CUBA It is an island country in the Caribbean. Which is located between the Caribbean sea and the atlantic ocean. Cuban government is a socialist republic. Its territory is organized in fifteen provinces . Its most populated city is La Habana, the capital. Cuba borders on Guatemala to the west, on Mexico to the northwest, on United States of America to the north , Xamaica to the southwest , and Haiti and Dominican Republic to the southeast. Cuban people speak Spanish. Its president is Raul Castro. Cuba is in the American continent. Its flag has blue and white horizontal lines and a red triangle with a star inside it. Most cuban people are catholic.



GASTRONOMY Cubans use many vegetables to cook because they usually harvest it. Some typical cuban foods are: suckling pig, yucca with mojo, congrí rice, meat with potatoes. Suckling pig: It´s a roast piglet, usually served with another nourishment. Yuca with mojo: Yuca is a type of tuber served with garlic and a bitter orange or lemon. Congrí rice: beans, rice, peppers, onions, bay leaves and a lot of spices Calf meat: onions, tomatoes, a lot of spices, bay coñak Drinking: Mojito , there is a delicious and typical drink of cuba. Its made of rum, chopped ice ,lemon and lime juice with mint.


MENU :

-STARTED: Avocado stuffed with a chicken salad; it's a peeled avocado appetizer with its meat tomato and grilled chicken.

-1st PLATE: Imperial rice: rice sauted with chicken, ham , shrimp and white wine

-2nd PLATE: Chicken cuban style; this is chicken roasted with pineapple and spices.

-Dessert: Torrejas (french toast) : This is french bread in beaten eggs and fried in hot oil,then sprinkled with brown sugar.


Chicken cuban style Ingredients: 1 chicken cut in small pieces 1 onion 1 red pepper 1 tablespoon mustard 1 cinnamon stick 1 glass of white wine 1 can pineapple slices (Cut in dices) 1 glass pineapple juice 1 tablespoon white vinegar 1 cup red sauce 1½ cup milk mixed with 2 tablespoons corn flour Preparation: ● Brown the chicken ● Cut the pepper into strips and fry them with the onion. Add to the chicken ● Add the rest of the ingredients ● Stir and put a lit on the pan ● Leave it until cooked ● Accompany with white rice
