ABOUT PANTS THEATRE PRODUCTION 成立於1995年12月，2012年重組，邁向成為全職劇團，更於2015年躍升為 藝發局兩年資助藝團。一條褲製作秉承多年來開拓的成績與方向，本著「立 足舞台，放眼社會」的精神，全面投入本地劇壇，推出更多內容與形式同樣 鮮活而有意義的作品，期盼以戲劇回應、回饋、改變社會。劇團現正朝著三 個主要方向發展：演出、應用戲劇及研究與保存，以所知所長，令本地劇壇 更百花齊放。 劇團近年致力發展「紀錄劇場」（Documentary Theatre）及「人種誌戲劇」 （Ethnotheatre），更大膽嘗試將此創作方式應用至本地議題上，成為本地 劇壇先鋒，創作出《1967》、《本來沒有菜園村》等受歡迎劇目，進一步令 戲劇藝術與社會產生更緊密的關係。2017年更舉辦亞洲首個「戲劇與社會： 紀錄劇場節」，務求令更多人了解並接觸到「紀錄劇場」。

Pants Theatre Production was established in December 1995 and since 2015, has been receiving two-year grant from HKADC. With years of development, Pants Theatre Production has gained a foothold in Hong Kong theatre. Pants Theatre Production acts as the catalyst to produce works that reflect and respond to Hong Kong society. We believe that theatre can be the witness of our times, as well as advocating changes for a better world.

故事大綱 SYNOPSIS 在彌留之際，你會想起什麼？年紀 老邁的英國人Martin，在病榻下 與死神掙扎，為的只希望能吃到 一 個 叉 燒 包，食 物 的 味 道 竟 把 Martin帶回美好的1950年代。 他當時隨同父母遠渡重洋，由英國 來到陌生的香港。Martin回憶起 那 四 年 如 歷 險 般 的 生 活，父 母 之間無日無之的爭執，只有七歲 的他都看在眼內……

At the very moment you are dying, what would you think of? The old Englishman Martin, who was struggling in bed, wanted to taste the Chinese bun for the last time. The taste of the bun brought back his memories during the 1950s when he travelled across the ocean from England to exotic Hong Kong with his parents. Martin recalled his adventurous life here, which was also, shadowed by the endless argument of his warring parents. The seven-year-old boy saw everything clearly…

生活艱苦，小孩經常聯群結黨在街上為人擦鞋， 比較集中在中區萬宜里及銀行區。 Children from poor families would black shoes for bankers to earn extra income; most of these children gangs gathered in bank district and Man Yee Lane in Central.

舊香港會會所大廈 The Old Hong Kong Club Building 在殖民地時代，是英國人娛樂及社交的地方， 早期曾不准華人進入。第二代香港會所大廈是 當時香港最後幾座文藝復興風格建築物之一， 已於1984年拆卸重建。 The Hong Kong Club is the first Gentlemen's Club in Hong Kong, membership was restricted to British white male, Chinese were banned.

The 2nd Hong Kong Club Building was famous for being one of the last Renaissance style buildings left in Hong Kong. It was rebuilt in 1984.

纜車 Peak Tram 最先的纜車是採用塗上油漆的木材製造，可容納 30位乘客。早期纜車上首排的兩個座位是預留給 當時的港督乘坐，直到開車前2分鐘，這排座位絕 不能佔用，以備香港總督大人突然到臨。 The original carriages were made of varnished timber and seated 30 passengers. The first two seats could not be occupied until two minutes before departure time in the event the Governor might appear unannounced.

媽姐 Amah 50 年代，不少女性到富人家中擔 任 「媽姐」，即是華藉女傭，當中 又以順德女傭最著名。 Many Chinese women worked as amahs for wealthy families during the 1950s. It is a domestic ser vant role that combines functions of maid and nanny. A mahs from Shun Tak were very popular.

黎逸晞畢業於香港演藝學院及德國 德累斯頓音樂學院，分別師從何紅英 女士及前Artemis四重奏第一小提琴 Natalia Prishepenko。

現為自由身舞台工作者、攝影師及化 妝師。 曾 參 演 多 個 專 業 舞 台 演 出，包 括 S k y T h e atr e Cr e ativ e《以斯帖 記 》主 演，亦 曾 於 多 個 專 業 製 作 中 擔任不同崗位：W創作社《小人國5》 舞 台 助 理、焦 媛 實 驗 劇 團《 女 上 男下 》（重演）助理 舞台監 督、香 港 歌劇院《tosca》化妝助理等。

黎氏活躍於室樂表演，在學其間成立 Zephyrus弦樂四重奏，並獲飛躍演奏 香港邀請，成為該音樂節的演奏嘉賓。 此外，更於演藝新世代藝術家音樂會及 其他重奏音樂會中表演，大獲好評。 黎氏於2012年被荷蘭青年管樂團音樂節 選為樂團助理首席，並隨團到多個地方 演出，屢獲好評。

張雪婷

出生於法國東部城市里昂，1983年前往巴黎研習陶瓷應用 藝術，邂逅了一個來自香港的年輕人，也就是她的未來 丈夫。1986年她首次踏足香港，一直定居於此。

會說粵語的她，漸漸走進本地社群，融入這座充滿活力的 國際大都會。她曾在私營企業和法國國際學校工作了二十 年，2006年開始參加不同機構的義務工作。

Street fortune-tellers were very popular in the 1950s, they could be found even in Wan Chai and North Point. Nowadays, only a few street fortune-teller stations are left in Yau Ma Tei.

The whole terminus was opened on 28 March 1916, which was built in the Edwardian Classical Revival style. It was demolished in 1978; only the clock tower was left.

虎豹別墅設計具濃厚中國色彩，相鄰的萬金油 花 園 於 50年 代 開 放 予 公 眾 參 觀 。 業 主 1964年 起 分別出售花園地段，現只剩虎豹別墅主樓， 已列為一級歷史建築。

The population increased after WW2; the low-income group had no choice but to live in wooden houses. In January 1953, a fire burnt down 1,500 houses in Ho Man Tin; in December of the same year, a fire destroyed 7,000 houses in Shek Kip Mei, 60,000 people became homeless.

It was the international airport of Hong Kong from 1925 until 1998. Due to its unique geographical location, it was ranked as the top 10 most dangerous airports in the world.

From the exclave of the Qing Dynasty to the hotbed of triad groups, Kowloon Walled City as the haven for criminals was demolished in 1993 and turned into Kowloon Walled City Park.

Tamar was the former location of the naval basin attached to the headquarters of the British Forces Overseas Hong Kong between 1897-1997.

There were more than 3,000 rickshaws in the 1920s, after WW2, there was a drastic decrease. Most of the rickshaw men were low-skilled Chinese.

In 2015, only three licensed rickshaws remained.

隨著城市發展，過往在香港出現的事物逐漸消逝，現在來讓我們重溫50年代的風光。

Micah has also recently graduated from NYU Tisch as a composer for the musical theatre. He has mostly arranged and composed for UK companies including Genesis Ballet, The Haywood Sisters, and Rare Moustache. He has also worked as a conductor for a season with The Hong Kong Women’s Choir’s a cappella group Grace Notes.

There were a number of interesting memorabilia of Hong Kong in the 1950s. Most of them have unfortunately vanished.

They only leave their trace on old photos and documents. Here are some of the most memorable icons of the 1950s.

先後畢業於香港中文大學（主修英文）及香港演藝學院戲劇學院（主修導演），2008年 獲英國倫敦大學中央戲劇及語言學院碩士，同年夏天獲亞洲文化協會基金獎學金前往美國 考察研究。現為一條褲製作藝術總監，近年導演作品有紀錄劇場《本來沒有菜園村》、 《1967》、翻譯作品《黃面佬》及雙語劇《Gweilo》。胡氏為康樂及文化事務署藝術節 小組委員、香港學校戲劇節首席評判及香港藝術發展局審批員，亦於香港科技大學、 香港演藝學院及恆生管理學院擔任兼職講師。2017年底獲民政事務局局長嘉許計劃嘉許， 表揚他在香港推動紀錄劇場的貢獻。

Trained as an actor in London at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. He most recently appeared as a guest performer in Short-cut to Classical Music: and now…Maestro! with the Hong Kong Sinfonietta. With Pants Theatre Productions, he performed (in Cantonese) as Marcus in Yellow Face (黃面佬), as well as co-writing and acting in the original production of Gweilo. Other credits include playing Silvano in Sleepless with Analogue Theatre (London), Joseph in We Happy Few (London), and Jack in Into the Woods (Hong Kong).

不過對我父母來說，他們以香港為家，的確是有過程的。對他們來說，曾經香 港只是一個完全陌生的地方，與他們的童年拉不上關係。一個陌生的地方，如 何蛻變成為一個家，引起我和導演胡海輝的興趣。

如果我必須找一個字來總結這個劇本的核心，必定是「家」。對於Martin Booth和我來說，香港是我們童年的家。我倆居住在同一城市，即使活在不同 時空，但是這個城市怎樣把我們孕育成人的歷程，我深有同感。香港，不是成 為了我的家，而是從一開始就是我的家。

It is not easy to realize a stage production, while it is even more memorable to have a revival. To my surprise, 2017/18 has become a year of revivals for Pants. Since the end of 2017, we have been delighted to see the return of our several past productions. Now towards the end of 2018, Gweilo - another re-run is about to open. I remember during its premier it was a difficult time for Pants.

Fortunately, we have endured. Now Pants has gradually picked up its own pace. The fact that this season of revivals is drawing to a close with Gweilo is intriguing. Gweilo was the last part of our “Diaspora Trilogy”, of which the three plays are not related to each other in terms of its stories. They were thematically related by exploring the identity of Hongkongers and Chinese via the angle of diaspora. Now we have worked on Gweilo again and thought about the meaning of “home” in the eyes of a golden boy. Next year, we will have a series of new original documentary theatre works with focus on various aspects of our home - Hong Kong. Thus, Gweilo prepares us much better for the future theatrical ventures.

Yet, for our parents, it became home. Hong Kong was a completely foreign place to them and didn’t resemble their own childhood homes whatsoever. That story of how an unfamiliar place transforms and becomes your home intrigued me and my collaborator Wu Hoi Fai.

导演的話

一個演出能夠上演已經不容易，有機會再演更是難能可貴，想不到2017 至18年成了一條褲製作重演之年，自2017年年底起，我們慶幸有機會重演了 多齣作品，來到2018年下旬，另一個演出《Gweilo》又重登舞台。記得 首演時，劇團正值艱難時期，可幸挺過，撐到今天，劇團發展總算穩定 下 來 。 這 重 演 之 年 以 《 Gweilo》 作 結 ， 也 許 是 天 意 ， 首 演 之 時 此 劇 為 【流徙三部曲】的壓軸篇，三部曲雖然故事內容沒有關連，不過也是以 「流徙」角度看香港人/華人的身份問題，今天重新琢磨此劇，以金髮 小童的目光思考「何以為家」這命題，正好為未來作好準備，因為 下一年我們會相繼創作幾個紀錄劇場作品，探討我們這個家—香港的 不同議題。

If I had to nail down one word that is at the heart of this play, that word would be “home”. For both Martin Booth and I, Hong Kong is our childhood home. And even though we lived here at very different times, I feel a kinship with how this city formed us as people. Hong Kong never became home as much as it was home from the very beginning.

畢業於香港演藝學院學士︵榮譽︶學位 課程，主修藝術、項目及舞台管理。在學 期間，曾獲頒匯豐銀行香港與內地學生交流獎 Carry Cheung 學 金。以自由身舞台工作者參與不同劇團之 舞台監督 製作，包括一條褲製作︽流徒之女︾︵首演及 上海重演︶等。
