Arizona Tiki Oasis celebrates the grandeur of Hotel Valley Ho by filling the hotel with appreciative guests, that’s you, and by sharing the living architecture that has been restored and refurbished with such care. What better way to appreciate this, and other, historic sites than to patronize them. Preservation is one of our core values, therefore we have partnered with Arizona Preservation Foundation for this years’ event to further support preservation of Arizona’s historic architecture. We have curated the event so that you can tour the grounds of the Hotel Valley Ho while enjoying various unique experiences. Explore every corner of the hotel property and do not miss the Skyline Rooftop (normally closed to the public) featuring sunsets and crafted tropical cocktails by our featured mixologists. Learn something new at one of our educational seminars conducted by dedicated and knowledgeable experts in all aspects of Mid‑Century and Polynesian Pop culture. Shop the largest Tiki marketplace in Arizona full of artists, traders and tinkerers. Partake in our evening nightclub events in The Sands (formerly Trader Vic’s) including cocktails by top mixologists and our ‘Midnight at Tiki Oasis’ late night saucy burlesque shows on Friday and Saturday. Allow some time during the day or evening to lounge in and around the Oh Pool with its own poolside bar, plus live entertainment and soundtrack provided by Arizona Tiki Oasis.

Barbra Seville

Barbra Seville has been delighting audiences from coast to coast for over two decades. Dahlia de la Nuit first set foot on stage as a child, and immediately knew she had found her calling. Dahlia has a penchant for dark glamour, as well as many years of training in numerous classical dance forms. This award-winning performer has graced stages all over the Southwest and has also had the opportunity to compete in the prestigious burlesque competition at Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend. Known as ‘The Dark Flower of Burlesque’, her enthralling stage style and bewitching looks will take you on a tantalizing journey you will never forget.

Desert Soul Club

Inspired by the UK mod movement of the 1960s, Desert Soul Club began in 2016 to bring a monthly club of soul music to Mid-Century MODerncentric Palm Springs, as well as the hi-desert. Desert Soul Club DJs Lee Joseph and Bob Deck spin a mix of 1960s r&b, soul, blue-eyed soul, Latin soul, and ska, adding early funk and a few UK and US mod, freakbeat, and garage tracks to the mix. The duo digs deep into their cache of 45 RPM platters, inviting you to the dance floor to stomp, shout, and work it on out!

Di’Lovely

Di’ Lovely never ceases to slay each stage she graces across the globe. She’s proven to be a crowd-pleaser, winning “Best Burlesque” at the Arizona Burlesque Festival. Di’ Lovely grew up as a Polynesian dancer, performing at the Bali Hai Restaurant, and continues to perform at the competitive level. She also had the honor of headlining major burlesque festivals in Australia, the Philippines, and Canada. In 2017 she won the Miss Tiki Oasis crown.

Disc Jockey El Dedo has been spinning wax for 15 years solid. He has traveled all over the United States, providing the sounds at events such as Viva Las Vegas, the Western Swing Out, the New England ShakeUp, and various monthly gigs in LA and SD. Dottie May Duitt

Dottie has been part of the burlesque community for eight glorious years, has performed in Phoenix Arizona with Spellbound Productions, and has now joined the production team, also performing in Tucson with Strip Local, Don’t Blink Burlesque, and Affaire d’Amour. She is one-quarter of The MTP. She has had the honor of performing in the 1st Oregon Burlesque Festival, the 6th Colorado Burlesque Festival, and for several years at the Arizona Annual Burlesque festival.

Gianni Beatnik

Since 2019, Gianni Beatnik is thee swingin’ big daddy. He’s kooky; a real gone gasser from Swelterville Phoenix, AZ. He’s rising and making the scene in his hometown. Introducing Grassy Noel, resident DJ at RecordbarRadio in Phoenix, specializing in 45rpm records. Grassy Noel also spins jazz on Sundays at the Womack in Phoenix. Switching gears, he can be found jamming Latin joints at Barcoa in Phoenix every other Tuesday. He also spins the good stuff at various events from Honolulu to Memphis. Disc Jockey KateScratchFever has been fortunate enough to spin at the best local clubs in town and at some of the biggest skateboarding contests in the country, including those sponsored by Vans, Thrasher Magazine, and Red Bull. KateScratchFever finds joy in lending talents to local non-profits like The Joy Bus and Cowtown s.k.a.t.e . Layla La’Moon

Southern Arizona’s island beauty Layla La’Moon hails from Tucson, Arizona. She began dancing the hula when she was two years old. In 2012, Layla took a burlesque class at Fanny’s Fox Den and has been hypnotizing audiences with her hula hips since! Lifelong music fanatic and record collector, “DJ Lee” had been spinning professionally since 1999. He started the Dionysus Records label in late 1983 in Tucson, AZ, spent over three decades in the L.A. area, and is now a Joshua Tree resident DJing in the hi and low deserts. Known for her love of classic burlesque glamour and sizzling style, Maxi Millions is a multi-award-winning burlesque dancer and instructor based in Phoenix, AZ. Nick Feratu

Nick Feratu is a singer/guitarist/songwriter and lifelong music nerd & record collector from Phoenix, AZ. He founded The Limit Club in 2005, released many albums independently, toured frequently, and played with many rock ‘n’ roll luminaries including Tim Polecat (from The Polecats, “Make A Circuit With Me”, “Rockabilly Guy”), Slim Jim Phantom (from the Stray Cats, “Rock This Town”, “Stray Cat Strut”). Otto von Stroheim got his Exotica start bringing the music to the people in 1995, playing thrift shopped lounge and easy listening records at Los Angeles venues such as The Derby and on KXLU. Otto has made over 1000 DJ appearances and opened for Combustible Edison, Sergio Mendes, and The Ventures. He has DJed at the Beauty Bar SF, Urban Outfitters, Bimbos 365 Club, Trader Vic’s Emeryville, The Tonga Room (on the boat), and has a residency at Forbidden Island, first Thursdays since 2009.

Par Avion takes California instrumental surf on an international flight, smuggling musical spices and influences as they please. Ruby Champagne

Winner of Miss Tiki Oasis 2018, Ruby Champagne has performed in various festivals and competitions worldwide. An award-winning performer, her titles include “Miss Viva Las Vegas” 2010, “Best Soloist” at BurlyQ 2012, and “Queen of Burlesque” 2014 at the San Antonio Burlesque Festival. Señor Amor

When Señor Amor was eight years old, he inherited the record collection of Shriners Local 57 consisting of rare exotica and Latin music. Within months, using this new collection, he began DJing elementary school dances throughout the Central and Northern edges of the San Fernando Valley. Later he became the co-host of The Molotov Cocktail Hour on KXLU, a position he holds to this day. Señor loves to spin Latin jazz, boogaloo, 60’s garage, au go-go, funk, soul, and international covers of American and English songs.

The Surfbroads

Tucson-based Surfbroads is not so much a band as it is a visual and sonic experience. Imagine the classic twang and reverb-drenched sound of ‘60s surf rock. Now add some garagey rock ‘n’ roll snarl and “Uma Theremin”—an illuminated, electronic instrument that lives inside a mannequin torso. Stir in some guitar, bass, drums, and put it all into a collection of reimagined covers from 1960s and ‘70s rock icons and what have you got? A sexy, surf’s up dance party hosted by none other than The Surfbroads.

Arizona’s own, Thee Stillnites, are a Phoenix-based trio comprised of local musical veterans raised under the desert sun. Ace Bailey has worked in the arts and tourism fields for 20 years. Adam Rains

Adam Rains has a true passion for food, wine, beer, and spirits, and is the 2019 Nevada Restaurant Association’s “Drink Specialist of the Year” along with 2020 Italicus “Bar Artist of the Year.” He is the Lead Mixologist and Beverage Director for Golden Tiki and a founding member of the marketing company Polite Society. He represents Lemba Rum and Alma Tequila and is assisting in developing a new whiskey for Silver State Distillery. Didi Saiki, Fred Acebo & Samuel Miller

B4Change is a grassroots organization of BIPOC hospitality professionals, dedicated to reshaping the industry and community to be more inclusive and equitable. B4Change focuses on anti-racist education through posted action items, allowing people to engage with progressive movements, and helping disenfranchised people. When not working with the Tiki community, they work with San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood and distribute clothing, shoes, and apparel for anyone in need. Gabrielle Maser

Gabrielle Maser grew up in Mill Valley, California, and began her career working at some of the West Coasts’ truly amazing restaurants. She discovered her true home when she moved to Kailua-Kona, Hawai’i, and earned her BA in Interior Design at Chaminade University. She was mentored and guided by Honolulu’s own master cocktail creator Christian Self of Bevy, and honed her mixology and craft bartending skills as she learned from an expert how to design and concoct unique, balanced, and beautiful cocktail creations. Jay Mark

Jay Mark has produced antiques-related books for Dover, was a contributor to And Tiko-Tu? a study of regional Mid-century architecture, and wrote nearly 800 local history columns for The Arizona Republic. He regularly contributes to the Antiques Register and Arizona Contractor and Community and has been recognized by the Arizona Historical Society’s “Al Merito Award”, the State Historic Preservation Office / Arizona Preservation Foundation’s “Governor’s Heritage Preservation Award”, and the City of Mesa “Historic Preservation Award for Outstanding Achievement: Lifetime Contribution”.

Just Abby

Australia’s burlesque bartender, Abby, catapulted to notoriety after winning the national title of “Patron Perfectionist Australia” in 2018, a mere eight months after mixing her first drink. With her cocktail, The Muldjewangk, she championed Australian native ingredients in a newwave Tiki style that saw her compete as one of twenty global finalists that year. Now the national ambassador for Australian craft spirits with Nip Of Courage, Abby works to create awareness for local producers, with an unapologetically tropical vibe.

Marshall Shore

Marshall Shore, a.k.a. Arizona’s Hip Historian, is a librarian turned hipstorian. When moving to Arizona 18 years ago, he often heard the cry “there is no history here,” but that was simply not true. Following his passion for uncovering the weird, the wonderful, and the obscure treasures from our past, Shore celebrates those semi-forgotten people, places, and events that have made us who we are today. He has developed an almost cult-like following for sharing history through trivia, tours, and lectures.

Matt Pietrek

Once New Orleans-based Matt Pietrek donned a Hawaiian shirt and made a proper 1944 Mai Tai, his life changed forever, leading him to become a renowned expert in spirits and cocktails. Nicole Vasbinder Pacheco

Nicole Vasbinder Pacheco is a super crafty dynamo and the designer behind Nikolani, a small custom aloha clothing line where she creates caftans, shirts, hats, and more! She has owned StitchCraft in Petaluma, CA since 2008 where she has taught thousands the joy of sewing. Nicole has written three books and worked as a designer and merchandiser in the garment industry. Die-hard swizzle stick collector, Pam Ashlund manifested her dream when she launched the House of Swizzle. Her swizzle-studded Instagram page features many of her favorites. She serves as the editor/writer for the Swizzle Stick Collectors Association and is currently working on a history book, written: “from the point of view of a swizzle stick”. Pam has a collection of 50,000 swizzle sticks and has been featured in numerous publications. Ron Ferrell

Ron is a longtime collector of vintage surf, tiki, nautical, and Polynesia, and enjoys traveling to Hawaii, Tahiti, Brazil, Cuba, and the Cook Islands. He has amassed a huge library of movies, music, commercials, TV shows, and photos of Tiki and the South Pacific. He is a writer, artist, carver, mug designer/maker, and tropical lamp builder for home and commercial bars including Smuggler’s Cove, Ventiki, Hale Pele, and Inside Passage. An educator, designer, and builder of The Rincon Room, he is also a partner in Sespe Creek Distillery. @rincontradingpost

Steve Conrad and Juliet Frew

Steve Conrad and Juliet Frew have both performed and taught ukulele for many years. Steve is a member of the Ukebillies who play 1950s and ‘60s covers on the ukulele. Steve and Juliet taught at both Arizona Tiki Oasis and Tiki Oasis San Diego in 2021. Juliet brings patience and attention to new players to help them get started on this beautiful instrument. Steve is also a Lindy Hop and Swing Dancing teacher. He was recently featured on ABC’s The Bachelorette, HGTV’s House Hunters, and NBC’s Little Big Shots: Forever Young, as well as numerous music videos. Juliet Frew developed her love of dance at a young age and is also an experienced Lindy Hop and Swing dancer. Sven Kirsten

His love for visuals inspired Sven to collect and photograph the remnants of the forgotten culture of Polynesian pop in America, leading him to identify the Tiki as its icon. He published his findings in The Book of Tiki in 2000, presenting all the aspects of Tiki style– its design, graphics, architecture, social culture, and cocktail mixology, which put Tiki firmly on the map of American pop culture. Tiki Lindy

Tiki Lindy started in the cocktail industry nearly two decades ago. A private events bartender, tiki bar menu, and event cocktail consultant, she regularly represents spirits brands and guest bartends at tiki bars. Her roots run even deeper in the culinary world. She is the author of Tiki Lindy’s Field Guide to Pupus, Tidbits & Exotic Provisions, Tiki Lindy’s Compendium of Tropical Delicacies & Adventurous Eats, and Retrolicious: Retro Inspired Cocktails & Mocktails. BigToe, aka Tom Laura, was raised in SoCal on a steady beach-rat diet of Ed Roth, Mad Magazine, and Surfer Magazine’s Rick Griffin. Tom creates art with a casual, tongue-in-cheek sense of humor and playful eroticism that offers a nostalgic escape in our fastpaced world. The acclaimed designer Rudolph “Rudi” Gernreich was an American fashion designer whose avant-garde clothing designs are generally regarded as the most innovative and dynamic fashion of the 1960s. Gernreich purposefully used fashion design as a social statement to advance sexual freedom and was known for innovative and body-positive creations such as his famous “monokini” topless swimsuit. Let’s talk about RUM! Rum has always been an island spirit, but wait ’til you see what’s happening in the Hawai’ian Islands. Have you heard of Okole Hau, the original spirit distilled in Hawai’i? From Oahu, Kauai, to the Big Island, each spirit has a different style and terroir that brings something completely unique and delicious to your glass. Gabrielle Maser, Director of the Kona Cocktail Academy on the Big Island of Hawai’i, is eager to share a curated selection of Hawaiian spirits with you and show you how to incorporate these unique nectars into your favorite tropical cocktails.

In this session, you’ll learn a common sense yet revolutionary way to understand what you’ll use most often and what you won’t.
