Money Smart Week Kid Essay Contest Finalists Earlier this year, McLean County 6-8th graders were encouraged to write a 500 word essay on the following: What is the biggest obstacle to saving your money? What technological and/or banking solutions might help you and your friends begin to save?
Camron Hinman Camron is an 8th grader at Chiddix Jr. High School. He enjoys baseball, soccer, track and cross country. Camron is also involved with the student council, as well as jazz and concert bands. His dream job is to become a professional soccer player.
Jack Kolb Jack is a 7th grader at Evans Jr. High School. Math and science are his favorite subjects; he enjoys the challenge of solving difficult problems. Outside of the classroom, Jack enjoys playing hockey, soccer and violin. He aspires to be a doctor.

Asia Quizon-Colquitt Asia is a 7th grader at Parkside Jr. High School. She enjoys social studies and learning about cultures around the world. Asia plays cello, trombone and runs cross country. Asia’s dream job is to become a zoologist.
R. West Reardon West is in 7th grade at Bloomington Jr. High School. His favorite subjects are English and geography. West likes to play hockey, lacrosse and read. He plans to study law and become an attorney.
Salman (Sunny) Shaheen Sunny is a 7th grader at Chiddix Jr. High School and is our 2015 Money Smart Kid. His favorite subject is social studies because they discuss cultures around the word and the impact they have on one another. Sunny enjoys playing soccer and reading historical fiction. He aspires to be an architect.

Happy Money Smart Week! If I told you Money Smart Week distributed cold, hard cash would you attend a class? If it sounds too good to be true it probably is, right? Well what if I told you Money Smart Week will help you save, spend and invest wisely which eventually turns into more cold hard cash for you? You should dream big when it comes to your money, and we have classes to help you achieve those dreams. Money Smart Week, April 18-25, is a national public awareness campaign coordinated by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago to help individuals and families better manage their personal finances. More than 3500 free Money Smart Week events will be hosted throughout the country on topics ranging from saving for college and managing student loan debt to budgeting and retirement. Bloomington-Normal hosts more than 100 free classes on different dates and at times and locations to fit into your busy schedule. Want tips to balance your budget, eliminate debt and invest wisely? We have these topics covered, as well as special interests: how to save money on
everyday shopping, home/garden and transportation. Kids can join the fun at Money Smart Kids Read.
