The festival crowd in Norway is the most beautiful one in the whole world, hopefully you'll feel the love and energy on stage, coming from your devoted audience. In your hands is your very own PERSONAL guide, filled with information and tips coming directly from your biggest Norwegian fans. Enjoy your stay, and have a great show. I know I will! Love, Tord from Øyafestivalen

Tip no.1 Hello Young Thug, Fretex Grünerløkka is a second hand shop with hand picked clothing and accessories, ranging from H&M to Gucci. The selection is a mix between vintage and new design with a focus on trends but also quality. Fretex is a part of the Salvation Army and the money we earn goes to their social work. They are located by Olaf Ryes plass, at Grünerløkka. You should check them out!

Tip no.2 Yes hello Mr. Thug (or Jeffery if you prefer that) As a revolutionary artist and connoisseur of the fine things in life, I believe that you deserve a look at the rawest experience Oslo has to offer. My tip is the so-called “Storgata Triangle”, which consists of the following procedure: buy takeout at McDonald’s, proceed to the nearby passage and eat it by the foot of the incredible Kate Moss statue, then chill out with a cold beer or two at the bar Den Glade Munk further down the street. I would also recommend the Astrup Fearnley art museum and the karaoke bar Bør & Børsen, both easy to reach via uber, public transit or just on foot. Cheers, and hope to see you there!

Tip no.3 Villa Paradiso is the perfect place for real Italian cuisine with a great atmosphere and with an urban feel. I can guarantee a great and unforgettable experience in the heart of Oslo. I chose this place because of the great service that was provided to me and the delicious food. Â Â Felix Kristoffersen

Tip no.4 Groruddalen is the working class area of Oslo and is often looked down upon because it has a bad rep among some because of crime that really isn’t that high, the diversity and is often talked about as a ghetto. But Groruddalen is so much more than that and I am glad I grew up there. One of the best things about Groruddalen is the diversity and people living together and showing each other love and respect without thinking about colour, religion etc. In Groruddalen among all of the blocks you also have alot beautiful nature you could see in a big area called Østmarka where you could come for some peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings. My biggest recommandation right now to do in Groruddalen is to visit Jonathan Castro and his hiphop 101 project in a placed called Stovner. He started hiphop 101 as an offer for the kids and youth of Groruddalen where they can come to learn how to write raps, record songs and hang out instead of hanging out in the streets doing no good.

Tip no.5 My tip for a fun, creative & painful evening out is Tiger City custom Tattoo, situated behind Rockefeller Music hall in Bernt Ankers gate no.10. The studio is run by French man Sacha Lehne a master of old School art, who’s been tattooing for 25 years. Marcel Leliënhof

Tip no.6 To get Oslo’s best pizza you have to visit Postkontoret (meaning the post office) at Tøyen. They have many wierd combinations, but also the old classics. Kverneriet also has the best burgers. The one called “Umami” is unbelievable, totally worth tasting! Margrethe Hegnar

Tip no.7 You should try the fried chicken bao at Kamai Sushi & Bao at Grünerløkka. They are so delicious you’ll never eat at KFC again! After you’re finished, go next door and visit Kamai’s Minibar for cocktails. Marianne Skøien

Tip no.8 I could go on and on about food, but these are some of my tips: For tacos & burritos try Freddy Fuego or the taco truck 4 gringos. Lots of taste and loads of comfort! For the best Bahn Mi in Oslo, check out D-San Asian Street Food in Torggata. The first time I tried the Vietnamese baguette (Lemongrass Beef) I had to close my eyes like everyone does in commercials when they’re eating yogurts. Rumour has it that the dumplings at Dim Sum By Taste Of China are awesome! When it comes to Italian pizza, Oslo has many! Lofthus Samvirkelag has a few all around Oslo. I just heard about a new pizza place that opened at Grønland Torg called “Den Glade Italiener”, and am dying to try it out. Torggata is actually a really good food-street in general, it even has you’re candy covered: Yummy Heaven. Food-love, Namra

Tip no.9 Young Thug Young Thug! Welcome to my hometown – Oslo! I hear that you love KFC. We don’t have that in Norway yet. But I think it’s funnier if you try out something else while you’re here. Right now, it pops up many burger restaurants around in Oslo. I have tried out most of them. My opinion of which is the best one? Wünderburger in Torggata! There is always a space to sit down at. You get the food much faster than in a lot of other burger restaurants, and it’s also cheaper. The staff is always nice, and the burgers and fries are yummy … Torggata where Wünderburger lies is also one of the hipster places we have in Oslo. Different fancy stores and bars. I really hope you will enjoy your trip here and Øyafestivalen. I also hope to see your concert there! Love from Regine Folkman Rossnes

Tip no.10 The 10 meter at Frognerbadet is not for the fainted hearted. But it is something everybody has to face at least once growing up in this city. If a straight jump is not enough, you can challenge yourself into taking a “døds”. This is the form of diving the local dare devils do. Short summary of the jump is: #1 Full running speed from all the way back at the diving platform! #2 Leaving the platform, create an illusion of slow motion as you race towards the water, belly first! #3 Stretch out arms and legs as much as you can … #4 Just before you hit the water crouch together like a bal … and protect vital organs! #5 Rise from the water like a king … and receive the applause! … a real “døds” can only be done from 10m.

Tip no.11 Every city has a particular piece of architecture og construction that begs the most physically daring people to jump it, climb it, or walk over it. “Spikersuppa” square is located at the very heart the city center, bordering on Main Street Karl Johan and the Norwegian Parliament Building. At the end of the water fountain pool there is a gap that at first hand seems totally impossible to jump across. But it’s all about the run up: If you start hauling ass from Karl Johan it is possible to fly over the gap like an Usain Bolt with wings. If you succeed you will feel a distinct kind of empowerment and also become member of a very exclusive club of people who have jumped the Oslo Gap.

Tip no.12 You guys should definitely visit Syverkiosken and try their specialty “Shotgun” (double wiener in potato-pancake). The owner is the happiest sausageseller around! He inherited the kiosk from his dad who opened in 1979. And they’re still going strong! Thomas Johannessen Leer

Tip no.13 Hands down, Nr.19 is the best place in Oslo if you’re looking for a cocktail. They put great pride in their drinks, and they’re kind of hidden away from the busiest streets in Oslo. Perfect to get away from it all, and just enjoy yourself. I recommend the margarita.
