Muere la Diva de la Banda Jenni Rivera Tras el trágico accidente que sufrió Jenni Rivera el mundo llora su desaparición. La cantante, compositora, actriz, empresaria y productora murió a los 43 años, en uno de los mejores momentos de su carrera artística. Jenni fue una de las cantantes más exitosas, llegando a vender más de 15 millones de copias de sus más de una decena de producciones discográficas, de las que se destacan “Homenaje a las grandes”, “Mi vida loca”, “La Gran Señora” y “Joyas prestadas”.

Pero el legado de la “Diva de la Banda” transciende más allá de la música: la mujer y madre ha dejado no sólo un vacío en el mundo de la música regional mexicana, sino también en el corazón de su familia, sus fanáticos y sus compañeros

de la industria quienes han compartido sus mensajes de dolor ante tan sentido fallecimiento.

Como ya sabemos, Rivera presentó un concierto en Monterrey, México, el sábado en la noche. Después de la conferencia al finalizar el evento, Jenni se mostró contenta y tranquila. Contestó preguntas sobre sus problemas personales y la separación de su esposo Esteban Loaiza, ex jugador de pelota de los Dodgers.

“No me puedo enfocar en las cosas negativas,” dijo la cantante durante la entrevista.

Horas después, a esos de las 3 a.m. se cree que Rivera a bordó un avión Learjet 25. El avión salió con destino a Toluca, al oeste de la Ciudad de México donde esta tenía que presentarse en un programa de

televisión llamado “La Voz” — Versión de México del programa “The Voice” — en el cual ella servía como jurado. La aeronave se desintegró al impactarse en tierra en un terreno montañoso. Perdieron la vida el publicista, el abogado y el maquillista de Rivera, así como los dos pilotos y otro tripulante, de acuerdo con las autoridades.

“I can’t focus on the negative,” she said in Spanish. “Because that will defeat you. That will destroy you....

Hours later, shortly after 3 a.m., Rivera is believed to have boarded a Learjet 25, which took off under clear skies. The jet headed south, toward Toluca, west of Mexico City; there, Rivera had been scheduled to tape the television show “La Voz” — Mexico’s version of “The Voice” — on which she was a judge. The plane crashed and it is said that no one survived, aboard the plane with Jenni was her publicist, the makeup artist, two pilots and another passenger.

Mexican authorities were performing DNA tests Tuesday on what are believed to be the remains of singer Jenni Rivera as her brothers arrived from Los Angeles to survey the plane crash scene. Officials told reporters in Mexico that it could take days to confirm whether the remains are those of Rivera.

Disney Clothing Donation Helps Neediest Students in Osceola Kissimmee, FL - Walt Disney World Resort is committed to strengthening Central Florida by investing in and improving the lives of children and families. Hanes, an alliance partner of The Walt Disney Company, approached Walt Disney World with an opportunity to donate excess inventory of Disney t-shirts and sweatshirts for the second year in a row. Hanes, located in North Carolina, partnered with Disney’s Community Relations to ensure that the excess inventory would be used to benefit homeless students in Osceola County, as well as in Orange, Lake, Polk and Seminole counties.

Poinciana Academy of Fine Arts Wins You Tube “Dreaming of an ICE! Christmas” Contest for the Gaylord Palms Osceola County, FL - Poinciana Academy of Fine Arts has won the You Tube “Dreaming of an ICE! Christmas” contest held by the Gaylord Palms Resort. The school’s video entry had over 23,045 views.

Each participating school wrote a customized version of their favorite holiday poem, song, or story and posted a video of the performance on You Tube. Between all the entries, there were approximately 42,000 total views and endless amounts of imagination and creativity.

The students and teachers responsible for Poinciana Academy of Fine Art’s production will be performing their show live on the Emerald Plaza stage at Gaylord Palms on Tuesday, December 18, at 12:30 p.m. Not only will they be performing live for Gaylord Palms guests, but as winners, they all will be treated to attend ICE! and a congratulatory lunch.

Sheriff & Police - Noticias / News Arrestan madre por tres casos de negligencia infantil Condado Osceola, FL - El 8 de diciembre, aproximadamente a las 4:57 p.m., los agentes del Sheriff del Condado Osceola respondieron a Cobblestone Apartment Complex en Kissimmee en referencia a negligencia infantil.

Cuando llegaron, tocaron a la puerta de un apartamento y un niño pequeño abrió la puerta y dijo, “Policía mi mamá no está aquí, yo estoy cuidando a mis hermanas.

Mom Arrested for 3 Counts of Child Neglect Osceola County, FL - On December 8 at approximately 4:57 p.m., Osceola County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Cobblestone Apartment Complex in Kissimmee in reference to child neglect. When they arrived, they knocked on the door of an apartment and a small child opened the door and said, “Policemen mommy is not here, I watching my sisters. Can you watch us now?”

Three small children ages five, three and two were in the apartment alone. Deputies contacted the Department of Children and Families and attempted to contact the childrens’ mother, Yvonne M. Rodriguez.

At approximately 6:41 p.m., Rodriguez returned home and told deputies she went to the grocery store, Best Buy and to a nail salon. She thought her five year old was mature enough to take care of his sisters. Based on her statements and the information provided by the five year old child, Rodriquez was arrested and charged with three counts of Child Neglect. She was booked into the Osceola County Jail. The Department of Children and Families contacted the childrens’ grandparents and transferred custody to them.

Career Criminal Arrested for Retail Theft Kissimmee, FL - On December 6, 2012, Kissimmee police officers responded to the Wal-Mart located at 4444 West Vine Street in Kissimmee in reference to a retail theft. While officers were on the scene, the suspect, Booker Tyrone Austin (D.O.B. 9/10/65) of Kissimmee, returned to the store to commit another retail theft. Austin would use a knife to cut the packaging containing GPS units off of the secured shelves. As Austin attempted to leave the store, he was apprehended without incident.

Austin cooperated with the officers and was transported to the Osceola County Jail where he was held on $250 bond. Booker Tyrone Austin has an extensive criminal history including a conviction in a 1988 homicide where he served more than 20 years in the Department of Corrections.

By Amanda Ludick Orlando, FL - The Orlando Magic continued their western road trip in Sacramento against the Kings with what should have been a victory. While Orlando did manage to have fewer turnovers than Sacramento, the Kings were much more productive scoring 21 points off of turnovers. Glen Davis played an incredible game aside from his five turnovers and fouling out in the final 36 seconds. Davis had 11 rebounds, 20 points, three steals, two blocks, and two assists. Orlando had a two point lead going into the fourth quarter but failed to hang on.

Jimmer Fredette, with 15 points, and Isaiah Thomas, with 17 points and four assist, of Sacramento proved to be too much. The final score had the Kings 91 to Orlando’s 82.

Orlando then headed to finish their trip in Phoenix against the Suns. Andrew Nicholson stole the show in Phoenix.

The rookie, who’s been seeing much more playing time, finally found his confidence. Nicholson ended with 19 points, nine rebounds and four steals.

Glen Davis, Aaron Afflalo, Nik Vucevic, JJ Redick and E’Twaun Moore would also finish with double digit points.

This win was much needed for this very young Magic team. Beating the Suns 98-90 was a great way to end this road trip and return home. Magic

themselves, the Magic took the floor with minimal energy. Another consistency with this team is the lack of energy at the start of the game and third quarter. The starters do not seem to be coming out fired up or ready to play. Glen Davis and Jameer Nelson, the captains, along with the coaching staff need to fix this.

Switch the starting line up around a little more, use faster rotations, and motivate these professional athletes

to come out with energy. I can’t say I’m sure what will work but they need to do something. The Magic are now 8-13 with many winnable games coming up. While Orlando’s starters waited for the tempo of the game to get set by their opponent, the Hawks were busy putting the basket in the hoop. Ending the first quarter only down by five, Orlando was once again going to have to overcome their lackluster performance to get a win. Finally, in the fourth quarter the Magic came together. Too little too late is an understatement. With 16 turnovers this game, the Magic would lose to the Hawks 86 to 80. Five of Orlando’s players finished with double digit points, Glen Davis, Aaron Afflalo, Jameer Nelson, E’Twaun Moore and JJ Redick. Rookie E’Twaun Moore finished with 11 points, four assists and one rebound, block and steal.

Coach Jacque Vaughn said he was “happy with their fourth quarter performance. Shots didn’t go in for them like they needed but the effort was there.” With another home game Friday against the Warriors, who the Magic just beat on the road, the Orlando Magic should have another “w” under their belts. That is, of course, if they come out focused, with high energy and take care of the basketball.
