A GLIMPSE INTO OUR FOUNDER FAITH INTO ACTION For more than a century, Knights of Columbus have followed the formula of faith put forth by Father McGivney. Today, with a model called Faith in Action, nearly 2 million Knights throughout the world live out the Order’s principles of charity, unity and fraternity with programs such as Food for Families, Coats for Kids, Ultrasound Initiative, Special Olympics, Vocations Support, Global Wheelchair Mission, Habitat for Humanity, Consecration to the Holy Family, and days of spiritual reflection. Thanks to the structure of the Order and the trust that Father McGivney placed in his men from the beginning, there is no limit to the good that a Knight today can do for his family, his parish, his council, and his community as he puts his faith into action. PRAYER FOR CANONIZATION God, our Father, protector of the poor and defender of the widow and orphan, you called your priest, Blessed Michael McGivney, to be an apostle of Christian family life and to lead the young to the generous service of their neighbor. Through the example of his life and virtue, may we follow your Son, Jesus Christ, more closely, fulfilling his commandment of charity and building up his Body which is the Church. Let the inspiration of your servant prompt us to greater confidence in your love so that we may continue his work of caring for the needy and the outcast. We humbly ask that you glorify Blessed Michael McGivney on earth according to the design of your holy will. Through his intercession, grant the favor I now present (here make your request). Through Christ our Lord. Amen. The Father Michael J. McGivney Guild promotes the cause for sainthood of the founder of the Knights of Columbus, who was beatified on Oct. 31, 2020. Members of the Guild, and anyone devoted to Father McGivney, can play an active role in the cause by praying for his intercession in times of need, especially in cases of serious illness, and reporting to the Guild any favors received. Membership in the Guild is free and open to anyone who is devoted to Father McGivney and wishes to invoke his intercession and assist in his sainthood cause through prayer. Members receive a quarterly newsletter and are remembered in a weekly Mass offered for their intentions. STATE OFFICER REPORT BE THE GOOD
Jim Maslach, State Warden Do you see it? You’ll find it if you look for it. Sometimes you really have to search, but good is usually there somewhere. Sadly, this modern world seems hellbent on destroying the good in it. The matter is not hopeless. If we’re not finding enough good in our lives, then it’s time to make sure we are creating our own. Here are five ways to put more good into the world around you. Each of us can be the good we want to see.
It’s one thing to know what to do, yet another thing entirely to actually do it. Many like to speak of the importance of the Golden Rule or paying it forward. “Do unto others…” is meaningless if you don’t get about the ‘doing’ part. BE GENEROUS Generosity doesn’t have to cost you anything but time. Being a listening ear for a friend or
The Knights of Columbus offers all of us and our families opportunities to Be The Good. Those opportunities help to define who and what we are, how others will perceive us, and a way to make the world a better place. Yes, the last 12-months of this pandemic we have seen the worse of who we are as a people. But inside those pockets, good can be found and brought to the surface.
It is up to us to make sure that we see the good that is going on around us— no matter how large or small. Once we see it, then we need to become the good so that the love of Christ that each of us has will find His way to shoulder to cry on is generous. So the hearts of another and another SET THE EXAMPLE is sending a brief text message to and so on. DISTRICT DEPUTY REPORT

DISTRICT DEPUTY REPORT First of all, I would like to thank all of the councils that continue to find ways to hold as many programs as possible while staying safe and also different ways to recruit new members. These adaptions may be helpful even in the post pandemic years. A special shout out to the handful of councils that found a way to still hold a safe council free throw contest. As most of you realize Jan. 31 is the due date for the fraternal survey, Form #1728. If your council has already submitted it, thank you. If not, please do so as soon as possible. This information is not just used by Supreme in it’s promotions of the order, but it also is vital in a legal aspect. To the Supreme staff, the use of these figures play an essential role in supporting the Knights of Columbus as a tax exempt organization. With as large of an organization as the Knights is, it is of the utmost importance that Supreme receives reports from every council.
Looking ahead at some dates, the semi-annual audits, form #1295-B, will be due on February 15. Don’t forget that the four “… of the Year” awards are due to the respective State Director by April 1. With just 2 months left, your process of selecting and submitting worthy nominations should begin very soon. Remember that these are required State Programs. Thank you for all you do, Mike Incorvati DD Coordinator, Cleveland Diocese

SILVER ROSE IS COMING BACK! Cleveland: July 7-10, 2021
Perfect program to start the 2021-2022 fraternal year off—The Silver Rose! The Our Lady of Guadalupe Silver Rose has been a Knights of Columbus tradition for over 50 years. In 2001 Supreme Knight Carl A. Anderson, at the 119th Supreme Council Meeting in Toronto, addressed the effort in culture of life terms, referring to the Our Lady of Guadalupe – One Life, One Rose Program. He urged that it be expanded to every North American jurisdiction. Every stop along the route of the Silver Rose Pilgrimage is an occasion for prayer and spiritual renewal centered on the rosary. Booklets containing recommended prayers, scripture readings and a litany accompany the Silver Rose and are available on the state website. This summer your council can have an opportunity. The Cleveland Diocese will have the Silver Rose from July 7-10, 2021. If your council is interested, visit the state website under ACTIVITIES > Silver Rose Tour and complete the Silver Rose Registration Form at the bottom of the page.
MEASURE UP RULERS & STICKERS Need Gimmie-5 stickers? If so, there are two (2) ways that you can get them. First, visit www.kofcohio.org and go under PROGRAMS > Measure Up. Scroll down and there is a file that, when you with the appropriate Avery label stock, you can print out your own 1/2” circle stickers. Second, you can contact Jim Maslach and he will send them out to your via USPS. Either way is good. If you are in need of rulers, please let Jim Maslach know. With the COVID restrictions, special care for the distribution of the rulers will need to take place. If there are any questions, contact Jim Maslach. 8
