Newcomer Loretta, lands 2023 Warren’s Young Woman Crown Contributed A SPLENDID High Tea before a gentle interview from three judges; was enough for new local girl, Loretta Tonscheck to win the 2023 Warren Pastoral and Agricultural Association, Young Woman of the Year award! Judging took place at the home of Sophie and Angus O’Brien at “Hatton” last Sunday with entrants and their supporters, Warren P&A Association committee members, judges, and former showgirls, all in attendance. Entrants Zoie Rookledge, Shaunna Stumer, and Loretta, all enjoyed the high tea with the guests before their 15-minute interview with a panel of three judges. The competition aims to fi nd a confident, articulate, young woman who is passionate about rural living, and who can be an ambassador for Warren, the district and, ultimately, rural NSW. Ms Turnbull said that the event is a wonderful experience. “I really encourage any young ladies to have a go. Just entering the competition gives you so much confidence and you never know where it will lead,” Ms Turnbull said. The judges on Sunday all had a lot of experience in the Show circuit and comprised Josie Anderson from Dubbo, a former state finalist; and Pip and Simon Archer from Mendooran, who have been involved in the Mendooran Show for close to 20 years. “Warren P&A Association is immensely proud to have such a quality candidate as our 2023 Young Woman,” President, Justin Sanderson, said after the announcement.
