OVER VIEW – MARCH 2018 In the month, as many as 15 terrorist attacks took place in Pakistan, which claimed the lives of 49 people, and wounded 66 others. These attacks also included One (01) suicide blasts, which took place in Raiwind, Lahore. Those killed in terrorist attacks in March included 13 civilians, 11 LEA personals, and 25terrorist. Highest number of terrorist attacks and consequent casualties for any one region of Pakistan was reported from Balochistan.

According to initial reports, the SUV of Rubina Saadat Qaimkhani’s teenage son was headed speedily on Sea View Road when it overturned upon collision near Village Restaurant. The Supreme Court (SC) on Monday decided to indict Pakistan Muslim LeagueNawaz (PML-N) leader Nehal Hashmi for his most recent inflammatory speech that he made after completing his one-month sentence for contempt of court on March 26. After his release from the Adiala Jail, Hashmi had declared himself “a victim of revenge” while complaining that his appeal against the verdict in the contempt of court case was not heard even after his sentence had ended. “This is the height of oppression,” he had said. “Who are you holding accountable? And who are you anyway? I stand by what I said [earlier],” he had said.

A blast in a house in Balochistan’s Qilla Saifullah district killed at least four persons and left as many as seven injured including women and children here on Thursday, the deputy commissioner confirmed. The Sindh government on Wednesday introduced a complete ban on the manufacture, sale and purchase of non-biodegradable polythene bags (plastic bags) across the province, according to reports in the local media. Under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code, the ban was imposed by the Sindh home department with immediate effect and until further orders. The body of a university student, who had gone missing five days ago, was found on Wednesday, reported a private media outlet. Initial post-mortem of the woman, who was a student of MA English, has revealed evidence indicating she had been subjected to rape before being killed. At least 17 people have been killed and another 36 wounded after a bus carrying illegal immigrants hit a lighting pole in eastern Turkey and burst into flames, local media reported on Friday. The bus, which crashed late Thursday on the Igdir-Kars highway, was carrying nationals from Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan, the state-run Anadolu news agency reported.
A man took his life after killing five members of his own family Gujrat, district of Punjab. Police officials told media that the man, identified as Mubashir Butt, in Bhadar village located in the vicinity of Gujrat committed suicide after killing his daughter, niece, two nephews and sister-in-law after a family dispute.
Two youngsters died in separate incidents of firing and road mishap in Lahore. Police said that armed men gunned down 22-year-old Sheraz in the Mughalpura area of the city. The bullet-riddled body was later recovered from the house of the slain youth’s neighbour. Meanwhile, another youngster died when his over speeding motorcycle slipped in the Mughalpura underpass.
An earthquake jolted the Harnai district of Balochistan on Saturday but no causalities or property damages were reported. However, locals were seen vacating their homes in panic. According to the geological wing of PMD (Pakistan Meteorological Department), tremors measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale were also felt in surrounding areas including Ziarat and Loralai. The epicentre of the quake was stated to be 30 km east of Harnai, 25 kilometres beneath the earth’s crust.
A 13-year-old boy was allegedly raped before being thrown in an unconscious condition outside his residence in Sehwan, the local police confirmed on Saturday. According to details, the minor boy was kidnapped on Wednesday and remained missing for a complete day. He was allegedly raped by two men before they threw him in an unconscious condition outside the residence during Thursday evening.
The primary suspect in the 2010 Tipu Truckanwala murder case, Shahbaz Saeen, was arrested late Saturday night by Interpol. Arif Ameer alias Tipu Truckanwala, a businessman and alleged gangster, was shot dead in the parking area of Allama Iqbal International Airport in January 2010 after he arrived in Lahore from Dubai. Saeen, a resident of Lahore’s Gawalmandi area, had been a fugitive since 2010 when the murder took place, officials said.
A security personnel embraced martyrdom during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Mastung district of Balochistan, the Pakistan Army’s media cell said on Saturday. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said while one soldier was martyred in the exchange of fire, the security forces killed an alleged militant in retaliation.
