President’s Report
It is amazing to think that another season has gone by! Season 2013 started off with the disappointing news that our trainee program had to be cancelled due to Government funding cuts. It was very sad for the 30 + trainees ready to undertake further studies. We hope to get the program up and going again, but a lot depends on “the powers to be”. Hopefully, they can see the benefits of such a program.
Congratulations go to all the clubs this year in providing their communities a sporting outlet via football and netball. To our finals teams and especially all the premiership teams, congrats. This year we saw 9 out of 10 Division 1 clubs and all 8 Division 2 clubs compete in finals in either football or netball or both! The Veterans were once again in town and it was great to see Marysville play in the GF against Wandin in front of a magnificent crowd at Woori Yallock. This game was ‘live’ streamed for the first time, and proved to be a huge success.
To all our clubs that hosted finals, thank you and your volunteers for providing first class facilities once again. As a result, with Mother Nature on our side for once, we had a record breaking final series.
Sponsorship is a big part in the YVMDFNL. We are fortunate to have great partnerships with our many sponsors. To our business and naming rights partner –The Bendigo Community Banks (via Mark Nolan) we thank you for your continued support of our sporting community. High Mountain Spring Water (Charles Exton) has been a long time Division 1 sponsor and Swenrick Constructions (David & Toni Carter) have taken Division 2 to heart. You will always see David ‘hands on’ at our finals venues. Netball continues to be sponsored by Sticks Yarra Valley (Darren Edwards) and YV Financial Services (Les King) has been our Division1&2 Reserves sponsor for a number of years.
The broadcasting of football & netball continues to grow. With simulcasts through 3MDR (97.1) & YVFM (99.1) and our “live” stream through Valley Vision (Jason Sach) our product is second to none. Jason also handles our Football/Netball show and this year we visited a few clubs in the latter part of the season with good results. We know our overseas and interstate friends really enjoy the broadcast. I would like to thank Jason and his crew, and also long time mate Tony Foo for doing a great job.
This year interleague was a trip to the powerhouse Gippsland FL in Moe. Our netballers were once again successful, and our U18’s were unlucky to lose due to some errant kicking in the 1st quarter. Our seniors were well beaten by a very professional unit from Gippsland. I would really like to thank and congratulate our coaches who volunteer their time and put hours of work towards interleague. Our netball coach Kate Upton (undefeated) , first time footy coaches: Travis Selby (U18’s) and Mick Scott (Seniors). Their efforts and dedication towards providing pathways for our elite players is to be highly commended. To our trainers, Karen Webb (12 years), Frances Van Der Weele, Rachel Credlin and Natalie Tesoriero and volunteers, many thanks.
Umpiring is always a debate waiting to happen! We are blessed to have had a great ‘crew’, with Director of Umpiring Shane Mason and his staff of John Edwards, Steve Edwards, Bob Allen and Brad Scicluna. Shane and Brad have decided to retire this year due to family and work commitments and we at the YVMDFNL owe them a great deal of thanks. We hope we see you around the league in 2014.
We have already appointed a new director of umpiring, with highly regarded and respected Trevor McGary taking the reins in season 2014. We wish him and his staff all the best and let clubs know that he is very approachable and open to constructive dialogue at all times.
Presentation night was held at the York on Lilydale, where another good night was held. Congratulations to all award winners and a special thank you to Rick Wall (OFC) for another fantastic roll as MC.
At present, the process of developing a new Commission is underway. At this stage a working party, consisting of members from the YVMDFNL, DRJFL, and the YRUA are interviewing prospective commissioners. Their task will be the eventual ‘merger’ of all bodies to create one league from juniors to seniors.
Our staff of CEO Steve Walter, Football Operations Manager Judy Orren, a big thank you. These two always go beyond the call of duty. We also employed two part time staff mid-season, and we welcome to our league Kate Upton and Gayle Seeger.
To my fellow directors, Vice President Mark Sandilands, Mick Hill, Bill Heppell, Jodi Chandler, Mark Mays, Mike Fleming and Bill Kuys – many thanks for continuing your involvement in local football/ netball. To our wives, husbands, and partners, thank you for allowing us to do what we love.
I would like to thank all of the clubs for their ongoing support throughout season 2013 and hope to see you all again for season 2014.

Chief Executive Officer’s Report
The seasons just keep ticking over and when you look back, you wonder where our era has gone. That is why it is important for clubs and leagues to map out their medium and long term projects. In fact small triumphs over an extended period can deliver significant value to your club. We should never lose sight of infrastructure improvements and although many of us get all too consumed about ‘the moment and winning’, we should never lose sight of improving our facilities, as those improvements can last a lifetime – we can then capably handover our facility to the next generation of players and administrators. Winning is important but perhaps more important is the warm and family friendly environment that we can generate as a League for all of our members, their families and supporters. Perhaps it is worth reminding ourselves of our League mission...
‘To deliver a premium community service to the athletes, families, supporters and clubs within our geographic boundaries who are passionate about the sports of football and netball. Our focus will aim to ensure opportunities are available for all to participate in our chosen sports with the primary goal of encouraging families & athletes to enjoy a safe, vibrant and healthy sporting environment.’
There are some wonderful projects on the drawing board and the partnerships that clubs have shaped with key stakeholders, expressly the Community Banks is delivering everlasting enhancement to our facilities. To that end, the relationship with the Shire of Yarra Ranges is strong and does demonstrate that we are all here to advance our community assets.
The Bendigo Community Banks in the Yarra Valley and Mountain District areas have committed once again to support our football & netball league. The Community Bank is one of a rare breed of companies that truly dedicates itself to improving our local community. The support of Mark Nolan (Bendigo Regional Manager) and all of the local Community Bank Chairs is highly valued. As a league we are confident that our partnership with the Community Banks will deliver sustained benefits to both organisations.
The YVMDFNL cannot be successful without the committed support and generosity of our sponsors. High Mountain Spring Water continue to be a loyal and dedicated supporter of our League and we thank Charles Exton for his generous sponsorship.
Swenrick Constructions is a dedicated partner and sponsor of our League. Swenrick’s Principal David Carter delivers great value not just in a sponsorship sense, David is also there on hand to lend whatever support he can to ensure our grand finals can be the best they can be. We value highly Swenrick’s partnership and we will be keen to ensure their commitment to our League will deliver positive benefits to the Swenrick Company.
The outstanding support of Darren Edwards - Sticks Yarra Valley; Les King - YV Financial Services, Amanda - Narellan Pools, and Janine McClelland – the Remedy Group continues to deliver great value to our sporting community... thank you for you support.
As a League, we are only as good as our clubs. The administration and leadership displayed by all clubs is no doubt a great strength of our competition. All of our volunteers deliver an outstanding service to their community and are the very reason we are as successful as we are. Congratulations to all of our clubs and their hard working committees & volunteers who make it all possible.
Once again, Woori Yallock has defied the odds and this time turned average August form into match winning finals performances. Can they do it three years in a row? Well, with Woori anything is possible. And of course their U18 team has displayed talent that will place them in good stead for many years to come. Although Upwey will be disappointed with their grand final football performance, Upwey can be proud of their A grade netball team who took out this year’s premiership with a stellar performance. Division 2 saw Healesville re-kindle their spirit with a well earned victory over a gallant Seville, and similar to Division One, Seville netball showed their class with a polished season and taking out Netball A Grade honours. Newcomers Wandin gained premiership honours in the Vets, however it was perhaps Marysville who stunned all supporters with a semi final performance of great courage by beating top team Woori to gain a grand final berth for the first time.
This season we trialled a new U18 program, partly because we did not have too many other options as many clubs struggled to establish their U18 teams. Our priority was to ensure that our players played. The introduction of a two tiered finals system was met with some trepidation at first, however in time it was embraced by all. Our approach provided a unique opportunity for many players to get a taste of finals action which can only be a good thing.
Interleague is an important part of our season. Michael Scott, Travis Selby and Kate Upton are outstanding coaches and their commitment is evidence of their belief in the concept and their belief in our League. Congratulations to all coaches and their support teams that make interleague a most enjoyable experience for all.
Valley Vision has been a significant benefit to our League, and to that end, season 2013 has seen the program expanded to include U18 games. We continue to leverage technology opportunities that can improve the service we provide to our clubs, coaches, players and supporters. Jason Sach is to be congratulated for his outstanding work in this area.
Tribunals play an important role and our members Greg Black, Gary Tippett, Matthew Tippett, Craig West, Fury Di Pietro, Harold Bromley and Keith Thompson are valuable members of our sporting community and I would like to personally thank them for their dedication and commitment throughout the season.
Our broadcast team of Leo Groenewegen and Tony Foo have been unswerving in their commitment to deliver great value every Saturday (and every Saturday & Sunday during finals). Leo has delivered extraordinary value in this area and his passion has never once waned. Leo does deliver above and beyond and is a most valuable member of our great footy netball league.
To our Directors, Mick Hill, Mike Fleming, Mark Mays, Bill Heppell, Jodi Chandler, Bill kuys and VP Mark Sandilands – you are stand out community supporters and I thank you for your support and commitment.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Shane Mason for his work over the last two years. His support team of John Edwards, Steve Edwards, Brad Scicluna and Bob Allen have performed with distinction this season. I need to make special note of John Edwards who tirelessly delivers unbelievable value to the umpiring group and our League... well done John on yet another outstanding contribution.
To Leo Groenewegen our esteemed President, your unswerving commitment once again to our league is testament to your character and loyalty. It is a privilege to work with you. A special thank you to Marilyn Groenewegen who has warmly welcomed us into her home every Monday night for the footy show.
A special thank you to Judy Orren for her commitment and hard work in what has been a challenging season. To our new employees Gayle Seeger and Kate Upton, your contribution will only grow as we fully deploy your services next season. Thank you both for your efforts in season 2013. A special thank you to Rick Wall who always helps out his local community, he is second to none as our MC for medal night and we hope he continues that role for many years to come.
Lastly, I would also like to especially thank my family; Jo-Anne, Aaron, Rebecca, Melanie & Blake who have always supported me without hesitation... without their support this job would not have been possible. Thank you.

Finance Report
All in all a strong financial performance for the 2013 season. Our operating surplus of $64.1k is a 4.6% per cent improvement over 2012. This is a particularly pleasing performance in light of the traineeship program having to be postponed for 2013. Improved finals revenue was the catalyst for our financial improvement in combination with cost cutting in some areas. The weather for all finals games was simply perfect and the evenness of our division one competition ensured interest and attendances were high. Grand final prices increased to $15 which did assist in our grand final gate takings achieving record results (please refer to attached finals year on year comparisons). This however was coupled with U18 admission prices reducing from $12 to $6 for U18s with the likelihood that all U18s will be admitted free of charge for 2014. The League purchased a new car during the 2013 season for cash which has resulted in slightly higher depreciation charges. We have also had to provide for long service leave, an accounting requirement for staff that have been with the organisation for a minimum of 6 years. 2013 Valley Vision costs have increased over the 2012 season, primarily due to the introduction of videoing all U18 games, half of which is subsidised by the League.
I am pleased to advise that the Board has announced a rebate of $25,000 to clubs that have achieved the 2013 sales threshold for discretionary sales items. Please note that due to breaches of one club with respect to finals hosting conditions and the failure of another club to furnish their annual reports in proper fashion, the Board have disqualified those clubs from participating in rebates for the 2013 season. Rebates will be credited to clubs in time for the start of the 2014 season. Club’s accounts have also received a 50% reimbursement for finals admission fees (less footy record cost) paid by their participating players. Reimbursements were credited to club accounts in October 2013. 2013 Finals reimbursements appear in this year’s financial accounts. Our League is in a strong financial position and has a most healthy balance sheet. In part, the League is preparing to establish a new base and is awaiting the right opportunity.

YARRA VALLEY MOUNTAIN DISTRICT FOOTBALL & NETBALL LEAGUE INCORPORATED
INDEPENDENT AUDIT REPORT
To The Members of Yarra Valley Mountain District Football & Netball League Incorporated
We have audited the accompanying financial report, being a special purpose financial report, of Yarra Valley Mountain District Football & Netball League Incorporated, which comprises the statement of financial position as at 31st October 2013, the statement of comprehensive income, statement of changes in equity and statement of cash flows for the year then ended, notes comprising a summary of significant accounting policies and other explanatory information, and the statement by members of the board.
Board Members Responsibility for the Financial Report
The members of the board of Yarra Valley Mountain District Football & Netball League Incorporated are responsible for the preparation of the financial report, and has determined that the basis of preparation described in Note 1, is appropriate to meet the requirements of the Associations Incorporation Act [Victoria] and is appropriate to meet the needs of the members. The board members responsibility also includes such internal control as the committee determines is necessary to enable the preparation of a financial report that is free from material misstatement, whether due to fraud or error.
Auditor’s Responsibility
Our responsibility is to express an opinion on the financial report based on our audit. We have conducted our audit in accordance with Australian Auditing Standards. Those standards require that we comply with relevant ethical requirements relating to audit engagements and plan and perform the audit to obtain reasonable assurance whether the financial report is free from material misstatement.
An audit involves performing procedures to obtain audit evidence about the amounts and disclosures in the financial report. The procedures selected depend on the auditor’s judgement, including the assessment of the risks of material misstatement of the financial report, whether due to fraud or error. In making those risk assessments, the auditor considers internal control relevant to the association’s preparation of the financial report that gives a true and fair view, in order to design audit procedures that are appropriate in the circumstances, but not for the purpose of expressing an opinion on the effectiveness of the association’s internal control. An audit also includes evaluating the appropriateness of accounting policies used and the reasonableness of accounting estimates made by the officers, as well as evaluating the overall presentation of the financial report. We believe that the audit evidence we have obtained is sufficient and appropriate to provide a basis for our audit opinion.
Qualification
Cash transactions form a large part of finals income which are a source of revenue for the Yarra Valley Mountain District Football & Netball League Incorporated. The Yarra Valley Mountain District Football & Netball League Incorporated has determined that it is impracticable to establish complete control over the collection of cash transactions prior to entry into its financial records. Accordingly, as the evidence available to us regarding revenue from this source was limited, our audit procedures with respect to finals income had to be restricted to the amounts recorded in the financial records. We therefore are unable to express an opinion whether the finals income the Yarra Valley Mountain District Football & Netball League Incorporated obtained are complete.
Qualified Audit Opinion
In our opinion, except for the effects on the financial report of such adjustments, if any, as might have been required had the limitation on our audit procedures referred to in the qualification paragraph not existed, the financial report presents fairly, in all material respects, the financial position of Yarra Valley Mountain District Football & Netball League Incorporated as at 31st October 2012, and its financial performance and its cash flows for the year then ended in accordance with the Associations Incorporation Act [Victoria].
Basis of Accounting and Restriction on Distribution
Without modifying our opinion, we draw attention to Note 1 to the financial report, which describes the basis of accounting. The financial report has been prepared to assist Yarra Valley Mountain District Football & Netball League Incorporated to meet the requirements of the Associations Incorporation Act [Victoria]. As a result, the financial report may not be suitable for another purpose.

Independent Tribunal Report
All in all, a similar season to 2012. Approximately one report per 18 games and 1 yellow card on average every 3 games. Perhaps some discipline areas to be looked at with some clubs, however, player behaviour must always be a focus and the League will always look for improvements in both the amount of players yellow carded and reported.
A brief summary of reports include: · 16 for “Striking” · 4 for “Engaging in rough conduct” · 5 for “Using abusive, insulting or threatening language” · 1 for “Tripping another person” · 1 for “Any act of misconduct”
With over 500 games played, we average approximately one report for every 18 games.
The YVMDFNL would like to thank & acknowledge the efforts of Mr Greg Black, Mr Gary Tippett & Mr Matthew Tippett and Craig West in their roles as Chairman of the tribunal and also thank the efforts of tribunal members, Fury Di Pietro, Harold Bromley and Keith Thompson.

Interleague Report - Football
The U18’s travelled down to Moe with high expectations and plenty of enthusiasm on Saturday. We arrived to find a great ground that we thought would suit our fast running side. Despite a bit of wind, the conditions were great for football!
The boys hit the ground running in the 1st quarter, and were attacking the contest and moving the ball extremely well despite the windy conditions. Beau Mitchener was winning the ruck, and with Locky Scattergood and Kane Thompson dominating the wings, things were looking good. Some inaccurate kicking was the only thing letting us down. Quarter time: YVMDFL 1 goal 8 to Gippsland 1 goal 2.
The 2nd Quarter was similar to the 1st with both sides missing chances. With our back 6 holding the fort lead by Campbell Smedley, Will Mutschler and our captain Joel Coombs, our on-ballers Hayden Smith, Gareth Fraser and Daimon Kift were creating plenty of headaches for Gippsland. The boys were holding their own, but again unable to apply the scoreboard pressure. At halftime, we held a slender 8 point lead.
After the break, our focus was on maintaining our pressure around the contest, and not to allow Gippsland time and space. Again, we created some early chances and looked like opening the game right up, but to Gippsland’s credit they hung in and started to take their chances. At the 3 quarter time break Gippsland went in with a slender lead.
The message at 3 quarter time was to have no regrets. Run, create, and take the game on! To the boys credit they fought it out till the very end, but we just couldn’t get our noses back in front. At the end of the day going down by 15 points.
I would like to thank all the boys for their efforts - you were fantastic!!

Interleague Report - Football
It was an exciting prospect travelling to Moe to take on the Gippsland League to really cement a spot in the top 10 leagues in the state. With 3 – 4 months of planning around the squad, the last 2 weeks was a roller coaster ride with injuries and players pulling out which did cause some concern around the make up of the forward half in particular. We were still pretty happy with our list, a great mix of experience as well as youth, our belief was that with the amount of talent at our disposal, we would be very competitive.
The game started OK for us, Owen Millwood set the tone with some good ruck work but also some valuable contested footy on the deck, Justin Myers also looked hungry for the footy and only 2 minutes into the game, it looked as if we were making a statement.
Gippsland then got there hands on the footy and displayed near perfect hand and foot skills. They were a physically imposing group of mature footballers and they started to show why some of there players are so highly rated in country football.
We had some good forward entries that we couldn’t capitalize on, Gippsland cut the footy off and then took it out straight through the middle. They carried the ball well and were starting to put our back 6 under extreme pressure. Nathan Leversha, Mitch Bonuda and Cam Carmody all battled on their talls with great energy. The mids were caught out of position leaving avenues for their onballers to run in free.
Coming out of defence for us was becoming a problem as Gippsland set up a press and with Brendon Sneddon leaving the field early in the first, we lost that target to hit up.
Steven Gough did move up the ground and gave us that target, but at 6”2” he was swamped by 2 opponents at most contests. A few goals down at quarter time with Yarra Valley not hitting our straps.
The second quarter was much better, the first 15 minutes was a different side, we were really working hard to get back in the game, a goal to Michael Paolini which he worked really hard for was a good result, 2 minutes later, Jason Coghlan kicked what looked like a clear goal that was given a point, the end result of this was a kickout that went coast to coast for Gippsland followed by a centre clearance for another goal leaving us 6 goals down in a 30 second period.
The 3rd quarter belonged to Gippsland, our pressure from the first quarter was dropping, Liam Barnard and Russell Cowan were really trying to get things on our terms and both had the courage to take the game on. Shane Williams was also getting his hands on the footy but the Gippsland defence was strong and confident and rebounded relentlessly. They were getting inside 50’s at will, Cam Carmody and Matty Wright were giving it everything, Carmody had kept the full forward to 1 goal at this stage and was an inspiration. Bayliss was getting busy on the wing and Mende on the back flank was very impressive. A 6 goal to 2 3rd quarter left us out of the game with only some respect to be saved.

The last quarter was also a blowout, hard when there isn’t 4 points or percentage up for grabs. The contest went out of the game and a final flurry of 5 goals near the end of the quarter just wasn’t what we wanted to see from the bench, the boys had battled hard and were simply outclassed on the day by an impressive team.
Final scores: Gippsland – 18.15.123 defeated YVMDFNL – 5.9.39
Best players: Russell Cowan, Liam Barnard, Nathan Leversha, Jarrod Bayliss, Cameron Carmody.
A big thanks to all the players, I know it wasn’t the desired result but credit to these guys for giving up their time to represent our league, also, to the Yarra Valley, thanks so much for the opportunity to put together the squad and coach this wonderful group of young men, your support was fantastic and I look forward to seeing these players reap the rewards of this experience and hope they can apply what they have learnt to their local clubs.

Interleague Report - Netball
Going in Blind folded as to who the opposition is and how they play is always a difficult task, you’re never quite sure if your game plan will be the right approach.
The first quarter for us was about controlling the pace of the game, not getting caught up in their game. It took a good 8 minutes to sort ourselves out then the control came. With goalers Rachael and Maddie Hickey converting, we finished that quarter up by 2.
The second quarter saw no changes to the line up. The girls continued to work hard in their defensive game and it paid off with our centre court of Krista Tomlinson and Ella Priestley picking up 6 important turnovers for us to continue with a slightly bigger lead of 5 at half time.
Third quarter was time to go back over the game plan and deliver, bringing on Jackie Cullimore and Ruby Tidd during injury time, made Gippsland alter their game slightly. Krista Tomlinson and Melanie Walter really stepped up their defensive pressure in Gippsland’s attacking third, making them accountable for every pass into their goalers, which then allowed Natalie Montanari, Gretta Hankinson and Ruby Tidd to get into a position to attack the ball. We finished the third 27 to 20 our way.
The last quarter was now about finishing with a really high work rate, making the right choices under fatigue and continuing to put them under pressure every time they had the ball. Our attack end had more depth in their moves, creating more space and allowing good flow into our goalers. The work rate showed on the scoreboard with a great last quarter and seeing Chelsea Connell and Jacqui Graham

take the court, having a positive impact . A great result finishing the game with a 13 goal win. Yarra Valley 38 to Gippsland 25.
What a fantastic effort from all the girls involved, I’d like to thank them and all the clubs that supported interleague this year, it really is a wonderful experience and opportunity to show the VCFNL how netball has grown in our league.

Umpires Report
Season 2013 once again presented interesting challenges for umpiring in the Yarra Valley.
We lost a number of experienced field umpires before the season but as is the case, it created opportunities for others and we had good numbers of new Boundary umpires, which was evident in the number of green shirts umpires that were running around on Saturdays.
Our ambition always is to have enough umpires on our panel so as to not put pressure on the Clubs by asking them to provide their own field umpires in Reserves games. We had a number of challenging weeks where we had to ask a number of umpires to officiate in 2 games on a Saturday to achieve this goal.
Congratulations to all umpires who umpired Grand Finals. Their appointments were earned and their performances in the games justified their selection. Thanks also to the remainder of the panel who may not have achieved a grand final but proved their loyalty to our League.
This year we groomed a few young field umpires, with our links with the Yarra Ranges and our older brigade are very consistent and they display great loyalty to the YVMDFL.
The boundary umpires go to the other extreme and are in the main a young group. The difficulty is to get them to train as a group on a regular basis. Once again we had four boundary umpires used in both senior Grand Finals and this proved to be successful to the image of the games.
Our goal umpires are a very reliable group and it is looking good for the future to see such young talent coming through the ranks.
Recruitment of course is always an issue and in the future there needs to be more support shown to provide a career path for young umpires coming through the juniors. To make it to senior football and beyond, the young umpires need to be encouraged to umpire on Saturdays in senior football. Umpiring is no different to football clubs, to remain a healthy, successful club in the long term you must have the emphasis on developing and nurturing your juniors. This year with the new Umpiring coaches in place in the Yarra Ranges Junior League, we certainly initiated steps in place for the future direction of a strong association with the Junior competition.
Clubs can also help in recruitment of umpires as there surely must be some players who have retired and would be able to take up the whistle.
This year we have recommended 2 of our field umpires, Alan Seymour and Jason Newman, to the VFL for trial over the pre season and I would expect we will have some young Boundary & Goal umpires to take that step after season 2014. The VCFL have invited a number of our field, boundary and goal umpires to be part of the V/Line Umpiring Academy for 2014.
Congratulations to the recipients of the special umpiring awards in 2013. Trevor McGary was the Umpire of the Year and was awarded the John Edwards medal struck by the League. Trevor
had a fantastic year umpiring in the Division 1 Grand Final, he is very well respected by all and a true credit to himself.
The best field umpire was Trevor McGary, Lucas Taylor was the best boundary umpire and Brenton Damrow won the best goal umpire trophy. The Golden Whistle trophy went to a young Boundary umpire, James Nolan, and the best Finals umpire was won by a consistent and respected field umpire, Leigh Walters.
Many thanks to members of the Umpires Board for their efforts throughout the season namely Stephen Edwards as the Fitness and Field Umpires coach, Brad Scicluna as the Boundary Coach and Bob Allen as the Goal Coach. But, there is no doubt that most important person in the umpiring fraternity is John Edwards in his role as Assistant Director, without his commitment and hard work during the season, we would not be able to operate. We are all extremely grateful for the job that you continue to do.
Well done also to the Umpires Association under the Presidency of Les King. Les and his Executive have continued on from last year to get their Association back on a firm footing which augurs well for the future of umpiring in the YVMDFL.
In closing, I would like to sincerely thank the League President, Leo Groenewegen, and the League Chief Executive Officer, Steve Walter, for their total support to umpiring. Thanks also to Judy in the League office and other YVMDFL Directors for their support during the year.
