Galicia is an autonomous community in northwest Spain. Its capital is Santiago de Compostela in A Coruña. Galicia borders on Portugal to the south, on the Atlantic Ocean to the west, on Cantabrian Sea to the north and on Asturias to the east. The population of Galicia has 2.765.940 inhabitants in 2013 The flag of Galicia which has a diagonal stripe over a white background, was design in 1984. The president of Galicia is Alberto Núñez Feijóo. In Galicia there are two languages, they are Spanish and Galician. The main religion of Galician people is catholicism, but there are many other different religions

FIRST PLATE: COCIDO: Ingredients: ● 1 Kg pork ● Salt pork ● Pork cutlet ● 8 potatoes ● 1 Kg chickpeas ● 1 turnip tops or cabbage
● 4 spicy sausages “chorizo”
PREPARATION: Boil the pork with the chickpeas. Add the potatoes and when they are a bit boiled, add the turnip tops and the spicy sausages. When everything is boiled, put it in a large dish and serve.
