EDITOR’S MESSAGE: Welcome to Keynote’s sixth issue! In this issue, we finally see the fruits of our labor-after one month of planning, Coffeehouse has finally come to fruition as a wonderful memory to those that attended. I hope that Key Clubbers will be able to relive that spectacular night through the coverage done in this newsletter. Sincerely, Yang Fu, 2014-2015 Editor

Hello PHS Key Club, Welcome to the new year! Just to recap the last month...A big thank you to everyone who came out to Coffeehouse to support the Eliminate Project! We hope you enjoyed snacking and sipping hot drinks to a jazzy rendition of Anaconda, A Boy Named John, and numerous other entertaining performances. Shout out to the serving committee for being the most courteous of waiters and the decorating committee for setting the mood with fairy lights and balloons! We raised over $300 to save mothers and their babies . We are still in the process of planning a visit to Baldwin Oaks (perhaps a bingo night!), a weekend for canning at local supermarkets, and a restaurant fundraiser.

We will also recommence Class Projects very soon - where each grade plans and participates in a fundraiser and service project under a director - so begin thinking about project ideas, especially if you're interested in applying for Class Project Director. This is a great leadership opportunity to demonstrate interest in the club and gain hands-on experience, especially if you plan on running for an officer position at the end of February. Be sure to continue your involvement and look forward to more service opportunities! Yours in Caring and Service, Lizzie Tu PHS Key Club President

As Lieutenant Governor this past year, my time in Key Club has opened me up to a series of new opportunities and helped me grow into a better leader. While it may be a lot of work, the position itself is rewarding on a daily basis. From International Convention to Board Meetings to Fall Rally, this past year has given me a series of opportunities to open up and meet other passionate leaders who care about the people around them. I’ve cleaned up beaches, packaged food, and written letters to soldiers. Being on the district board allows you to pursue a wider range of service projects and explore your abilities as a leader. The greatest challenge of being LTG however has been the administrative work that comes along with it. As LTG, I’ve held meetings for this division, filled out monthly report forms, attended board meetings, organized workshops and training conferences, and so much more. I’ve spent a lot of long hours and sleepless nights this past year trying to accomplish all of my duties, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I encourage all of you reading this to pursue greater involvement in Key Club, whether it’s on the club level or district! You never know how much you might end up loving it – I know I did. Yours in Caring and Service, Aleena Kazmi

Thank you to everyone that came to Coffeehouse! A big thanks goes out to the performers, and those in the committees. Without you guys, Coffeehouse would not have been possible! A Boy Named John, numerous poetry readings, Facebook throwback presentations, plus other performances made Coffeehouse an entertaining night. Even though Coffeehouse was a fun event, it was also an event that was for a good cause. Over 330 dollars were raised for the Eliminate Project, which is no small feat! It is amazing what a night of performances can do for the future of maternal and neonatal tetanus prevention.
