TEDDY BEAR TOUCHDOWN TEDDY BEAR TOUCHDOWN Our Teddy Bear Touchdowns are holiday events for children with HIV and AIDS in many cities throughout the United States and several foreign countries. The holiday season is a special time for all children. But our wonderful kids come from financially challenged families dealing with the additional financial strains of high medical costs. Without your help many of these children would not have a gift this holiday season We are looking for businesses, organizations, churches, groups and our fellow Americans to donate new teddy bears and other gifts to be given during the upcoming holiday season to children affected and effected with HIV and AIDS. YOU can help make a difference in the lives of these great children this holiday season. With your generous donation, each of our special children will receive at least one gift for the holidays. No matter which holiday you and your family celebrate, I think we can all agree that children should have hope and joy to brighten their lives during the holiday season. The smiles and laughter of the kids opening their gifts is a sight for the heart and soul. You can help our children by donating a new teddy bear or other gifts for these very special children and help us add hope, joy and happiness to their lives this holiday season. Your tax deductible donation can erase the pain and hurt of a child dealing with a chronic illness for one day and fill their hearts with hope. Other great donation ideas for the children: winter coats, sweaters, toys and gift cards (WalMart, Target, KMart, ToysRUs, Winn Dixie and Publix), school supplies and/or backpacks and games (board, card etc).

The majority of the members voted; by showing of hands, “Hot Springs Gay Pride” to be the name for the organization. Trevor Nelson again took the floor and proposed Hot Springs Gay Pride’s Mission statement to be discussed before the organization, and asked Eli Hicks to read the Mission statement that was comprised of three mission statements; which were voted on by the Committee of Nine members. Eli Hicks read out the Mission Statement, and then Trevor Nelson open floor for discussion and no one felt the need to discuss the statement read. Trevor Nelson proposed to adopt the Mission statement, and all members of the group agreed. Mission Statement was adopted. After the reading of the structure of the organization; the floor was open for discussion, no one disagreed with what the Committee of Nine had put together. Trevor Nelson proposed to adopt the charter, and the organization adopted the Charter for Hot Springs Gay Pride. Trevor Nelson again took the floor and nominations for the officers of the Executive Board for Hot Springs Gay Pride commenced. The Officers for President and Treasurer had only one nominee on each. There were no other nominations or volunteers for these two officer positions. The Other Five positions on the Executive Board (Vice President, Secretary, and Three At Large Members) went up for vote by secret ballot and Larry Paris, Trey Weir(from Little Rock), and Chris Jacks(from Little Rock), tallied the ballots. The Secretary Ballots were counted by Trevor Nelson,

Trey Weir, and Chris Jacks; being Larry Paris was one of the Nominees for that officer position. The Executive Board for Hot Springs Gay Pride is as follows: President -- Trevor Nelson Vice President – Martha Ross Secretary – Larry Paris Treasurer – Neil Thomas At Large Members -- Anne Jones, Eli Hicks, Conrad Lewis We took a 15 minute break after elections. Trevor Nelson introduced Trey Weir from Little Rock. To talk to us about A.I.M., he told us to look for big announcement on Wednesday, August 14th. He then asked Zack from Little Rock to speak; he is a member of Central Arkansas Pride a group that is partnered with PFLAG. Zack informed us to look at their face book page, and website, and also informed us of Little Rock Pride on October 5th. And that there was going to be a block party. Martha Ross asked if we could march as a group at the event, and Zack said yes. Shon DeArmon asked if we could get Cornelius Mabin to come and speak at our next meeting, about the Affordable Care Act. Group was in agreement. Ideas where to have our next social activity were discussed, and that we should stay posted to the face book group for up and coming events. The group took up donations to give to the U.U. Church for the use of their facilities, we contributed $73 to them. Way to go Hot Springs Gay Pride!! Meeting ended at 9:05pm Trevor Nelson has asked that the members of the group have a plan to go along with their provided suggestions for our social activities.
