At home stacks of paperwork are memories of a distant past. I consume books on an e-reader and my bills come by email. So why do I need a cabinet? Well, for all the essential memories of my life. The china of my grandmother, the photographs of my children as they grew up. A signed copy of “For Whom the Bell tolls” and the contract for my first job as an independent advisor. Written in 1818, Keats was at the time a young man living in a very turbulent era; only three violent decades after the French revolution and at the start of the British industrial revolution. The country transitioned from a low paced economy driven by handicraft, closed communities and an appreciation for the simple life, into a fast paced society, with an incredible growth in population, wealth and possibilities. In the middle of these changes, Keats longed for the simple beauty of things. We are once again living in turbulent times, with major economic shifts, an information revolution and a new outlook on our future; each offering challenges and possibilities for a new generation. Amid these changes, a thing of beauty can last forever. It is the essence of durability and sustainability. A thing of beauty is simple, driven by a clear concept and excites the observer. Good design inspires and shapes places. It survives changes in taste and style. It is a rock of continuity.

For Pastoe, furniture is not just a product; it is a long lasting relationship that starts with the conception of the first design and lasts far beyond the day that it is purchased by the customer. Pastoe products are full of stories written by the designers, the makers, the stores and the customers. Not a day goes by that we donâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t receive a question about a product that we produced many years ago. It has been in the family for a long time, harbours many memories and the owners need to replace a part or want to combine it with new Pastoe furniture. Authentic design, we discovered, is an important quality in a world that has been driven by affordability and mass production for a long time. This relationship between our designs and customers is long lasting and special, but a relationship only works when it is interactive. The one-size-fits-all design does not fit this era. Our furniture gets its real value through its ownerâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s creativity and use. Keats was een jonge man die leefde in een turbulente tijd; slechts enkele tientallen jaren vol geweld na de Franse revolutie, de start van de Britse industriĂŤle revolutie. Het land maakte de ontwikkeling door van een stabiele economie gebaseerd op ambachtelijk werk, besloten gemeenschappen en de waardering voor een eenvoudig leven naar een snelle samenleving gekenmerkt door een ongekende bevolkingsgroei en sterke groei in welvaart en mogelijkheden. The Vision line has endless variations and consists of over a hundred components to choose from. Vision was designed from the philosophy that a cabinet composition should be part of the total room architecture. The basis of Vision is a rectangular shape with either drawers, doors or flaps and without handles. The doors have an angular edge for a minimalistic look. There is a great variety in depths, height, width and lots of colours and veneers. Fronts close using a push-touch system. Unlimited compositions are possible; from a free standing mount of components, to a graphic grid on your wall. From a series of sideboards to an architectonic landscape of volumes, from wall-mounted object to singular wall components. Every component is carefully designed and diligently crafted in our factory. Tim really gave it his best to colour within the lines. He likes to stay at grandma and grandpaâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s. The drawing was for grandpa, but grandma got to see it first. Initially, she was a bit speechless. Grandpa called Pastoe straight away and they sent two new panels, with instructions on how to hang them straight. Piece of cake. The old panels are hanging on the wall in the kitchen now. And Tim got some new markers for colouring; wipe offs.

1985 pierre mazairac & karel boonzaaijer After his training at the Academy of Fine Arts, Pierre Mazairac (born in 1943) worked as a stylist and interior designer. He was a member of the Pastoe design team from 1975 to 1981. He has been living and working in Switzerland since 1994 and is mainly active in leisure design. Karel Boonzaaijer (born in 1948) began his design career as a furniture maker. After completing evening studies in architectural design at the arts academy, he joined furniture manufacturer Pastoe. Together with the Pastoe design team, he developed, among other things, the L-160 cabinet system in 1975. In 1980, Pierre Mazairac and Karel Boonzaaijer started the Mazairac/Boonzaaijer & Partners design firm in Zeist. They designed Vision using the philo足 sophy of having a cabinet as an architectural composition element. Maximum flexibility in possible applications, and very modest design help it to fit the Pastoe tradition perfectly. There is limitless scope for composition; from a three-dimensional relief design to a graphical lattice of lines and surfaces, from a series of sideboards to an architectural landscape of volumes.

Achtung - Um das Verformen zu vermeiden müssen geschlossene Schränke, in denen Hi-Fi-Geräte oder andere Wärmequellen untergebracht werden, mit Ventilationsmöglichkeiten ausgestattet werden. Bei frei stehenden Kästen können beispielsweise die Rückwände und/oder Böden mit Ventilationslöchern versehen werden. Hängeschränke bzw. Schränke, die dicht an die Wand gelehnt werden, müssen mit Boden-Ventilationslöchern versehen werden. - Die Scharnierposition (links/rechts) und die Position des Schnappers (unten/oben) deutlich auf der Bestellung angeben. Die mittleren Türen werden mit separaten Scharnieren befestigt. Maximale öffnung 155cm. - Frei im Raum stehende Korpusse können auf der Rückseite zur Verschönerung mit einem Abschlusspaneel versehen wurden, optisch sehen Vorder- und Rückseite dann gleich aus. - Wandboards werden auf maß in herausgegeben Größe gefertigt. Pastoe launches a brand new collaboration together with April and May. Both companies joined each other to combine the aesthetic collection of Pastoe with the style and vision of April and May. This resulted in a curated version in color and composition of the Vision & Boxes collection designed by Karel Boonzaaijer & Pierre Mazairac for Pastoe. For this special combination April and May were inspired by winter and the feeling it brings, a combination of materials and dark colors with a touch of dark blue. LANDSCAPE

Das Landscape System zeichnet sich durch zahlreiche Funktionen, Größen und Farben aus. Charakteristisch für den Schrank sind die übereinander gestapelten Korpusse mit offenen und geschlossenen Fächern und Zwischenbrettern. Die separaten Korpusse sind in drei Höhen und vier Breiten lieferbar. Die Zwischenbretter unterstreichen das horizontale Gefühl. Bei diesem Schranksystem kann man wunderbar mit Farben und Einteilungen experimentieren und so nicht nur zurückhaltende, sondern auch auffallende Möbel kreieren. Landscape ist sowohl als stehender als auch als Hängeschrank lieferbar und zwar in allen Farben und Ausführungen der regulären Pastoe-Kollektion. Die Länge lässt sich allen Gegebenheiten anpassen. LANDSCAPE Le système Landscape offre une grande variété de fonctions, de dimensions et de couleurs. Il s’agit d’un système tout à fait particulier, composé de caissons superposés, à sections ouvertes et fermées et d’éléments intermédiaires. Les caissons individuels sont disponibles dans trois hauteurs et quatre largeurs. Les éléments intermédiaires soulignent le sentiment d’horizontalité. En jouant avec les coloris et la disposition des différentes parties constituantes, il est possible de créer une armoire au style discret ou, au contraire, qui ne passe pas inaperçu. Le modèle Landscape peut aussi bien être fixé au mur que posé sur le sol et est disponible dans tous les coloris et toutes les finitions de la vaste collection Pastoe. La longueur peut être adaptée à chaque format souhaité. LANDSCAPE Il sistema Landscape presenta un gran numero di varietà e funzioni, misure e colori. Caratteristica di questo sistema sono le scocche impilate, con spazi aperti e chiusi e traverse. Le singole scocche sono disponibili in tre diverse misure di altezza e quattro misure di larghezza. LANDSCAPE Het Landscape systeem kent een grote variĂŤteit in functies, maten en kleuren. Kenmerkend voor de kast zijn de gestapelde rompen met open en dichte vakken en tussenliggers. De losse rompen zijn verkrijgbaar in drie hoogteen vier breedtematen. De tussenliggers benadrukken het horizontale gevoel. Door te spelen met kleuren en indelingen kan zowel een ingetogen als opvallende kast gecreĂŤerd worden. Landscape is zowel staand als hangend aan de wand leverbaar en verkrijgbaar in elke kleur en afwerking uit de vaste Pastoe collectie. De lengte is op elke gewenste maat aan te passen.

The Landscape system has a wide variety of functionalities, sizes and colors. The cabinet is distinguished by its stacked bodies with open and closed compartments, as well as its dividers. The bodies come in three different heights and four widths, while the dividers accentuate the sense of horizontality. By playing with different colors, veneers and layouts you can create either a small cabinet, or an eye-catching wall filling composition. Landscape is available in both a standing and mounted cabinet and comes in every color and finish of the permanent Pastoe collection and it can be customized to fit every length.

Mohamed assembles the cabinets at our customers’ homes. He also makes cabinets in our factory, but he’s usually on the road. He loves to travel, even all the way to Vienna. Last month, he went there to adjust a cabinet that was mounted incorrectly. Down there in the morning and back in the afternoon, with a panel as his carry-on luggage. Mo is from Iraq and after four years of wandering through Syria and other countries, he arrived in the Netherlands in 2005 with his mother, sister and brother. In the Netherlands, he made it through Wood and Furniture College in a year and a half. He’s quite fast learner. If you ask him what the most important thing is in his life, he’ll say “getting home safe.” Mo is really good, and we’re happy he chose the Netherlands and Pastoe.

YOUR OWN LANDSCAPE

2012 joost van der vecht Joost van der Vecht started his career in 1996 as designer at Arnold Merckx Design. In this studio he designed for several renowed European design labels such as Artifort, Arco, Spectrum and Pastoe. When he became Pastoe’s creative director later on he collaborate closely with designers and architects such as Naoto Fukasawa, Maarten van Severen en Vincent van Duysen. Joost developed through the years a natural feeling for simplicity and a talent to define proper propor tions. Through his design you can see his passion for graphic design and Japanese architecture. The concept of a ‘grid’ is a permanent theme in his work.

TOTEM Totem ist aus viereckigen losen Korpussen aufgebaut. Diese können offen oder an einer Seite geschlossen sein und darin können horizontale Einlegeböden angebracht werden. Außerdem besteht die Möglichkeit, in der Mitte eine vertikale Trennwand anzubringen, sodass man gerade noch durch den Korpus schauen kann. Charakteristisches Merkmal des Schrankes sind die Korpusse durch Leisten unterteilt werden. Totem ist in allen Farben und Verarbeitungen der Pastoe-Kollektion erhältlich, inklusive Furnier.

TOTEM Totem comporte des caissons distincts de forme carrée qui peuvent être complètement ouverts ou fermés sur un côté. Ils peuvent contenir des étagères et être dotés d’une séparation centrale verticale qui permet encore juste de voir à travers le caisson. Cette armoire se caractérise par des caissons qui sont séparés par des réglettes. Totem est disponible dans tous les coloris et finitions de la collection Pastoe, avec placage. TOTEM Totem è costituito da scocche quadrate indipendenti. Le scocche possono essere aperte o chiuse da un lato e possono essere provviste di ripiani orizzontali. Inoltre è possibile inserite dei divisori verticali al centro, che permettono di guardare appena attraverso la scocca. Totem is composed out of separate square bodies. It is our vertical design. The bodies are divided into segments. The bodies can be open or closed on one side, with or without shelves in them. There is a vertical divider to define front and backside. Totem is available in all the colors and finishes in the Pastoe collection, including veneer. TOTEM

Totem is opgebouwd uit vierkante losse rompen. Deze kunnen open of aan ĂŠĂŠn kant gesloten zijn en er kunnen horizontale legplanken in worden geplaatst. Bovendien is het mogelijk een verticaal tussenschot in het midden te plaatsen, waardoor er nog net door de romp heen kan worden gekeken. Kenmerkend voor de kast zijn de rompen die onderverdeeld worden door regels. Totem is verkrijgbaar in alle kleuren en afwerkingen uit de Pastoe-collectie, inclusief fineer.

I always wanted to be a designer. Then I found out you can compose your own furniture at Pastoe. With different horizontal and vertical separations and endless colour combinations. Not easy al those choices. Luckily thereâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Joost. Joost is creative director at Pastoe. He composed his favourite version of the Totem. I have to agree, this is the best combination, but I am not going to tell that to anybody.

CIRCLE AROUND THE TOTEM

2010 vincent van duysen Belgian architect Vincent Van Duysen (1962) studied architecture at Sint-Lucas Hogeschool in Gent. In 1990 he set up his own studio in Antwerp. Van Duysen designs residences and offices, as well as furniture and objects for internationally renowned manufacturers such as B&B Italia, Tribu, and Poliform. His building designs are subdued, with clear forms and subtle contrasts. Solid concrete walls are given large windows, which make the structure appear fragile. Soft materials like timber and textile are mixed with robust natural stone. His furniture and architecture are characterised by simplicity and a refined interplay of lines. Pastoe involved Van Duysen in developing its collection because of his austerity, sharp eye for detail, and the way he plays with light and space. This cooperation resulted in Totem, an item of furniture that changes with use. Totem is constructed from separate square bodies which are subdivided into segments by broad bands of colour and which can be turned. In this way, the furniture doesnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t just create new functions, it also changes in colour and shape continuously.

PURE Die sachliche Geometrie und die haarfeine Endverarbeitung sind die wichtigsten Merkmale dieses schlichten Schranksystems. Der Name lag also auf der Hand: Pure. Die klare Form wird durch die dünnen Abdeckplatten nachdrücklich betont. Es stehen ein stehender Schrank und ein Hängeschrank zur Auswahl. Die Fronten sind sowohl mit als auch ohne Griff erhältlich, wobei die Griffe sind in zwei Breiten angeboten werden. Der stehende Schrank wird mit einem schlichten Untergestell geliefert. Dieser raffinierte Rahmen kann in der Farbe des Schrankes, silbergrau lackiert oder in Edelstahl geliefert werden. PURE

A clean line and high end finish are the most prominent characteristics of this modest cabinet system. That is why we called it Pure. The clear form is emphasized by the thin finishing tops. Fronts can be with and without handles, in two different dimensions. There is a freestanding and a wall-mounted model. The standing cabinet comes standard with a modest support frame, available in the same color as the cabinet, or in silver-grey and stainless steel. PURE

I took that photo of that line of trees on a New Yearâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Day. A big contrast with the night before. Fog surrounded me, not a person in sight and the trees were bare. The row of trees was perfect, the same distance from one another and in a straight line, just as the urban architect had planned it. I felt his intentions and that made me very relaxed, my hangover notwithstanding.

Le buffet bas est disponible en deux longueurs et avec des façades et tiroirs différents. Les façades exemptes de poignée se ferment par un système à simple pression. The Noon derives its unique character from the frame. It is a low sideboard available in two different lengths and with a variety of fronts and drawers in all Pastoe colors. Achtung Um das Verformen zu vermeiden müssen geschlossene Schränke, in denen Hi-Fi-Geräte oder andere Wärmequellen untergebracht werden, mit Ventilationsmöglichkeiten ausgestattet werden. Bei frei stehenden Kästen können beispielsweise die Rückwände und/oder Böden mit Ventilationslöchern versehen werden. Hängeschränke bzw. Schränke, die dicht an die Wand gelehnt werden, müssen mit Boden-Ventilationslöchern versehen werden. Bei schwerer Belastung empfiehlt es sich ein Stützrohr anzuwenden. Ein Rahmen, das ist faktisch der Kern der L-Serie. Mit dem charakteristischen Aufsatz und der Sockelleiste lässt sich der Schrank mit verschiedenen Interieurs einteilen. Die Vorderfront des Schrankes ist im Verhältnis 1/3 – 2/3 unterteilt, so dass er immer einen harmonischen und attraktiven Anblick bietet. Die L-Serie bietet auf Grund der flexiblen Höhe und der Einteilungen eine ungeahnte Freiheit. Das Ergebnis kann sowohl ein offenes als auch ein geschlossenes Raster sein.

L-Spring ist der Nachfolger der L-Serie, einem sehr erfolgreichen Modell des Pastoe-Programms. Das Konzept und die Nutzung von Schränken haben sich im Laufe der Jahre weiterentwickelt, und der L-Schrank hat sich an diese Entwicklung angepasst. Heller, aber mit den gleichen klassischen Proportionen, die für die L-Serie charakteristisch sind. Die neue Aufteilung entspricht dem Kundenwunsch nach mehr Verwendungsmöglichkeiten. Der Schrank passt sowohl in Ihr Zuhause als auch in ein geschäftliches Umfeld. Die Ausstrahlung ist und bleibt typisch Pastoe, zurückhaltend und charaktervoll. L-Spring besteht aus 3 Ausführungen, zwei Sideboards und einem Highboard.

L-SERIE Un cadre, tel est en fait le cœur de la L-Série. L’armoire aux chapeau et plinthe caractéristiques, peut être divisée à l’aide de différents éléments intérieurs. Les proportions de la façade de l’armoire sont de 1/3 - 2/3, ce qui lui confère un aspect harmonieux et toujours attrayant. La L-Série laisse une grande liberté d’agencement grâce aux différentes hauteurs et divisions possibles. Avec pour résultat un quadrillage pouvant être aussi bien ouvert que fermé. L-SERIE

L-SPRING La série L-Spring succède à la série L qui constitue l’un des grands succès de la gamme de meubles Pastoe. Le design et l’utilisation des armoires ont changé au cours des années et l’armoire L fait partie des meubles qui ont été adaptés en fonction. Plus légère, elle garde néanmoins les mêmes proportions classiques caractéristiques de la série L. Il mobile si adatta bene all’abitazione come all’ambiente di lavoro. L’aspetto è tipico di Pastoe, discreto ma pieno di carattere. The L-serie has a characteristic top and base and can be customize with different interiors and functionalities. The front section of the cabinet is divided in a one-third/two-third setup, resulting in a harmonious and solid appearance. L-SPRING The L-Spring is the successor of the L-Series, one of the most successful designs from the Pastoe range. The functionality and design of cabinets in general has evolved over the years and the L-line evolves concurrently. This is the L-light version with the same classical proportions characteristic of the original line. The L-Spring is very contemporary due to its asymmetrical frontal arrangement. The cabinet is suitable for both home and business environments. It is available in three versions – two sideboards and one highboard.

De L-Spring is de opvolger van de L-serie, één van de grote succes ontwerpen uit de Pastoe reeks. Het ontwerp en het gebruik van kasten heeft zich in de loop der jaren ontwikkeld en de L-kast is aan die ontwikkeling en aangepast. Lichter maar met dezelfde klassieke verhoudingen die kenmerkend zijn voor de L-serie. De nieuwe indeling sluit aan op de wens van de klant naar meer gebruiksmogelijkheden. Then I started to wonder why my office had some better-looking furniture than my living room, so I brought the cabinet to my house. Now my desk is full of stuff again and I consider buying another L-Spring for the office. This time in red.

Anordnung L-serie Das L260 Programm besteht aus Basis- und Stapelkorpussen. Die Korpusse können ausgestattet warden mit Abschlussseite, Aufsatz, Sockelleiste, Einlege- Konstructionboden, Tür, Schublade, Klappe und Separation. Der Basiskorpusse werden auf den Boden gestellt. Ist der Schrank höher als 144 cm, dann wird Stapelkorpusse auf 105 oder 137 cm hohe Basiskorpusse gestellt. Stapelkorpusse müssen die gleiche Breite und Tiefe haben. Korpusse werden in der Breite direkt oder mit Hilfe einer Verbindungsplatte gekoppelt. Bei einer direkten Kopplung kann man sich für einen durchlaufenden Aufsatz oder Aufsätzen in Korpusbreite entschieden. Anordnung L-spring 35 Jahre nach der Einführung des ersten Entwurfs aus der L-Serie, präsentieren wir den Nachfolger: L-Spring. L-Spring ist in 3 Ausführungen lieferbar, als Sideboard mit einer Breite von 213 oder 273 cm und als Highboard. In den Preisen für die „gloss“ bzw. „wood“ Kombination sind alle in Glanzlack oder Holzfurnier ausgeführten Elemente als Glanzlack bzw. Holzfurnier berechnet.

Allgemeines Die Preise verstehen sich in Euro und sind unverbindliche Preisempfehlungen. Änderungen und Druckfehler vorbehalten. Bei den “gloss” Kombinationspreisen wurden alle Teile, die in Glanzlackausführung möglich sind, als Glanzlack berechnet. Achtung Um das Verformen zu vermeiden müssen geschlossene Schränke, in denen Hi-Fi-Geräte oder andere Wärmequellen untergebracht werden, mit Ventilationsmöglichkeiten ausgestattet werden. Bei frei stehenden Kästen können beispielsweise die Rückwände und/oder Böden mit Ventilationslöchern versehen werden. Schränke, die dicht an die Wand gelehnt werden, müssen mit Boden-Ventilationslöchern versehen werden. Bei schwerer Belastung empfiehlt es sich ein Stützrohr anzuwenden. Die Türen mit Griffen sind mit einem integrierten Dämpfer versehen. Eine Schublade / ein Schubladenkasten von 10 cm hoch passt nicht unter eine Klappe mit Klappenboden. Die Eichen Schubkasten sind mit doppelt ausziehbaren Schubladen-schienen und Schubladendämpfung ausgestattet.

Ausführung L-spring Composition L-serie Le L260 programma se compose de caissons de base et caissons superposés. Les caissons peuvent être pourvus de panneaux latéraux, chaperonnes et plinthes, rayons, rayons de construction, portes, tiroirs, abatants et séparations. Les caissons de base sont placés sur le sol. Si l’armoire est plus haute que 144 cm, il faudra placer les caissons superposés sur un caisson de base. Les caissons superposés sont placés sur des caissons de base de 105 ou 137 cm de haut. Tutte le parti disponibili in laccato lucido o in legno, verranno calcolate come tali nel listino prezzi sotto la dicitura laccato lucido “gloss/wood” o combinazioni legno “wood”.

Per sostenere oggetti pesanti è consigliabile utilizzare un tubo di supporto. Gli sportelli con maniglie vengono dotate di un ammortizzatore integrato. Un cassetto/cassettone alto 10 cm non può essere montato sotto una ribalta con base. I cassetti vengono realizzati internamente in rovere e sono dotati di guide a binario estraibili con fine corsa ammortizzato.

Bij vrijstaande kasten door het aanbrengen van ventilatiegaten in achterpaneel en/of bodem. Bij kasten die strak tegen de wand staan door ventilatiegaten in de bodem. Bij zware belasting wordt aanbevolen een steunbuis toe te passen. Deuren met grepen worden voorzien van een geïntegreerde demper. Een lade / ladebak van 10 cm hoogte past niet onder een klep met klepbodem. De eiken ladenbakken worden voorzien van dubbel uittrekbare ladelopers met ladedemping.

1978 aldo van den nieuwelaar Dutch (industrial) designer and sculptor Aldo van den Nieuwelaar (1944-2010) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Breda and then worked at various architectural firms in Amsterdam. He was inspired by the sober clarity of Rietveld and De Stijl, the Bauhaus of the 1920s and minimalist art of the 1960s. In 1969 he started work as an independent designer, experimenting with geometry. The A’dammer cabinet system (pronounced ‘Amsterdammer’, named for the parking bollards used in Amsterdam) is a typical example of his minimalism. The A’dammer is a vertical tall cabinet with a rolling shutter consisting of a single unit, characterised by the profiled slide with an integrated grip function. The design received various design awards, including the ASID award (1980) and the prestigious Kho Liang Ie award (1986). The cabinet has been purchased by leading museums such as the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, the municipal museum of The Hague and the Kunstgewerbe Museum in Berlin. The A’dammer is now an icon of national and international design.

Schlichtheit und Minimalismus sind weitere, für Pastoe typische DesignMerkmale dieses Sideboards. FRAME Frame est un buffet bas de style contemporain doté d‘un piètement élégant. Les larges poignées accentuent sa forme horizontale allongée. S’inspirant de la célèbre série U+N créée par Cees Braakman en 1958, Frame a été repensé en utilisant des nouvelles techniques et des matériaux actuels. Le design sobre, pur et minimaliste de Frame est tout à fait typique du style Pastoe. FRAME Frame è un mobile buffet contemporaneo con una base raffinata. Frame is a contemporary sideboard on a slim support. The wide handles stress the extended horizontal form. Frame was inspired by the famous U+N series by Cees Braakman from 1958, and is translated into a modern design language using new techniques and materials. VISION CABINETS Beim Entwurf von Vision ließ man sich von der Designphilosophie leiten, dass ein Schrank als Teil einer architektonischen Komposition verstanden werden müsse. Ausgangspunkt von Vision ist ein griffloser Kubus in vollständiger Gehrung in unterschiedlichen Tiefen, Höhen und Breiten. Als Erweiterung der erfolgreichen Vision-Linie haben wir einige monolithische Objekte entworfen: Vision Cabinets. Die größeren Korpusse mit den durchlaufenden Platten sorgen für mehr Ruhe und Schönheit. Durch die vollständige Gehrung und die grifflosen Fronten entstehen Kompositionen von Linien und Flächen mit überraschenden Farb- und Materialakzenten. Zu Ehren unseres 100-jährigen Firmenjubiläums kam bereits der Vision Jubilee auf den Markt, der eine Hommage an die bekannten Schränke der Birken-Serie und der Reihe U+N aus den 50erund 60er-Jahren darstellt. VISION CABINETS Le concept Vision est issu de la philosophie qui conçoit une armoire comme un élément à part entière de l’architecture. Le concept de base de Vision est un cube, exempt de poignée, entièrement assemblé en onglet, de différentes profondeurs, hauteurs et largeurs. L’utilisation de caissons plus larges, aux plateaux d’un seul tenant, confère une impression de calme et d’esthétisme. Les côtés entièrement assemblés en onglet et les façades sans poignées permettent de réaliser des compositions de lignes et de surfaces, avec de accents étonnants de couleurs et de matériau. Il punto di partenza di Vision è un cubo senza maniglie completamente rifinito, con misure di profondità, altezza e ampiezza diverse. Come ampliamento della linea di successo Vision è stata creata una serie di monoliti: Vision Cabinets. Tramite l’applicazione di scocche più grandi si crea una sensazione di quiete e bellezza. Grazie all’angolazione completa e ai pannelli frontali senza maniglie vengono realizzate composizioni di linee e superfici con tocchi di colore e materiale sorprendenti. In occasione dei 100 anni di esistenza era già uscito il Vision Jubilee, che rappresentava un omaggio al celebre armadio di betulla e all’armadio U+N degli anni 50/60.

Vision was designed according to the philosophy of having a cabinet as an architectural element. The basic concept of Vision is a cubic and completely mitred chest with no handles, with various depths, heights and widths available. To extend the successful Vision collection, a number of monoliths were created: Vision Cabinets. Calm and beauty are created by applying bigger bodies with continuous tops. Because the fronts are completely mitred and have no handles, compositions of lines and surfaces can be achieved with surprising colour and material accents. Earlier, the Vision Jubilee was presented in honour of our 100th anniversary to pay homage to the wellknown birch cabinet and U+N cabinet from the 1950s and ‘60s. VISION CABINETS Vision is ontworpen vanuit de filosofie om een kast als compositie deel van de architectuur te laten zijn. Het uitgangspunt van Vision is een greeploze kubus in volledig verstek in verschillende diepte-, hoogteen breedtematen. Als uitbreiding op de succesvolle Vision-lijn zijn een drietal monolieten gecreëerd: Vision Cabinets. Bestaande uit een vierkant cabinet op plint, een hoog cabinet op metalen onderstel en de secretaire op metalen onderstel. Door de toepassing van grotere rompen met doorlopende bladen wordt rust en schoonheid gecreëerd. Door het volledige verstek en de greeploze fronten worden composities van lijnen en vlakken gerealiseerd, met verrassende kleuren materiaal accenten. Het Vision jubileum cabinet, in 2013 uitgegeven ter ere van het 100-jarig van Pastoe, is een hommage aan het bekende berkenkabinet en U+N kabinet uit de jaren ‘50/’60.

In 1980, Pierre Mazairac and Karel Boonzaaijer started the Mazairac/Boonzaaijer & Partners design firm in Zeist. They designed Vision using the philosophy of having a cabinet as an architectural composition element. Maximum flexibility in possible applications, and very modest design help it to fit the Pastoe tradition perfectly. There is limitless scope for composition; from a three-dimensional relief design to a graphical lattice of lines and surfaces, from a series of sideboards to an architectural landscape of volumes.

Der Pastoe Wire wurde 1953 von Cees Braakman und Adriaan Dekker entworfen. Mit Stahldraht ließ sich nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg, in einer Zeit großer Materialknappheit, zu niedrigen Kosten ein funktionaler und stabiler Stuhl herstellen. Die Wohnzimmer waren damals klein und der transparente Stuhl stand weniger im Weg als die traditionellen klassischen Möbel aus Holz. Das Modell wurde ein großer Erfolg und war sehr beliebt bei jungen Familien, die diesen Stuhl als ein modernes, rebellisches Statement sahen. Der Wire ist nun in einer neuen und verbesserten Fassung erhältlich. Die Sitzﬂäche ist an die modernen Anforderungen angepasst worden und die Farbpalette wurde erweitert. Damit können Sie heute ganz eigene, revolutionäre Kombinationen zusammenstellen.

Der firmeneigene Designer von Pastoe, Cees Braakman, entwarf 1951 den Frisiertisch. Ein funktionelles und schlichtes 50er Jahre Modell aus Furnier-Sperrholzplatten. Grazil wie eine Gazelle in heller Birke, mit zwei Schubladen und einer Klappe in der Tischplatte. Wir erkannten darin die Umgestaltungsmöglichkeiten zu einem Schreibtisch und beschlossen, das Modell aufs Neue herzustellen. Da auch die Körpergröße seit 1951 zugenommen hat, waren einige Anpassungen nötig. Die Arbeitsplatte ist höher angebracht, während die ﬂacheren Schubladen den Beinen bequem Platz bieten. Eine Kabeldurchführung für den Computer ist ebenfalls vorhanden. Unter der Klappe können Utensilien verstaut werden.

WIRE La Pastoe Wire è stata creata nel 1953 da Cees Braakman e Adriaan Dekker. In un tempo in cui i materiali scarseggiavano, dopo la Seconda Guerra Mondiale, i fili d’acciaio permisero di realizzare una sedia funzionale e resistente ad un costo contenuto. I salotti erano piccoli e la sedia trasparente dava meno nell’occhio rispetto ad un mobile tradizionale. Fu un grande successo, acquistato soprattutto dalle giovani coppie, per cui la sedia era un simbolo di modernità e ribellione. Presentiamo ora la versione nuova e migliorata della Wire. La seduta è stata adeguata alle esigenze del nostro tempo ed abbiamo aggiunto una gamma di colori. La invitiamo a creare la sua combinazione ribelle, unica e personale.

En 1951, Cees Braakman, designer chez Pastoe, crée la coiffeuse. Le contreplaqué développé dans les années cinquante est un matériau fonctionnel et simple. Le meuble rappelle une gazelle élancée en bouleau blanc, agrémenté de deux tiroirs sur la face avant et d’un abattant sur la partie centrale. Nous nous sommes dit qu’elle pouvait également être utilisée en bureau et avons donc décidé d’en relancer la production. Mais pour répondre à la morphologie spécifique des utilisateurs de 2016, nous avons apporté quelques modifications au design datant de 1951 : le Desk est perché plus haut sur ses pieds et la hauteur des tiroirs a été réduite afin d’offrir plus d’espace pour les jambes. Un trou a en outre été percé afin de pouvoir faire passer les fils de votre ordinateur et un bac en bois a été placé sous l’abattant.

Le Wire de Pastoe a été conçu par Cees Braakman et Adriaan Dekker en 1953. La période d’après-guerre étant marquée par une forte pénurie de matériaux, le fil d’acier permettait de fabriquer à peu de frais des fauteuils solides et fonctionnels. Les salons étaient petits et le fauteuil transparent occupait moins de place que les meubles traditionnels. Le fauteuil remporta un très vif succès, surtout auprès des jeunes couples pour qui il représentait un accessoire très original et quelque peu rebelle. Nous vous présentons ici la version améliorée du Wire: le siège a été adapté aux exigences de confort de notre époque et nous avons ajouté un large éventail de coloris. À vous maintenant de composer votre meuble anticonformiste, unique et personnel!

Nel 1951 Cees Braakman, il designer interno di Pastoe, ha ideato il tavolo da toeletta. Il Multiplex è una creazione funzionale e semplice che risale agli anni cinquanta. Una struttura snella in chiara betulla, con due cassetti ed una ribalta nel piano. Ci abbiamo visto una bella scrivania ed abbiamo deciso di rimettere in produzione il tavolo. Abbiamo adeguato qualcosa perché l’uomo del 2016 ha una struttura un po’ diversa dall’uomo del 1951. Il Desk è un po’ più alto sulle gambe ed i cassetti sono un po’ più bassi, in modo che le gambe vi stiano comodamente sotto. Inoltre è dotato di un foro per il passaggio dei cavi del computer. Sotto la ribalta è stata inserita una compartimentazione in legno.

The chairs were a great success and fashionable among young families, who considered them a modern, rebellious statement. This edition is the new and improved Wire. The seat has been adapted to current sensibilities and a wide range of colours is now available, so you can create the rebellious combination of your choice. WIRE De eerste Pastoe Wire is ontworpen in 1953 door Cees Braakman en Adriaan Dekker. DESK EBO1 Back in the 1950s, this desk was designed as a dressing table. It’s an authentic Braakman in white birch, with legs, drawers and a large lid in the centre. A simple, yet very functional design. This dressing table was gathering dust in Pastoe’s attic, when the team saw its potential as a beautiful contemporary desk. We have given it a modern twist and added it to our collection. We have heightened the frame to accommodate modern man’s longer legs, and fitted it with a cable feed- through for a laptop, lamp, and charger. Of course, the Pastoe team would be delighted to see this desk used as a dressing table, too. DESK EBO1

Een ranke gazelle in blank berken, met twee laden in het blad en een klep in het bovenblad. We zagen er een mooi werkbureau in en hebben besloten de tafel opnieuw te produceren. We hebben hier en daar wat aanpassingen gemaakt omdat de mens van 2016 anders gebouwd is dan die uit 1951. De Desk staat wat hoger op zijn poten en de laden zijn minder hoog, zodat je benen er goed onder passen. Verder zit er een doorvoer in voor de kabels van je computer. Onder de klep zit een houten interieurbak.

Again in white birch, with legs, two drawers and a large lid in the centre. Exactly like Cees thought of it. 1958 cees braakman Dutchman Cees Braakman (1917-1995) meant a lot to Pastoe. From 1945 to 1978, he was head of the Pastoe design team and was responsible for the development of the first modern furniture line. Moreover, he created a clear and coherent collection of furniture conceived as functional objects, which put Pastoe on the map.

In 1958 he designed together with producer Adriaan Dekker one of the first seating elements to be entirely fabricated from steel wire: chair SM05, stool KM05/06/07 and lounge chair FM05/06. The classic design has been adapted to fit current sensibilities and has been brought back into production. Its wire design gives the seating elements a spatial effect and the seats shape and the cushions a comfortable sitting experience.

Der firmeneigene Designer von Pastoe, Cees Braakman, entwarf 1951 den Frisiertisch. Ein funktionelles und schlichtes 50er Jahre Modell aus Furnier-Sperrholzplatten. Grazil wie eine Gazelle in heller Birke, mit zwei Schubladen und einer Klappe in der Tischplatte. Wir erkannten darin die Umgestaltungsmöglichkeiten zu einem Schreibtisch und beschlossen, das Modell aufs Neue herzustellen. Da auch die Körpergröße seit 1951 zugenommen hat, waren einige Anpassungen nötig. Die Arbeitsplatte ist höher angebracht, während die flacheren Schubladen den Beinen bequem Platz bieten. Eine Kabeldurchführung für den Computer ist ebenfalls vorhanden. Unter der Klappe können Utensilien verstaut werden. Nel 1951 Cees Braakman, il designer interno di Pastoe, ha ideato il tavolo da toeletta. Il Multiplex è una creazione funzionale e semplice che risale agli anni cinquanta. Una struttura snella in chiara betulla, con due cassetti ed una ribalta nel piano. Ci abbiamo visto una bella scrivania ed abbiamo deciso di rimettere in produzione il tavolo. Abbiamo adeguato qualcosa perché l’uomo del 2016 ha una struttura un po’ diversa dall’uomo del 1951. Il Desk è un po’ più alto sulle gambe ed i cassetti sono un po’ più bassi, in modo che le gambe vi stiano comodamente sotto. Inoltre è dotato di foro per il passaggio dei cavi del computer. Back in the 1950s, this desk was designed as a dressing table. It’s an authentic Braakman in white birch, with legs, drawers and a large lid in the centre. A simple, yet very functional design. This dressing table was gathering dust in Pastoe’s attic, when the team saw its potential as a beautiful contemporary desk. We have given it a modern twist and added it to our collection. We have heightened the frame to accommodate modern man’s longer legs, and fitted it with a cable feed- through for a laptop, lamp, and charger. Of course, the Pastoe team would be delighted to see this desk used as a dressing table, too. General These prices are given in euros and are recommended retail prices. A cutout can only be ordered in combination with a door or a flap. Upon ordering, the back panel will be fitted as standard with an opening for cable feed-through and ventilation purposes. As standard, the cable feed-through on the bottom or the top is located in the middle of the front, behind which is the desired point for the feedthrough. If the buyer prefers the cable feed-through to be placed more to the left or right then this must be stated on the order. The width of the cable feed-through is 18 cm as standard, except for an 18 or 27 cm panel, when the cable feed-through is 6cm wide. A cable feed-through on top is finished with a removable aluminium profile with a black brush.

Een uitsparing kan alleen besteld worden i.c.m. met een deur of klep. Bij bestelling wordt het achterpaneel ook voorzien van een uitsparing tbv kabel en ontluchting. De positie van de kabeldoorvoer in bodem of blad zit standaard in het midden van het front waarachter de kabeldoorvoer gewenst is. Wanneer de kabeldoorvoer naar links of rechts gewenst is, dient dit op de bestelling aangegeven te worden. De afmeting van de kabeldoorvoer is standaard 18 cm, alleen bij een paneel van 18 en 27 cm is de kabeldoorvoer 6cm. Een kabeldoorvoer aan de bovenzijde wordt afgewerkt met een afneembaar aluminium profiel met zwarte borstel.

Ungeachtet dessen kann es zu leichten Farbabweichungen, u.a. durch den Einfluss von Sonnenlicht, zwischen Muster und geliefertem Produkt kommen. Alle RAL und Sikkens Farben (4041 en 5051) können ebenfalls verwendet werden für einen Preisaufschlag €150 net ex VAT pro Farbe, unabhängig von der Zahl der zu lackierenden Teile.
