Meet Allen Berkstresser Allen Berkstresser has had a successful career as an appraiser beginning in 1988. He has followed that career path in serving 20 years as the Stone County Assessor. He was first appointed by Governor John Ashcroft in 1989 and was successful in his re -election until retiring in 2009. Since leaving office, he has been the founder and president of Access IV Property Tax Management basing his office in Kansas City, Missouri. There as a property tax analyst, he was able to develop clients in both the residential and commercial property field. As the Stone County Assessor, Berkstresser helped develop and implement the first GIS system for Stone County. As a pioneer in the field for GIS systems in rural Missouri, Berkstresser conducted state-wide training for assessors. Property, cattle, and farm land has been Berkstresser's interest and career since 1973, when he bought 240 acre dairy farm. After 20 years of dairy he converted to beef in 1994. He has just recently sold the family farm to completely focus on his real estate career. Berkstresser was a minister's son and spent his early childhood in Oklahoma. Then the ministry took the Berkstresser family to Kansas. There he completed his primary and high school years in Wichita, Kansas.
