JUNIOR CORNER PREVIEW
Welcome to Outer East Football Netball Junior Grand Final Day 2023.
Congratulations to all teams that played in our Younger age group grand finals last Sunday at Belgrave.
It was a fantastic day of football and I would like to thank Belgrave JFC their committee and volunteers for hosting such a wonderful event.
There is so much to celebrate today, the culmination of so much hard work by our players, coaches, committees, volunteers and parents/guardians.
Good luck to all sides playing today and well done to all teams who season is now over.
Thank you to all our Junior finals host clubs, your commitment to giving the players an opportunity to show their skills during our finals was fantastic.
This year we had more Junior participants than ever before and would like to thank each of the clubs committees for their effort in offering children the chance to enjoy the sport that we all love.
We had fantastic numbers in our non competitive competitions (Under 9 Wayalaks & Under 10’s), which is a great sign for our future.
Our junior competition does not only offer our participants an enjoyable place to play, but also offers a chance for a lot of children to become umpires.
Without umpires we would not be able to play, so I would like to congratulate all our junior umpires, who officiated throughout the season.
To our Junior umpire mentor/coach Warwick Marsh, thank you for your effort in leading such a fine group of young boys and girls.
Each week during the season we need to fill at least 63 games of junior football. I would like to thank Emily Jose who performs this task magnificently.
To all our OEFN staff, Junior Advisory committee members, OEFN board members and Club Presidents, Thank you for your support during this season.
Lastly it has been a privilege watching our players enjoying their time playing with their mates and learning skills throughout the season. Well done.

Quote from Mt. Evelyn’s Coach Mackenzie Adams
“I’m really looking forward to an exciting grand final against Healesville. They are a very strong side and display awesome football skills. I am so proud of what my girls have been able to achieve both on and off the field this season, they are training hard and doing all the right things to give them the best possible chance of coming away with a premiership. To go through a season undefeated is super impressive but that means nothing when it comes to finals as it is a whole different ball game. We take confidence in our game style and in our ability into this weeks grand final and know that we can trust every girl out on the ground to give it their all. Playing in a grand final is something special, and I know the girls are soaking up the exciting build up to this week’s game.”
Quote from Healesville’s Coach Geoff Stock
“Our girls are Super Excited about the opportunity that lies before them. We have had so much fun this year and the development of the group has been great to watch. If our past games against Mt Eve are anything to go by it should be a fantastic contest”

“I think this year's Grand final rematch has the potential to be a great game and will most likely be a game of momentum. Olinda have some real quality players around the ground that we will be keeping a close eye on and have seemingly come into form at the right time of the season. When it comes to our boys, we have a very clear game plan that we have been pushing for the last two years and I know that if we bring a high intensity with a team first attitude it will put us in the best position to get the win.”
“The boys have played some fantastic footy over the last month against quality opposition, giving them the opportunity to play in a Grand Final. What better way to test yourself than against the flag favourites and reigning premiers! Finals are funny things, and anything can happen. I'm looking forward to a great contest.”
