos para personas con discapacidad Miami, Fl - El 13 de julio de 2015, el gobernador Rick Scott ceremonialmente firmó la Ley del Senado 642, Florida Logrando una Experiencia Mejor de Vida (AEBA por sus siglas en Inglés). El proyecto de ley establece un fideicomiso para que ciertas personas con discapacidad puedan utilizar servicios importantes como la educación, la vivienda y el transporte. El Gobernador Scott también celebró la eliminación de la lista de espera de necesidades críticas de APD por segundo año consecutivo en su presupuesto "MANTENER A LA FLORIDA TRABAJANDO". El presupuesto de este año también incluye $1 millón para el Proyecto de Mejora de Empleo (EEP), que conecta a los individuos con discapacidades con posibles empleadores y oportunidades de trabajo. El Gobernador Scott ha proporcionado una inversión récord de $1,2 millones para este año y APD $96 millones en los últimos tres años para ayudar a eliminar la lista de espera de necesidades críticas de APD. Gov. Scott celebrates record funding for persons with disabilities Miami, Fl - On July 13, 2015, Governor Rick Scott ceremonially signed Senate Bill 642, the Florida Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) Act. The bill establishes a trust fund for certain people with disabilities to use for important services such as education, housing, and transportation. Governor Scott also celebrated the elimination of the APD critical needs waiting list for the second year in a row in his “KEEP FLORIDA WORKING” budget. This year’s budget also includes $1 million for the Employment Enhancement Project (EEP) which better connects individuals with disabilities with possible employers and job opportunities. Governor Scott has provided a record investment of $1.2 billion for APD this year and $96 million over the past three years to help eliminate APD’s critical needs waitlist.
Governor Rick Scott said, “The ABLE Act will help improve the lives of individuals with disabilities in our state by helping them work to get jobs. I’m very proud we have also eliminated the entire waiting list for Floridians with critical needs for a second year in a row.” Agency for Persons with Disabilities Director Barbara Palmer said, “I thank Governor Scott and the Legislature for their strong backing of APD customers. Chapter 9 is an option the states have at their disposal for their cities and public corporations which means there is no reason why Puerto Rico along with its creditors and citizens should not have the same protection under the law. Action is needed from Congress so that we can work together to fix the current fiscal situation. Chapter 9 would provide Puerto Rico, and its 3.5 million American citizens, the fundamental legal framework that would allow us to adjust our debts in order to generate economic growth and ensure longterm fiscal stability. The action of these senators is encouraging. My administration will continue to promote cost-cutting measures and job creation in Puerto Rico. I had excellent meetings with several congressmen from both parties, including Senator Blumenthal, and look forward to working with Congress to address these structural barriers and restore economic progress for our people.”

St. Cloud - Noticias / News Municipio de St. Cloud se une a Google para ayudar a pequeñas empresas a tener éxito St. Cloud, FL - Como parte de la iniciativa de desarrollo económico del Municipio St. Cloud para resaltar a St. Cloud en el mapa, la Alcaldesa Rebecca Borders y el Coordinador de Desarrollo Económico Ted Garrod se han unido al programa de Google Get Your Business Online (Coloque a su Negocio en el Internet). Para aprovechar las ventajas del programa, el municipio presenta la campaña “Pongamos a St. Cloud en el Mapa”. El programa de Google fue desarrollado luego de que un informe mostró que tan sólo el 37 por ciento de pequeñas empresas tienen un listado local en cualquier motor de búsqueda en el
Internet. Esas cifras significan que cuatro de cada cinco personas que realizan búsquedas en el Internet para encontrar datos de negocios no encuentran información sobre la mayoría de las pequeñas empresas locales. “Google esta básicamente proporcionando un recurso que ayuda a los comerciantes locales”, dijo Borders. “Animo a nuestros propietarios de negocios locales a tomar ventaja de este programa. City of St. Cloud partners with Google to help small businesses succeed St. Cloud, FL - As part of the City of St. Cloud’s economic development initiative to put St. Cloud on the map, Mayor Rebecca Borders and Economic Development Coordinator Ted Garrod have partnered with Google’s Get Your Business Online program. To take advantage of the program, the City will anchor the “Let’s Put St. Cloud on the Map” campaign. The Google program was developed after a report showed that only 37 percent of small businesses have a local listing on any online search engine. Those numbers mean that four in five people who search the Web to find a business’ data are actually not finding information on a majority of local small businesses. “Google is basically providing a resource that helps local merchants,” Borders said. “I encourage our local business owners to partake in this program. Businesses with complete information online are twice as likely to be considered reputable by consumers. Google is offering a free website and domain to business owners who participate for one year. The public can help, too. Everyone is invited to visit our St. Cloud web page via the “Let’s Put Our Cities on the Map” website and to support their favorite local businesses. Osceola County - Noticias / News Secretario del Condado Osceola reivindicado en decisión de emitir Licencias de Matrimonio de Igualdad en el Matrimonio Condado Osceola, FL - El 1 de julio de 2015, Florida Family Action, Inc. ("FFAI ") presentó un escrito voluntario de desestimación de la apelación presentada. El FFAI había apelado la decisión de Leticia Marques, Juez de Circuito del Noveno Circuito Judicial, desestimando un recurso de un mandamiento judicial que prohíbe al Secretario de la Corte del Condado Osceola emitir licencias de matrimonio del mismo sexo. El Honorable Armando Ramírez interpretó el Brenner v. Scott, 999 F. Supp. 1278 (ND Fla. 2014) para exigir efectivamente a los Secretarios del estado de la Florida para emitir licencias de matrimonio del mismo sexo como parte de sus funciones ministeriales. En respuesta a la decisión y como parte de sus funciones ministeriales, el Sr. Ramírez anunció que licencias de matrimonio se emitirían el 06 de enero 2015 a las 12:01 am a las primeras 30 parejas calificadas que se registraran por internet. Por otra parte, la Oficina del Secretario del Condado Osceola confirma en la página principal de su sitio web que el Secretario de la Corte está orgulloso de apoyar la igualdad de matrimonio. Osceola County Clerk vindicated in his decision to issue Marriage Equality Marriage Licenses Osceola County, FL - On July 1, 2015, the Florida Family Action, Inc. (“FFAI”) filed a notice of voluntary dismissal of the appeal filed. The FFAI had appealed the decision from Leticia Marques, Circuit Judge from the Ninth Judicial Circuit, dismissing a motion for a writ of mandamus prohibiting the Osceola County Clerk of the Court from issuing same-sex marriage licenses. The Honorable Armando Ramirez interpreted the Brenner v. Scott, 999 F. Supp. 1278 (N.D. Fla. 2014) to effectively require the Clerks of the state of Florida to issue same-sex marriage licenses as part of his ministerial duties. In response to the decision and as part of his ministerial duties, Mr. Ramirez announced that marriage licenses would be issued on January 6, 2015 at 12:01 am to the first 30 qualified couples who registered online. Furthermore, the Osceola County Clerk’s Office stated on their website’s homepage that the Clerk of the Court was proud to support
marriage equality. At 12:01 am on the 6th, Mr. Ramirez performed the first marriage equality ceremony between Cheryl Grieb and Patricia Daugherty. The appeal filed the FFAI was designed to stop the Honorable Armando Ramirez from performing his ministerial duties as mandated by the Constitution of Florida to issue samesex marriage licenses. The outcome of the case vindicates Armando Ramirez in his early recognition of his ministerial duties in reference to marriage issues. As U.S. Representative Carlos Curbelo of Miami stated “the freedom to marry is a conservative value. Entretenimiento / Entertainment Fallece Joan Sebastian “El Rey del Jaripeo” El 13 de julio de 2015, Joan Sebastian murió, a los 64 años, en su rancho en Guerrero, México, debido a cáncer en sus huesos. Su nombre real era, José Manuel Figueroa, nació en Juliatla, Guerrero y comenzó a componer a la edad de siete años. En 1974, grabó su primer álbum. Escribió más de mil canciones incluyendo composiciones para Vicente Fernández, Lucero, y Rocío Dúrcal.
Rest in peace Joan Sebastian, ‘The King of Jaripeo” On July 13, 2015, Joan Sebastian died, at age 64, at his ranch in Teacalco Guerrero, Mexico, due to bone cancer. His legal name was, Jose Manuel Figueroa was born in Juliatla, Guerrero, and began composing at the age of seven. In 1974, he recorded his first album. He wrote over a thousand songs including compositions for Vicente Fernández, Lucero, and Rocío Dúrcal.
Joan fue diagnosticado con cáncer de hueso en 1999. Fue sometido a tratamiento y sobrevivió; Sin embargo, anunció que el cáncer había regresado en 2007 por segunda vez. En julio de 2012, en uno de sus conciertos, anunció que el cáncer había regresado por tercera vez. Joan was first diagnosed with bone cancer in 1999. He underwent treatment and survived; however, he announced that the cancer had returned in 2007 for the second time. On July 2012, during one of his concerts, he announced that the cancer had returned for the third time. In 2014, he revealed that he was battling cancer for the fourth time during his performances in Zacatecas. He won seven Latin Grammy Awards and five Grammy Awards, making him the most awarded Mexican performer in Grammy history. At the time of his death, Sebastian had two number-one albums on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart and seven top ten songs on the Hot Latin Songs chart in the United States. Some of his songs are “Tatuajes” and “Secreto de Amor”.

Sheriff & Police - Noticias / News Detectives detiene a tres sospechosos de robo Condado Osceola, FL - El 11 de julio, los detectives del Sheriff del Condado Osceola arrestaron a Dominick Maldonado, Kyle Rodríguez y Kimberly Crespo por su participación en el robo que se produjo en Merrieweather Lane en Kissimmee. La investigación se inició el 9 de julio, aproximadamente a las 11:15 p.m., cuando los agentes arribaron al 2714 Merrieweather Lane en Kissimmee. A su llegada, hablaron con la víctima quien indicó que acababa de llegar a casa y se estacionó en su espacio de la entrada. Esta salió de su vehículo y estaba recogiendo artículos del asiento trasero cuando sintió que alguien violentamente arrebataba la bolsa de su hombro. La correa de su bolso se rompió y la bolsa cayó al suelo. El sospechoso cogió el bolso y huyó de la zona. Los agentes buscaron en la zona, pero no pudieron localizar al sospechoso.

Durante el curso de la investigación, los detectives identificaron a tres sospechosos que usaron la tarjeta de crédito de la víctima en el Walmart ubicado en 444 W. Vine Street en Kissimmee. Los detectives recibieron una pista que condujo a la identificación de Crespo como sospechoso. El 10 de julio, los detectives llevaron a Crespo para interrogarla. Esta cooperó con la investigación y sus declaraciones implicaron a Maldonado, como quien cometió el crimen. Esta dijo a los detectives que ella y Rodríguez esperaron en el vehículo y luego abandonaron el área. Detectives arrest three robbery suspects Osceola County, FL – On July 11, Osceola County Sheriff's detectives arrested Dominick Maldonado, Kyle Rodriguez and Kimberly Crespo for their involvement in the robbery that occurred on Merrieweather Lane in Kissimmee. The investigation began on July 9, at approximately 11:15 p.m., when deputies resounded to 2714 Merrieweather Lane in Kissimmee. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the victim who indicated she had just arrived home and parked in her driveway. She exited her vehicle and was gathering items from the backseat when she felt someone violently rip the purse off her shoulder. The purse strap broke and the purse fell to the ground. The suspect picked up the purse and fled the area. Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect. During the course of the investigation, detectives
identified three suspects who used the victim's credit card at the Walmart located at 444 W. Vine Street in Kissimmee. Detectives received a tip which led to identifying Crespo as a suspect. On July 10, detectives brought Crespo in for questioning. She cooperated with the investigation and her statements implicated Madonado, who committed the crime. She told detectives she and Rodriguez waited in the vehicle then left the area. Maldonado and Rodriguez were also brought in for questioning and they told investigators they saw the victim when she was leaving Papa John's Pizza and decided to follow her home. Based on their statements, all three suspects were arrested and charged Robbery, Petit Theft, Credit Card Fraud and Use/Possession of Identification without Consent. They were booked into the Osceola County Jail.

Suspect Arrested for Battery on a LEO and Escape After Fleeing Traffic Stop Osceola County, FL - On July 14 at approximately 1:12 a.m., Osceola County Sheriff's deputies conducted a traffic stop on West 192 near Siesta Lago, after observing a vehicle with no tail lights. When the deputy approached the driver side, he heard the driver, Derrick Delgado-Ramirez, tell his girlfriend to move to the driver seat. A check revealed Ramirez was driving with a suspended license and had a history of traffic violations. The deputy removed Ramirez from the vehicle and as he was placing handcuffs on him, Ramirez asked if he was going to be arrested. The deputy secured one handcuff on Ramirez and told him he was under arrest. Ramirez struck the deputy in the chest and
Derrick Delgado-Ramirez face before fleeing the area on foot through the Club Sevilla parking lot. The deputy received minor injuries. After further investigation, deputies received information Ramirez may be at his residence located at 2235 Roble Drive in Kissimmee. Deputies went to the residence and eventually determined he was not at that location. Ramirez's mother assisted law enforcement with contacting him, and deputies were able to convince Ramirez to turn himself in. Ramirez is charged with Escape, Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer, Resisting without Violence and Petit Theft. He was booked into the Osceola County Jail.

Kissimmee, FL – On Wednesday, July 15 the Central Florida Chamber of Commerce of Puerto Rico’s Osceola Chapter celebrated their first event since officially beginning their functions last July 1st. The purpose of the event was for the existing members of the Chamber to get to know each other as well as giving the opportunity to possible new members to hear the vision of this new Chapter and how it will affect the businesses of Osceola County and surrounding communities. Orlando luchó para mantener la posesión, logró detener algunos tiros en la primera mitad pero ninguno tuvo suerte. Apenas unos segundos antes del medio tiempo, Orlando creó una oportunidad para Dallas a tomar la iniciativa. Fabian Castillo de Dallas fue derribado en la cancha. Orlando City lose its home unbeaten streak Orlando, FL - Orlando City suffered a frustrating loss at home last Saturday. The Lions lost to Dallas FC 2-0 in front of a crowd of 30,513 fans. Dallas came out firing taking a great shot in the first 5 minutes of play. Orlando struggled to maintain possession but managed to get off a few shots in the first half but not one was lucky. Just seconds before halftime, Orlando created an opportunity for Dallas to take the lead. Fabian Castillo of Dallas was taken down in the box. The penalty kick was successfully taken by Mauro Diaz giving Dallas a 1-0 lead at halftime. Coach Adrian Heath made a few lineup changes that seemed to work. Ten minutes into the second half and Orlando found the back of the net. But the shot taken by Pedro Ribeiro did not count after a questionable offside call. Frustration was visible for Orlando players but they continued to fight. In the 63rd minute of play, Dallas doubled their lead. Orlando responded well, controlling the ball and putting pressure on the Dallas defense but could not get a good shot off. The loss broke Orlando’s at home MLS unbeaten streak. They had previously gone 7 games since their last loss at home. City was also missing key players including Kaka, Brek Shea and Darwin
Ceren. Despite the loss over the weekend, Orlando had a very exciting and productive week. Kaka was named to the 2015 AT&T MLS All-Star Game Fan XL. The full roster will be announced on the 18th. Orlando City also announced the trade with Houston Dynamo. Orlando traded general allocation money and second round pick in the 2017 SuperDraft for Corey Ashe. Ashe is an experienced left back with career highlights including two MLS All-Star appearances and a CONCACAF Gold Cup Championship with the US Men’s National Team in 2013. Ashe will be available for Orlando’s home match on July 18th against the New York Red Bulls. The fun excitement wasn’t over for OCSC yet. The team played a friendly match against West Bromwich Albion of the English Premier League. West Brom got the first goal in the 13 minute of play.
