A Message from the CEO, Larry Fladager The Christmas Season is upon us and another year is drawing to a close. The Chamber has enjoyed connecting with members over the past year and working together on initiatives to encourage growth and opportunity in Prince Albert. We know 2016 has been a tough year for business in Prince Albert. The economy has slowed, costs and taxes are going up and it is tougher to keep the doors open. The Chamber continues to press Prince Albert City Council for answers regarding the Destination Marketing Levy and action on the large gap between business and residential taxes. We’ve also heard from members who continue to look for ways to attract good employees and combat staff turnover, while also seeking better ways to promote their business on social media. The Chamber continues to promote opportunities for networking and engagement through our many business luncheons and events, and we want to thank you once again for your support over the past year. In 2016, the Chamber hosted a variety of events including, luncheons, election forums, a social media workshop for business and our first-ever Non-Profit Leadership Forum to work with our non-profit organizations on marketing, organizing their boards and taking advantage of their membership benefits. The idea for the Non-Profit Leadership event came out of discussions with some of our Chamber members who were looking for ways to connect with representatives from charities and non-profits on fundraisers, and a great example of how networking through the Chamber can benefit your business.

2017 will mark the Chamber’s 130th anniversary as an organization. We’re planning for another busy year of events and networking with members and we look forward to continuing a dialogue about business priorities in our city. We’re looking forward to celebrating this milestone with our valued members.
