It has been such fun to find out what our delegates have been up to since we gathered in Montenegro in May this year. We are living in frightening times, amid global conflict and environmental crisis and it is easy to feel overwhelmed. This is why it is so important to do what we can to try to bring about positive change, to listen to others who have different lived experience and to learn how to do better for those who will come after us.
As the organiser of a conference and the publisher of magazines, I am acutely aware that talk is cheap and actions speak louder than words. But our members don’t just talk – they discover, they create, they preserve, they lead by example and they inspire. They dare to think differently, they refuse to accept that the future is bleak and they seek to transform – with resorts that protect the environment, reconnect the guest and regenerate the communities around them.
