Todays garage is more than just a garage! Storing our recreational toys, lawn and garden equipment and even providing an additional work space, when done right these untapped resources can become a valuable asset. There are products and services that can help you design and utilize all the space from providing innovative concrete coatings, custom cabinet options, wall finishing accessories and stylish garage doors that enhance your overall home.

Transforming this often-cluttered underutilized space into a customized garage environment that not only looks great but also provides garage storage solutions to fit all of your needs is a spring project that you will surely want to take on this year.

Starting with the floor, you can now purchase products with high UV resistance which means they do not yellow or fade over time. The coatings are also able to resist oil stains and deterioration of salt, gasoline and other contaminates. Available in a large variety of epoxy options, colours and decorative finishes your transformation can begin year round and the floor installation often can be completed in as little as one day.

Now convert your walls into storage with some great vinyl panels and pegboard locking systems now on the market. Some of the textured panels are backed with foam insulation so you benefit from insulating your space at the same time. Many of the materials can be made of a durable product that is low maintenance. European inspired cabinets are now offered in an assortment of colours and styles so you can create a workspace that not only has a timeless design but also advanced functionality. So this spring put on your to do list a revamp or new build of a garage that will not only increase the value of your property but allow you to enjoy this underutilized space with amazing products that are now available to make your garage an extension of your home.

Once you are all done, if you still are short on space for those seasonal items that you don’t need taking up valuable space, remember you can always rent a storage unit. These commercial sites have great security, a variety of sizes and convenient locality so you can stop in as often as you like.
