ABOUT THE SUMMER PROGRAMME! These are challenging times. From covid to the cost of living, residents of Barking and Dagenham, like people everywhere, are working out how to navigate the choppy waters ahead.

This packed programme is bringing you over 300 sessions created by friends and neighbours right across this borough. The people of Barking and Dagenham are showing that, despite challenges on the horizon, the future is ours to make if we all work together.

One thing is for certain, we can only tackle these issues together. Drawing on the creativity, ingenuity and resilience of everyone! Given the right tools and opportunities, anyone can design the solutions they need, and create the opportunities they are looking for.

From sharing recipes, learning how to look after your bike, turning waste food into delicious meals, and introductions to sign language, to a huge day of making and repairing at Everyone’s Warehouse Make It Festival, if you’re looking to fill your summer diary, look no further!

This is where Every One Every Day comes in! It is a supportive system of spaces, tools and resources that enables everyone to act on the things they care about. If Everyone Does learning, local residents will gain the confidence and ability to seize the amazing opportunities down the line in Barking and Dagenham!

EVERYONE DOES: GROWING One of London’s greenest boroughs is also one of its most green fingered! Come along to one of the many sessions in the programme focused on growing. From veg, to flowers to rewilding, and help to show that if Everyone Does growing, this borough can create food, enjoyment and connection through its plantlife.

EVERYONE DOES: CELEBRATION In these times it is more important than ever that Everyone Does celebrate our amazing borough and its residents. The biggest opportunity to do that is through the various events happening this summer! Join your neighbours and take part in Make It! Festival, The Open Saturdays or The various Big Picnics happening to celebrate strength, creativity and togetherness.

DO YOU MAKE BEAUTIFUL, SUSTAINABLE AND ESSENTIAL EVERYDAY PRODUCTS AND WOULD LIKE TO SELL THEM IN A LOCAL POP-UP SHOP? THE OPPORTUNITY

THE COMMITMENT

HOW TO JOIN

Come join this summer to develop products and sell them this Autumn at The Good House, a pop-up shop at Dagenham Heathway Shopping Centre. The Good House pop-up shop is run by residents of this borough who want to test trade their products together working as a team.

A minimum of 28 residents are needed to run the shop with everyone taking on 4 day shifts, selling everyone’s products. This allows the shop to be open for four weeks throughout the end of September and beginning of October.

If you want to develop products this summer, join the Makerin-Training courses on page 12 - 13 to learn making skills as well as the Collaborative Business sessions to develop your brand and products as a collective of makers.

You can also host practical workshops at The Good House to draw in more customers.

If you already make products, bring them to the session to learn if they follow the product principles. You can also join the business sessions to develop your brand further. Any questions, speak to the Collaborative Business Team, find thier contact details on page 7.

All products need to follow specific design principles to create a collection of sustainable, everyday items that fit under the concept of The Good House.

PRODUCT PRINCIPLES Products and items are needed for everyday life and you can influence the impact these have on the planet. Come on a journey to learn and apply as many product principles to your products ideas. Products accepted into the pop-up shop need to follow as many principles as possible. T h e M a k e r- i n - Tr a i n i n g a n d Collaborative Business programmes are designed to support you on this journey. You will learn how to make products following these principles. The Maker Meet-Ups and Product Design Development sessions will also support you on how to make your products even better, ensuring your products are not only needed but planet positive.
