State Convention!
Brother Knights the time has come for the 123rd Annual Ohio State Council State Convention! And because of that things have been very busy here around the Arch offices which is why this issue is a bit laster than usual. Nonetheless here’s what is happening:
Super Cash Bonanza:
Super Cash Bonanza Final Turn-In is due on Friday May 13th. Tickets may be brought to the State Convention or delivered to the State Treasurer’s home address (found on last page). We are on target to reach that One Million Dollars in Sales!
Drawing: Saturday, May 21, 2022 ~9:30 AM Where: Streamed LIVE from Dayton!
State Convention:
Everything is set in stone for the 2022 State Convention. It is going to be great to have everyone back together again in person. You can find many of the documents relating to the business of the state convention on the State website: kofcohio.org > Activities > State Convention
The Silver Rose:
The Silver Rose is returning to Ohio and will be traveling through our state during the month of June/July. It will arrive in the Archdiocese from the Commonwealth of Kentucky on Sunday, June 26 for four days: June 27 - June 30. It will then need to travel to the Toledo Diocese on Friday, July 1 (Canada Day).
If you are interested in hosting the Silver Rose, please contact your District Deputy as soon as possible. Please keep in mind that it will be traveling north so schedule appropriately.
District Deputies Needed:
Archdiocesan District Deputy Coordinator Tim Mangan is looking for a few good men!
We have quite a number of District Deputies retiring (or at least planning on) at the end of this fraternal year. So Tim is looking for a few faithful brother Knights to step into the breach and volunteer to be a District Deputy.
Tim, the State, and Supreme will provide all the training you need, and I for one found it to be one of the most rewarding positions a Knight can have in our order. If you have any questions or are just slightly considering it, please contact Tim, his number is on the last page of every issue of The Arch.
Finally, let us continue to pray for and end to the war in the Ukraine. Aside from prayer please consider donating to the Knights of Columbus UKRAINE SOLIDARITY FUND. You can find links to donate on the home page of kofc.org. The monies donated go to our brother Knights Poland who have set up assistance centers at the border for refugees. Every dollar provides supplies which are given directly to the refugees from the Ukraine.
And we ask for the intersession of Blessed Michael McGivney for help guide us to be better husbands, fathers, and men of strong Catholic faith.
Vivat Jesus! Michael J. Felerski
State Treasurer

RELICS OF SAINT BERNADETTE COMING TO OHIO
From April to August 2022, the relics of Saint Bernade:e will tour the United States for the first >me - coming to four parishes in Ohio and two within the Archdiocese of Cincinna> (see below). The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes has organized the pilgrimage in partnership with the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, North American Volunteers, Hospitalité of Miami, and the Order of Malta. A defining characteris>c our Order is shown through our deep devo>on to the Blessed Virgin Mary. As you know, each Knight is presented with a rosary to pray when he joins the Order. The Order has a long history of support for Lourdes, including military pilgrimages to Lourdes da>ng back to 1919.
Message from Msgr. Olivier Ribadeau Dumas Rector of the Sanctuary for the Tour
St. Bernade:e of Lourdes was born Bernade:e Soubirous on January 7, 1844, in Lourdes, France and died on April 16, 1879. Each year, over 5 million pilgrims from around the world visit the Gro:o entrus>ng prayer to the Blessed Mother where she appeared 18 >mes to Bernade:e between February and July of 1858 and iden>fied herself as “the Immaculate Concep>on”. Bernade:e’s reports were declared "worthy of belief" on February 18, 1862, and the site of the appari>ons became known as Our Lady of Lourdes. Bernade:e’s body has been exhumed three >mes, the last being on April 18, 1925, forty-six years aeer her death so that relics could be retrieved. Each >me, her remains were found to have remained incorrupt. Pope Pius XI declared Bernade:e a saint on December 8, 1933. The Church has recognized 70 miracles resul>ng from the interven>on of God with the intercession of Our Lady of Lourdes.

State Membership Director
Michael Freil
Brother Knights in The Archdiocese of Cincinnati.
We are now in the 4th Quarter of the Fraternal Year. Two months to go to increase membership in the Archdiocese. As of MAY 1, 2022 the Arch is standing at about 56% of our Goal of 426 New Members.
GROWTH is very important to each and every Council. We must continue to grow our Councils and our Order every year. Inviting a New Member into the Order is one of the most important and noteworthy accomplishments that any Knight can achieve. New Members keep our Councils vibrant and ensure our success in the years ahead.
If you are tired of recruiting, try to INVITE a Catholic man to join your Council, just as you would if you invited him into your home. Explain to him the benefits of being a Knight, in that it will make him a better Catholic, a better father and a better husband.
With only 2 months left in the Fraternal year, we need to have two good months of inviting men to join us to meet our quota for this fraternal year.
The May Membership Incentive is unique. The First 10 Membership Directors of Councils that report 4 New Members for the Month of May will receive a custom made Ghirelli St. Joseph rosary. These rosaries are made in Italy and Ghirelli is the company that the Pope and Vatican have used for many years.
The General Agent who recruits the most members in May for his Agency will also receive the Ghirelli St. Joseph rosary.
In order to claim the membership incentives email to mcfreil2019@gmail.com the name(s) of the new member as soon as possible
Keep Asking Men in your Parishes to Join our Order. If You Don’t Ask them to Join… they will not.
Additionally, McGivney 2020 is still valid for free membership until 6/30/22:
