DUNBAR LIFE: Ask An Expert Should I get eyelash extensions before a vacation? Eyelash extensions provide long, perfectly curled lashes that do not require any mascara or curling. These eyelash extensions are perfect for everyday wear and special occasions. How soon should I get them before I leave? We suggest two days before your vacation. The curing time for the bonding agent is only 4 hours now. Don’t get them wet or heated up before they are cured. An initial eyelash appointment will last 90 to 120 minutes for a full set as each and every lash needs to be isolated from the others. Do not wear makeup to the appointment. Once on vacation, wear sunglasses and a hat to keep the eye area shaded. Don’t rub your eyes or use harsh makeup removals. Avoid wearing oil-based eyeshadow and waterproof mascara. Swimming in salt water too long will weaken the glue. The good news is that you won’t be worrying about applying eye makeup and your eyelashes will look gorgeous without effort.
