1...Agatha Christie She was a British writer specialized in mystery and crime genres. She was internationally recognized. Almost all her novels have been translated into all languages and several of them have been adapted to the cinema and theatre. She was born in Torquay on 15 of September of 1890 and died in Wallingford on 12 of January of 1976. Her parents were Federick Alvah Miller and Clarissa Margaret Boehmer. She had two brothers. Her father died when she was eleven years old. Her mother taunght her to read and write... When she was sixteen years old she went to the school ‘Dryden’ in Paris. She learned to sing, to dance, play the piano and French during her stay there. During the first world war she worked as a nurse and worked in a dispensary of the red cross. She married Archibald Christie in 1916 and they divorced in 1928. After the divorce nobody knew where she was. Eleven days later she returned. The people thought that she suffered a nervous breakdown for the divorce. She married again to Max Mallowan. During the second world war she worked in a pharmacy where she learned more about poison, and She used this knowledge to write her novels.

2...Summary The book tells the story about ten characters that go to an island because they are invited by an unknown to spend a few days in ‘’La isla del negro’’. When they arrive to the island they begin to die of different ways. Nobody knows who the assassin is. At the end of the book, one message in a bottle tells us what happens and who the assassin is. Setting • Geographical location-Territory of Devon • Time period-1945 • The specific building room and so forth- ‘La isla del negro’ Characters The characters of this novel are flat and static. -Vera Claythorne- She was a secretary and she was employed by the assassin. -Philip Lombard- He was a captain. He went to the island for business. -William Henry Blore- He pretended to be a commander. -Emily Brent- She was an old woman. She was invited to the island by a friend. -Anthony James Marston- He thought that he was invited to the island to meet a new rich family. -John Macarthur- He was a general. He didn’t want that the rest of the guests thought that he was the assassin. -Wargrave- He was a judge. -Ethel Rogers- She was a cook. She married Thomas Rogers. -Amstrong- He was a butler. He married Ethel.

Plot Ten people have been invited to a mansion in one Island in Devon. When they arrive at the mansion they go to their rooms. In each room there is a song hanging on the walls. The title of the song is ‘Ten little soldiers’ Mrs.Roger puts a record that Mr.Owen had ordered her to put it while the guests were drinking coffee. The record wasn’t a song. The record told the different murders that the guest had done in the past. The guests thought that they were tricked to go to the island and now they couldn't go back. They begin to die one by one following the song of their rooms. Anthony Marston is the first to die, his drink was poisoned with cyanide. Later, Mrs.Roger dies peacefully in her bed. Macarthur is found dead with a blow in his head. Wargrave organizes the group and they try to find who is the assassin. The next morning Mr.Rogers is found dead with an axe in his head. Later Brent dies because of an injection of potassium. The survivors are paranoids and very nervous. The guests decide hide the arms, but the Lombard’s revolver has gone missing. Vera goes to her room and she is frightened with a seaweed because she remembers the suffocate boy. Blore, Lombard and Amstrong go to help her. When they go down, they find Wargrave with a bullet hole in his head. He is dead. That night they listen to someone and they discover that Amstrong has disappeared. In the morning after breakfast they go to the beach. They want to stay in a safe open place. Blore goes to the house, but he doesn’t return. Vera and Lombard discover his body crushed by a beer-shaped clock. They think that the assassin is Amstrong but they find his body. Vera takes the revolver and kills Lombard. In the end she returns to the house very tired. She goes to her room and she hangs herself. EPILOGO It is Judge Wargrave’s confession about the crimes and he explains how he pretended his own dead.

Nine little Soldier boys sat up very late; One overslept himself and then there were eight. Eight little Soldier boys traveling in Devon; One said he'd stay there and then there were seven. Seven little Soldier boys chopping up sticks; One chopped himself in halves and then there were six. Six little Soldier boys playing with a hive; A bumblebee stung one and then there were five. Five little Soldier boys going in for law; One got in Chancery and then there were four. Four little Soldier boys going out to sea; This song appears in the book and it summarizes the story. It tells us how the different murders are.
4...Personal opinion I think that you should read the book because it is very intriguing. It maintains the curiosity even to the end. For me it’s better than any other mystery book.
